[OVERVIEW]

**Psychic**:

Jirachi has solid stats and a great defensive typing giving it many resistances such as Fairy, Flying, Dragon, Ice, and Rock, as well as a neutrality to Bug-type attacks, which Psychic-type teams appreciate because they often lack solid switch-ins to some of these types. Its base 100 stats across the board allow it to be a decent physical attacker, as well as a physically defensive or specially defensive Pokemon. In addition to decent STAB moves in Iron Head and Zen Headbutt, Jirachi has a very wide movepool that lets perform a number of roles effectively, such as Stealth Rock setter, status spreader, and bulky pivot, meaning it can find a place on any type of Psychic team; it has a lot of coverage options such as Ice Punch and Fire Punch and utility options such as U-turn, Wish, Healing Wish, Stealth Rock, and Thunder Wave. Jirachi's Serene Grace ability makes many of its moves more dangerous, as most of them have secondary effects, especially two of its STAB moves in Iron Head and Heart Stamp, which gain a very high flinch chance. This allows Jirachi to function as a solid Choice Scarf user that's often capable of taking down its foes through flinches, gaining momentum with U-turn, or using Healing Wish to bring back one of its teammates to full health. However, it faces competition from Victini and Gardevoir as Choice Scarf users, as the former is able to check faster Bug-types such as +1 Volcarona and Steel-types such as Mega Scizor, and the latter helps against Dark-types such as Mandibuzz and Sableye. Jirachi's main drawbacks are the fact that its offensive stats are not that impressive and none of its moves have very high Base Power, which means it relies on repeated attacks or flinches to get KOs on bulkier Pokemon and may even need more support to do so. It can also be setup bait for sweepers that threaten Psychic-type teams such as Mega Scizor, Bisharp, and Mega Gyarados, which resist most of its attacks.

Moves
========

Iron Head is Jirachi's most reliable attack due to its STAB, decent Base Power, and high flinch chance. Stealth Rock applies pressure to types weak to it such as Flying, Bug, Fire, and Ice, and it is also useful for breaking Focus Sashes. Toxic whittles down Pokemon such as Zapdos and Slowbro, which Jirachi struggles to beat. Thunder Wave is another good status option that allows Jirachi to slow down foes and have a higher chance of taking them down with its Serene Grace Iron Head flinch. It's especially useful for crippling threats such as Choice Scarf Heracross and Volcarona. U-turn lets Jirachi gain momentum when predicting the foe to switch out. It also breaks Mega Gyarados's Substitute and prevents Jirachi from being setup fodder. Alternatively, Jirachi can use Wish over U-turn to heal up itself or its teammates.

Set Details
========

16 EVs in Speed lets Jirachi outspeed base 70 Speed Pokemon that aren't running a Speed-boosting nature such as Breloom. The remaining EVs are put into HP and Special Defense to give Jirachi the ability to tank special attacks as well as it can and reliably check Pokemon such as Mega Diancie, Kyurem-B, and Togekiss. Serene Grace increases the chance of secondary effects, which Jirachi takes advantages of with Iron Head's already decent flinch chance. Leftovers gives Jirachi a bit of passive recovery and increases its longevity.

Usage Tips
========

Jirachi can pivot around at any point of the game to set up Stealth Rock or spread status. Due to its great defensive typing, it can come in on attacks of most types and tank them pretty well, such as attacks from Kyurem-B and Mega Gardevoir. Even though getting Stealth Rock up is a priority for Jirachi, it should be wary of super effective physical attacks like Earthquake and Knock Off. Physical attackers threaten Jirachi due to its lack of investment in Defense, so staying in on them should be avoided. It's walled by Steel-types and gives Pokemon such as Bisharp and Mega Scizor an opportunity to set up for free, so it shouldn't stay in on them. Toxic should be used to cripple passive Pokemon that can easily tank Jirachi's attacks or resist them. Thunder Wave can be used when predicting the foe to switch out to a proper check or against fast Pokemon that can't touch Jirachi. Jirachi can take advantage of slower foes and attempt to take them down with its Serene Grace Iron Head flinches, which is even more effective when they're poisoned or paralyzed. Jirachi's typing prevents many Pokemon from doing much damage to it and forces them to switch out. In these cases, Jirachi's U-turn comes in handy to gain momentum and bring in the proper teammate. If running Wish, it should also be used when predicting the foe to switch out or not go for an attacking move. Using Wish as the foe switches out can also help safely bringing in a teammate. Wish works well with Iron Head, as Jirachi can get a flinch to buy time for the Wish to activate.

Team Options
========

Specially defensive Jirachi fits mainly on balanced or defensive Psychic-type teams because it's too passive for offensive teams. Slowbro is a great partner for Jirachi because it's capable of taking physical attacks that specially defensive Jirachi doesn't appreciate and has the ability to check Ground-types such as Swampert and Landorus-T that Jirachi is struggles against. It can also run Thunder Wave and spread paralysis, which allows Jirachi to run Toxic and still be able to take down paralyzed foes with Iron Head flinches. Slowbro can check Mega Gyarados and Mega Sharpedo by running a Colbur Berry and Grass Knot, which Jirachi and Psychic teams in general heavily appreciate. It's also capable of checking many Steel-types such as Heatran and Excadrill. Victini is able to get past Pokemon that wall Jirachi such as Mega Scizor, Ferrothorn, and Volcarona thanks to its Fire typing and very powerful V-create. It is also an amazing check to Bug-types, dealing with the likes of Choice Scarf Heracross, which every Psychic-type team appreciates. In turn, Victini appreciates Jirachi's slow U-turn, which can let it come in for free and hit something with its powerful V-create. Choice Scarf Gardevoir is able to check Dark-types such as Mandibuzz and Sableye with its STAB Moonblast. It can also run Healing Wish to let Jirachi run U-turn over Wish. Mega Gardevoir is a very powerful wallbreaker that appreciates Jirachi's ability to set up entry hazards, spread status, and bring it in with a slow U-turn. Latios, Latias, and Mega Latias provide a Ground immunity, covering one of Jirachi's weaknesses, and they're also capable of Defogging away hazards such as Spikes, which may hinder Jirachi's defensive capabilities. They're also capable of beating most Water-type Pokemon due to their resistance to Water-type attacks. Hoopa-U is a great check to Ghost-types such as Gengar and Chandelure, which threaten Jirachi, thanks to its Dark typing, and it's also one of the best wallbreakers that Psychic-type teams have access to. Jirachi's ability to set up Stealth Rock and spread status helps Hoopa-U's wallbreaking. Jirachi's U-turn gives it opportunities to bring in Hoopa-U on walls or slower Pokemon and get a KO or do a lot of damage to them. Mega Medicham is another amazing wallbreaker on Psychic-type teams that appreciates Stealth Rock and statused foes. It's also able to break through some of Jirachi's checks such as Heatran, Empoleon, Lanturn and other Pokemon that resist Jirachi's Iron Head and don't care about Toxic. Mega Medicham appreciates Jirachi's slow U-Turn because it gets opportunities to come in for free. Mew is a good partner for Jirachi because it can run a stallbreaker set, since Jirachi's already running Stealth Rock, and helps beat walls for Jirachi if it's not running Toxic.

Moves

Iron Head is a reliable STAB attack that is highly spammable because of its high flinch chance. U-turn helps Jirachi get momentum when predicting the foe to switch out. Fire Punch hits Pokemon such as Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn that normally wall Jirachi. Alternatively, Heart Stamp can be used as a secondary STAB move that also has a high flinch chance, but unlike Iron Head, it can target Water-, Electric-, and Fire-types. When Jirachi's weakened or no longer needed, it can use Healing Wish to bring a weakened or crippled teammate back to full heath. Alternatively, Trick can be used to cripple passive Pokemon such as Porygon2.

Set Details
========

Full Speed investment is used to allow Jirachi to outspeed as many Pokemon as possible. Maximum investment in Attack increases Jirachi's damage output. Serene Grace boosts the chance of secondary effects, giving Jirachi a higher chance to take down its foes through flinches or get a burn with Fire Punch. Choice Scarf increases Jirachi's Speed, allowing it to outspeed most unboosted Pokemon.

Usage Tips
========

Choice Scarf Jirachi is a great revenge killer because it outspeeds most unboosted Pokemon and has a very high chance to take them down with its Serene Grace Iron Head and Heart Stamp flinches. Due to its great defensive typing, it can pivot in on a lot of attacks such as ones from Mega Diancie and Kyurem-B. However, switching it in on powerful attacks such as Hydro Pump from Choice Specs Keldeo and High Jump Kick from Mega Medicham should be avoided. Healing Wish should be used when Jirachi has little to no more use or when it's weakened so it can bring back a weakened or crippled teammate. Trick can be used to cripple bulky Pokemon such as Alomomola that annoy Jirachi.

Team Options
========

Mew is a good partner for Jirachi because it can set up Stealth Rock to weaken foes for Jirachi and function as a special wall thanks to its great stats. Slowbro can take physical hits really well and spread paralysis with Thunder Wave, making Jirachi's attempts to flinch down its foes more easily. Slowbro is also able to check a lot of Jirachi's checks such as Heatran and Excadrill. Colbur Berry Slowbro with Grass Knot has the ability to check Mega Gyarados and Mega Sharpedo, which are very big threats to Psychic-type teams. Victini is an excellent partner due to its ability to check Steel- and Bug-types, most notably Volcarona and Mega Scizor. Mega Gardevoir checks Dark-types such as Sableye and Mandibuzz, which Jirachi struggles to get past due to Sableye's Prankster Will-O-Wisp and Mandibuzz's great physical bulk. Latios, Latias, and Mega Latias provide a Ground immunity and have the ability to get rid of entry hazards to increase Jirachi's longevity. Hoopa-U and Mega Medicham are two incredibly hard-hitting wallbreakers that appreciate being brought in safely by Jirachi's U-turn. Deoxys-S is a great partner for Jirachi because of its ability to stack hazards, making it easier for Jirachi to get KOs or take down its foes through flinches.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

**Psychic**:

Specially defensive Jirachi can run a Colbur Berry so it can survive a hit from Mega Sharpedo or Hoopa-U and cripple them with Thunder Wave. Jirachi has access to a lot of special attacks such as Energy Ball and Charge Beam, which provide decent coverage, but they don't make use of Serene Grace nearly as well as its physical attacks do, and running a special variant means you miss out on abusing Iron Head and Heart Stamp's flinch rate.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Psychic**:

**Steel-types**: Steel-type Pokemon such as Mega Scizor, Skarmory, and Doublade completely wall the specially defensive variant of Jirachi, as they resist Iron Head and are immune to Toxic. However, the Choice Scarf variant threatens them with Fire Punch.

**Heatran**: Heatran completely walls and threatens every variant of Jirachi due to its resistance to Iron Head and immunity to Fire Punch and Toxic.

**Fire-types**: Although Fire-type Pokemon such as Torkoal and Heatran don't appreciate being crippled by Thunder Wave or Toxic, they resist Iron Head and threaten Jirachi with their super effective Fire-type attacks.

**Ground-types**: Most Ground-types such as Excadrill and Gliscor threaten Jirachi with their super effective STAB attacks and can switch into Jirachi pretty well, as they either resist its attacks or tank them well, and they also don't care about Toxic and Thunder Wave. Excadrill does have to watch out for Fire Punch, however.

**Dark-types**: Jirachi's weakness to Dark leaves it threatened by Dark-types such as Bisharp, Mega Sharpedo, and Mega Gyarados, which can easily OHKO it or, in Mega Gyarados's case, set up on it.

**Ghost-types**: Ghost-types such as Chandelure and Hoopa threaten Jirachi with their super effective STAB Ghost-type attacks.

**Water-types**: Water-type Pokemon such as Slowbro and Empoleon resist Jirachi's attacks and switch into it pretty well, although they don't appreciate being crippled with status. They can also burn it with Scald and cripple it severely.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Jirachi doesn't appreciate taking hits from strong physical wallbreakers such as Mega Medicham because its Defense is pretty mediocre when uninvested.

**Walls**: Although they don't like being badly poisoned by Toxic, walls such as Alomomola can completely wall a Thunder Wave Jirachi. Jirachi particularly struggles against walls that have Rocky Helmet such as Garchomp and Mandibuzz, as the recoil discourages the use of Iron Head.

Need to add the Choice Scarf set.

Overview:
- With the stat line, don't mention special attack, that's not a thing.
- Don't mention special STAB attacks, that's bad.
- Explain the roles that Jirachi can fill.
- Explain how those roles can adjust to the team it's on.
- Don't mention coverage moves no one will ever use. Charge Beam / Energy Ball are never used. U-turn is more utility than coverage.
- Heart Stamp > Zen Headbutt for the sake of flinching in the Serene Grace line.
- Mention that Jirachi can be easy setup bait for sweepers that can ignore or prevent Jirachi from using status moves due to its low damage.

Set:
- Changing move 3 / move 4 ordering. The status is more important.
- Healing Wish is better than Wish.

name: Specially Defensive
move 1: Iron Head
move 2: Stealth Rock
move 3: Toxic / Thunder Wave
move 4: U-turn / Healing Wish
item: Leftovers
ability: Serene Grace
nature: Careful
evs: 252 HP / 240 SpD / 16 Spe

Moves:
- Change ordering to reflect new set.
- Explain that Thunder Wave helps Jirachi support the team by crippling the likes of Choice Scarf Heracross and Volcarona but makes Jirachi easily walled.
- Note that U-turn can break Mega Gyarados's Substitute, preventing Jirachi from being automatic setup bait.
- Explain Healing Wish
- Remove Wish.

Set Details:
- Outspeeding Bisharp is pointless for Jirachi. The most you can do is paralyze, really not that useful.

Usage Tips:
- What attacks is it pivoting into? Give examples. (Kyurem-B?)
- What super effective hits should it avoid?
- Give some advice for Toxic / Thunder Wave.
- Explain that it should avoid physical attackers.

Team Options:
- Mention that Jirachi primarily fits on balance and defensive teams, as it's far too passive for offensive teams.
- Add to Slowbro the ability to run Colbur and anti-Mega Gyarados and Mega Sharpedo tech.
- Also add that Slowbro checks a lot of Steel-types. Give examples.
- Add that Victini takes out Heracross, which beats Jirachi without Thunder Wave. It also beats Volcarona. Those are two very important names to list.
- What Dark-types does Gardevoir check?
- What else does Meloetta do? If all it does is have an immunity, that's not very useful.
- Add that Jirachi can U-turn into Hoopa-U, bringing it in on walls that it can break. Also, what Ghost-types?
- Include Mega Latias and Mega Gardevoir.
- Include Mew's stallbreaker set, which is enabled by Jirachi carrying Stealth Rock support. Helps beat walls for Thunder Wave Jirachi as well.

Other Options:
- Moving Choice Scarf to a real set.
- Mention Colbur Berry for allowing it to take one hit and Thunder Wave Mega Sharpedo. Also makes it safer to U-turn out of Mega Gyarados
- Add Wish support and that Protect can be used with it optionally

Checks and Counters:
Be aware you will need to edit this with Choice Scarf relevant information after. I won't do that right now, but you should before QC 2.
- No mention of Heatran? It completely walls Jirachi. I'd even put it in its own section.
- Add Mega Scizor to Steel-types for being able to set up on Jirachi easily.
- What Fire-types?
- How do Dark-types threaten Jirachi? How about Mega Gyarados?
- Mention that Scald users can burn Jirachi, crippling it severely.
- Heracross isn't a wallbreaker.
- Add Walls. Although they don't like Toxic, most of them can completely wall Thunder Wave Jirachi.

Specially Defensive:
Usage tips:
- It's common knowledge that you shouldn't bring in your Specially Defensive Jirachi into super effective physical hits. I'd either remove that part or change it to "Even though getting Stealth Rock up is a priority for Jirachi, it should be wary of super effective physical attacks like Earthquake or Knock Off".
- Try to join in the sentences where you talk about it being set up bait and being threatened by physical attackers.
- Not sure what you mean by "Thunder Wave can be used on Pokemon that can't do much damage to Jirachi". Wouldn't Toxic still be better then? Only instances where Thunder Wave is better would be against fast attackers that Jirachi walls.

Team Options:
- Mention how Jirachi can pivot in Victini, Latios, Mega Medicham, and Gardevoir through a slow U-turn.

Checks and Counters
- Definitely need to mention Skarmory in there somewhere. It easily walls all of Jirachi's attacks (even Fire Punch) and can set up entry hazards or phaze it out. You can either add it to Steel-types or make a separate section for it.
- Mention how Gliscor and Excadrill aren't threatened by either Thunder Wave or Toxic.
- Keldeo can't really switch into a Heart Stamp from the Choice Scarf variant. Empoleon or Swampert would be better.

Nicely done! Just needed a few clarifications. QC 2/3

Overview:
  • Jirachi's Flying resist should be noted as well at the beginning, it's the only common Psychic-type with a Flying resist which is super handy against stuff like Togekiss
  • "...its offensive stats are not that impressive and none of its move have very high base power."
    Emphasize that, because of Jirachi's relatively low Attack for an offensive Pokemon, it relies on repeated attacks and flinches to net KOs on bulkier Pokemon and may need more support to do so.
  • "It can also be setup bait for sweepers that can prevent Jirachi from inflicting status on them."
    Specifically mention how many sweepers like Mega Scizor, Bisharp, and Mega Gyarados that threaten Psychic as a whole can use Jirachi as setup bait if not used wisely
Specially Defensive
Set Details
  • "The remaining EVs are put into HP and Special Defense to give Jirachi the ability to tank special attacks as well as it can."
    Elaborate on why Jirachi prefers the specially defensive EV spread by naming some Pokemon that Specially Defensive would handle better than a different spread. Some important examples include Mega Diancie, Life Orb Kyurem-B, and Togekiss
Usage Tips
  • Mention that Iron Head also works well with Wish, as it can buy time for the Wish's effect to activate
  • "If running Wish, it should also be used when predicting the foe to switch out or not go for an attacking move."
    Add that using Wish as they switch out allows you to get your own check in more comfortably
Team Options
  • Add that Slowbro is a great general check for most Ground-types, like Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Mega Swampert, which Jirachi struggles against
  • Add that Mega Latias beats the Water-types that Jirachi struggles to break through
  • For the sake of cutting this section down a little bit since it is a little long, remove Meloetta, it is largely outclassed by Hoopa-U and not really seen much.
Choice Scarf
Moves
  • "Iron Head is a reliable STAB attack that Choice Scarf Jirachi often locks itself into due to its high chance to flinch."
    This was worded somewhat ambiguously; something like "Iron Head is a reliable STAB attack that is highly spammable because of its high chance to flinch" seems to get your point across more clearly
  • Add that Heart Stamp covers a decent amount of targets that Iron Head misses out on, like Water-, Electric, and Fire-types
Team Options
  • Add in Deoxys-Speed, as it can stack hazards, making it much easier for Jirachi to dismantle the opposing team
Other Options
  • Add in that Jirachi could make use of its great Special movepool, but it doesn't make use of Serene Grace nearly as well. Specially oriented sets also can't make use of Iron Head, which has so many uses, making the physical sets superior.
Checks and Counters
  • In the walls section, add in Garchomp and mention that Jirachi particularly struggles against things that may carry Rocky Helmet, as the recoil discourages using Iron Head repeatedly.

Nice work, QC 3/3

Team Options
========

Mew is a good partner for Jirachi because it can set up Stealth Rock to weaken foes for Jirachi (RC) and function as a special wall thanks to its great stats. Slowbro can take physical hits really well and spread paralysis with Thunder Wave, (AC) making Jirachi's attempts to flinch down its foes easier more easily. Slowbro is also able to check a lot of Jirachi's checks such as Heatran and Excadrill. Colbur Berry Slowbro with Grass Knot has the ability to check Mega Gyarados and Mega Sharpedo, (AC) which are very big threats to Psychic-type teams. Victini is an excellent partner due to its ability to check Steel- and Bug-types, most notably Volcarona and Mega Scizor. Mega Gardevoir checks Dark-types such as Sableye and Mandibuzz, (AC) which Jirachi struggles to get past due to Sableye's Prankster Will-O-Wisp and Mandibuzz's great physical bulk. Latios, Latias, and Mega Latias provide a Ground immunity (RH) and have the ability to get rid of entry hazards to increase Jirachi's longevity. Hoopa-U and Mega Medicham are two incredibly hard-hitting (AH) wallbreakers that appreciate being brought in safely by Jirachi's U-turn. Deoxys-S is a great partner for Jirachi because of its ability to stack hazards and make it easier for Jirachi to get KOs or flinch take down its foes through flinches.

**Psychic**:

Specially defensive Jirachi can run a Colbur Berry so it can live survive a hit from Mega Sharpedo or Hoopa-U and cripple them with Thunder Wave. Jirachi has access to a lot of special attacks such as Energy Ball and Charge Beam, (AC) which provide decent coverage, however but they don't make use of Serene Grace nearly as good well as its physical attacks do, and running a special attacking variant means you miss out on abusing Iron Head and Heart Stamp's flinch rate. (yn?)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Psychic**:

**Steel-types**: Steel-type Pokemon such as Mega Scizor, Skarmory, and Doublade completely wall the specially defensive variant of Jirachi, (AC) as they resist Iron Head and are immune to Toxic.

**Ground-types**: Most Ground-types such as Excadrill and Gliscor threaten Jirachi with their super effective STAB Ground atacks attacks and can switch into Jirachi pretty well, (AC) as they either resist its attacks or tank them well, and they also don't care about Toxic and Thunder Wave. Excadrill does have to watch out for Fire Punch, however.

**Dark-types**: Jirachi's weakness to Dark leaves it threatened by Dark-types such as Bisharp, Mega Sharpedo and Mega Gyarados, (AC) which can easily OHKO it or, (AC) in Mega Gyarados's case, set up on it.

**Ghost-types**: Ghost-types such as Chandelure and Hoopa threaten Jirachi with their super effective STAB Ghost-type attacks.

**Water-types**: Water-type Pokemon such as Slowbro and Empoleon resist Jirachi's attacks and switch in pretty well, although they don't appreciate being crippled with status.

In addition to decent STAB moves in Iron Head and Zen Headbutt, Jirachi has a very wide movepool that lets it complete (complete probably isn't the right word here...maybe "perform"?) a number of roles effectively, such as Stealth Rock setter, status spreader, and bulky pivot, meaning it can find a place on any type of Psychic team; it has a lot of coverage options such as Ice Punch and Fire Punch and utility options such as U-turn, Wish, Healing Wish, Stealth Rock, and Thunder Wave.

Set Details
========

Serene Grace increases the chance of secondary effects, which Jirachi takes advantages of with Iron Head's already decent flinch chance to flinch. Leftovers gives Jirachi a bit of passive recovery and increases its longevity.

Usage Tips
========

Jirachi can pivot around at any point of the game to set up Stealth Rock or spread status. Due to its great defensive typing, (AC) it can come in on attacks of most types and tank them pretty well, such as attacks from Kyurem-B and Mega Gardevoir. In these cases, (AC) Jirachi's U-turn comes in handy to gain momentum and bring in the proper teammate.

========

Mew is a good partner for Jirachi because it can run a stallbreaker set, (AC) since Jirachi's already running Stealth Rock, (AC) and helps beat walls for Jirachi if it's not running Toxic.

Alternatively, Heart Stamp can be used as a secondary STAB move that also has a high flinch chance, but unlike Iron Head, it can target Water-, Electric-, (AC) and Fire-types. When Jirachi's weakened or no longer needed, it can use Healing Wish to bring a weakened or crippled teammate back to full heath. Alternatively, Trick can be used to cripple passive Pokemon such as Porygon2.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========
