[OVERVIEW]

**Psychic**:

With fantastic Special Attack, amazing Speed, and great STAB moves in Draco Meteor and Psyshock, Latios is easily one of the best wallbreakers in the Monotype metagame. Its great Speed allows it to outspeed common threats such as Galvantula, Keldeo, Garchomp, and Mega Pinsir and function as a great revenge killer. Most teams in the format lack a solid Pokemon that resists Dragon; this makes Latios a fantastic wallbreaker and turns Draco Meteor into a very spammable move. To complement this, Latios has fantastic coverage moves in Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Surf, and Hidden Power Fire to threaten its checks. Even though it has great offensive moves, Latios is not lacking in support moves either, as it has access to Defog to clear away entry hazards and Roost to improve its longevity. Furthermore, its decent defensive typing combined with an immunity to Ground-type moves due to Levitate lets it switch into most moves with ease. However, because of Latios's relatively average physical bulk, it is vulnerable to Choice Scarf users with U-turn such as Landorus-T and Victini and can be worn down and revenge killed by faster Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny and Weavile. Even though Latios has great Speed, it still faces Speed ties against other fast Pokemon such as Gengar, Mega Diancie, Latias, and opposing Latios.

Moves
========

Draco Meteor is Latios's strongest STAB move and can be used freely against most Pokemon. Psyshock is used to hit Fighting-type Pokemon such as Keldeo, Infernape, and Terrakion and Poison-type Pokemon such as Nidoking, Mega Venusaur, and Tentacruel. It is also used to prevent a Special Attack drop and hit Dragon-resistant Pokemon. Psyshock is preferred over Psychic to threaten specially defensive Pokemon such as Zapdos by attacking their physical defense. Defog is used to clear away entry hazards for Latios's teammates. Roost improves Latios's longevity and allows it to switch in and out more easily. Hidden Power Fire can be used instead of Roost to beat Steel-type Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Bisharp, and Scizor, the latter two being huge threats to Psychic-type teams. Using Hidden Power Fire, however, drops Latios's Speed by one point, making it incapable of Speed tying with Mega Diancie, Gengar, and opposing Latios. Surf allows Latios to threaten Fire-type Pokemon such as Heatran and Ground-type Pokemon such as Hippowdon and Excadrill while also hitting Steel-types for neutral damage. Ice Beam lets Latios threaten Flying-type Pokemon such as Togekiss, Zapdos, and Landorus without dropping its Special Attack through Draco Meteor but leaves it unable to damage the Steel-type Pokemon that severely threaten a Psychic team. Thunderbolt can be used to hit bulky Water-type Pokemon such as Azumarill, Gyarados, and Empoleon.

Set Details
========

Maximum Special Attack investment boosts Latios's Special Attack as much as possible without a boosting nature. A Timid nature with maximum Speed EVs is used to make Latios as fast as possible and allows it to Speed tie with other base 110 Speed Pokemon such as Latias, Gengar, and Mega Diancie. Life Orb boosts the power of Latios's attacks at the cost of having recoil damage.

Usage Tips
========

Most teams in the Monotype metagame don't have great Latios counters, so playing aggressively with it can often break down opposing teams quickly. Because of its amazing Special Attack, Latios can easily KO or weaken Pokemon heavily with Draco Meteor early-game to help its teammates or itself clean up later, but one should be wary of overusing it, as it severely reduces Latios's Special Attack each time it's used. Latios should be kept until late-game because it's an excellent cleaner. If Latios has Roost, it should be liberal with using Defog; if it doesn't, however, one needs to be more careful with managing its health, as Life Orb will slowly chip away at its HP, so making sure it can Defog when it's necessary. If Latios has Roost, furthermore, it can freely switch in and out against most non-super effective hits and use it to heal itself. Latios is Pursuit bait and one should be careful if there is a Pursuit user on the opposing team.

Team Options
========

Latios and Mega Medicham work together greatly as an offensive duo. They can work together to break each other's checks and counters. Mega Medicham can threaten Dark-type Pokemon such as Tyranitar and Bisharp, while Latios can take care of Mandibuzz and Sableye. Mega Medicham also wears down Pokemon through its sheer power and use of Fake Out, letting Latios clean up late-game. Mega Gardevoir is another Mega Pokemon that can break cores together with Latios. Especially against Dark-type teams, Mega Gardevoir can deal with most Pokemon to let Latios clean up. Victini is another good partner for Latios, as it helps it deal with Bug-type Pokemon, which generally pose a problem for Latios. Furthermore, Victini is a good Choice Scarf user and can KO threats like Choice Scarf Heracross and Mega Pinsir with its STAB Fire-type moves. Victini can pivot through the use of U-turn and bring in Latios safely. Victini also appreciates Latios's ability to clear away entry hazards for it. Hoopa-U forms a great offensive partnership with Latios by using a mixed set to beat Pokemon that could trouble Latios such as Steel-type Pokemon like Heatran, Doublade, and Ferrothorn. Hoopa-U also deals with Latios's weakness to Ghost-type Pokemon such as Gengar and Choice Scarf Chandelure. Mew sets up Stealth Rock for Latios, allowing it to break through Pokemon more easily. Using Defog on Latios also frees up a moveslot on Mew, letting it run more useful moves. Mew also generally walls and beats most Fairy- and Dragon-type Pokemon that threaten Latios; the likes of Mega Diancie and opposing Latios can't break through it. Jirachi is an alternative Stealth Rock user that is particularly great due to resisting Fairy- and Dragon-type moves, which Latios is weak to. Like Victini, Jirachi can also be used as a Choice Scarf user and pivot through U-turn to bring Latios in safely. Slowbro is a great defensive backbone for Latios, as it can easily switch into U-turn and take Knock Off if it runs Colbur Berry.

Other Options
=============

**Psychic**:

Latios can run a Calm Mind set to turn into a sweeper and further enhance its wallbreaking capabilities. Earthquake can be used on non-Surf variants to hit Steel-type Pokemon such as Heatran super effectively, which would otherwise wall it. Shadow Ball lets Latios hit Pokemon such as Doublade and Jirachi super effectively. Choice Specs can be used over Life Orb to give Latios more power, allowing it to KO most Pokemon. Although the extra power from Choice Specs is very beneficial, it locks Latios into one move. Choice Scarf is another viable item on Latios, as it boosts its Speed to amazing heights but locks it into one move while offering far less power than Life Orb. Furthermore, Victini outclasses Latios as a Choice Scarf user due to its STAB Fire-type moves on a Psychic team.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Psychic**:

**Dark-types**: Dark-type Pokemon such as Tyranitar, Bisharp, and Weavile can easily take Latios out, with Tyranitar tanking most of its hits and KOing with Crunch, Bisharp playing mind games against Latios with Sucker Punch and Knock Off, and Weavile outspeeding Latios and KOing it with Knock Off.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-type Pokemon such as Clefable and Klefki are all immune to Draco Meteor and take little damage from Psyshock. Azumarill and Mega Gardevoir can easily take a Psyshock from Latios and then KO it in return with their STAB Fairy-type moves. Clefable can set up Stealth Rock or Thunder Wave Latios, while Klefki can set up dual screens on it.

**Steel-types**: Most Steel-type Pokemon wall Latios's STAB combination and can only be beaten with Hidden Power Fire. Additionally, Pokemon such as Mega Scizor and Doublade can easily set up on Latios.

**Revenge Killers**: Faster Pokemon such as Tornadus-T, Weavile, and Mega Lopunny all outspeed Latios and can weaken or even KO it with Knock Off and Ice Punch, respectively.

**Specially Defensive Walls**: Specially defensive Pokemon such as Mew and Porygon2 can all take Latios's attacks and stall it out, while Heatran can also set up Stealth Rock.

**Chansey**: Chansey can easily tank all of Latios's attacks and proceed to KO it with Seismic Toss or set up Stealth Rock against it.

Overview:
- Explain why its high stats are good. Its high Special Attack and Speed make it a great revenge killer.
- By the way, examples of what Latios outspeeds would be nice. Galvantula, Mega Pinsir, and Garchomp are good.
- I wouldn't mention Earthquake to be honest, it's pretty bad coverage.
- Being Pursuit-trapped and Knock Off weak are symptoms of being Psychic-type, so not particularly necessary to include here. If you wish, you can say that its average physical bulk doesn't help it against those attacks.
- Tornadus-T isn't a common threat, how about Weavile?

Set:
- I don't think Thunderbolt should be slashed, let alone above Ice Beam. Ice Beam is for sure the best offensive move here and should be the slash behind Roost.

name: Life Orb Attacker
move 1: Draco Meteor
move 2: Psyshock
move 3: Defog
move 4: Roost / Ice Beam
item: Life Orb
ability: Levitate
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Moves:
- Psyshock's main uses are not dropping Special Attack, hitting Dragon-resisting Pokemon, and hitting specially defensive walls, above all else. All of your examples are hit by Draco Meteor anyway except for Tentacruel. For examples, I'd use Tentacruel, Zapdos, and Azumarill as targets.
- Part of the point of using Thunderbolt is to specifically hit Azumarill, which should be mentioned over Slowbro. (Slowbro gets hit by Draco Meteor anyway). The only other reason to use Thunderbolt over Energy Ball is to always be able to hit Gyarados / Mega Gyarados for good damage, although Draco Meteor does about the same to Mega Gyarados.
- Mention that Hidden Power Fire drops Latios's Speed by one point, making it incapable of having a Speed-tie with opposing Latios and Mega Diancie.
- Surf's pretty bad coverage I think, so probably move this to Other Options. The only Fire-type it hits that's important is Heatran and the only Ground-type is Excadrill. Everything else is covered by Psyshock, Ice Beam, or Draco Meteor anyway.
- Instead of Surf, maybe mention Energy Ball for hitting Water- and Ground-types effectively? It loses Thunderbolt's ability to hit Gyarados reliably in exchange for hitting Ground-types.

Usage Tips:
- If Latios has Roost, it should be proactive with Defogging, as you said it can easily recover off damage. If it doesn't, Latios needs to be more careful with managing its health, as making sure Latios can Defog if necessary is a priority, and Life Orb will slowly chip away at its health.
- While Latios is in fact a great cleaner late-game, it brings so much utility that I really don't think it's good to say that it should be "kept healthy to clean up". If Latios lacks Roost, this might be confusing, since Latios should definitely still be switching in and out, firing off its powerful STAB attacks.

Team Options:
- You should mention that Mew generally walls and beats most Fairy- and Dragon-type Pokemon that threaten Latios. The likes of Mega Diancie and opposing Latios can't break through it.
- Jirachi also resists Dragon-type attacks, so you should definitely mention that as well.
- Mention Slowbro for its ability to switch into U-turn. It can also take Knock Off if it runs Colbur Berry.

Other Options:
- Choice Scarf completely lacks power, which is the primary downside to it and why it's not particularly good.
- Earthquake only hits Heatran. Doublade takes more from Draco Meteor and Hidden Power Fire, as does Bisharp. There are no other reasons to use this move.
- Shadow Ball can't break Mew, and Draco Meteor hits Latias and Victini harder. (Always OHKOing the first, and always OHKOing the second after one round of Stealth Rock damage) It's fine to mention this hits specifically Doublade, but really nothing else is particularly impressive, as Draco Meteor KOes them all.
- Add Surf here if you want, since we removed it from Moves.

Checks and Counters:
- Neither Bisharp nor Weavile run Pursuit in Monotype. The main users are Skuntank, Tyranitar, and I think like Krookodile or something.
- Specially defensive walls should be added. Mew utterly walls Latios and can do whatever it wants, as can Porygon2 (more of a mixed wall?).
- Definitely add Steel-types. They wall Latios's STAB combination and can only be beaten with Hidden Power Fire. Mega Scizor, Doublade, and Ferrothorn are good here.

About the fourth moveslot, I think it should either be Roost / Ice Beam or Roost / Ice Beam / Hidden Power Fire. The other coverage moves aren't particularly good. Energy Ball is a possibility, maybe?

If you choose to use either of those slashings, QC 1/3. I'm open to hearing the reasoning behind Thunderbolt, though.

I don't like Ice Beam on LO Latios, Surf/Hidden power fire seems like better coverage to me because the examples you use in zapdos/togekiss are the same examples you used for psyshock, and surf also hits landorus, as well has hitting heatran. Apparently Eien and I don't see eye to eye on this so just take mine for consideration I guess. (I put roost as a slash next to defog since you mentioned defog isnt necessary.)

Hydreigon isn't a good example of what Latios can beat that helps Medicham because medicham beats hydreigon anyway, unless hydreigon is choice scarfed, meaning Latios also wouldn't beat it

Shadow ball also seems useless with the examples of doublade / jellicent / golurk, because draco/psyshock/hpfire/tbolt/surf/icebeam and all the other moves you mentioned beat those, but if you're going that route mention Jirachi

Mention Calm Mind under other options, it helps Latios's wallbreaking ability

Gardevoir can't switchin to latios's psyshock and takes upwards of 40 percent, but it does check latios well, and azu also does this

Nice job! Implement the stuff below and it is QC 3/3.

Overview

In general, I don't think this is specific enough to the Monotype meta. You include things that are generally true, yet not particularly relevant in Monotype, but omit monotype-specific things.

– In the first sentence, I don't think we should emphasize its role as a revenge killer so much (we want to clearly state the primary reason it is used). I view it as a premier wall breaker that offers excellent role compression with its access to reliable recovery and Defog (maybe ask eien or paleo if they have more input on this?). Still mention that its speed tier enables it to function as a revenge killer for common threats in the 100-108 speed tier later in the overview, though.
– I'd remove the bit about it being Pursuit trapped. Nothing really runs Pursuit in Monotype. Instead, highlight its weakness to Choice Scarf users, particularly those with U-turn, such as Victini or Landorus-Therian.
– Add a sentence discussing how it is a good wall breaker. Explicitly mention how many teams lack a solid Dragon resist, which makes Draco Meteor a very spammable attack. (I know you mention it later, but I think it is important enough to mention in the overview too).

Set
– I prefer HP Fire since it lets you dissuade the 3 SD 'mons on Steel from setting up. The speed drop is mostly irrelevant b/c you still outspeed Keldeo and co. and Draco + Psyshock + <Psychic team> beats everything else its coverage options would hit. I'm really hesitant to suggest a coverage option that is unable to hit those Steel types for neutral damage since they're such a massive threat and you don't want Latios as a sitting duck in that matchup.
– As such, I think we need to qualify Ice Beam's mention in the moves section to emphasize that it leaves Latios as setup bait for Scizor, Doublade, and Bisharp: "...without dropping its Special Attack through Draco Meteor, but leaves it unable to damage the Steel-type Pokemon that severely threaten a Psychic team."
– Also add that Surf hits Steel-types for neutral damage. "....such as Hippowdon, and Excadrill, while also hitting Steel-types for neutral damage."

OO

Add that Victini severely outclasses Latios as a scarfer on Psychic teams due to its STAB Fire-type attacks when discussing a choice scarf set.

Maximum Special Attack EV investment boosts its Latios's Special Attack as much as possible without a boosting nature. If Latios has Roost, it should be proactive with Defogging. (I would change "proactive" to something like "liberal" because saying proactive suggests that it can Defog before the opponent can set up hazards, which isn't the case.) But if it Latios doesn't have Roost, it one needs to be more careful with managing its health, as Life Orb will slowly chip away at its HP and making sure Latios it can Defog if necessary is a priority, (RC) and Life Orb will slowly chip away at its health. If it Latios has recovery, it can freely switch in and out against most non-super effective hits and use Roost to heal itself them off. Latios is Pursuit-bait and one should be careful if there is a Pursuit user in on the opposing team.

Good job overall Rare Poison. Couple specific things to note:

1. Checks & Counters headers are capitalized like sets

2. This may seem like a weird thing to improve on, but I think your check formatting could be a bit better. Namely, you may have noticed that some of your apostrophe and hyphen changes didn't go through and Zareef added underscores rather than removing spaces like you probably intended. It's actually pretty hard to notice the apostrophes and hyphens with just making that one character bold red (hardly even bolded tbh), and having no comments or notes related to it in the key just makes it all more confusing. Yeah it's a bit more annoying to do a full strikethrough or write a comment for it, but it also makes it more clear for the writer as to what needs to be changed and how.

Also I personally don't think you need that many abbreviations in the key; (AC) and (RC) are all I really need since those are wayyy more common than any other punctuation changes and I can just write out the rest

If Latios has Roost, it should be liberal with Defogging. But if Latios doesn't have Roost, one needs to be more careful with managing its health, as Life Orb will slowly chip away at its HP and , (AC) so making sure it can Defog if necessary is a priority. If Latios has recovery Roost, it can freely switch in and out against most non-super effective hits and use Roost it to heal itself. Latios is Pursuit-bait Pursuit bait and one should be careful if there is a Pursuit user on the opposing team.

Latios and Mega Medicham work together greatly as an offensive duo. They can work together to break each other's checks and counters. Mega Medicham can threaten Dark-type Pokemon such as Tyranitar and Bisharp, while Latios can take care of Mandibuzz and Sableye. Mega Medicham also wears down Pokemon through its sheer power and use of Fake Out, letting Latios clean up late game. Mega Gardevoir is another Mega Pokemon that can break cores together with Latios. Especially against Dark-type teams, Mega Gardevoir can break through most Pokemon to let Latios clean up. Hoopa-U forms a great offensive partnership with Latios. (remove period) Hoopa-U can use by using a particular set to beat Pokemon that could trouble Latios such as Steel-type Pokemon like Heatran, Doublade, and Ferrothorn. Hoopa-U also deals with Latios's weakness to Ghost-type Pokemon such as Gengar and Choice Scarf Chandelure. Mew sets up Stealth Rock for Latios, allowing it to break through Pokemon easier more easily. Using Defog on Latios also frees up a move_slot moveslot on Mew, letting it run more useful moves. Mew also generally walls and beats most Fairy- and Dragon-type Pokemon that threaten Latios; the likes of Mega Diancie and opposing Latios can't break through it. Jirachi is an alternative Stealth Rock user. (remove period) It that is particularly great due to resisting Fairy- and Dragon-type moves, which Latios is weak to. Like Victini, Jirachi can also be used as a Choice Scarf user and pivot through U-turn to bring Latios in safely. Slowbro is a great defensive backbone for Latios, as it can easily switch into U-turn and take Knock Off if it runs Colbur Berry.

Latios can run a Calm Mind set to turn it into a sweeper and further enhance its wallbreaking capabilities. Earthquake can be used to hit Steel-type Pokemon such as Heatran super effectively, which would otherwise wall it. (wouldn't Surf do a decent amount of damage?) Shadow Ball lets Latios hit Pokemon such as Doublade and Jirachi super effectively. Choice Specs can be used over Life Orb to give Latios more power, allowing it to KO most Pokemon. Although the extra power from Choice Specs is very beneficial, it locks Latios into one move. Choice Scarf is another viable item on Latios, as it boosts Latios's Speed to amazing heights but locks it into one move while offering far less power than Life Orb. Furthermore, Victini outclasses Latios as a Choice Scarf user due to its STAB Fire-type moves on a Psychic team.

Checks and Counters

**Psychic**:

**Dark-types**: Dark-type Pokemon such as Tyranitar, Bisharp, and Weavile can easily take Latios out, with Tyranitar tanking most of its hits and KOing with Crunch, Bisharp playing mind games against Latios with Sucker Punch and Knock Off, and Weavile outspeeding Latios, (RC) and KOing it with Knock Off.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-type Pokemon such as Clefable and Klefki are all immune to Draco Meteor and take small little damage from Psyshock.

Additionally, Pokemon such as Mega Scizor, (RC) and Doublade can easily set up on Latios.

**Revenge-killers Revenge Killers**: Faster Pokemon such as Tornadus-T, Weavile, and Mega Lopunny all outspeed Latios and can weaken or even KO it with Knock Off and Ice Punch respectively.

**Specially defensive walls Defensive Walls**: Specially defensive Pokemon such as Mew, (RC) and Porygon2, and Heatran can all take Latios's attacks and stall it out, while Heatran can also set up Stealth Rock. (Made the changes in this sentence since Heatran was already mentioned and gets this added benefit)

**Chansey**: Chansey can easily tank all of Latios's attacks and proceed to KO it with Seismic Toss or set up Stealth Rock against it.

Most teams in the Monotype metagame format lack a solid Pokemon that resists Dragon; Dragon resist; this makes Latios a fantastic wallbreaker and turns Draco Meteor into a very spammable move.

Psyshock is used over preferred over Psychic to threaten specially defensive Pokemon such as Zapdos by attacking their physical defense.
