[Monotype R1] smashlloyd20 [Fire] vs. PTPlatinum [Steel]

Rules
Bring 4, Pick 3 Singles.
You PM 4 pokemons to the ref from your team, but the battle will be 3vs3 singles. You will choose and send out your mons as the battle develops.

Turn Order:

Ubers Rule: Each type has an Ubers list. You may only use one of those Pokemon per match. NOTE: This would mean that you can only send in 1 mon from that list per match.
Special Rule: Pokemon are equipped on send-in, similar to how Anime-Style Simulator challenges work.
Special Rule #2: The Gym League rules on Megas is in effect. A mega may be used as long as it shares a type with the gym. Pokemon that mega evolve into a Pokemon with the right type can only be used in their mega evolved form, and enter the field mega evolved (see: Mega Lopunny in Fighting). Pokemon that lose the proper type on mega evolution may not be used (see: Mega Aggron in Rock).
Special Rule #3: Silvally can be used, but it must hold the Memory associated with the typing of the team, unless you are Normal, in which case, you cannot use a Memory. Silvally will be immune to any item-changing/removing effect if it is holding a Memory item, and Knock Off will get a boosted BAP against a Silvally holding a Memory.
Arena
The ASB Tournament Arena
Field Type: Neutral
Complexity: Simple
Format: All

Restrictions: No Restrictions

Description: Surrounded by thousands of screaming Pokémon fans, the ASB Arena can be best described as a standard Pokémon battling arena. In the centre of the arena lies a dirt-based floor outlined to show two separate sides (with a white Poké Ball centre). Surrounding the dirt is a moat filled with water. The moat is about 4.5m wide & creates a perimeter around the dirt arena. The arena itself is 24m wide, 33m long. All moves, weathers, and abilities are legal for the match, since it is an outdoor arena with a large water source & packed dirt. Pokémon must stay in the arena (or the dimensions of the arena in the case of Flying-type Pokémon, who cannot leave the arena & cannot fly higher than 18m). This prevents Pokémon from injuring the crowd watching the tournament. There are no outside interruptions by fans, Pokémon, or other elements not associated with the current battle.

Camerupt [M] [Bolin]
Nature: Quiet
Type: Fire/Ground || Fire/Ground (Mega)

[Abilities]
Magma Armor (Passive)
This Pokemon has a strong, heated armor that makes it incapable of being frozen. The armor also reduces the Base Attack Power of all incoming attacks by one (1).

Solid Rock (Passive)
This Pokemon's body is extremely solid and durable, and the Base Attack Power of incoming super-effective attacks is reduced by two (2).

Anger Point (Passive) [Hidden]
When struck with a critical hit, this Pokemon becomes enraged and its Attack rises to maximum (Stage 6). However, its Attack will drop up to two (2) stages at the end of each round instead of one (1) stage until it reaches the current natural stage.

Sheer Force (Toggle) [Mega]
By default this Pokemon can energize all its attacks with a secondary effect (These are damaging moves that either lower the target's stats, raise the user's stats, or inflict a status condition on the target). The Base Attack Power of every move with a secondary effect increases by two (2), but they will never have their usual secondary effect. When toggled, no effect.

Metagross [Hawking] (-) @ Metagrossite
NATURE: Serious
TYPE: Steel | Psychic
Steel: Steel STAB; immune to Sandstorm damage, immune to Poison/Toxic status, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, making them susceptible to Poison-type attacks and Poison/Toxic Status.
Psychic: Psychic STAB; can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.

ABILITIES: Clear Body | Light Metal
Clear Body: This Pokemon's body structure makes it immune to stat-lowering moves used by opponents. (e.g. Intimidate, Growl, Screech etc.)
Light Metal: The Pokemon's body is made of a lightweight but extremely strong alloy. It weighs half as much as other members of the species, but is equally sturdy. The Pokemon executes weak attacks much more effectively, adding +1 priority to all their attacks with 6 or less Base Attack Power (after other ability adjustments). Light Metal assumes the maximum possible hits from a multi-hit move for the purposes of priority (e.g. Double Kick gets priority as it reaches 6 BAP, Bullet Seed does not get priority as it reaches 15 BAP).

Steel: Steel STAB; immune to Sandstorm damage, immune to Poison/Toxic status, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, making them susceptible to Poison-type attacks and Poison/Toxic Status.

ABILITIES: Water Veil | Heatproof | Light Metal
Water Veil: Pokemon with this ability always have their body coated in a layer of water which prevents burns.
Heatproof: This Pokemon's mirror-like alloyed skin protects it from Fire-type attacks, reducing the type effectiveness of Fire-typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.) The damage inflicted by burns is also cut in half.
Light Metal: The Pokemon's body is made of a lightweight but extremely strong alloy. It weighs half as much as other members of the species, but is equally sturdy. Steel: Steel STAB; immune to Sandstorm damage, immune to Poison/Toxic status, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, making them susceptible to Poison-type attacks and Poison/Toxic Status.

ABILITIES: Sand Rush | Sand Force | Mold Breaker
Sand Rush: This Pokemon thrives in Sandstorm conditions, feeling more at home in them than all other Pokemon. This Pokemon's Base Speed is doubled (x2) in a Sandstorm. Pokemon with this ability are immune to Sandstorm damage.
Sand Force: This Pokemon thrives in Sandstorm conditions, using the power of the swirling sand to augment its Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-typed attacks. Each of this Pokemon's Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-typed attacks will have the Base Attack Power increased by two (2). Pokemon with this ability are immune to Sandstorm damage.
Mold Breaker: Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities. (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, etc.) Attacks are still redirected by Lightningrod/Storm Drain, but damage is dealt normally. Status-immunity abilities such as Limber will remove their relevant status at the start of the victim's next action.

TYPE: Ghost | Steel
Ghost: Ghost STAB; immune to the effects of full trapping moves and the Arena Trap, Magnet Pull, and Shadow Tag abilities. Ghost types can switch out while affected by a partial trapping move, but they will be damaged every action by their effect.

ABILITIES: Frisk | Limber | Cursed Body
Frisk: The Pokemon has intimate knowledge of the opponent's held item and ignores any item-based increases or decreases in damage, BAP and STAB from the opponent's item. This will not block the increase in BAP moves like Acrobatics and Knock Off that incur when an item is or isn't held. Item-Based increase in ranks (Such as from Rare Candy) are not negated by Frisk. The Pokemon will not be affected by Fling or Natural Gift.
Limber: This Pokemon's body is well trained and immune to paralysis. If the Pokemon with this Ability is Electric-type, this Pokemon's Speed cannot be lowered by any method, including self-inflicted reductions.
Cursed Body: When this Pokemon is struck by an opponent's attack, there is a 30% chance that the attack will be disabled for six (6) actions. Only one of the opponent's attacks can be disabled at a time due to Cursed Body. A Pokemon with an attack disabled by Cursed Body cannot have another one disabled by Disable, and vice versa.

What we have here folks is a lesson in how not to order first. Be it due to a match up related psych out or perhaps just early nerves PT sees towards a horrible set of orders which smash is able to totally exploit to horrible effect. Light Screening in blind against a Pyroak is something in itself but I think the biggest lesson our Steel touting competitor has learned here is just how punishing sluggish can be. While folks usually throw around sluggish causing moves with nary a care in the world they do result in a little thing like being unable to protect against things you might want to. You know, things like Flare Blitz comboes from raging Pyroaks. Especially when they can do things like ORKO your Mega Metagross while you barely take a quarter from the Pyroak in the very same round. Hopefully these are lessons we only have to learn once. Oh actually on second thoughts the KO was entirely due to the unluckiest of Giga Impact crits, but the majority of my points still stand. Sorry PT :(
