Confluxx [Old]

Banned deucer.
Cycle 7: Bug

The type for this cycle of Monotype Theorymon is Bug! Will be interesting to see some ideas that would bring more viability to some of the low ranked Bug-types because there are quite a few cool ones. Check out the Monotype Viability Rankings to get a clue of what Pokemon you should submit your ideas for.
You have until Friday 08/07/2016.

Bug / Dark Escavalier
Escavalier @ Assault Vest
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off / Pursuit
- Drill Run
- Sucker Punch
- Megahorn
escavalier has pretty decent bulk and a good defensive typing, but is generally outclassed by scizor, which has Technician and more raw power, as well as priority. however, with tough claws and sucker punch, escavalier becomes a scary threat with a base 135 attack, as well as sucker punch making up for its speed.
Sucker punch also nabs the ko on victini, which is annoying for bug.
252+ Atk Tough Claws Escavalier Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Victini: 384-452 (112.6 - 132.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Sheer Force Accelgor + Ghost Typing

Accelgor (Bug/Ghost) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Focus Blast
- Spikes / Recover / Bug Buzz / HP Rock / Encore

Accelgor has always had a pretty interesting movepool and absurd speed tier, let down by his lack of offensive clout. Sheer Force solves that by giving Accelgor the power to severely threaten many types with powerful boosted Bug Buzz, while ghost typing and shadow ball give it a powerful secondary STAB to abuse. Energy Ball gives Accelgor the grass coverage to take Yanmega's place in the water match up as Wincon, and Focus Blast gives the fighting coverage to break all the steel types Yanmega can't. It also gives Bug a spinblocker!

252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Accelgor Bug Buzz vs. 232 HP / 4 SpD Mega Venusaur: 177-211 (49.3 - 58.7%) -- 97.7% chance to 2HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Accelgor Bug Buzz vs. 240 HP / 0 SpD Mandibuzz: 218-257 (51.7 - 61%) -- 94.1% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Accelgor Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 180 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 416-494 (103.2 - 122.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Accelgor Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 180+ SpD Zapdos: 153-181 (39.9 - 47.2%) -- 95.3% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Accelgor Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 188+ SpD Heatran: 268-317 (69.4 - 82.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Accelgor Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Empoleon: 265-312 (71.4 - 84%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Accelgor Energy Ball vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Keldeo: 304-359 (94.1 - 111.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Accelgor Energy Ball vs. 252 HP / 112 SpD Hippowdon: 315-372 (75 - 88.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Beedrill @ Beedrillite
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- X-Scissor
- Poison Jab
- Drill Run

Giving beedrill moxie before it mega evolves gives it the extra boost in power that beedrill would be looking for, without having to use a move like fell stinger and swords dance to boost its attack, which ultimately take away from beedrill's already limited coverage.

Although mega beedrill is known to be a powerhouse, it often lacks the power and coverage necessary to effectively finish off mons without tremendous switching in and out along with additional support. With spore, beedrill can now put those annoying mons to sleep that would wall it, or the others that would live a hit and KO back with ease.

Waszap walking to baes house like...

Bug/Dark
Pinsir @ Life Orb
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Sucker Punch
- X-Scissor
- Close Combat

-Being Bug/Dark increases Sucker Punches damage output cuz of STAB
-Extreme Speed just helps more then Quick attack for both priority and power
-Moxie for raising its attack one it gets a OHKO which is good cuz of its double priority
