Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Yeah, I have a modified version of RNG Reporter that I completed today. It does that too. Hopefully, in a week or two one of those versions will go "Gold" and be available for download.

You said Inner Focus.

I have a question regarding sweet scented pokemon in Platinum. Is it possible to control which pokemon appears when you sweet scent?
Right click on the Method J\K frame in RNG Reporter to get the encounter slot for that frame. The encounter slot (along with an accompanying table) will tell you which Pokemon appears on each slot.

I have a couple questions, just on the general process of RNG breeding

In the first post it says
"
- Double clicking the Pokétch Happiness Checker Application will advance the Incubator RNG by the number of Pokémon in your party multiplied by two.
- Switching to the Pokétch Happiness Checker Application will advance the Incubator RNG by the number of Pokémon in your party multiplied by two."

So does that mean that I can switch to the happiness checker X amount of times rather than tap? (+1 of course, since you always have to switch to it anyway to start tapping)
Secondly, if you start on the happiness checker, does that just screw up your taps in general, or can you tap an extra time to balance it out?

Thirdly, and completely unrelated, when making eggs that are supposed to hatch shiny in somebody elses game, is it required to use a normal (not foreign) ditto? Because I tried it for somebody with my japanese one and it came out unshiny.

1) Yeah, you can if you want. I wouldn't do it on D/P due to having to fully cycle through it everytime. And even in Platinum it's probably faster to just double tap. But that works too.
2) Just do another tap and it's fine. Just remeber to add it on there.
3) Chances are that if it hatches shiny in your game, it won't on anyone elses unless they have the same ID combo. Although when it hatches it will appear shiny in the hatching video, it's page will be non-shiny. But no, foreign isn't needed. It just gives you x4 chances of it being shiny.

You didn't do anything wrong, you just can't use RNG Reporter to find your spreads. I built a tool in Java that will search for international eggs that someone else can hatch shiny. PM me your e-mail and the version of Java you have, and I'll send it to you.

I was told in Plat... if you put in a gba cartridge... it changes the from from odd to even or vice versa... when do I put the game in? and does it add or subtract 1? (I hit 57 without a gba cartridge, and need to hit 58)

Adding/removing a Pokemon GBA changes the delay, not the frame. To advance the frame by 1 take 1 step/turn in grass/cave or wait for a wandering NPC to push it forward.

well that explains it... thanks... for some reason when I was checking my frame I got even.... and noiw the stupid cowgirl keeps taking a step.... BITCH!

I dont think theres a definate answer to that but sometimes it takes me 15 mins sometimes it takes hours..... (like now)
ah, 'cause it's taken me over three days... i thought i was doing something wrong since i see a lot of "hit my delay on the second try" but I guess I just have to keep trying...

That's why I asked, that program doesn't work on my Computer for some odd reason.
Oh =/
Ill search for you, ill edit it in this post so keep a'look out for it =)
It should take like 6 mins so...

EDIT: Phallylapper

Are you using a timer, or blindly mashing A? The single biggest increase in my speed was when I started using a timer. Otherwise it's just practice.

I've just been blindly mashing A. So by using a timer you mean, I have like a stopwatch up when I reset, and I hit the continue screen when it counts to whatever time i need?

I mean like emloop or PikaTimer, but yea you've got the right concept. Since delay increases ~60 times per second you can add to your calibrated time to match any target delay and then hit A when your timer runs out. Just set your timer to: Increase in delay/60 + Calibrated second.

makes sense to me, but where do i find PikaTimer or emloop?

Yea PikaTimer is definitely easier. When you input your calibrated delay put something a little lower then the lowest delay you've hit. For example, the lowest I've hit is 596, so PikaTimer is set at 586. It takes a little trial and error, but you should quickly see a pattern to how far off you are. Add (subtract if it's negative) the difference of actual and target delay from calibrated delay. When I started with PikaTimer I used 596, and kept hitting 10 lower then my target. Subtract and voila I'm spot on. Last tip, don't bother with the Update feature. Constantly changing the timer makes it harder to hit a delay.

EDIT: What version of Java are you running? Yes, emloop works for DPPt.
