Moves
========
  • Thunder Wave is a good support move than can be really annoying to the opposing team if they have no Cleric.
  • Psyshock is main STAB and make it so Musharna can do something back to certain Taunt/Sub users as well as attack the Pokemon Musharna is used to switch into. Psyshock over Psychic to better check CM Virizion.
  • Moonlight is decent recovery move that allows Musharna to stay healthy.
  • Baton Pass allows Musharna to be a really strong pivot because it lets Musharna maintain or gain momentum which can be extremely helpful in pressuring opposing teams.
  • Healing Wish can be used instead if you need something to revive a weakened setup sweeper late game to give it another chance to sweep once the opposing team is weakened.

Set Details
========
  • EV Spread and nature maximizes Musharna's Physical Defense.
  • Synchronize is Musharna's best ability and makes Pokemon slow to click a status move against it.
  • What item you use is really up to preference. You can use Colbur Berry to switch help better switch into fighting types with Knock Off or getting surprise Thunder Waves off against things like Houndoom, Sneasel, and Absol. You can also use Leftovers which gives helpful turn by turn recovery and can further increase Musharna's already impressive longevity.

Usage Tips
========
  • Use Musharna to switch into physical hits that it isn't weak against mostly.
  • Once you Musharna is in you should spread Thunder Wave if the opponent lacks a Mega Steelix or ground type that would be brought into Musharna, you need something to be slower for late game, or if you just want the chance of a full paralysis. If most of your team is faster than the opponents sometimes it is not even worth it.
  • You can also Baton Pass which is helpful for momentum that can pressure the opponent. Sometimes you need to weigh your options and decide weather Thunder Wave or Baton Pass is the better move in that situation.
  • Try to keep Musharna relatively healthy so it is able to switch into the things it is needed for.

Team Options
========
  • Pokemon that appreciate the momentum that comes with Baton Pass such as Volt Switch and U-turn users to continue this momentum or wallbreakers that can use the the free switch in to get a hit off.
  • Sweepers that appreciate Thunder Wave support such as Absol, Scrafty, and Houndoom.
  • Pursuit trapper to stop Hoopa from getting free Shadow Balls off.
  • Fighting-types to Baton Pass into or check Dark-types.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Specially Defensive
  • Can run Relaxed / 0 Spe IVs to maintain slow Baton Pass against Paralyzed mons but being outrun by Min Spe Escavalier can be annoying.
  • Calm Mind + Baton Pass/2Atk
  • Specs + Trick
  • Curse Pass to Unburden user
  • Offensive Trick Room

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Pokemon such as Bronzong, Registeel, and especially Mega Steelix since it can't be bother by Thunder Wave all don't care about anything Musharna can do and can Toxic it without being synchronized.

**Substitute Users**: The two most important Substitute + set up move users in the tier, Meloetta and Braviary both Substitute freely on Musharna and use it as set up fodder.

**Escavalier**: Escavalier doesn't care about anything Musharna does thanks to its typing and good special bulk. Thunder Wave can be a tad annoying because of the full para chance but since it already has extremely low Speed it doesn't effect it much outside of that. Escavalier can click Megahorn back and easily 2HKO.

**Taunt Users**: Pokemon that commonly run Taunt such as Spiritomb and Drapion completely shut down Musharna excluding Qwilfish because Musarna has a Super Effective move to hit it with.

**Dark-types**: These are much less weary especially since a lot of Musharna run Colbur Berry and can easily take any Knock Off at full without it anyways and get off Thunder Wave. Pokemon like Houndoom, Sneasel, and Absol can all check it when it is at a certain amount of HP or is not holding a Colbur Berry pretty easily though.

You could mention signal beam, as with colbur, it lures and KOs Absol.

I actually think colbur should be the only item on this set, due to the prevalence of darkspam in this meta.

Mention CM pass in OO or as a main set, as musharna's bulk allows it to set up on many mons like steelix, sigilyph, and delphox lacking shadow ball.

Baton Pass is really what sets Musharna apart IMO, so it should be stressed that Healing Wish should be used under specific circumstances.

Explain why offensive sets are bad in oo, as delphox, slowking and sigilyph outclass it.

atomicllamas

but then what's left of me?

Mention Curse Pass to Unburden lee in OO

"Good defensive typing" is an exaggeration, mono psychic is okay, but its basically only useful for its fight and psychic resistance

uhh its pretty straightforward so I'd say this is qc approved 1/3

maybe its worth running -Spe nature and 0 Speed IVs on the baton pass version to underspeed t waved mons with mushy when baton passing out.
