ORAS LC My LC Team Scarfed Bunnelby

Hello everyone , I made a LC team I thought I would share it with everyone ;) Enjoy!



Thumbs (Aipom) @ Life Orb
Ability: Pickup
Level: 5
EVs: 76 HP / 196 Atk / 236 Spe

I love using Aipom better then the other fake out users like Buneary and Mienfoo because it gets STAB with Fake Out, and Return, Mienfoo's Drain Punch does less then Return from an Aipom. Well, SylvMaster Buneary gets STAB with fake out aswell, that is true but, Aipom's base attack is higher then Buneary. It is true that Aipom's ability are kinda worthless except for Skill Link if you are running DoubleSlap or Fury Swipes. Aipom can deal immense damage to almost anyone. Usually people send out their leads to set up rocks or something, for an example. If they had a Bronzor you can fake out to break any potential sash, then knock off it , from experience Bronzor takes a Knock Off well if it has Eviolite but it is a 2 hit KO. With Ferroseed I don't bother Fake Outing it because I will do more damage to myself then him because of Iron Barbs, so I knock off then brick break then boom dead. Fake out is for STAB priority, Brick Break for type coverages for Ferroseed's and Pawniard's. Return is for STAB, and Knock off for any pokemon that might give you trouble with their items like Eviolite. I ran Life Orb so Aipom's attacks do even MORE. It's usually me 2nd lead when Onix dies.




Silence (Abra) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Guard
Level: 5
EVs: 236 SpA / 20 SpD / 252 Spe

Did you know Abra has the highest base Sp.Atk in LC? Abra is really fast and has high special attack, thanks to it's amazing ability Magic Guard it only receives damage from direct hits, so it won't take damage from hazards or weather like sandstorm and hail. So it is guaranteed to live 1 hit because it's sash will never be broken unless you attack it. Abra is really frail so I ran Sash then Life Orb because it seems more reliable. Abra's job is to take out enemies really fast and big threats who are really fast. I ran HP Fight. over dazzling gleam because Pawniard's are mostly common and Dazzling Gleam does neutral because of it's part steel type. I don't see any other dark types in LC, it is true that HP Fight. does less than Dazzling Gleam but I told you Pawniard's are a thing. Psychic is for STAB, Shadow Ball is a good type coverage move for any other Psychic types, and Energy Ball is for type coverage for any Tirtouga's who try setting up on you and for any other Rock, Ground and Water pokemon.



Dwarf (Bunnelby) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Huge Power
Level: 5
EVs: 52 HP / 236 Atk / 220 Spe

- U-turn / Stone Edge

I love Bunnelby's ability Huge Power it is technically a Choice Band but you can use different moves instead of using 1 move. Bunnelby has an average speed but with Choice Scarf it can outspeed anything unless if their running a choice scarf set aswell. It is technically A Choice Band + Choice Scarf = Destruction. Bunnelby KO'S mostly everything. Return is for a good STAB move, Quick Attack is for Priority even though I have Choice Scarf it will outspeed any pokemon using Sucker Punch like Diglett , Pawniard etc... Earthquake is for any steel types like Magnemite, Pawniard etc... I like U-turn better because I will guarantee to outspeed them unless they are scarfed and I can guess some chip damage as well.



Ustar (Staryu) @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
Level: 5
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 196 SpA / 76 SpD / 236 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Psychic
- Rapid Spin / Dazzling Gleam

Staryu is really fast and has quite a high Sp.Atk, its maing job is to usually get rid of hazards like rocks, spikes etc... Sometimes with Scald it can cripple the opponent by burning them. With the Life Orb
Scald does even more damage. Ice beam is for coverage for Grass types , and Psychic is a good move to have. I run Rapid Spin over dazzling gleam because I have no Defog user or Magic Bounce user.



Bronze (Onix) @ Eviolite
Ability: Sturdy
Level: 5
EVs: 76 HP / 196 Def / 236 SpD
Impish Nature
- Protect
- Stealth Rock
- Rock Blast
- Earthquake

Onix is so bulky especially with Eviolite to boosts its Def and Sp.Def. It is my lead so I can set up my rocks. Onix can usually can take up hits, its main job is to just set up rocks and tank up hits if anyone else on my team and can't take a hit well. I put Protect on it so I don't take the Fake Out damage from a Mienfoo or Aipom, so my sturdy doesn't break so I can for sure take 1 hit because of Sturdy, people usually sometimes lead out with their Fake Out pokemon. Rock Blast is for STAB, I didn't run Stone Edge because it can miss, and Rock Blast can break potential sashes on Abra's etc... Earthquake is a good STAB move and is one of the best moves in the pokemon games.




Strawberry Yogurt (Magby) @ Life Orb
Ability: Flame Body
Level: 5
EVs: 18 HP / 238 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fire Punch
- Thunder Punch
- Mach Punch
- Cross Chop

I realized that I have 3 Life Orb Pokemon which is half of my team but trust me it will work out. Magby is surprisingly fast and has high Atk. Magby has a really good move pool and has some moves that I thought it couldn't learn like Mach Punch. I did a physical set because it does have more Atk then Sp.Atk and has a better move pool for it's physical side. It's main job is to be a fast physical sweeper. Fire Punch is for a good STAB , Thunder Punch is for any Water Types so good type coverage, Mach Punch is for priority , and Cross Chop is a good type coverage for any tanks like Onix , Munchlax etc...



Threats:

Spritzee:
Spritzee are a real threat to my team because I have nothing to hit it hard with. I can send out Onix to tank up the hits but what's the point? It's just going to set up Calm Minds and going to Wish Protect stall so it can get hp back when it is on low hp. I don't have any status moves like Toxic, it might have aromatherapy or heal bell anyways

I'll be providing suggestions to improve your team while attempting to preserve the integrity of the original team structure as well as I can.

First, Aipom would benefit from switching your ability from Pickup to Skill Link, and in accordance replacing Return with Fury Swipes. The damage rolls work differently in Little Cup, and as such Fury Swipes deals a good deal higher damage than Return. I would also recommend using the standard effort value spread. I'll provide some examples in a hide tag below.

Vs. Timburr

Next, your Abra isn't utilizing its effort values as well as it could be. Given that you have Hidden Power, you need to allot an extra 4 ev's to each stat you wish to invest in in order to increase it by the regular amount. Unfortunately, when running Hidden Power, Abra lacks enough remaining values to boost a third stat, but 20 sdef values does not increase it either, so there isn't a change there. In summary, I recommend changing the stat spread to 240 SAtk / 240 Spe.

For Bunnelby, you only need 228 effort values in attack to maximize your investment, and I would move the 52 hp values into defense.

I don't see Magby doing much for your team. Furthermore, you are lacking a fighting answer. For these reasons, I would recommend replacing it with a Foongus. Foongus provides key resists to the ever common fighting and electric types, and can take water hits reliably as well. It also gives you a switch in to common electric types. This also helps with your Spritzee problem. In addition, I feel your team would benefit more from a more reliable hazard setter, so I would therefore recommend changing Onix to Pawniard. Pawniard adds a second form of knock off support as well as strong priority, while maintaining a flying resists. Finally, my changes gives you an additional source of priority, reducing the need for a revenge killer, so I would recommend changing Bunnelby to an Agility cleaner set (shoutout to whomever posted it in the creative sets thread).

hey bruh, gonna try to help u out with this squad. im going to begin with your stated weakness: Spritzee. You're correct in the analysis you cannot hit it hard (save aipom fury swipes, but u arent running that.) In choosing which mon to replace to add spritzee coverage, it helps to take a more broad view of your team. Your goal is to toss off Return bombs w/ scarf bunnelby. Volt-Turn supports helps immensely in that regard, as it allows more clean access to the field for bunny, often w/ a weakened opposing mon. Imo one of the best volt-turners that thwack spritzee is Magnemite. With a choice scarf, it outspeeds and hammers a lot of mons including spritzee. Set being:

Magnemite @ Choice Scarf

This mon gives you another bird check besides onix, which is always useful on HO- hits spritzee hard, and gives volt turn support. You still seem pawn weak, so im gonna recommend Mienfoo over Magby. Solid pawn switchin, provides knock off support, and gives move u-turn support. set being:

Now your team would look like: Onix / Staryu / Mienfoo / Bunnelby / Magnemite / Abra. With this team, i would change a couple of sets. For Staryu, i would advise going to an Evio-recover set:

this helps you with drillbur, a weakness, and allows you the longevity to have staryu as a general sponge for attacks. I would also advise Knock Off over Shadow Ball on abra to open up sweeps and Dazzling Gleam over Energy Ball because coverage on Vullaby is more important than hitting the waters u can now use mag to deal with. good luck
