[OVERVIEW]

Naviathan is one of the best sweepers on dual screens teams, as screens drastically reduce the amount of damage it takes during its setup. Guts and strong coverage options like Icicle Crash allow Naviathan to run a powerful Dragon Dance set that tears through most of the metagame. Additionally, its Speed tier allows it to outspeed common Choice Scarf users like Tapu Lele and Volkraken after a Dragon Dance boost, and its good physical bulk allows it to tackle Choice Scarf Kitsunoh pretty reliably. Naviathan notably acts as a Fairy-type answer and sets up on non-Low Kick Mega Crucibelle, which is important for these teams. However, the combination of neutral attacks and burn damage from Flame Orb wear it down rather quickly, meaning it is KOed easily. This means it cannot switch into attacks very easily and requires good opportunities to switch in to set up properly. Additionally, Naviathan competes with Magearna, which has significantly better special bulk, also resists Fairy-type moves, and can snowball with Soul-Heart.

Moves
========

Facade ensures that Naviathan isn't walled by Water-types. After a Dragon Dance boost, it OHKOes Greninja, Volkraken, Slowking, and Gastrodon and 2HKOes Toxapex, Snaelstrom, and Krilowatt. With some prior chip damage, it can even 2HKO Arghonaut. Icicle Crash rounds off Naviathan's coverage, OHKOing Jumbao and Landorus-T and 2HKOing Ferrothorn after some prior chip damage.

Set Details
========

A Jolly nature allows Naviathan to outspeed Tapu Lele, Volkraken, Aurumoth, Landorus-T, and Jumbao and Speed tie with Smokomodo. Because most of these Pokemon commonly Choice Scarf or boost their Speed, Naviathan can safely outspeed them after a boost as well. However, an Adamant nature can be run for a greater chance to 2HKO mixed defensive Arghonaut while still outspeeding Timid Mega Alakazam at +1.

Usage Tips
========

Naviathan performs best after the opposing team has been weakened so that it can clean up with its rather immediate power. Not setting up until Ferrothorn and Pyroak are weakened is ideal, as Naviathan needs a bit of chip damage to break through them. If Ferrothorn uses Protect, use Dragon Dance on that turn. Because Naviathan is extremely vulnerable to chip damage, avoid switching into Spikes or a neutral attack or setting up against a healthy Leech Seed user. Facade should be used against neutral targets, as it's stronger than Waterfall. However, if Facade doesn't net a KO, using Waterfall or Icicle Crash to fish for a flinch can turn games back into Naviathan's favor.

Team Options
========

Light Screen + Reflect Tapu Koko allows Naviathan to set up much more easily, allowing it to gain more than one Dragon Dance if played carefully and reach its maximum potential. Bulky Double Dance Aurumoth complements Naviathan well, switching into the Ground- and Fighting-types that prevent Naviathan from setting up. In return, Naviathan can switch into Pokemon like Mega Crucibelle and non-Focus Blast Tornadus-T and use them as setup bait. Stealth Rock users like Landorus-T and Tomohawk and Spikes users like Greninja help wear down the opposing team faster, letting Naviathan net more KOs more easily. Magnezone can trap and remove Ferrothorn and Celesteela altogether. Pajantom can also trap Tomohawk, Pyroak, and Zapdos with Spirit Shackle and remove them with Toxic or a Z-Move. Icium Z Kyurem-B removes bulky foes like Ferrothorn and Pyroak on the switch, making them ineffective switch-ins for a boosting Naviathan later in the match. Hawlucha is an excellent late-game cleaner for screens teams in case Naviathan or Aurumoth's sweep ends early.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Thunder Punch can be run for a greater chance to break past Arghonaut and to hit Celesteela harder, but it's hard to find a moveslot for it. Naviathan can run a stallbreaking set with Calm Mind, Taunt, and Slack Off, but one-move coverage and low speed make it struggle offensively, and the ubiquity of Cyclohm on stall teams makes it hard for Naviathan to break these teams anyway.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Grass-types**: Ferrothorn and Pyroak are good answers to Naviathan, as the former can wear it down with Iron Barbs and Leech Seed, while the latter can chip it with Earth Power or Roar it out.

**Fighting-types**: Arghonaut ignores Naviathan's boosts and can phaze it, but Guts-boosted Facade wears Arghonaut down fast. Tomohawk can Haze away Naviathan's boosts and stall it out, chipping it down with Rocky Helmet. While offensive variants can also remove Naviathan's boosts, Naviathan can 2HKO them back with an unboosted Facade. Hawlucha can outspeed Naviathan and nail it with High Jump Kick. Revenankh in particular uses Triage Drain Punch to outspeed even boosted Naviathan.

**Electric-types**: Zapdos and Cyclohm threaten Naviathan with Discharge and can tank an Icicle Crash in a pinch. Krilowatt outspeeds and OHKOes Naviathan before it sets up and can tank a +1 Facade if extremely healthy. Tapu Koko can only check Naviathan before it sets up. A healthy Magnezone can take a +1 Waterfall and OHKO back. Magnet Caribolt 2HKOes Naviathan with Quick Attack and can nearly OHKO it in the Electric Terrain that an opposing Tapu Koko sets up.

**Ground-types**: While Landorus-T, Smokomodo, and Fidgit have to watch out for Icicle Crash and Waterfall, their STAB moves can OHKO Naviathan before it sets up.

**Offensive Pressure**: The easiest way to prevent Naviathan from setting up is to deny it free setup opportunities. Choice Band Syclant, Greninja, Low Kick Mega Crucibelle, Mega Diancie, and Fightinium Z Tornadus-T are some examples of Pokemon that wear down Naviathan too much to survive a few turns of burn damage.

[OVERVIEW]

- Naviathan has access to two great and drastically different boosting sets.
- Between a diverse physical movepool and Guts and a targeted utility movepool and Heatproof, Naviathan can run a powerful Dragon Dance set or a potent Calm Mind set.
- With decent bulk backed by Steel typing to make it immune to Toxic and resist Stealth Rock, Naviathan can tank a neutral hit even uninvested.
- Above average speed at Base 97 lets it outspeed common Choice Scarf users like Tapu Lele and Volkraken at +1 for its Dragon Dance set and outspeed common defensive Pokemon, even without investment, for its Calm Mind set.
- Dragon Dance is extremely effective on Aurora Veil teams. Omit. A veil has dropped significantly in usage and I'm not exactly sure why Navi stands out for it.

- Despite Naviathan's strengths and versatility,
- Dragon Dance has trouble setting up and surviving many turns after if it doesn't KO everything in its path, and
- Calm Mind sets have to invest EVs in Defense to have acceptable physical bulk, leaving its low Special Defense open to supereffective Electric-type moves, even after a boost. Additionally, Calm Mind Naviathan has little utility against offensive teams.
- Because of how differently Dragon Dance and Calm Mind function, they appear on completely different team archetypes, so its fairly easy to guess which set Naviathan's running.
- Finally, both sets struggle to circumvent Focus Sash Dugtrio: Dragon Dance sets mostly have to rely on Waterfall or Icicle Crash flinches and Calm Mind sets must hit it on the switch-in and hope to burn away its last hit point. Omit, Dugtrio is irrelevant after the arena trap ban.

move 4: Thunder Punch / Psychic Fangs

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

- Dragon Dance boosts Naviathan's Attack and Speed, causing it to hit extremely hard and outspeed most things that can stop it. outspeed X, Y, Z example
- Heavy Slam usually reaches 120 BP with Naviathan's massive weight. Most targets that avoid the 120 BP benchmark like Gyarados struggle against its other moves. Most notably, Heavy Slam lets Naviathan break through Unaware Clefable. Many of Naviathan's checks like Mollux and Plasmanta are 2HKOed by this move unboosted.
- Icicle Crash allows Navitahan to hit Tangrowth, Cyclohm, Landorus-T, and Zygarde super effectively, while avoiding contact damage from Rocky Helmet or Rough Skin.
- Alternatively, Waterfall receives the STAB boost, maintains neutral or super effective coverage on relevant Ground-types like Landorus-T or Zygarde, and hits Pyroak for greater damage.
- Thunder Punch complements Icicle Crash's coverage well, hitting Gyarados, Skarmory, and Celesteela super effectively. Wild Charge is a more powerful option, but it wears down Naviathan extremely quickly.
- Psychic Fangs OHKOes Mollux and Plasmanta, meaning it does not have to rely completely on Heavy Slam to remove these Pokemon, and 2HKOes Toxapex and Arghonaut unboosted.
- Facade has high BP when Naviathan is burned, but it doesn't pair very well with Heavy Slam.

Set Details
========

- 252 Speed EVs and a Jolly Nature allows Naviathan to outspeed positive-natured base 95s like Tapu Lele, Colossoil, and Volkraken, as well as Aurumoth and Landorus-T.
- 252 Attack EVs maximizes Naviathan's damage output.
- Flame Orb + Guts lets Naviathan have a handy immunity to status ailments and hit extremely hard.

Usage Tips
========

- Try to switch-in Naviathan using safe Volt Switches and U-turns, as Flame Orb will activate after it switches in. Using double switches or sending out Navithan after a teammate has fainted works as well, but Naviathan will have to wait a turn for Flame Orb to activate.
- If the opposing team has a counter like Ferrothorn, Pyroak, or Arghonaut, do not attempt to set up unless they are severely weakened. Also, scout out for Choice Scarf users like Plasmanta, Syclant, Blacephalon, or Greninja that might surprise Naviathan and outspeed even after a Dragon Dance boost.
- Using an attacking move early-game to wear down Naviathan's checks might prove more useful than setting up; however, it's usually best to double-switch into a teammate if the opponent has a Ferrothorn or a Pyroak.
- Late-game, after Naviathan's checks and counters have been removed or weakened, set up Dragon Dance and attempt a sweep.

Team Options
========

- Strong wallbreakers appreciate Naviathan's ability to sweep weakened teams. Tapu Lele, Syclant, Mega Pinsir, and Tomohawk are good examples that can break through bulky Grass-type checks, and Landorus-T, Tapu Bulu, and Colossoil can break through Electric-type checks. Uh what Electric Mons does Tapu Bulu help with? He's very inconsistent with electric types; can hit Rotom-W and Krilowatt, doesn't do much to Zapdos and Cyclohm.
- U-turn and Volt Switch pivots like Rotom-W, Cyclohm, Syclant, Tapu Koko, and Mega Crucibelle help Naviathan switch in much easier.
- Stealth Rock users like Landorus-T and Tomohawk and Spikes users like Fidgit and Ferrothorn help wear down the opposing team faster, letting Naviathan net more KOes more easily.
- Fast Choice Scarf users like Keldeo and Latios can revenge kill Choice Scarfers that outpace +1 Naviathan. This line seems completely wishy washy and semi inaccurate. The only common scarfer slower that Keldeo but faster than +1 Navi is Blacephalon.
- Ninetales-A provides Aurora Veil support, which allows Naviathan to set up much more easily. Explain why Navi is good on hail teams.
- Memento or Healing Wish support from Latios or Tomohawk lets Naviathan set up much easier. Note that Healing Wish will cure Naviathan's burn, so it will have to wait a turn for Guts to activate again if Naviathan has retained its Flame Orb. Not sure how I feel about this line because these make any set upper be able to set up easier.

name: Calm Mind Stallbreaker
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Scald
move 3: Slack Off
move 4: Taunt / Hidden Power Ground
item: Leftovers
ability: Heatproof
nature: Bold Nature
evs: 216 HP / 244 Def / 48 Spe SEE COMMENTS BELOW

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

- Calm Mind patches up Naviathan's weak Special Defense stat and makes Scald hit hard after multiple boosts.
- Scald is the preferred attacking move, as its chance to burn and halve the opposing Pokemon's Attack stat pairs well with the Special Defense boosts from Calm Mind.
- Slack Off keeps Naviathan healthy throughout the match while boosting and lets it heal off damage taken from weaker attacks from the defensive Pokemon it sets up against.
- Taunt prevents defensive Pokemon like Chansey from recovering, prevents Pokemon like Tapu Fini from using its own Taunt, stops Haze from Toxapex, and stops opposing set up from Calm Mind Suicune and SubCoil Zygarde.
- Hidden Power Ground prevents Naviathan from being walled by Mollux and Plasmanta and can give Naviathan a shot against Electric-types like Magnezone and Cyclohm. However, Taunt is usually more useful since this set is primarily a stallbreaker.

Set Details
========

- 216 HP puts Naviathan's HP stat at 401, allowing it to tank four of Chansey's Seismic Toss from full health.
- In conjunction with the HP EVs, 244 Defense EVs and a Bold nature maximize Naviathan's physical bulk, as Naviathan will be shoring up its Special Defense through Calm Mind boosts. This is worded inaccurately as the EVs do NOT maximize its physical bulk.
- 48 Speed EVs lets Naviathan outspeed and use Taunt against SubCoil Zygarde, preventing it from using Substitute or Coil.
- Heatproof grants Naviathan an extra resistance to Fire-type moves, causing even powerful special Fire-type nukes' Fire Blasts like Mega Charizard Y and Choice Specs Volkraken to 3HKO after a Calm Mind boost. It halves burn damage as well, meaning burn won't completely negate Leftovers recovery.
- Leftovers is the preferred item to let Naviathan recovery HP passively.
- Wacan Berry is an option to tank a Discharge from Cyclohm or Zapdos when at +1, as Naviathan can stall these Pokemon out after two Calm Mind boosts.

Overall there seems to be a logical flaw with the EVs. 48 Speed EVs are important, so list that first. However, you have failed to show why it should have 216 HP and 244 Def over 252 HP and 208 Def. Yeah sure, you showed that 216 hits a seismic toss number, but this is somewhat useless when one takes into account Leftovers and recovery (and the ability to out taunt common taunters). Furthermore, 252 HP still lets it survive seismic tosses just as well while giving it slightly more special bulk. If there's some weird defensive benchmark that your EVs hit, then say it. But you didn't say it so I'm lead to believe you just made a mistake and didn't realize that 216 isn't needed for HP.

Usage Tips
========

- Switching Naviathan into resisted attacks like Toxapex's Scald, Tapu Lele's Psyshock, any of Volkraken's common attacks bar Hidden Power Ground, Tomohawk's Air Slash, Skarmory's Brave Bird, or Clefable's Moonblast lets Naviathan take as little damage as possible to set up with. Using safe Volt Switches, U-turns, and double-switches also lets Naviathan take little damage as well.
- Early-game, if there are heavy attackers or Electric-types on the opposing team, use Scald to burn the switch-ins, neutering most physical attackers and causing chip damage.
- When the opponent's team is sufficiently weakened, use Calm Mind to shore up Naviathan's weaker Special Defense stat and use Slack Off to recover health when needed.
- Against slower Pokemon like Skarmory, Clefable, Chansey, and Toxapex, using Taunt prevents these Pokemon from recovering health, hazing, or phazing Naviathan's boosts away. Be careful not to let the opponent force you to pick between Taunt and Slack Off; count Taunt turns. If Naviathan will go down in two hits, and Taunt has one turn left, use Slack Off and then Taunt on the next: this way the opponent remains neutered, and Naviathan retains its boosts and HP.

Team Options
========

- Naviathan appreciates Electric-types being removed from play: as such, Landorus-T, Pajantom, and Zygarde are some of Naviathan's best partners.
- Specially bulky Pokemon like Magearna, Celesteela, and Mollux help support Naviathan's bad special bulk and can wear down special attackers.
- Other stallbreakers can help Naviathan soften up stall-based teams: Smack Down Landorus-T and Syclant can help remove opposing Zapdos from play.
- Wish support from Clefable, Chansey, or Kitsunoh can help Naviathan set up more easily.
-List what type of team archetype this set is best used on, since in the overview you made it seem like it matters.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

- A bulky Dragon Dance set with Dragon Dance, Slack Off, Heavy Slam, Thunder Punch / Icicle Crash can set up more easily but the smaller coverage makes it hard to sweep effectively.
- Naviathan can run an offensive Calm Mind set and use its great special movepool of Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Flash Cannon, and Hurricane, but it can be hard to set up and have enough HP to be able to fire off these attacks effectively.
- Z-Splash grants Naviathan +3 Attack, but it can't reliably activate its Guts boost and is slower than most offensive Pokemon.
- Iron Defense could be used on the Calm Mind set to improve Naviathan's Defense as well, giving it a better shot against Zygarde, but it doesn't have the moveslot for it.
- Drill Peck is an option on Dragon Dance sets to hit both Pyroak and Tomohawk more (omit the word more sine Navi has options that hits Tomo for more damage than Drill Peck) effectively, but Icicle Crash is usually the better option.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Grass-types**: Grass-types generally have enough bulk to stomach hits from either of Naviathan's sets. Ferrothorn and Pyroak in particular can counter the Dragon Dance set if healthy enough and Tangrowth can annoy variants that don't run Icicle Crash, but they struggle against Naviathan's Calm Mind set if Naviathan has a boost.

**Bulky Electric-types**: Zapdos and Cyclohm threaten Naviathan with Discharge, can tank an Icicle Crash, and can wear down Calm Mind Naviathan down too fast if unboosted. Rotom-W can tank most of Naviathan's moves and strike back with Pain Split and Volt Switch. Tapu Koko and Krilowatt are outsped by boosted Dragon Dance sets, but otherwise maul Naviathan with Thunderbolt. Magnezone traps Naviathan, can tank a +1 Waterfall, and can break the Calm Mind set despite many a few boosts. Kyurem-B, while not an Electric-type, can still hit hard with Fusion Bolt. Give Kyu-B his own section, allowing you to have the space to point out that Naviathan's Heavy Slam does very poor damage against it which is the only reason why Kyu-B can even think of stopping Navi (with either Fusion Bolt or Earth Power).

**Water-type Immunities**: Mollux, Gastrodon, and Plasmanta sport Water-type immunties in Dry Skin and Storm Drain, meaning they can stop Calm Mind Naviathan in its tracks. However, Mollux and Plasmanta have to watch out for Psychic Fangs, Heavy Slam, and Hidden Power Ground.

**Fighting-types**: Defensive Fighting-types like Arghonaut and Tomohawk can stomach and stall out Dragon Dance Naviathan's onslaught in conjunction with their abilities and boost-removing capabilities. However, offensive variants don't have the bulk to stomach repeated hits. Keldeo, offensive Tomohawk, and Kerfluffle can hit hard with their STAB moves as well.

**Ground-types**: While Zygarde, Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Fidgit have to watch out for Icicle Crash, Waterfall, and Scald, their STAB moves can OHKO or 2HKO Naviathan. Notably Garchomp can outspeed Dragon Dance sets with a Choice Scarf.

**Other Fast Special Attackers**: Many common Special attackers carry enough firepower or coverage to KO or leave a hurt mark on Naviathan, such as Syclant, Mega Charizard Y, and Greninja. However, they are easily outsped and wiped out if Naviathan can set up a Dragon Dance. Choice Scarf Blacephalon can revenge Naviathan after one Dragon Dance but it is often unsafe for it to switch in.
Comments, etc in bold and strikethrough.

Implemented these edits, thanks HeaL. I think the CM set's EVs were something something Dugtrio but I might have just been dumb on it. Aurora Veil lets DD Naviathan operate at its best, but since Aurora Veil is not very popular at the moment I just left it in team options.

Sure, you've explained why veil helps Navi but you still haven't explained why Navi helps veil which is the crucial piece of the puzzle (since EVERYTHING is helped by veil but not everything helps veil teams). Off the top of my head, one of biggest things I see is Naviathan's ability to tank Bullet Punches and to deal with Steel Types that Nintales-A struggles with.

I'd also slightly reword the first line in Kyu-B: "**Kyurem-B**: Despite Kyurem-B's weakness to Heavy Slam Steel-type moves, it's colossal weight causes unboosted Heavy Slam to have a chance to 2HKO. drastically reduces the power of Naviathan's Heavy Slam, allowing it to survive the move even at +1."

Shore up the veil stuff and QC 1/3.

Hey, its a QC amcheck!

Overview
- Base 97 Speed allows Naviathan to outspeed common Choice Scarf users like Tapu Lele, Jumbao, and Volkraken at +1 for its Dragon Dance set and outspeed common defensive Pokemon, even without investment, for its Calm Mind set.
Examples for outspeeding common defensive Pokemon needed here.

Dragon Dance: Moves

- Facade ensures that Naviathan isn't walled by Water-types. After a Dragon Dance boost, it OHKOs Greninja, Volkraken, Slowking, and Gastrodon and 2HKOs Toxapex, Krilowatt, and Arghonaut. If forgoing Icicle Crash for Heavy Slam, it also OHKOs Jumbao and Zygarde after a bit of chip damage.
Also the best option against Plasmanta and most notably Mollux, especially at +1, unless running the extremely niche Psychic Fangs.

Usage Tips

- By not using a safe Volt Switch or U-turn and instead a free switch-in, Naviathan can set up a Dragon Dance before Flame Orb activates, saving a round of Life Flame Orb damage.
Team Options

- Naviathan wants teammates that can muscle past the checks it cannot beat. Magnezone in general is a great partner, trapping and removing Ferrothorn and Celesteeela from play. Hidden Power Fire users like Greninja can also lure out Ferrothorn and chip it down. Pajantom can also trap certain defensive checks with Spirit Shackle and remove them by with Toxic or a Z-Move.
Gotta be more specific than just certain defensive checks. If it beats a few specific defensive checks, name em! Same could also apply to that first sentence. Also, I'd add a few more mons to that Hidden Power Fire section. Greninja is a good example, but I think at least one more would be good.

Calm Mind

- Slack Off keeps Naviathan healthy throughout the match while boosting and lets it heal off damage taken from weaker attacks from the defensive Pokemon it sets up against.
Which defensive Pokemon? I don't think Pyroak can be set up on here...

Checks and Counters

**Bulky Electric-types**: Zapdos and Cyclohm threaten Naviathan with Discharge, can tank an Icicle Crash, and can wear down Calm Mind Naviathan down too fast if unboosted. Tapu Koko and Krilowatt are outsped by boosted Dragon Dance sets, but otherwise maul Naviathan with Thunderbolt. Magnezone traps Naviathan, can tank a +1 Waterfall, and can break the Calm Mind set, even if boosted.
Tapu Koko and Kril also have to seriously beware Facade when boosted.

**Water-type Immunities**: Gastrodon, Plasmanta, and Mollux sport Water-type immunties like Storm Drain and Dry Skin, meaning they can stop Calm Mind Naviathan in its tracks. However, Naviathan can run a Hidden Power to get around these counters.
Scarf Plas also outspeeds Dragon Dance Naviathan, even when +1. Still can't switch into it though.

**Fighting-types**: Tomohawk can Haze away Naviathan's boosts and stall out Dragon Dance Naviathan's onslaught, chipping it down with Rocky Helmet. However, offensive variants don't have the bulk to stomach repeated hits. Offensive Tomohawk and Kerfluffle can scare away unboosted Naviathan with Focus Blast or Aura Sphere. Revenankh in particular use Triage Drain Punch to outspeed even boosted Dragon Dance sets.
No mention of Arghonaut? Aside from annoying Scald burns, it pretty much stops a Calm Mind setup cold with Unaware and Circle Throw, although it can't do too much back.

Otherwise solid imo.

+1 to LucarioOfLegends check, implement that. Also included a check of my own that will put this at QC 1/3 once implemented.
[OVERVIEW]

- Naviathan has access to two drastically different boosting sets.
- A diverse physical movepool alongside Guts allows Naviathan to run a powerful Dragon Dance set, and a Taunt, Slack Off, and Heatproof gives Naviathan the tools to run a stallbreaking Calm Mind set.
- With decent bulk backed by Steel typing to make it immune to Toxic and resist Stealth Rock, Naviathan can tank a neutral hit even uninvested. Give some examples
- Base 97 Speed allows Naviathan to outspeed common Choice Scarf users like Tapu Lele, Jumbao, and Volkraken at +1 for its Dragon Dance set and outspeed common defensive Pokemon, even without investment, for its Calm Mind set.
You could go further into Naviathans actual niche, especially when you spend so much time on the flaws.
- Despite Naviathan's strengths and versatility,
- Dragon Dance has to run Flame Orb, which chips down Naviathan quickly, and its 3 move coverage leaves holes for hard counters to wall Naviathan. Inability to run a z-crystal is the most damning thing.
- Dragon Dance Naviathan also faces competition with Zygarde, who sports the most spammable move in the game, and Gyarados, who can beat Tomohawk and snowball with Moxie. Yet navi also has its own niche in outspeeding and beating Scarf Volkraken and Landorus.
- Its Calm Mind set has to be mono-attacking to run all of Calm Mind, Slack Off, and Taunt, leaving Naviathan hard-pressed to beat Pokemon with Water-type immunities like Gastrodon and Plasmanta.
- It also faces competition with Suicune, whose typing leaves it neutral to Ground-type moves and ability Pressure making it more frustrating to overcome. I'm honestly not sure if these competition mentions are worth mentioning if you're not going to go into what Naviathan's actual niche as a dd/cm user is in the overview, such as better speed and status immunity. without doing so, you're just painting navi to be a mon thats thoroughly outclassed when thats not entirely true.
- Additionally, because of how differently Dragon Dance and Calm Mind function, they appear on completely different team archetypes, so its fairly easy to guess which set Naviathan's running.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

- Dragon Dance boosts Naviathan's Attack and Speed, causing it to hit extremely hard and outspeed most things that can stop it.
- Waterfall ensures Naviathan will not be walled by Heatran by OHKOing it after a boost, as well as OHKOing Mega Crucibelle and Scarf Landorus-T.
- Icicle Crash is Naviathan's best move against Ferrothorn, 2HKOing after a bit of chip damage at +1. It also scores an OHKO on Landorus-T, Jumbao, and Zygarde.
- However Heavy Slam can be run over Icicle Crash, as it maintains it notably OHKOs Unaware Clefable. Icicle Crash's aforementioned targets are still 2HKOed by Facade.
- Thunder Punch is an option that hits some of the aforementioned slightly Water-types harder, as well as Celesteela harder than Waterfall.

Set Details
========

- 252 Speed EVs and a Jolly Nature allow Naviathan to outspeed Zygarde, Tapu Lele, Volkraken, Aurumoth, Landorus-T, and Jumbao, which is important because these Pokemon commonly boost their speed or equip a Choice Scarf.
- 252 Attack EVs maximize Naviathan's damage output.
- Flame Orb + Guts lets Naviathan have a handy immunity to status ailments and hit extremely hard at the cost of burn damage every turn.

Usage Tips
========

- Naviathan performs best after the opposing team has been weakened, so that it can clean up with its rather immediate power.
- If Naviathan runs Heavy Slam, then it can set up early to lure out Unaware Clefable.
- By not using a safe Volt Switch or U-turn and instead a free switch-in, Naviathan can set up a Dragon Dance before Flame Orb activates, saving a round of Life Orb damage.
- Setting up until Ferrothorn and Pyroak are weakened is ideal, as it needs a bit of chip damage to break through them. If Ferrothorn uses Protect, then Dragon Dance on that turn so that Icicle Crash can do more damage on the next turn.

Team Options
========

- Strong wallbreakers appreciate Naviathan's ability to sweep weakened teams. Tapu Lele, Syclant, Mega Pinsir, and Tomohawk are good examples that can break through bulky Naviathan's Grass-type checks, and Landorus-T, Jumbao, and Colossoil can break through its Electric-type checks.
- U-turn and Volt Switch pivots like Landorus-T, Syclant, Tapu Koko, and Mega Crucibelle help Naviathan switch in much easier.
- Stealth Rock users like Landorus-T and Tomohawk and Spikes users like Greninja and Ferrothorn help wear down the opposing team faster, letting Naviathan net more KOes more easily.
- Choice Scarf users like Volkraken, Jumbao, Greninja, and Tapu Lele can revenge kill Pokemon faster than Naviathan before it sets up.
- Ninetales-A provides Aurora Veil support, giving Naviathan enough to set up with much more HP to spare for Flame Orb recoil. Naviathan works very well on Aurora Veil teams due to its shored up special bulk and ability to break through many bulky Pokemon. Because Naviathan has its Guts boost, Heavy Slam is able to OHKO Unaware Clefable, which can wall other set up sweepers like Calm Mind + Shift Gear Magearna. Additionally, Naviathan resists common priority moves like Mega Pinsir's Quick Attack, Zygarde's Extreme Speed, and Mega Scizor's Bullet Punch, the last of which threatens Ninetales-A. Screens koko as well.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

- Taunt prevents defensive Pokemon like Chansey and Trace Jumbao from recovering, prevents Heatran from using its own Taunt, stops Haze from Toxapex, stops phazers like Roar Pyroak, and stops opposing set up from Calm Mind Suicune.
- Hidden Power Grass allows Naviathan to 2HKO Gastrodon at +1, which would otherwise wall Naviathan due to Storm Drain.
- Hidden Power Ground prevents Naviathan from being walled by Dry Skin Mollux and Storm Drain Plasmanta.

Set Details
========

- 100 Speed EVs and a Timid nature lets Naviathan outspeed Heatran and Trace Jumbao, allowing it to set up a Calm Mind boost before they can damage it.
- 252 HP EVs and 156 Defense EVs maximize Naviathan's physical bulk after the Speed EV investment, which is important because Navaithan will be boosting its Special Defense.
- Heatproof grants Naviathan an extra resistance to Fire-type moves, causing even Choice Specs Volkraken to 3HKO after a Calm Mind boost.

Usage Tips
========

- Switching Naviathan into resisted attacks like Toxapex's Scald, Tapu Lele's Psyshock, any of Volkraken's common attacks bar Hidden Power Ground, Tomohawk's Air Slash, or Clefable's Moonblast lets Naviathan take as little damage as possible to set up with. Using safe Volt Switches, U-turns, and double-switches also lets Naviathan take little damage as well.
- Early-game, if there are heavy attackers or Electric-types on the opposing team, use Scald to burn the switch-ins, neutering most physical attackers and chipping them down.
- When the opposing team cannot break Naviathan easily due to burns or fainted wallbreakers, find a set up opportunity and set up Calm Mind boosts.
- Against slower Pokemon like Skarmory, Clefable, Chansey, and Toxapex, using Taunt prevents these Pokemon from recovering health, hazing, or phazing Naviathan's boosts away. Be careful not to let the opponent force you to pick between Taunt and Slack Off, so count Taunt turns carefully. If Naviathan has to use Slack Off and Taunt often to set up, use Taunt, Calm Mind, and the Slack Off. This sequence will allow Naviathan to use Taunt turns efficiently, by neutering the opponent's Pokemon, boosting its Special Defesne, and then recovering.

Team Options
========

- Because of the specialized nature of this set, Calm Mind Naviathan fits best on bulky offense or balance teams who want a dedicated balance breaker.
- Naviathan appreciates Electric-types being removed from play before it sets up. As such Landorus-T, Pajantom, and Zygarde are some of Naviathan's best partners.
- Tapu Bulu's Grassy Terrain gives Naviathan more passive recovery and weakens Landorus-T's Earthquake to a 3HKO, giving Naviathan a chance to 2HKO with Scald. It's also a very good switch-in to non-Facade Colossoil.
- Specially bulky Pokemon like AV Magearna and Celesteela help support Naviathan's bad special bulk and can wear down special attackers.
- Wish support from Clefable, Chansey, or Jumbao can keep Naviathan healthy throughout the match, allowing it to set up multiple times.
- Pokemon that can beat Arghonaut, such as Mega Pinsir, offensive Tomohawk, and Jumbao, are important because Arghonaut ignores Naviathan's Calm Mind boosts and phazes with Circle Throw. Pajantom versus non knock off/foul play argho

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

- A bulky Dragon Dance set with Dragon Dance + Slack Off can work, but Naviathan's two move coverage of Waterfall and Facade can only take it so far.
- Naviathan can run an offensive Calm Mind set and use its respectable special movepool of Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Flash Cannon, and Hurricane, but it can be hard to set up and have enough HP to be able to fire off these attacks effectively.
- Iron Defense could be used on the Calm Mind set to improve Naviathan's Defense as well, giving it a better shot against Zygarde, but it doesn't have the moveslot for it.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Grass-types**: Ferrothorn and Pyroak are the best answers to the Dragon Dance set, as the former can wear it down with Iron Barbs and Leech Seed, while the latter can chip it with Earth Power or Roar it out. Jumbao can tank a Facade but has a harder time against Icicle Crash. As for the Calm Mind set, Ferrothorn has a hard time breaking Naviathan between Scald burns and Taunt, but Pyroak can still use Roar to phaze. Offensive Jumbao can take care of Naviathan before it accumulates too many boosts, but Trace variants need some chip damage for Hidden Power Ground to be effective.

Make this "Electric-types", I would be hard pressed to call koko bulky.

Revenankh in particular use Triage Drain Punch to outspeed even boosted Dragon Dance sets. keldeo in general gives it a lot of trouble, scarf is a hard check to dd, any set hard checks cm. also hawlucha as a check to either set.

**Ground-types**: While Zygarde, Landorus-T, Colossoil, and Fidgit have to watch out for Icicle Crash, Waterfall, and Scald, their STAB moves can OHKO or 2HKO Naviathan. Colossoil in particular cares very little about the Calm Mind set due to Guts

**Other Fast Special Attackers**: Many common special attackers carry enough firepower or coverage to KO or severely cripple Naviathan, such as Syclant, Greninja, and Ash-Greninja. However, they are easily outsped and wiped out if Naviathan can set up a Dragon Dance and struggle if Naviathan has accumulated some Calm Mind boosts.

Dragon Dance on screens is the way to go with this mon

aka Calm Mind is in OO / overview was revamped!

[OVERVIEW]

- Naviathan is one of the best abusers of Screens hyper offense, as screens drastically reduces the amount of damage Naviathan takes during its setup.
- For these teams, its Steel-typing is appreciated, checking Mega Crucibelle and using it as setup bait most of the time. [This point is too specific for the Overview, it should be moved to Team Options]
- Guts and strong coverage options like Icicle Crash and Facade allow Naviathan to run a powerful Dragon Dance set that tears through most of the metagame.
- Its speed tier allows it to outspeed common Choice Scarf abusers like Tapu Lele and Volkraken, and its good physical bulk allows it to tackle Choice Scarf Kitsunoh pretty reliably as well.

- On paper, Naviathan may seem broken, neutral attacks wear it down rather quickly, meaning burn damage will KO it even sooner. This means it cannot switch into attacks very easily and requires good switch-in opportunities to setup properly.
- It also must run Flame Orb to reliably activate Guts, meaning Naviathan cannot run a Z-Crystal to beat its bulkier counters. [Explain which are these counters]
- Annoyingly, the best two screens setters, Tapu Koko and Ninetales-A, summon field effects that harm Naviathan. Electric Terrain almost guarantees that Naviathan will not survive an Electric-type move, while the combination of Hail and burn damage chips down Naviathan quickly.

Moves
========

- Facade ensures that Naviathan isn't walled by Water-types. After a Dragon Dance boost, it OHKOs Greninja, Volkraken, Slowking, Plasmanta, and Gastrodon and 2HKOs Toxapex, Krilowatt, and Arghonaut. [Plasmanta is too niche to mention and Facade only has a negligible chance to 2HKO Arghonaut if Jolly]
- Icicle Crash is Naviathan's best move against Ferrothorn, 2HKOing after a bit of chip damage at +1. It also scores an OHKO on Landorus-T, Jumbao, and Zygarde. [This makes it sound like Ferrothorn is the main reason to run Icicle Crash, when the other ones are just as important. Change this point to reflect this better]
- Heavy Slam can be run over Icicle Crash, as it maintains [Small typo, fix] it notably OHKOs Unaware Clefable. However, Naviathan will be forced to rely on Facade to reliably damage Zygarde and Jumbao, which are not always OHKOed by the move.
- Thunder Punch is an option that hits some of the aforementioned slightly Water-types harder, as well as Celesteela harder than Waterfall, but Facade is generally a better option.

Set Details
========

- A Jolly Nature allow Naviathan to outspeed Zygarde, [Zygarde runs Adamant 99% of the time, so you don't need Jolly to outspeed] Tapu Lele, Volkraken, Aurumoth, Landorus-T, and Jumbao, which is important because these Pokemon commonly boost their speed or run Choice Scarf sets.
- However, an Adamant nature can be run for a greater chance to 2HKO mixed defensive Arghonaut, while still outspeeding Timid Mega Alakazam.

Usage Tips
========

- Naviathan performs best after the opposing team has been weakened, so that it can clean up with its rather immediate power.
- If Naviathan runs Heavy Slam, then it can set up earlier in the match to lure out Unaware Clefable and remove it. [Unaware Clefable is really uncommon, and it is a not a good check for Naviathan even without Heavy Slam]
- By not using a safe Volt Switch or U-turn and instead a free switch-in, Naviathan can set up a Dragon Dance before Flame Orb activates, saving a round of Flame Orb damage.
- Setting up until Ferrothorn and Pyroak are weakened is ideal, as it needs a bit of chip damage to break through them. If Ferrothorn uses Protect, then Dragon Dance on that turn so that Icicle Crash can do more damage on the next turn. [This just explains Dragon Dance mechanics, so it is unnecessary]
- Facade is stronger than Waterfall against neutral targets, so it's safer to use. However, if Facade doesn't KO, using Waterfall or Icicle Crash to fish for a flinch is a better strategy.
[Add a point about how important it is to avoid taking too much damage because of how vulnerable Naviathan is to passive damage]

Team Options
========

- Light Screen + Reflect Tapu Koko and Aurora Veil Ninetales-A allows Naviathan to set up much more easily, allowing it to gain more than one Dragon Dance if played carefully and reach its maximum potential.
- Bulky Double Dance Aurumoth complements Naviathan well, switching into the Ground- and Fighting-types that prevent Naviathan from setting up. In return, Naviathan can switch into Pokemon like Mega Crucibelle and Tornadus-T and use them as setup bait.
- Naviathan appreciates strong wallbreakers that wear down the opposing team Tapu Lele, Syclant, Mega Pinsir, and Tomohawk are good examples that can break through bulky Naviathan's Grass-type checks, and Landorus-T, Jumbao, and Colossoil can break through its Electric-type checks.
- Wearing down Steel-types is also essential to a Naviathan sweep. Magnezone traps and removes Ferrothorn and Celesteela. Hidden Power Fire Greninja can wear down Ferrothorn into Icicle Crash range. Pajantom can also trap Tomohawk, Pyroak, and Zapdos with Spirit Shackle and remove them with Toxic or a Z-Move. Icium Z Kyurem-B can wear down bulky foes like Ferrothorn and Pyroak on the switch, making them ineffective switch-ins for a boosting Naviathan later in the match.
- U-turn and Volt Switch pivots like Landorus-T, Syclant, Tapu Koko, and Mega Crucibelle help Naviathan switch in much easier.
- Stealth Rock users like Landorus-T and Tomohawk and Spikes users like Greninja help wear down the opposing team faster, letting Naviathan net more KOes more easily.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

- A bulky Dragon Dance set with Dragon Dance + Slack Off can set up against bulkier Pokemon more easily, but Naviathan's two move coverage of Waterfall and Facade leaves it walled by Necturna and Ferrothorn. [This could potentially lose you the game, so it is very important to mention]
- Naviathan can run a Calm Mind stallbreaking set with Calm Mind, Taunt, and Slack Off, but one-move coverage and low speed [Being slow is another big downfall of this set] makes it struggle offensively, and the ubiquity of Arghonaut and [Arghonaut fails to 2HKO with Earthquake even before the inevitable Scald burn and can't use Recover because of Taunt. Circle Throw might get rid of Naviathan temporally, but it will still eventually lose] Cyclohm on stall teams makes it hard for Naviathan to break these teams anyway.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Grass-types**: Ferrothorn and Pyroak are good the best [Calling them "the best answers" is a bit of a stretch] answers to Naviathan the Dragon Dance set, [Specifying Dragon Dance doesn't make much sense now that Calm Mind is in Other Options] as the former can wear it down with Iron Barbs and Leech Seed, while the latter can chip it with Earth Power or Roar it out. Jumbao can tank a Facade but has a harder time against Icicle Crash variants.

**Fighting-types**: Arghonaut ignores Naviathan's boosts and can phaze it out, but Guts-boosted Facade wears it down fast. Tomohawk can Haze away Naviathan's boosts and stall out it out, chipping it down with Rocky Helmet. However, offensive variants don't have the bulk to stomach repeated hits. [This phrasing makes it sound like offensive Tomohawk actually stands a chance, when in reality a +1 Facade has a good chance to OHKO, and even after using Haze, it still deals enough damage to automatically force Tomohawk out. Say that it can remove any boosts, but is always 2HKOed by Facade] Hawlucha can outspeed and nail Naviathan with High Jump Kick. Revenankh in particular use Triage Drain Punch to outspeed even boosted Dragon Dance sets.

**Electric-types**: Zapdos and Cyclohm threaten Naviathan with Discharge and can tank an Icicle Crash in a pinch. Krilowatt outspeeds and OHKOs Naviathan before it sets up and can tank a +1 Facade if extremely healthy. Tapu Koko can only check Naviathan before it sets up. Magnezone can trap Naviathan before it sets up and KO it as well [Magnezone can actually tank a +1 Waterfall, mention this].

**Ground-types**: While Zygarde, Landorus-T, Colossoil, [Colossoil is slower and will always be OHKOed by Waterfall, so it's not a good check at all] and Fidgit have to watch out for Icicle Crash, Waterfall, and Scald, their STAB moves can OHKO Naviathan before it sets up.

**Offensive Pressure**: The easiest way to prevent Naviathan from setting up is to deny it free setup opportunities. Choice Band Syclant, Greninja, Low Kick Mega Crucibelle, Mega Diancie, and Fightinium Z Torandus-T are some examples of Pokemon that wear down Naviathan too much to survive a few turns of burn damage.
2/3 once this is implemented. Well done.

[OVERVIEW]

Naviathan is one of the best abusers of Screens hyper offense, as screens drastically reduces the amount of damage Naviathan takes during its setup. Guts and strong coverage options like Icicle Crash and Facade Facade isn't really a "strong coverage" option. allow Naviathan to run a powerful Dragon Dance set that tears through most of the metagame. Additionally, its speed tier allows it to outspeed common Choice Scarf abusers like Tapu Lele and Volkraken, and its good physical bulk allows it to tackle Choice Scarf Kitsunoh pretty reliably as well. Naviathan is an important Fairy-type resist and also sets up on Mega Crucibelle, so mention those perks, because they're a core asset of Naviathan.

On paper, Naviathan may seem broken This is fluff., but even neutral attacks wear it down rather quickly, meaning burn damage will KO it even sooner. This means it cannot switch into attacks very easily and requires good switch-in opportunities to setup properly. Also, it also must run Flame Orb to reliably activate Guts, meaning Naviathan cannot run a Z-Crystal to beat its bulkier counters like Ferrothorn and Arghonaut. I don't really see why this is an inherently bad thing, because it's not like you'd want to run your Z-Move on Naviathan anyway. Remove. Finally, the best two screens setters, Tapu Koko and Ninetales-A, summon field effects that harm Naviathan. Electric Terrain almost guarantees that Naviathan will not survive an Electric-type move, while the combination of Hail and burn damage chips down Naviathan quickly. This last point is pretty insignificant; just remove it. Like I said on Discord, I think you should mention that Naviathan competes for a slot with other other screens abusers.

Facade ensures that Naviathan isn't walled by Water-types. After a Dragon Dance boost, it OHKOs Greninja, Volkraken, Slowking, and Gastrodon and 2HKOs Toxapex, Snaelstrom, and Krilowatt. With some prior chip damage, it can even 2HKO Arghonaut. Icicle Crash rounds off Naviathan's coverage, OHKOing Jumbao, Zygarde, and Landorus-T, and 2HKOing Ferrothorn after some prior chip damage. Heavy Slam can be run over Icicle Crash, as it notably OHKOs Unaware Clefable. However, Naviathan will be forced to rely on Facade to reliably damage Zygarde and Jumbao, which are not always OHKOed by the move. Heavy Slam is bad for the reasons you pointed out. Additionally, hitting UNAWARE Clefable, is not important, because it's UNAWARE Clefable. Thunder Punch is an option that hits some of the aforementioned slightly Water-types harder, as well as Celesteela harder than Waterfall, but Facade is generally a better option. This should be in Other Options.

Set Details
========

A Jolly Nature allows Naviathan to outspeed Tapu Lele, Volkraken, Aurumoth, Landorus-T, and Jumbao and to speed-tie with Smokomodo. Because most of these Pokemon commonly Choice Scarf or boost their speed, Naviathan can safely outspeed after a boost as well. However, an Adamant nature can be run for a greater chance to 2HKO mixed defensive Arghonaut, while still outspeeding Timid Mega Alakazam at +1.

Usage Tips
========

Naviathan performs best after the opposing team has been weakened, so that it can clean up with its rather immediate power. By not using a safe Volt Switch or U-turn and instead a free switch-in, Naviathan can set up a Dragon Dance before Flame Orb activates, saving a round of Flame Orb damage. What does this even mean? Setting up until Ferrothorn and Pyroak are weakened is ideal, as it needs a bit of chip damage to break through them. If Ferrothorn uses Protect, then Dragon Dance on that turn. Because Naviathan is extremely vulnerable to chip damage, avoid switching into Spikes or a neutral attack or setting up against a healthy Leech Seed user. Facade is stronger than Waterfall against neutral targets, so it's Naviathan's most spammable move. This is true, but I feel like it should be worded more like a Usage Tip. However, if Facade doesn't KO, using Waterfall or Icicle Crash to fish for a flinch can turn games back into Naviathan's favor.

Team Options
========

Light Screen + Reflect Tapu Koko and Aurora Veil Ninetales-A It's outclassed by Tapu Koko. allows Naviathan to set up much more easily, allowing it to gain more than one Dragon Dance if played carefully and reach its maximum potential. Naviathan appreciates strong wallbreakers that wear down the opposing team Tapu Lele, Syclant, Mega Pinsir, and Tomohawk are good examples that can break through bulky Naviathan's Grass-type checks, and Landorus-T, Jumbao, and Colossoil can break through its Electric-type checks. I had to read this sentence thrice to fully understand it. Besides, I don't think this is a particularly important thing, because Icicle Crash isn't slashed with anything. Wearing down Steel-types is also essential to a Naviathan sweep, but Magnezone can trap and remove Ferrothorn and Celesteela altogether. Hidden Power Fire Greninja can wear down Ferrothorn into Icicle Crash range. You'd run Suicide Lead Greninja with Naviathan if anything, so also mention Spikes and Toxic Spikes support. Pajantom can also trap Tomohawk, Pyroak, and Zapdos with Spirit Shackle and remove them with Toxic or a Z-Move. You wouldn't use Specially Defensive Pajantom on screens HO. Icium Z Kyurem-B can wear down bulky foes like Ferrothorn and Pyroak on the switch, making them ineffective switch-ins for a boosting Naviathan later in the match. I don't think "wear down" are the right words of choice here, because Kyurem-B always guarantees a KO, unless danced around cautiously, which is still very risky. U-turn and Volt Switch pivots like Landorus-T, Syclant, Tapu Koko, and Mega Crucibelle help Naviathan switch in much easier. Syclant isn't used commonly on HO, and Mega Crucibelle is pretty questionable as well. Additionally, Landorus-T sets that are run on HO teams shouldn't be running U-turn. Honestly, just remove this bit. Stealth Rock users like Landorus-T and Tomohawk and Spikes users like Greninja help wear down the opposing team faster, letting Naviathan net more KOes more easily. They're essential to HO teams so they should be mentioned way earlier in the section.

A bulky Dragon Dance set with Dragon Dance + Slack Off can set up against bulkier Pokemon more easily, but Naviathan's two move coverage of Waterfall and Facade leaves it walled by Necturna and Ferrothorn. This isn't something you'd ever consider on any serious team. Naviathan can run a Calm Mind stallbreaking set with Calm Mind, Taunt, and Slack Off, but one-move coverage and low speed makes it struggle offensively, and the ubiquity of Cyclohm on stall teams makes it hard for Naviathan to break these teams anyway.

Thunder Punch goes here, not sure about Heavy Slam because it doesn't really achieve much.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Grass-types**: Ferrothorn and Pyroak are good answers to Naviathan, as the former can wear it down with Iron Barbs and Leech Seed, while the latter can chip it with Earth Power or Roar it out. Jumbao can tank a Facade but has a harder time against Icicle Crash variants. Icicle Crash is now on the main set, so it's not really worth mentioning Jumbao at all.

**Fighting-types**: Arghonaut ignores Naviathan's boosts and can phaze it out, but Guts-boosted Facade wears it down fast. Tomohawk can Haze away Naviathan's boosts and stall out it out, chipping it down with Rocky Helmet. While offensive variants can also Haze away Naviathan's boosts, Naviathan can 2HKO it back with an unboosted Facade. Hawlucha can outspeed and nail Naviathan with High Jump Kick.

A healthy Magnezone can take a +1 Waterfall and OHKO back. Magnet Caribolt 2HKOs Naviathan with Quick Attack and can nearly OHKO in the Electric Terrain that an opposing Tapu Koko sets up.

**Ground-types**: While Zygarde, Landorus-T, Smokomodo, and Fidgit have to watch out for Icicle Crash and Waterfall, their STAB moves can OHKO Naviathan before it sets up.

Naviathan is one of the best sweepers on dual screens teams, as screens drastically reduces reduce the amount of damage Naviathan takes during its setup. However, even neutral attacks wear it down rather quickly, meaning burn damage from its Flame Orb will leave it KOed it even sooner. This means it cannot switch into attacks very easily and requires good switch-in opportunities to switch in to setup set up properly. Additionally, Naviathan competes with Magearna, which has significantly better special bulk, also resists Fairy-type moves, and can snowball with Soul-Heart, (AH) and Zygarde, which can run a bulkier Double Dance set, for a teamslot.

While offensive variants can also Haze away remove Naviathan's boosts, Naviathan can 2HKO it them back with an unboosted Facade. Hawlucha can outspeed and nail Naviathan and nail it with High Jump Kick. Revenankh in particular use Triage Drain Punch to outspeed even boosted Dragon Dance sets.

**Electric-types**: Zapdos and Cyclohm threaten Naviathan with Discharge and can tank an Icicle Crash in a pinch. Krilowatt outspeeds and OHKOs OHKOes Naviathan before it sets up and can tank a +1 Facade if extremely healthy. Tapu Koko can only check Naviathan before it sets up. A healthy Magnezone can take a +1 Waterfall and OHKO back. Magnet Caribolt 2HKOs 2HKOes Naviathan with Quick Attack and can nearly OHKO it in the Electric Terrain that an opposing Tapu Koko sets up.

**Ground-types**: While Zygarde, Landorus-T, Smokomodo, and Fidgit have to watch out for Icicle Crash and Waterfall, their STAB moves can OHKO Naviathan before it sets up.

**Offensive Pressure**: The easiest way to prevent Naviathan from setting up is to deny it free setup opportunities. Choice Band Syclant, Greninja, Low Kick Mega Crucibelle, Mega Diancie, and Fightinium Z Torandus-T Tornadus-T are some examples of Pokemon that wear down Naviathan too much to survive a few turns of burn damage.

[OVERVIEW]

Naviathan is one of the best sweepers on dual screens teams, as screens drastically reduce the amount of damage Naviathan it takes during its setup. Guts and strong coverage options like Icicle Crash allow Naviathan to run a powerful Dragon Dance set that tears through most of the metagame. Additionally, its Speed tier allows it to outspeed common Choice Scarf users like Tapu Lele and Volkraken after a Dragon Dance boost (optional, clarifies that you don't without one), and its good physical bulk allows it to tackle Choice Scarf Kitsunoh pretty reliably. Naviathan notably acts as a Fairy-type answer and sets up on non-Low Kick Mega Crucibelle, which is important for these teams.

However, even neutral attacks wear it down rather quickly (why? poor bulk? or is it because of Flame Orb also chipping away at it? if the latter, I'd say something like "the combination of neutral attacks and burn damage from its Flame Orb wears it down rather quickly, meaning it is KOed easily" assuming this all covers what you wanna convey here), meaning burn damage from its Flame Orb will leave it KOed even sooner. This means it cannot switch into attacks very easily and requires good opportunities to switch in to set up properly. Additionally, Naviathan competes with Magearna, which has significantly better special bulk, also resists Fairy-type moves, and can snowball with Soul-Heart.

Moves
========

Set Details
========

A Jolly nature allows Naviathan to outspeed Tapu Lele, Volkraken, Aurumoth, Landorus-T, and Jumbao and to Speed tie with Smokomodo.

Usage Tips
========

Naviathan performs best after the opposing team has been weakened,(RC) so that it can clean up with its rather immediate power.

========

Icium Z Kyurem-B remove removes bulky foes like Ferrothorn and Pyroak on the switch, making them ineffective switch-ins for a boosting Naviathan later in the match. Hawlucha is an excellent late-game cleaner for screens teams in case Naviathan or Aurumoth's sweep ends early.

Other Options
=============

===================

**Bulky Grass-types**: Ferrothorn and Pyroak are good answers to Naviathan, as the former can wear it down with Iron Barbs and Leech Seed, while the latter can chip it with Earth Power or Roar it out.

**Fighting-types**: Arghonaut ignores Naviathan's boosts and can phaze it, but Guts-boosted Facade wears it Arghonaut down fast. Tomohawk can Haze away Naviathan's boosts and stall out it out, chipping it down with Rocky Helmet. While offensive variants can also remove Naviathan's boosts, Naviathan can 2HKO them back with an unboosted Facade. Hawlucha can outspeed Naviathan and nail it with High Jump Kick. Revenankh in particular use Triage Drain Punch to outspeed even boosted Dragon Dance sets (could probably just say "boosted Naviathan" considering Dragon Dance is the only main set for this Pokemon).
