I have a feeling Tennis will be very good at this...
Alt: Dark Adaire Dark Horse:
Venom

The Squad:

Arbok 0.86622%
Xatu 13.39342%
Poliwrath 4.47033%
Rhydon 7.61862%
Roselia 0.53524%
Pinsir 4.03040%
Total: 30.91423

Thoughts:
Arbok is a really underated mon, it has a great movepool and a brilliant boosting move in coil which not only raises attack and defense, but accuracy so moves like gunk shot and aqua tail hit almost all of the time, not to mention being able to bop most psychic types with sucker punch which is benefitted from sneasel leaving making the psychic types not forced to run colbur. Not to mention its great abilities which both benefit it, intimidate lets it set up on some weak attackers and shed skin lets it set up on status users like lanturn or lilligant. Arbok truly is a dark horse.... or snake?

Team Usage: Lunatone (.35%) Poliwrath (4.47%) Liepard (8.67%) Hariyama (7.89) Dusclops (.92%) Probopass (1.37%) = 23.67

EDIT:
Lunatone has access to SR with a decent movepool. There's probably a better set Lunatone can use besides the one I chosen. It usually gets out sped by most of tier and it's frailness + common weaknesses limits potential. There's better psychics in the tier besides Lunatone but I had fun using it. The team struggled with offense...a lot.

Reading about this challenge reminded me of a conversation I had about PS with a friend who said that Jumpluff was really underrated in lower tiers. I don't know how well I'll do laddering with this team, but its definitely a good opportunity to see if he was right. It should be interesting to see how each dark horse selection performs on the ladder. Good luck, everyone!

I'll probably end up making changes to Sandslash and Gourgeist. I'll update here as soon as I change something.
I'm assuming discussion of the other people's Dark Horse projects are encouraged, but no one has done it yet so I just decided to jump in as an example.

Cool team there! My main problem I see with the team is that it literally gets manhandled by Archeops. At least you have Supergeist in an attempt to check Normals, and Supergeist is another really underrated threat, but currently your team is 6-0ed by standard offensive Archeops. It outspeeds and 1v1s majority of your team, gets perfect coverage, and resists / is immune to your key attacking moves, in Normal / Ground types. This is the most awkward thing for me about using Probopass, ever. You're automatically weak to Flying- and Normal-types unless you stick in another Rock-type or something like that. Or you put in a ghost type and you're weak to opposing Kangaskhan and Archeops. Or you go without a second normal resist by going on the offensive, but you get destroyed by Arch / Tauros because they outspeed a whole bunch of your team.

Probopass looks pretty cool, and given the rise of Psychic-types again, it seems like it puts in a fair amount of work. But using Probopass always presented me with a dilemma: either bring another member with redundant typing, or leave yourself open to a host of normals and fliers. I think it was one of the biggest challenges for me when I wanted to use Probopass, and I'm curious how you deal with it.

=)

Well I can't deny that Archeops poops on the entire team here, but building a team whit only 2 A rank mons was kind of hard for me since I couldn't add a Quagsire after adding both Kanga and Garb. After that was clear, I basically made the choice between getting wrecked by a mon that hates rocks or get wrecked by spikes (chose the first one). I was thinking about changing Slash to something that would fit better (maybe Stone Edge over Knock Off/Swords Dance would even be good) but since I'm a terrible teambuilder, I have no clue what that something might be.

About the Probopass being awkward type wise, I have to agree there as well. The thing is that it does force you to bring something that can check offensive normal types that bring EQ or a Fighting move but I don't really see the problem in that. Probo does an amazing job by just coming in on Psychic and flying (bar offensive Archeops) types or even defensive mons that try to wear down their opponent with Leech Seed, Toxic or Will-O and either forcing them out or taking another hit and swap to another teammate. Probo does take a lot of scouting and gambles from time to time though, and now I'm mostly referring to Jynx. Probo can perfectly deal with a boosting set without focus blast but I probably don't have to mention what happens if the opposing Jynx does carry Focus Blast.

Also I just can't stop looking at that mustache, don't judge me (PRAISE GODSTACHE).

PS: I believe discussing stuff is why we post it no? :p

Notes: Replaced Whiscash with Quagsire after a losing streak. Even fully defensive Whiscash just couldn't tank physical hits as much as Quagsire could, was easily taken out by a Samurott due to not having Water Absorb, and just became death fodder when I still needed it as a check.
