Arena: Leethoof's Alphabet Soup

The battlers are on a solid platform in the middle of a giant bowl filled with delicous broth. No move restrictions at all, because you can safely go seismetoad on the platform and there is plenty of broth to swampert your enemies with. In the soup, there is one of each letter unown floating in around aimlessly. They are all close enough to pick up, and a battler may use one action each round (they can't just use three unowns) to use any move that begins with that letter. Once an unown is used, it cannot be used again.

We've got to take this, STEP by STEP. We're faster than Gible, so let's try eliminating it first.

Absol, Ice Beam Giblex2

Metagross, Rain Dance~use Unown-I to Ice Punch Gible

Aerodactyl, Ice Fang Gible x2

Let us counter these actions of his as best as we can boys(and girl)!

Jinbe start by grabbing an Unown T for Trick Room, switching things up is the best we can do. After that Dig underground and hit Absol, that should sting with those paper defenses.

Unown Trick Room ~ Dig Absol

Ace you are the only one who will outspeed someone on their team, and that's Metagross, so time to sleep my little gross, Unown Spore go! Now Metagross might outspeed you, but he isn't aiming for you, YEAH! Now Torment Aero a bit, the will stop him from using Ice Fang for some time, starting with that action...

Unown Spore Metagross ~ Torment Absol's Ice Beam

Well MUDS, this is your first battle, lets test your abilities against strong opponents! Start off by grabbing an Unown R and release some Rage Powder from it, that should protect Jinbe and will also make Rain Dance fail should Metagross not sleep. And after that since you have become the fastest thing around, Slide some Rocks at all of them, hopefully they will flinch under your powerful rocks.

Welcome to this exciting match in a bowl of soup! Today ASB veteran Destiny Warrior, and ASB newb LightWolf, are battling together in an unfair match-up! Destiny Warrior starts the battle by naively spamming attacks on his pokemon, allowing his oppoenent to take advantage of his foolishness. Mudkip starts the battle by sending powder flying at his opponents. The small material lands on the other side, and uncomfortably begins to rest in many different parts of their body. They all become very cross with Mudkip, and begin to target him. Aerodacyl bares his teeth, and begins to fly around Mudkip. Then, suddenly, he swoops down, and his teeth are as cold as a Regice itself. On contact they freeze Mudkip, and the cold rushes though his body. Absol, slightly more calm than Aerodactyl, smirks at Mudkip, and fires a beam of cold ice at him, that sends Mudkip skidding backwards. Inside his ice coffin, Mudkip begins to worry about his fate. Then, Chimchar quickly decides to reach into the soup. An Unown, in the shape of an S appears, and Chimchar picks it up. Wondering what to do, he looks carefully at it, and suddenly visions start to run through his head. He sees a giant wave of water, a wave of electricity, someone singing and sketching, and some spores. Immediately, he throws the Unown at Metagross, and when it hits him, it explodes into many small spores, that cause Metagross to fall asleep. While Metagross is asleep, Gible reaches down into the soup, and picks up an Unown in the shape of a T. He throws it at the ground, and suddenly the room begins to spin, and turn, eventually putting it at such an angle, that the faster pokemon are slower than the slower pokemon! What powers do these Unwon hold, and what more can they do??

Mudkip, who would have been the fasted pokemon, sulks as he sits in his ice coffin watching the battle. He would get them, he knew he would! The second fastest, Gible, immediately digs underground, hoping to avoid some of the troubling things above ground, that make him feel exposed, and threatened. He was correct, for immediately, all 3 of Destiny Warrior's pokemon attack the spot where Gible would have been. Absol fired another cold beam, and Aerodactyl swooped in for a bite! Metagross had picked up an Unown in the shape of an I, and he had thrown it. IT pooped into an arm, and it punched the empty space where Gible had been. How had Gible known of the incoming assaults? Chimchar begins to Torment the Absol, and dark energy begins to surround Chimchar. He smirks, and the it hits Abosl like a Vanillish in the face. The dark energy had changed Absol. Just as Absol was weak, Gible pooped up, and Absol was stunned by the Gible's attack. It had caught Absol completely off guard! Although Destiny Warrior has a very strong team, it seems like his opponent is gaining an advantage.

Okay Jinbe you managed to avoid all those attacks, but not without a big cost, for that we need to make up quickly. Start off by grabbing an Unown C and use it for a Cross Chop, that should sting for Absol. After that go for a Rock Slide, lets make them feel what they missed last round, but the double dose this time...

Unown Cross Chop Absol ~ Rock Slide

MUDS you are stuck in ice for another round but don't worry, I will get you out, one way or another. Borrow the power of an Unown E and unleash a powerful Eruption, that should unfreeze you and damage the enemy, those last blows will lower the power though, but on the long run it's still worth it. Follow up with a Rock Slide for real this time, you and Jinbe together will sure make them cover in fear.

Unown Eruption ~ Rock Slide

Ace you disrupted their actions well, but we can't stop here yet. Go for an Unown Will-O-Wisp, that should lower the damage dealing potential of Aero. End it by Breaking Absol into little Bricks, that should do a number, even though you are lacking the Fighting STAB for now.

Absol starts of this round with a punch to Gible's face. He suspected an attack coming from the little runt, and he decided to something about it. Angry, the Gible swung his arms around, and those tiny stubs chopped Absol into tiny little Absol pieces! Do not upset a Gible...Aerodactyl then swooped down into the soup, and picked up a Unown P. He bit it, and then suddenly, a forcefield sorrounded him. He looked outside of his protective buuble, and he saw Mudkip holding something inside of his ice coffin. Mudkip tossed it into the air, and suddenly, lava started streaming everywhere. It melted the ice, and soon Aerodactyl's partners were drenched with lava. He thankfully survived because of the force-field. Wow, these Unowns sure to pack quite a punch! Then, Chimchar picked up another Unown. In the shape of a W, out came Will-O-Wisps aimed straight at Aerodactyl. They bounced of his force-field, and he laughed. Metagross decided to set up a reflective barrier that protected the entire team, hoping that it would have similar success to that of Aerodactyl.

Mudkip decided to use some of the rocks to create a rock slide. The rocks slid down onto his opponents team, crushing them. Absol was so crushed that he could not move or attack. Gible followed up the Rock Slide with one of his own! The rocks continued to slide, and this time, Metagross was barried uner them, unable to move. Aerodactyl had survived the blow, and swooped in with his fangs. He bit into Gible, and the ice cold material flowed through his body. chimchar decide to slam his fist into Absol, and in the process, broke the reflective shield. Although hard to believe, it seems like LightWolf's runts are getting somewhere!

Okay Jinbe, you took some hits there, but the damage dealt made it worth. First lets avoid some damage and deal some in return, use Dig aimed at Absol. After that grab an Unown F and Fake Metagross Out, no earth will quake here!

Dig Absol ~ Unown Fake Out Metagross

Ace, same as Jinbe, I want you to avoid taking too much damage, hit Absol with a Dig too. Now Absol should be out, lets focus on Aero, hit it with a powerful Counter, he gets that for aiming at you.

Dig Absol ~ Counter Aero

MUDS, you are doing well for your first match, keep going! Start off with Unown Muddy Water, for some nice damage against all of them. Now Scald Aero, burning him would help but damaging him is the most important.

With Absol almost dead, LightWolf decided to take him down once and for all. Mudkip started the battle by reaching into the soup, and grabbing an Unown M. He threw it into his mouth, and suddenly, muddy water was flowing everywhere. It hit Metagross, Absol, and Aerodactyl, lowering their accuracy. Then, both Gible and Chimchar dug underground at the same time, and started moving towards Absol. As they made their way underground, Metagross decided to use the magnetic force to rise hoping the dig would not hit him. Absol attempted to find an Unown M to pick up, but he could not find one. Aerodactyl fired some stone at the spot where Chimchar had been, but it missed. Then, both pokemon came up from their dig, and hit Abaol in the process. Absol was at much too low health to survive the hit, and fainted!

With Absol dead, LightWolf decided to immobilize Metagross. Gible ran up to him as fast as he could, and slammed him in the face. The impact was so surprising that Metagross flinched, and didn't attack. Mudkip fired some scalding hot water at Aerodactyl, hoping to burn him. Although it did not burn, it managed to do a significant amount of damage. Then, Aerodactyl fired some stones at Chimchar, who was oddly just standing there. The stones hit him hard, but he stood firm. Then, he began to glow, and charged at Aerodactyl with amazing speed, hitting him directly in the face. He had used the energy of the stone edge, to counter Aerodactyl, and it did much damage. Now, LightWolf stood there, as his NFEs were beating a bunch of powerful FEs!!

Okay Ace, lets keep cockblocking that Metagross, release a true Fake Out, nothing like that Unown copy of Jinbe. After that punish Metagross with a trust Fire Blast, for being so goddamn bulky.

Fake Out Metagross ~ Fire Blast Metagross

Jinbe lets finish off Aero, shall we? Start off by Dragon Clawing him in the face, that will surely leave a scratch or two. Then grab an Unown B and throw a Boonmerang at Metagross, that he can't magnet rise away from.

Dragon Claw Aero ~ Boonmerang Metagross

MUDS if Scald did as much then Waterfall's gonna sting, prepare yourself Aero! Follow up by releasing an unatural Overheat thanks to Unown O, that should deal some hefty damage to Metagross.

EDIT: Oops wrote Metagross one time too many thanks for reminding me Fire Blast

Chimchar quickly started the round with a Fake Out at Metagross, a swift attack that made him flinch for its suddenness. Then, Gible and Mudkip teamed up to destroy Aerodactyl. Mudkip used Waterfall, Gible used Dragon Claw, and Aerodactyl was destroyed. Then, Chimchar fired a blast of fire at Metagorss, while Gible fired a Boomerang at him. Metagross mashed gible like a meteor, but Mudkip picked up an Unown O, and threw it at Metagross. It exploded into an Overheat, leaving Metagross at very low HP.
