It would appear Sir Kay is the winner of the first round. Congrats to him for making into the hall of fame and PrinceLucian for graciously donating his team.

The team for this week comes from Tricking and was used by him in order to qualify for the NU ladder tour that happened last month. Stall is one of the harder playstyles to pull off in NU because of the numerous wallbreakers running around. This team in particular manages to cover a lot of ground with only 6 mons which made it incredibly hard to take down without smart plays.

Clefairy @ Eviolite
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled

Sliggoo @ Eviolite
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Ice Beam
- Dragon Pulse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Audino @ Audinite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 240 HP / 96 Def / 172 SpD
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Heal Bell
- Wish
- Protect

Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Recover

Xatu @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Thunder Wave

- Roost

Weezing @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 244 Def / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
- Haze
- Sludge Bomb
- Will-O-Wisp
- Toxic Spikes

Forgot to ask Tricking for a description of the team, rip.

Thanks again to everyone for a great first round! You all have until Friday to break this team, good luck!

this core is absolutely threatening for the team. I played this team a lot of times on the ladder, and the only thing it has for a Choice Specs Aurorus is PP Stalling it out with M-Audino, but that's what's Skuntank is for. with SR up it pressures everything quite a lot, and Aurorus just kinda deals with everything Skuntank struggles with on this team.

a pivot that can easily come in on Weezing like Altaria or Lanturn is appreciated as Volt Switch + Heal Bell is really useful in tackling this stall-team down.

Magmortar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Vital Spirit
EVs: 104 HP / 252 SpA / 152 Spe
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast

Sawk @ Choice Band
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature

- Knock Off
- Zen Headbutt
- Stone Edge

This team was just asking to be wallbroken, so I granted that request. Here you've got Sawk + Magmortar, probably the two best breakers in the tier. I gave Magmortar HP Grass on this set because it really didn't need any of the other options, and HP Grass allowed the OHKO on Quagsire. With it, Magmortar can easily take apart Xatu, Weezing, Quagsire, and the physically defensive Clefairy. This leaves gaping holes open for Sawk, resulting in an absolute win. On the other hand, Sawk can create holes for Magmortar by knocking off items, luring in mons with specialized coverage, and cause disruption with its mere presence. Overall a very good stall build, probably the best I have seen in a while, but with it being stall it is still weak to the powerful wallbreakers of NU.

252+ SpA Magmortar Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Clefairy: 181-214 (52.7 - 62.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Magmortar Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Weezing: 255-301 (76.3 - 90.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

252+ SpA Magmortar Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Xatu: 190-224 (56.8 - 67%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Magmortar Hidden Power Grass vs. 248 HP / 4 SpD Quagsire: 396-468 (100.7 - 119%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ Atk Choice Band Sawk Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Eviolite Sliggoo: 346-408 (101.7 - 120%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ Atk Choice Band Sawk Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 96+ Def Mega Audino: 216-255 (52.6 - 62.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ Atk Choice Band Sawk Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 80 Def Xatu: 420-496 (125.7 - 148.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Reserving Jynx + Sceptile

Jynx @ Focus Sash
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Lovely Kiss
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast

Sceptile @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 172 HP / 252 Atk / 84 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Acrobatics
- Substitute

Jynx alone can steamroll this team due to the lack of an Ice or Psychic resist. The switch-in to Jynx is Audino, which is promptly Lovely Kissed and weakened by Jynx's powerful STAB moves. SD Sceptile can sweep once it gets a Sub and an SD on Audino provided that Clefairy is weakened or gone, Quagsire is gone, & Weezing is gone.

As displayed above, Ice types are a major issue for this team. However, Articuno puts even more stress on this squad due to the fact that it has Freeze-Dry to rip past Quagsire as well as having a strong secondary STAB move while still threatening 5/6 members of the team. I chose Substitute over Ice Beam here as it helps to dodge Weezings Will-O-Wisp, Xatu's twave, and Quagsire's Toxic. The only Pokemon on this team Articuno truly struggles with is Mega Audino, which Garbodor handles very well. In addition, offensive Garbodor works well against this team as it can surprise Quagsire with Seed Bomb and deal 62.8 - 73.9% with Gunk Shot to Xatu if it tries to bounce back its Spikes.

Abomasnow checks 4/6 of Tricking’s mons; also the hail that Abomasnow provides is nice to cancel Weezing’s/Quagsire’s leftovers.

Haunter checks the remaining two mons (Clefairy/M-Audino). Hunter also has taunt to stallbreak. Lastly substitute can be used on forced switches to pressure the opponent into attacking over using wish.

Edit: Sorry for the messy post, I'm a noob at Ps forums xD

252 Atk Expert Belt Primeape Gunk Shot vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Clefairy: 202-238 (58.7 - 69.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Expert Belt Primeape Gunk Shot vs. 252 HP / 96 Def Mega Audino: 204-242 (49.7 - 59%) -- 99.6% chance to 2HKO

252 Atk Expert Belt Primeape Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 80 Def Xatu: 271-322 (81.1 - 96.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Primeape Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 80 Def Xatu: 51-60 (15.2 - 17.9%) -- possible 8HKO after Leftovers recovery
(CC + Stone edge kills Xatu even without rocks unless you get min rolls on both so you don't even need to predict it in)

+2 252 SpA Life Orb Ninetales Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Clefairy: 320-378 (93 - 109.8%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO
+2 252 SpA Life Orb Ninetales Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 172+ SpD Mega Audino: 220-261 (53.6 - 63.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 SpA Life Orb Ninetales Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Eviolite Sliggoo: 182-214 (53.5 - 62.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 SpA Life Orb Ninetales Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Weezing: 452-534 (135.3 - 159.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 SpA Life Orb Ninetales Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Xatu: 456-538 (136.5 - 161%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Life Orb Ninetales Energy Ball vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Unaware Quagsire: 530-624 (134.5 - 158.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

So this core is a really fun one, both Mega Audino and Clef are 2hko by Gunk Shot and the things that can switch into it in Quagsire and Weezing can get u-turned on the switch in and they are either forced out by the Energy Ball or become set up fodder. After getting +2 off setting up on Weezing/ Audino/ Sligoo, it then out paces and kill your entire team. The things that aren't OHKO'd out right fail to hurt it due to having Fairy STAB or have no general offensive pressure like Sligoo. I thought about just posting nintales as it 6-0s you but I figured I'd have some fun with a really neat mon too in Primeape.

So yeah. Vanilluxe does work. It OHKOs a few of the mons and if it doesn't OHKO or 2HKO it out damages and prevents stalling w/ Taunt. Guaranteed rocks is nice too, so I'll throw in Mold Breaker Pinsir. Some cheeky EQ's thrown at Weezing could be useful too but don't count on it. Doesn't take much in return from anyone besides Weezing. Takes a little while to kill MDino but you're not taking much in return. LO could be used to boost damage a bit extra but Nevermelt Ice does just fine. TWave from Xatu can be annoying but most people aren't likely to switch it into cone so just switch to Pinsir and let it take it then follow up with a rock tomb. I honestly wouldn't be using Pinsir that much. Mainly to act as fodder for a hit or two and get some chip damage on what it can.

boltsandbombers core wins it so congratulations to him and thanks to Tricking for the team.

Here is a team donated by Aurosis that has preformed well on ladder and in room tours alike. It utilizes a few underated movesets such as Sub toxic Mantine and Swords Dance Pinsir.
Abomasnow @ Life Orb
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 84 Atk / 172 SpA / 252 Spe
Mild Nature
- Blizzard
- Wood Hammer
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard

Mesprit @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Psychic
- U-turn
- Healing Wish

Rhydon @ Eviolite
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Rock Polish
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

Skuntank @ Life Orb
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Defog

Mantine @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 96 HP / 252 SpA / 160 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Air Slash
- Substitute
- Toxic

Pinsir @ Lum Berry
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- X-Scissor
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Started off with Abomasnow as it had just dropped and Mixed LO looked super threatening. I knew i needed Stealth Rocks and a Fighting resist, so Physically defensive Mesprit fit well. U-turn also provides Aboma with free switches, and Healing Wish is nice considering how easily it gets worn down by Hazards/LO. Next up is DD Rhydon. The team needed some kind of Fire switch in, and DD Rhydon appreciates Abomasnow's ability to wreck things that threaten it such as Bulky Waters and Weezing. Don also handles Skunktank which was looking very annoying for the first two members of the team. SubTox Offensive Mantine is next, and boy is this set underrated. I was uncomfortable with Mesprit being my teams only fighting resist, and Rhydon being the teams only fire resist, so Mantine fit in perfectly. SubTox was chosen over standard defensive because this team really couldn't afford the momentum suck that comes with using defensive, and being able to lure in opposing Mantine and beat them 1v1 helps out Abomasnow. At this point, the team needed something to handle Ghost and Dark types, and because I opted against Defog on Mantine, the team needed hazard removal badly. Skunktank was the perfect option here, as it could easily do both. Special Lure Skunk is used over standard pursuit because the team is very weak to Rhydon especially after a Rock Polish, and this set makes sure Skunk isn't set up fodder. At team preview, most people will assume Skunk is standard Pursuit an Mantine is defog, so playing around that can be beneficial. For the final mon on the team, I needed a Malamar check that wasn't Scyther, so SD Pinsir was chosen. Pinsir also provides a solid check to Magmortar which this squad desperately needed.

Voting will start Friday so be sure to post which cores are effective against this team before then, good luck!

So uh idk if I'm allowed to post here or whatever but Kabutops after one swords dance 6-0's this entire team. And there are no switch-ins to plus zero Kabutops. Have a nice day :P

Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 16 Def / 240 Spe

- Razor Shell

Skuntank @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 24 HP / 216 Atk / 252 SpD / 16 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Pursuit
- Poison Jab
- Memento

Relatively self explanatory, skuntank can switch freely into mesprit or come in on mantine/pinsir easily after a down and get a memento off, at -2 the only things threatening barb are abomasnow and skuntank which most likely aren't going to be switching in on skunk. Shuca barb lets it set up on rhydon and pinsir while sub is used to avoid burns from mantine at -2. Once you get your smash off it's pretty much over due to slow team is coupled with no forms of priority. Shuca skunk lets you memento on pinsir easily.
Team vs Barb
-2 252+ SpA Mantine Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Barbaracle: 58-70 (20.3 - 24.5%) -- guaranteed 5HKO
-2 252+ Atk Rhydon Earthquake vs. -1 0 HP / 16 Def Shuca Berry Barbaracle: 118-139 (41.4 - 48.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
-2 252 Atk Pinsir Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 16 Def Shuca Berry Barbaracle: 47-56 (16.4 - 19.6%) -- possible 6HKO
-2 0 SpA Mesprit Psychic vs. -1 0 HP / 0 SpD Barbaracle: 87-103 (30.5 - 36.1%) -- 50.7% chance to 3HKO
160+ Atk Life Orb Abomasnow Ice Shard vs. -1 0 HP / 16 Def Barbaracle: 44-53 (15.4 - 18.5%) -- possible 6HKO

Barb vs Team
+2 252+ Atk Tough Claws Barbaracle Return vs. 96 HP / 0 Def Mantine: 367-432 (124.4 - 146.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Tough Claws Barbaracle Razor Shell vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Mesprit: 213-252 (58.5 - 69.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
(this gets worn down easily throughout matches, esepecially with skunk and even if it is at full you still set up on it and beat it)
+2 252+ Atk Tough Claws Barbaracle Return vs. 8 HP / 0 Def Abomasnow: 347-409 (107.4 - 126.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Tough Claws Barbaracle Return vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Skuntank: 379-447 (109.2 - 128.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Tough Claws Barbaracle Return vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Pinsir: 272-321 (100.3 - 118.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

I really don't feel the need to add a second Pokemon to complete this core. Wild Charge Pyroar pretty much OHKOes everything after Stealth Rock, with the exception being Mesprit which requires a little prior damage.

This is a fun core that I've been putting off building with that just so happens to beat out this team. Sheer Force Lix is cool cause it breaks a lot of the common cores that are floating around while still being able to act as a reliable Rocker. Steelix finds safe switch-ins on and Pinsir, to an extent, and terrorizes the team because it has absolutely nothing for Steel-Electric-Ground coverage aside from Tactical Loop Switching. Tauros also does a number on the team, crushing Rhydon with Iron Tail and doing over half to everything else with Rock Climb. The team is fairly slow, too, so Tauros doesn't have to worry about being outpaced.
