Combusken @ Life Orb
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Focus Blast
- Fire Blast
- Baton Pass
- Protect

Combusken is a cool partner imo since it forms a fighting spam core to overload checks to fighting moves, while also having the utility of passing speed to poliwrath to make it even more of a threat to the meta. Poliwrath also helps combusken function by removing rock types w/o always having to risk focus blast which is always cool.

And with erisia gracefully breaking the tie (thank you btw), PrinceLucian has entered the Hall of Fame! Congratulations n_n

This week, I decided to finally do a tried and true set on the only Mega Pokemon in NU that has sadly fallen out of favor in recent metagame shifts, but can still serve as an effective bulky win condition.

Audino-Mega @ Audinite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 208 Def / 48 SpA
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Dazzling Gleam
- Rest / Wish
- Sleep Talk / Protect

CroDino is really effective once Fairy resists such as Fire-, Poison-, and Steel-types are gone as Fairy STAB is pretty powerful despite the lack of Moonblast. The EVs are to ensure that Audino can 3HKO Malamar as to KO it before it can Rest up again.

Submissions end on Friday.

Banned deucer.

Skuntank @ Black Sludge
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 252 SpA / 108 SpD / 148 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Acid Spray
- Dark Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Defog

-I definitely think offensive mega Dino is better than defensive CM in this meta, because its pretty much forced out by a lot of things like Garbodor that sets up free spikes vs it, poison pokemon like haunter, weezing are also pretty annoying and stealth rock users like steelix can get rocks and beat it easily 1v1, while aggron in last tier shift didnt help it either. Special skuntank has great matchup vs garbodor and beats it since non invested gunk shot usually wont do a lot of damage, it also offers a Defog support and beats CM psychic types like musharna/xatu that audino cant. Acid spray is my favourite move on this set, as it gives it a better matchup vs slow setup sweepers like those. Fire blast also 2 Koes defensive steelix and allows audino to setup later in game. Audino in return can provide a wish support and offers longevity to Skuntank.

Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 244 Def / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Earth Power
- Recover
- Toxic

What do Fire-, Steel-, and Poison-types all have in common? That's right: they all hate Ground-type attacks. Gastrodon has excellent defensive synergy with Mega Audino in general, resisting all of the above types and having access to reliable recovery and can threaten almost all Pokemon of the aforementioned types in NU. Ferroseed can be a pain, but Weezing dislikes Scald quite a lot and if Ferroseed gets burned then it'll be annoyed too. Meanwhile, it can use Toxic to cripple bulkier threats and give Mega Audino more setup opportunities. It also provides such a team with handy Water- and Electric-type immunities.

And with that, PrinceLucian has won this week, making this his 2nd win in a row and 4th overall win. Congratulations!

This week, I decided to go with a Pokemon that is very versatile in what it does, but uses this particular set to break the opposing team as most team's common Psychic-type resists do not appreciate the power of...

Mesprit @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Ice Beam
- Signal Beam
- Healing Wish / U-turn

Specs Mesprit is something I finally tried (s/o to Orphic and ~Eternally :P) and I have to say I am honestly amazed at how powerful this thing is.

Anyways, submissions end on Friday.

Banned deucer.

Garbodor @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 248 HP / 204 Def / 56 Spe
Impish Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Spikes
- Gunk Shot
- Focus Blast/Seed Bomb

-Garbodor is good partner to Specs mesprit since its a decent dark check to pokemon like shiftry/liepard.Its also a secondary fighting check to the team and adds up spikes to help Mesprit score Ohkoes. Mesprit in return lures xatu, steelix, skuntank that are annoying vs garbodor and helps it sets up spikes easier.Focus blast Ohkoes aggron, while seed bomb is good option to hit pokemon like gastro, omastar. Add a speedy win condition/cleaner and you have a solid spikes offense.

Steelix @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 112 Atk / 128 SpD / 20 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Roar/Toxic
Steelix is a great partner to specs mesprit since its a nice check to dark types that dont run coverage moves like liepard, shiftry and skuntank. Also provides rocks that help mesprit to ohko some mons. It also helps it check mons that would normally switch in against mesprit and set up like klingklang and musharna or mons that can switch in and put a big hole into teams like aggron. Mesprit helps lix by luring stuff like xatu and also helps it check bulky waters like gastrodon.

I Nominate the Tank version of Rhydon

Rhydon @ Eviolite
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Atk / 240 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Rock Blast
- Megahorn

Nowadays, The Dancer Dino is most common or most used than this set, but i´ve selected this set, because Mesprit is Lacking Bulk, and This Rhydon resists many hits, can set stealth rock, to help the Mesprit Wallbreaking Power, and win against the Dark types (outside of Shiftry, that is probably the biggest threat to the core, anyway, the Seed Bomb shiftry doesn´t guarantee a KO on Rhydon, Megahorn does). This Rhydon provides Mesprit a nice help, taking hits, putting Stealth Rock on the field, and taking Dark types with Megahorn, it is also good against the bug types, as Scyther. Btw, if mesprit could be running a Timid Nature, it outspeed and KO Shiftry.

NU Leader

Tauros @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Rock Climb
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Iron Tail

Tauros + Specs Mesprit makes an extremely potent offensive core that can break down defensive cores with their wide range of coverage. Mesprit effectively either weakens or flat out KOs every Tauros "check" in the tier including; Weezing, Steelix, Rhydon, Regirock, Hitmonchan, and Gourgeist-XL. With HW you can give Tauros a second lease at sweeping and rid it of any annoying status, while with U-turn you can bring in Tauros on something like Skuntank and fire off an EQ. In return Tauros can cover Mesprit against faster mons like Scyther, Pinsir, Pyroar, and Jynx as well as acting as a great cleaner and great mon in general.
