Hobey Ho Let's Go!

Arena: Bubs' Concession Stand

The battle takes place around Bubs’ Concession Stand where Bubs sells all types of crazy crap!

Basic features
  • No external water source
  • No external rocks
  • Plenty of external grass
  • Weather is allowed and works as normal
  • Digging is allowed and works as normal
  • Seismic moves (ie, Earthquake, Magnitude, Bulldoze and Fissure) are allowed and work as normal
  • All of the above are subject to change as the battle goes on
Special features

Players start with $200 and, upon sending out their initial pokemon, can use this money to buy items for this battle from Bubs. Every time a pokemon gets a KOC, the owner gets another $50 and may buy more items from Bubs before the next pokemon is sent out. Once a player buys an item, he/she may equip it to any of his/her pokemon as long as the pokemon doesn't already have an item. Items bought in this battle cannot be taken out of the battle and items cannot be sold to Bubs.

Here are the available items and their prices. Items marked with a (*) are ones that affect the arena and are not held by pokemon, so when buying such items, the player does not need to specify a pokemon to hold the item.

When struck with an Electric attack, they transfer the energy into their body, using it to increase their Special Attack by one (1) stage. A boost gained this way by an opponent's attack will be maintained at the end of each round. Self-targeted attacks do not maintain boosts. If a Pokemon has a type immunity to Electric attacks, Lightning Rod will not activate.
Rock Head: (Innate) This Pokemon’s hard body prevents it from taking recoil damage from moves such as Double-Edge, Flare Blitz, and Head Smash.
Reckless (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon has an innately aggressive nature that lets it use all-out attacks with recoil more effectively. Recoil attacks from this Pokemon have two (2) more Base Attack Power, and recoil percentage is unaffected.

This Pokemon receives a one (1) stage boost on the offense that strikes an opponent’s weaker defense stat. (e.g. does more damage with special attacks when facing Aggron, which has higher Defense, and attack when facing Hypno, which has higher Special Defense. For ties, Special Attack is raised.) Flying: Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Will always hit foes with Dig (except other Flying types) and Dive. Cannot be hit by Dive unless the attacking Pokemon has a size class greater than four (4). Immune to Spikes and Toxic Spikes. Abilities:
Swarm: (Innate) When this Pokemon’s HP is lower than 33% (flat), the Base Attack Power of any Bug-typed attack is increased by 2. (eg Silver Wind goes from 6 to 8, X-Scissor from 8 to 10).
Technician: (Innate) This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects.
Steadfast (DW): (Innate) If this Pokemon is flinched, it becomes aware of the speed difference and increases Speed by one (1) stage to make up the difference. This Speed boost is maintained at the end of each round.

Good morning, you bastards!

I will purchase the following:
- Cell Battery (Kujira the Colosshale)
- Wise Glasses (Kumo the Duclohm)

(1)

Kujira, you're up. This doesn't look too good for us, but whatever...

Fake Out - Water Spout - Water Spout
IF (Porygon traces Storm Drain successfully) THEN (Replace all Water Spouts in the queue with Dark Pulse)
IF (Thunder Wave is used) AND (Porygon has not used Agility [normal usage]) AND (You have not used Taunt successfully yet) THEN (use Taunt and push actions back)

When entering into battle, this Pokemon can copy an ability on one of its opponents for 6 EN.
Doing this and tracing Storm Drain.

Tri Attack - Gravity - Thunder

EDIT: Also, I just realised there are some things wrong with my Porygon. Its attack should only be 1, its size class should be 2, its weight class should be 3 and its base rank total should be 16.

It's time for a fight by the concession stand! I'd be worried about the owner being mad about the possible destruction of the land around his shop (and possibly even the shop itself!) but he seems to be supplying the combatants with items, so I guess it's all good! Objection decides to go big and spends all of his cash, buying an Eviolite for his Rhydon and a Sand Pit to swallow up all the grass, then sends out Master Control Program the Porygon! Engineer, on the other hand, conserves a bit, buying just a Cell Battery for Kujira the Colosshale, who comes onto the field to meet MCP, and some Wise Glasses for his Duclohm in reserve. Who made the wiser purchases? Let's find out!

MCP immediately scans its opponent, Tracing Kujira's Storm Drain and Downloading an Attack boost! However, before MCP can make use of these new toys, Kujira uses a Fake Out to stop it in its tracks! MCP flinches from the impact, and Kujira takes advantage, summoning some dark energy and smacking MCP with a Dark Pulse! Recovered from the flinch, MCP summons some power of his own, greatly increasing the Gravity on the field! Kujira is unimpressed and simply attacks with another Dark Pulse, but this time MCP retaliates with a Thunder, which hits its mark... but is absorbed by the Cell Battery that Engineer had bought for Kujira! This also boosts Kujira's Attack! After the first round, it looks like Engineer has the advantage thanks to his choice of purchases, but there's still a long way to go! Without that Cell Battery, can Kujira withstand an electrical assault?

Looking to gain the advantage in the Speed department, MCP fires off a Thunder Wave, but Kujira dodges it with a well-timed Dig, then comes back up for some decent damage! Then she follows it up with another Dark Pulse, and the impact from the dark energy flinches MCP! Kujira follows up with a second Dark Pulse, but this time MCP braces itself, and manages to respond with a Hidden Power blast that hits a weak point and scores a critical hit! However, the battle still seems to be tilted in Engineer's favor so far! Can Objection turn it around?

Kujira finally decides to switch up the offensive, and drenches MCP with a powerful Water Spout! However, MCP is finally firing back in earnest, and nails the Colosshale with a SolarBeam in response! For its efforts, the Porygon takes a Dark Pulse from Kujira, but her attack pales in comparison to the painful Thunder she takes in return! Nonetheless, she hits MCP with another Dark Pulse, and while it leaves MCP barely able to continue fighting, it still manages to strike back with another powerful SolarBeam! MCP definitely won that round, but barring a miracle it looks like Kujira will win this battle! Still, the match isn't even close to over!

With MCP nearing its end, Objection decides to switch the Porygon out in favor of Hopper the Scyther! Not liking the unfavorable matchup, Engineer follows suit and sends out Kumo the Duclohm! Hopper immediately sets up a Safeguard to keep himself safe from status for a few rounds, and Kumo similarly sets himself up, calling upon a Rain Dance to begin a downpour! As the rain falls, the Pokemon finally clash! Hopper bites into Kumo with a painful Bug Bite, but then takes a wicked Thunder in retaliation! Not liking just how badly that hurt, Hopper sets up a Light Screen, but while it takes the brunt of a second Thunder attack, the Scyther is still hit for solid damage!

Bracing himself for what he can only assume will be an extremely painful round, Hopper uses Endure as Kumo jolts him a bit with a ThunderShock! Feeling safe, Hopper strikes back with a Bug Bite, but then he learns the true meaning of pain as he gets absolutely rocked by a BIGBOLT! Down but not out, Hopper shows his fighting spirit, gathering all his power into a defiant Reversal while Kumo recovers from his combo! Yet again Objection finds his Pokemon on the brink of fainting, but this time he won't have the opportunity to switch! What will he and Hopper do?

Engineer briefly pores over the shopkeeper's wares, before finally settling on an Instant Pond! He throws it out into the Sand Pit, and suddenly there is a small pond in the middle of the sand! Objection, uninterested in the water, sends out MCP the Porygon yet again! Before Kumo can finish it off, MCP braces itself with an Endure, and just in time to avoid getting fried by a ThunderShock from the Duclohm! However, he does keep some excess voltage inside of him, paralyzing him! Kumo then chills, feeling the ill effects of a long battle, and MCP fights off the paralysis and takes advantage of the opportunity to set up Gravity! Suddenly everything is a lot heavier, and Kumo finds this out the hard way when he tries to use Magnet Rise only to fail, the intensified gravity just too strong! And this leaves him ripe for the picking, as MCP once again beats paralysis and fires off a Blizzard that hits its target dead-on! Kumo is chilled to bone, but just barely manages to stay on her feet! Both Pokemon are on the brink, will Kumo be able to get the finishing blow or will MCP pull a fast one on her?
