Hi Every1, lets explain my situation, then you might understand why i want it.

I want to play shoddy battle at (another) computer. But, that computer has some weird random baracuda filter (i cant change the settings of this), which blocks http://shoddybattle.com/. So, i was thinking, since you can download all the info from http://shoddybattle.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/shoddybattle/, can any1 put them in a folder, that the .jnpl file doesnt acces the internet for the files, but another folder. Which means that you only need to acces a server. (since smogon.com isn't blocked, i can acces the server). I already tried to do this myself, but im not really good at using Java.

Any help is appreciated.

Just remove the baracuda thing all together. Or... just download the .jnlp (it loads off itself) and allow access in the Baracuda (or control panel) and let Java.exe go through.

Hm, try Ctrl+Alt+Del, and try stopping the baracuda process. Then use the uninstaller to uninstall it.

Well, i guess i havnt been that clear.

Its my school laptop (yea, we got personal laptops on my school) and thats where i want to play it.

The process of baracuda, is being formed on a shared server, which you can't acces, unless your an admin (which would be stupid to give a student)

So thats basicly my problem.

Any programmer knows how to rewrite the program that it accesses the files on your pc (that you download all the database files etc.)?

Well, that would be really nice to be an admin here. Its running on windows xp. (dont know what stuff you all need to know about it)

Ok ok, i've just discovered a thing. If i access firefox (using my flashdrive) the sites arn't blocked. Which means the problem isn't in my internet connection. I still get an error:

OK, another edit:

I guess shoddybattle runs via IE, while that is blocked by baracuda.
and i read this on the followin tread: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57973

Some users have reported success from using Internet Explorer instead of Firefox.

which would mean i could run shoddy via firefox, any1 knows how to do that?

You probably can't play anyway. We have the same baracuda filter on our schol laptops and Java is blocked too. So if you would succed finding a way to download it, you couldn't instal it anways;)

In that case, lemme tell you something weird. A friend of mine, can play it on the school laptop o.o?

He doesnt know how it worked, but all of a sudden he could boot it, and ever since it worked o.o

Luck will never solve anything computer wise. It all depends on what you try, and how. Not if you're lucky. If anything, try allowing it through a local attempt.
In the command prompt, type:

Edit: If the command prompt is blocked, open notepad, and type this:

Save as .bat

You could try changing Java's network settings so it connects directly to the net and not through your schools proxy/filter server.

Go to Control Panel > Java > Network Settings and select the Direct Connection option.

(if its currently set somewhere else)
