So hello, Porii Sames here again. Normally I don't post here as much because I'm testing on PO, theorymoning, making my own sets, or just know stuff, but I peaked at only 49 on PO with this team (though I did later peak at 1 on Smogon). I was wondering if yall would helpe me. Thanks!
OK, so this was my "last attempt" at a good SS team, as most of mine barely peaked over 500. They were good, no doubt. But never were great.
As a lead, I wanted Hippowdon, as whenever I use Tyranitar, it seems to backfire on me; no matter what set I end up using, I never can seem to get it to work. Through and through, though, the Band version of Tyranitar seemed to always work the best. So I decided to try that idea...on Hippowdon.

Let me tell everyone about this thing: CB Hippowdon is no joke. It has an astonishingly high attack stat for a common defensive wall, and the suprise value from this thing is amazing. It also has plenty of great coverage attacks, not to mention being physically bulky with nearly max HP. Earthquake kills stuff, and Stone Edge is for coverage. Ice Fang is for Dragons, and due to the significant investment and the Band being factored in, most of they are OHKO'd with ease. Crunch rounds the set off as a last resort to try to stop Reuniclus, and for lack of a substantially better move (Superpower is there, but after testing, Earthquake or Stone Edge normally turned out to be better). Overall, this thing kills. Everything.
Backing off of Hippowdon now, let me just say that my first experience with PO was with a Sandstorm team. It was highly offensive, and included Landorus. Now, yeah, there was the Sand Power bug at the time. But then, after it was fixed, I continued to use Landorus and it hit like a truck. The raw power from Sand Power and STAB made Earthquake an attack to be feared by anything not immune to it. However, I found myself missing a couple of 2HKO's on a few things, and for some reason, could never find a good time to Rock Polish, SD, or Sub. So I went the same route as I did with Hippo: Choice Band

Why this thing isn't a. Used more, b. Suspect tested is beyond me. The most defensive walls are 2HKO'd with ease from Earthquake, and with great coverage with Earthquake and Stone Edge, few things can stand up. Hammer Arm serves as a potential last ditch effort to KO something with a Balloon, such as a Balloon Excadrill. U-turn rounds the set off by making their prediction even more difficult; as now their potential Balloon is broken, AND they have to deal with another sweeper in their face.
So, going off of my 2 Choice Band users, I felt that I needed something with bulk. Something that wasn't dirt slow. Oh, and something that was Special Attacking too. Immediately, the first thing that came to mind was...Offensive Suicune. I had personally never tried this before, and was actually dissing the set on Shoddy and PO from long ago. However, now that I actually tried it on the right team, and it supported the team so much, I was in love. Certainly an underrated threat.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. Suicune, at maximum, reaches 295 speed. Now, that's not amazing, but it's pretty good. Even with no investment, it has 342/266/266 defenses, and that is further increased by Calm Mind. Onto why it's used on this team though, this team seems to need something that can take out Dragons, and something that can take out other Waters. Suicune works as a nearly perfect counter to both of these. Calm Mind makes Suicune's Special Attack 418. 418 after one boost isn't great, but it sure is nice considering Suicune's all around nice stats. Hydro Pump is my STAB move of choice, as I have found the power boost to be necessary, for two reasons. 1. Suicune's Special Attack stat isn't great, so I need as much power as possible. 2. I am the HAX KING. I do not miss Hydro Pump. I had Ice Beam/HP Electric for the final slots as I need as much coverage as possible from my attacker. It was basically put there for the reason of coverage, and possibly soaking up a hit (pun for Water Absorb fully intended). I miss having Rest, I truly do. But, for now, this will have to do. I have recently gone HP Grass as I have no surefire Quagsire counter.
There's one Pokemon on all of my DW teams, guaranteed, never off. Choice Scarf Genesect. I've had it on my Stall Teams, Offensive Teams, Hail Teams, Sunny Day Teams, Rain Teams, SS Teams, Balanced Teams, 4Drag2Mag Teams (wait, what?), Genesect is always there.

I can't explain how well this thing works. Choice Scarf, with the ability to outspeed Scarfed Base 95's, Download boost, amazing mixed stats, perfect coverage, STAB U-turn, the list goes on. Genesect is too useful for me to put it into words, a definite staple on this team and any team I make.
So at this point, I felt that I had to include another obvious poke for a Sandstorm team; Excadrill. Standing in at under 3 foot, this mole is amazing, MAYBE should've gone to 2nd stage of suspect. Excadrill is fast, hits hard, and can abuse Air Balloon to the fullest.

Excadrill is something I at first considered to be highly overrrated sheerly due to the amount of counters I packed on all of my teams to it. Now after sweeping with it so much, I can see why it's so good. Kill their Conkeldurr, cripple their Breloom, break their walls with Landorus, and have a fielr day. Swords Dance basically defines this and almost any other Excadrill set; doubling that amazing base 130 Attack will make life for the other team hell. Earthquake runs off of STAB, and should be on 100% of Excadrill sets. Rock Slide provides great Neutral coverage, and is great for hitting fast Flyers. Now, the last move I feel really needs to get more love on Excadrill. With other Excadrill lurking everytime I look around the corner, with about half having Air Balloons, I needed a solution. I didn't want to give up a team slot to Breloom or Conkeldurr, so I just did the smart thing: ran Brick Break to beat other Excadrill. The way I see it, Excadrill's other coverage moves are rarely used, and why use them when you can use a coverage move that lets you check one of the most deadly sweepers in the game? Offensive Spinners I think are good; I used Starmie a whole lot last gen, but not Sweeper Spinners. Excadrill should be raping switch ins or Swords Dancing, not screwing around with Rapid Spin. Plus, none of my team takes Super Effective damage from it anyway.
Now, at this point, I needed something to wrap the team together. I knew that anything Fighting would be a pain, and I felt that I needed something that had good synergy with the team. After some testing (nah, not really, first thing I tried!) I used Memento Latios. However, after a bit more testing, I found myself super Skarmory weak. So, I used Xatu in Latios's place, which has been a double edged sword.

Xatu is a great mon that is on a lot of my teams, and I really appreciate Magic Bounce. The reason it's on here is for my Skarmory problems and it is a very good Breloom counter. The team appreciates Dual Screens in addition to a nice Wish every now and then. U-turn is great for letting me see a way to flee or just get a bit of damage on something (/break a Air Balloon, which is useful for killing Excadrill). Yeah, not really much to say, a good mon.
