Defensive Defog
########
Name: Defensive Defog
move 1: Defog
move 2: Scald
move 3: Roost
move 4: Toxic / Hurricane / U-Turn
ability: Keen Eye
item: Leftovers
evs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Nature: Bold

Moves
========
  • Defog is essential on pelipper being one of it's most reliable options and a very good asset to any team.
  • Roost is also rather essential on this set giving it a very reliable recovery option.
  • Scald being an essential offensive move with the chance to get a burn on attackers and on walls.
  • Toxic is a rather good move to have to almost guarantee a status on any other walls, attackers or anything.
  • U-Turn is basic, it gives it the chance to take a hit and deal a small amount of damage and then get a switch to gain the momentum.
  • Hurricane is a good choice for dealing with grass types, dealing huge damage although it's accuracy can let it down.

Set Details
========
  • The standard defensie ev spread gives pelipper it's best possible chance to withstand the maximum amount of physical hits.
  • Keen eye is the only ability that should be used due to it being the only one compatible with defog.
  • Leftovers are there give a small amount of passive recovery.
Usage Tips
========
  • Roost should be used to keep pelipper above 50-60%, being a vital mon to keep for defog and getting a toxic off on said stall mons, otherwise use often.
  • Switch pelipper into pokemon which it can check or counter such as feraligatr or poliwrath. then proceed to use defog to remove hazards or throw a toxic or scald at your opponent. otherwise use u-turn to gain momentum.
  • Pelipper as a defensive wall should rarely switch in a a special attack unless it's resisted and pelipper is at high health it's a bad choice to do so, try switching it in on something that can be clean enough for a roost or defog to go off.
  • Pelipper when used with toxic can be good to get a status off on other walls and stops it being fully walled by seismitoad allowing it to phase this mon quite well.
Team Options
========
  • Defensive grass type pokemon along with offensive fire types can work well with pelipper as a core providing good coverage and switch ins on most typings.
  • Ground types are a great addition to any team with pelipper to take an incoming electric attack and then hit back hard.
  • Pokemon like primeape/sawk or fighting spam in general are an easy switch in for pelipper.
Other Options
########
  • Rain dish is not an option due to defog being essential and the incompatibility of the ability and move.
  • A Life Orb, Rain dish set on a rain team may seem gimmicky but it is not completely outdone by it's cousin swanna, also a rather fun set to run over defog.
  • Tailwind is an option to help teammates, but is not practical due to it's short length.
  • Knock Off as another option gives pelipper an advantage against other walls or choiced pokemon allowing it to knock off their item and give it some momentum.
  • Air Slash can be used over Hurricane as a more accurate flying stab.
Checks & Counters
########

**Electric Move Users** Any pokemon with moderately good attack stats and an electric attack can hurt it pretty bad, such as electivire, rotom and lanturn.

**Fast Special Attackers** Most fast special attackers can ohko/2ko pelipper after/without rocks.

**Taunt** Taunt users such as Liepard can ruin this set due to the fact it cannot defog roost or if carrying it toxic.

**Water Absorb** Water Absorb users like seismitoad and Lapras can wall pelipper even if it's carrying air slash/toxic, they aren't really stopped by these and can force you to switch.

**Status** status namely poison/burn can wear down pelipper putting it in easy 2ko range from Pokemon it regularly walls.

Overview
########
Pelipper is one of the few good Defog users in NU. It has a good defensive typing, good physical bulk, and access to reliable recovery in Roost. Its typing grants it resistances to Bug-, Fighting-, Fire-, Steel-, and Water-type attacks and an immunity to Ground-type attacks, too. Pelipper is unfortunately 4x weak to Electric-type attacks, and with Pokemon such as Rotom and Electivire around, that could be a problem for Pelipper. Its abilities, Keen Eye and Rain Dish, aren't too useful. Pelipper is outsped by most sweepers, making it hard to take a hit and then Roost the damage away; switching in becomes even more of a problem due to it being weak to Stealth Rock.

Defensive Defog
########
Name: Defensive Defog
move 1: Defog
move 2: Scald
move 3: Roost
move 4: Toxic / Hurricane / U-turn
ability: Keen Eye
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Nature: Bold

Moves
========
Defog is essential on Pelipper, as it's a great support move for the rest of the team by removing hazards from the field. Roost allows Pelipper to recover Stealth Rock damage, keep its HP high, and stall out opposing Pokemon in tandem with Toxic. Scald is a reliable Water-type STAB move which has a 30% chance of burning opponents. Burns are really appreciated, allowing it to survive hits from the physical side better. Toxic allows Pelipper to damage Grass- and Water-type Pokemon, which resist Scald, or Seismitoad, which is immune to Scald thanks to Water Absorb. Hurricane is a Flying-type STAB move which allows Pelipper to hit the many Grass-type Pokemon in the tier which don't mind getting burned, such as Lilligant, Vileplume, and Sceptile; however, the risk of missing is an issue. U-turn is another option, as it allows Pelipper to gain momentum on predicted switches from Pokemon not wanting to take a super effective move or risk getting burned.

Set Details
========
The EVs are standard, allowing Pelipper to withstand a good amount of physical hits before needing to use Roost. Keen Eye is unfortunately the only ability that should be used due to Rain Dish not being compatible with Defog. Leftovers provides Pelipper with a small amount of passive recovery each turn. A Bold nature, in tandem with maximum Defense investment, maximizes Pelipper's Defense.

Usage Tips
========
Roost should be used to keep Pelipper above 50%-60% health, as it is a vital Pokemon on the team to clear hazards and stall opposing Pokemon out. You want to switch Pelipper into Pokemon it can counter, such as Feraligatr and Poliwrath, which don't appreciate getting burned from Scald or taking a Hurricane, respectively. When against them, Pelipper wants to use Defog to remove hazards, Toxic to stall Pokemon out, or Scald predicting the switch in hope of getting a burn and damage on the incoming Pokemon. Pelipper is a physically defensive wall and should rarely switch into a special attack unless it's resisted and Pelipper is at a good amount of health; instead, bring Pelipper in on physically attacking Pokemon, as that allows it to Roost or Defog. With Toxic, Pelipper threatens Seismitoad, keeping it from coming in and causing problems with Water Absorb.

Team Options
========
Defensive Grass-type Pokemon such as Ferroseed, Vileplume, and Roselia make good partners, as they resist Electric-type attacks. Ferroseed gets a special mention for also resisting Rock-type attacks, meaning it resists both of Pelipper's weaknesses. Offensive Fire-type Pokemon such as Typhlosion and Pyroar appreciate Pelipper as a teammate due to it being able to take Water- and Ground-type attacks aimed towards them and providing Defog support. Ground-type Pokemon such as Seismitoad, Golem, and Golurk are immune to Electric-type attacks, which allows them to come in and hit the Electric-types back hard; they also resist Rock-type attacks. Pokemon such as Kangaskhan and Audino which are weak to Fighting-type attacks appreciate Pelipper as a teammate, as it is an easy switch-in to Fighting-type attacks due to resisting them and its high Defense.

Other Options
########
Tailwind is an option, as it allows Pelipper to help its teammates by boosting their Speed. However, it isn't too practical due to its short duration. Knock Off allows Pelipper to remove items from opposing Pokemon, crippling walls and Pokemon with a Choice item. Air Slash can be used as it is more reliable than Hurricane and has a 30% chance to flinch. A Life Orb + Rain Dish set may seem like a good idea, but it is completely outclassed by Swanna; you don't want to use Rain Dish anyways as it is incompatible with Defog.

Checks & Counters
########

**Electric-types**: Electric-type Pokemon such as Electivire, Rotom, and Lanturn don't appreciate a Toxic or a burn from Scald, but can come in on Defog and OHKO Pelipper with their Electric-type moves due to its 4x weakness to them. Without a Ground-type Pokemon, Rotom can be a problem, as it can use Volt Switch to either OHKO Pelipper or gain momentum on a Pokemon switching in.

**Fast Special Attackers**: Fast special attacking Pokemon such as Mesprit and Mismagius can OHKO Pelipper once it has been damaged by Stealth Rock. Modest Life Orb Mesprit can take a Scald and scare Pelipper out with Psychic, which can OHKO Pelipper after switching in on Stealth Rock.

**Taunt**: Taunt users such as Qwilfish and Mismagius can force Pelipper to spam Scald or Hurricane since it won't be able to Defog, Roost, or Toxic; they are especially effective when Pelipper is trying to use Defog or Roost. Qwilfish forces Pelipper to switch out, giving Qwilfish a chance to set up Toxic Spikes and Spikes.

**Water Absorb**: Water Absorb users such as Seismitoad don't appreciate a Toxic but can wall Pelipper if it isn't running Hurricane or U-turn; they force Pelipper to switch out or try to stall them out with Toxic if it is being run. Seismitoad has no problem using Pelipper switching out to get Stealth Rock up again or use Toxic on the incoming Pokemon.

**Status**: Status such as poison and burn can wear down Pelipper, putting it 2HKO range from Pokemon that it would normally wall; sleep prevents it from doing anything; and paralysis can prevent Pelipper from using Defog or Roost due to a problematic Pokemon switching in on the turn it can't act due to paralysis.

Hi Darnell, before you write this up I have a few comments.

The set name should be changed to "Defensive Defog", the extra word is not needed.
Vileplume should be a notable target for hurricane, as it is immune to toxic and resists scald.
In c&c, I would remove lapras as it is kinda irrelevant as a water absorb user, maybe replace it with mantine or something. However, seismitoad hates being toxiced so note that it isnt always a safe switch in. Maybe change it to water immunities or resists, considering how many of those there are in this tier.
Also, give some examples of special attackers that can 2HKO it (mesprit, mismagius, etc)
Liepard is a horrible example of a taunt user because it shouldnt run taunt (although people on the ladder still use it gdi), so maybe taunt samurott is a better example.
Also, "electric move users" -> "Electric-types"
"Pokemon like primeape/sawk or fighting spam in general are an easy switch in for pelipper." What does this tell the reader about good team options for Pelipper?

Not QC (although I would like to be lol), just my 2 cents.

Knock Off allows Pelipper to remove items against walls and Pokemon with a Choice item. Air Slash can be used as it is more reliable than Hurricane and has a with a 30% chance to flinch. A Life Orb + Rain Dish set may seem like a good idea, but it is completely outclassed by Swanna; you don't want to use Rain Dish as it is incompatible with Defog anyways.

**Electric-types**: Electric-type Pokemon such as Electivire, Rotom, and Lanturn don't appreciate a Toxic or a burn from Scald, but can come in on Defog and OHKO Pelipper with their Electric-type moves due to its 4x weakness to it. Without a Ground-type Pokemon, Rotom can be a problem,(AC) as it can use by using Volt Switch to either OHKO Pelipper or gain momentum from a Pokemon switching in.

**Fast Special Attackers**: Fast special attacking Pokemon such as Mesprit and Mismagius can OHKO Pelipper once it has been damaged by Stealth Rock. Modest Life Orb Mesprit can take a Scald and scare Pelipper out with a Modest Psychic,(AC) which can OHKO Pelipper after switching in on Stealth Rock.

**Taunt**: Taunt users such as Qwilfish and Mismagius can lock Pelipper into spamming Scald or Hurricane since it wouldn't be able to Defog, Roost,(AC) or Toxic. Qwilfish checks Pelipper as it tries to use Defog to remove the entry hazards or Roost to gain back some health, with Taunt so it's forced to switch out, giving the opponent a chance to set up Toxic Spikes and Spikes.

**Water Absorb** Water Absorb users such as Seismitoad don't appreciate a Toxic but can wall Pelipper if it isn't running Hurricane or U-turn; it forces Pelipper to switch out or try and stall it out with Toxic if it is running it. Seismitoad has no problem using that chance as it switches out to get up Stealth Rock again or use Toxic on the incoming Pokemon.

**Status**: Status such as poison and burn can wear down Pelipper,(AC) putting it in the range of a 2HKO from Pokemon it would normally wall; sleep prevents it from doing anything, while and paralysis can prevent Pelipper from using Defog or Roost to heal off damage that was taken previously in the battle due to a problematic Pokemon switching in on the turn it gets paralyzed.

Pelipper is one of the few Defog users which can be utilized well in NU the tier. It has a good a defensive typing with good physical bulk and access to reliable recovery with Roost. It's typing grants it resistances to Bug-, Fighting-, Fire-, Steel-, and Water-type attacks and an immunity to Ground-type attacks,(AC) too. Pelipper is unfortunately 4x weak to Electric-type attacks and with Pokemon such as Rotom and Electivire around, that could be a problem for to Pelipper. Its abilities, Keen Eye and Rain Dish, aren't too useful. Pelipper is outsped by most sweepers,(AC) making it hard to take a hit and then Roost the damage away; switching in becomes even more of a problem due to it being weak to Stealth Rock.

move 4: Toxic / Hurricane / U-turn
ability: Keen Eye
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Nature: Bold

Moves
========
Defog is essential on Pelipper,(AC) as it's a great support for the rest of the teammates by removing hazards from the field. Roost allows Pelipper to keep its HP high from switching into Stealth Rock and is great for stalling out Pokemon in tandem with Toxic. Scald is a reliable Water-type STAB move for Pelipper which has a 30% chance of burning opponents. This which is really appreciated when combined with Pelipper's Defense, allowing it to survive hits from the physical side better. Toxic allows Pelipper to hit Pokemon such as Grass- and Water-type Pokemon which resist Scald or Seismitoad which is immune to Scald thanks to Water Absorb. U-turn is another option,(AC) as it allows Pelipper to gain momentum on Pokemon who that are going to switch, not wanting to take a super effective move or risk getting burned. Hurricane is a Flying-type STAB which allows Pelipper to hit the many Grass-type Pokemon in the tier which don't mind getting burned such as Lilligant, Vileplume, and Sceptile; however, the risk of missing is an issue.

Set Details
========
The EVs are standard, allowing Pelipper to withstand a good amount of physical hits before needing to use using Roost to gain back HP. Keen Eye is unfortunately the only ability that should be used due to Rain Dish not being compatible with Defog. Leftovers provides Pelipper with a small amount of passive recovery each turn. A Bold nature,,(RC) in tandem with maximum Defense investment, maximizes Pelipper's Defense.

Usage Tips
========
Roost should be used to keep Pelipper above 50%-60% of health as it is a vital Pokemon on the team to clear hazards and get Toxic on opposing Pokemon and stall them out. You want to switch Pelipper into Pokemon it can counter such as Feraligatr and Poliwrath,(AC) which don't appreciate getting burned from Scald or taking a Hurricane, respectively. When faced against them, Pelipper wants to either Defog to remove the hazards, Toxic to stall out Pokemon,(AC) or Scald predicting the switch in hope of getting a burn with the damage on the incoming Pokemon. Pelipper is a defensive wall and should rarely switch into a special attack unless it's resisted and Pelipper is at a good amount of health; instead, bring Pelipper in on physical attacking Pokemon, as that allows it to Roost or Defog. With Toxic, Pelipper threatens Seismitoad, keeping it from coming and causing problems, as Scald heals it, due to Water Absorb. Toxic on Pelipper avoids Seismitoad coming in and causing problems due to its Water Absorb ability making Scald restore its health.(I dunno, I just kinda didn't like some of the phrasing. This probably isn't a necessary change, just suggested.)

Team Options
========
Defensive Grass-type Pokemon such as Ferroseed, Vileplume,(AC) and Roselia make good partners as they resist Electric-type attacks. Ferroseed gets a special mention for also resisting Rock-type attacks meaning it resists both of Pelipper's weaknesses. Offensive Fire-type Pokemon such as Typhlosion and Pyroar appreciate Pelipper as a teammate due to it being able to take Water-type and Ground-type attacks aimed towards them and providing Defog support. Ground-type Pokemon such as Seismitoad, Golem, and Golurk are immune to Electric-type attacks which allows them to come in and hit them back hard; they also resist Rock-type attacks. Pokemon such as Kangaskhan and Audino which are weak to Fighting-type attacks appreciate Pelipper as a teammate as it is an easy switch-in(Add hyphen) due to resisting it and its high Defense.

You told me to add an 's' to 'it' but then the sentence wouldn't make sense. This is the only part I left the same ^.^

This is ready. Raseri! Thank you once again everyone.
