    Any rates on this Grumpig?
Again, might be 2/3 pixels too long, blame the tail.
(I really hope this is the right sized one, not spoink sized >.>)

Well, the head is prettymuch blocking the body. 4-legged Pokemon look much better when they're at an angle so you can get the full effect of the body.

You can see plenty of its body. Only its chest area is blocked.

Posting to say that I think people are taking the "looking back" pose a bit too far.

Does someone want to do a pixel over of this art I just drew?

It's the right size... I think.

Nice sprite, but I don't think dithering should be used here as Drifblim is not furry.

i am actually not sure why dithering is used at all as i didn't notice any on the official pokemon sprites.. furry or not. correct me if i'm wrong

@Darkanine: the huntail is cute, but it has a long squiggly body that you could do something with, instead of making it a wavy diagonal line. be creative!

I love that Drifblim! I think the beak of Altaria needs to be more pronounced though [needs to be higher up also]. Post the reservations you want here Bucky and I'll add them ;D

Sorry for not updating over the weekend guys, I was without internet for the most part (I jumped on at an internet cafe randomly but didn't have time to update this).

Lugia needs some more black outline I think. Also the triangles around its eyes should probably be longer (in general try to make it slightly more elegant than brutish).

Pikachu kind of looks like it has been slammed against a wall with a hammer - maybe go for a more orthodox pose? Manaphy also looks kind of disjointed and insane from my point of view, but I'd like a second opinion on that.

Grumpig isn't emphasising its bulkiness there.

    I think that's all, updating.

    Examples of dithering for Pika:
    [IMG]Legs
[IMG]Bottom half is dithered. I'm also like 99% sure that Beldum isn't furry.
    [IMG]curves

And basically 50% of sprites have at least a 4 pix^2 section of dithering, not sure why. but here, it seems used a lot more than necessary.

That looks pretty darn good, Bucky! I can only see one point that you could fix, and then it would look perfect, up to the point that I'd probably push it through the QC ranks. Just change the shading on the neck so that it's facing the upper left corner and you're set. Great Job!

@pika:The Lotad needs more shading on the blue part. Right now it just llooks too flat.

@Scepticallistic: The only thing that I can suggest that hasn't5 been already is that you should add another darker layer of shading to some parts of T-tar's body. Not sure how that would work, but right now the lack of shading makes it look just a tad flat, IMO.

Thanks Alch. I'm gonna stick with these for now.

    Mightyena
    Mismagius
    Ambipom
    Vulpix
    Growlithe

I fixed up the Drifblim & Altaria. Is this better?

Maybe halve that for now :P I doubt others will go for those Pokemon.

Choose the 4 most important ones please, I'll informally keep the others open for you.

I didn't miss it. I moved it higher up, but I'm having trouble making the beak look more...beaky.

You know, Short of closing the beak (Which I'm sure you consciously chose not to do) I can't really think of any way for you to make it more like a beak either. Maybe make the angle at the tip a little more acute than it currently is.

    thanks for the dithering examples.

and personally I quite like helix's pikachu, but I reckon my opinion doesn't count for anything XD

hmm! the driftblim is nice but i think there are some little shading errors that need to be fixed:

    see this:

notice that the body is actually just one piece, instead of appearing folded into each other, as the shading on your piece implies. same applies for the bandage, which seems to have a light source of its own! since it is flat, it should be shaded on the same contours as the rest of the body, just in a different color. imagine a colorful ball, each color does not have its own shading.

and some other nit-picky points, also note that the arms are flat, whereas you've sort of given them thickness. the 'fingers' on the nearest arm to us has also been bugging me for a while. :b seems slightly awkardly shaped? doesn't have the 'flow'.

    just my two cents.

Flat in a cartoony fashion, hopefully you know what I mean.

Bucky that beak needs to be higher up still.

I added in Mareep's leg. Bronzong is ALMOST finished, just have to do a minor fix on one of the arms.

Eggs are cute looks fine, but the shading on eggs you tore seems off, especially on the leaves, on the right side. I'm not sure there should be the third light shade on the tips there. Also, I think it could use some more dithering on the "trunk". See the torterra sprite that was made for an idea of what I'm talking about.

    On another note,
I'm working on doing shading for flareon.
