Take your pick then.
I know, the black outlining does bother me a little bit too. But I'll try to change it. The problem is that I use the original colors of the HG/SS sprite and that the lightst color of outlining is really too light to make it look natural.
I always forget something >_> I was concerned about the lighter shading on the segments. I can understand why, but it looks slightly out of place at the moment. Also maybe connect the black line on its back all the way up and see how that looks.
Okay, have fun. I'm not gonna do this anymore if the updater doesn't even address posts. The hell is wrong with the two Pikas ALCHEMATOR.
Alch, while you're here, can you put in reservations for Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina-A for me? Thanks!
Edit: Lol oops, I already asked this in my previous post. I must have forgot, tehe. Don't mind me, carry on.
They still look flat. I'm inclined to believe that it is the pose and not the shading, though you may want to take another look at it if you think it will help. Also thanks for doing the gender difference, but I'll probably only dig those out at the end when we're doing all of the shinies etc.
Please be patient, I'm only human ^_^
EDIT: Just proven.
And Alch, I think you forgot to put the Trapinch into the Tinypic. ;D
Helix I'm liking that Vaporeon a lot more. :D
Alright, I'd love to try this, what's a good way to start?
Also, what are you gonna do with backsprites? or how will the "battle screen" look ?
Ohai just dropping by, to.....you know......
Mehhhhh I don't think that Arcanine is complete. I think that leg...still looks...bendy...and....painful.....
Just saying, not like any edits I make to it are gonna go through.
I think the leg is fine and Arcanine looks great. It's how it was drawn originally:
Hide (Move your mouse to the hide area to reveal the content)
And it's how they bend:
Hide (Move your mouse to the hide area to reveal the content)
I'm sorry it causes you discomfort. :P
It's fairly obvious it doesn't pivot more abruptly, it's more of a ..... bend......
But whateverrrrrr I'mma be making my Charmander.
I like its pose just fine, as did others when I first posted them.. Can you maybe edit it to make it less flat? Cause it looks fine to me, maybe I'm blind. ._. Sorry for snapping at you, I just don't like doing work when it doesn't really go anywhere.
Thanks Scepti. :)
EDIT: I made a few changes to Vaporeon. I think you weren't supposed to use parts of existing sprites right? Vaporeon's just a big 3rd Gen one.. lol.
Ho-oh WIP for y'all.
Whats wrong with the mew on the first page?
It didnt go anywhere..
It was too large.
Numel, Porygon lineart,
What was wrong with piplup and marshtomp?
Alch, you had me repost snorlax for sizing.. but I didn't see you comment on it..
I dont like him, help me out..
That snorlax again for simplicity..
So I need comments on piplup, marshtomp and snorlax's size..
(If you can find a pose that makes him bigger, be my guest.. hes one of those guys that just doesn't fit)
I like this one, actually.. Comments?
Finally dl'd Paint.Net. So here's an Eevee. And Vaporeon. :)
asdkjalsdf Nopie I'm so sorry. ;-; I thought it was weird that Giratina wasn't reserved... or didn't look reserved... but yeah, I kinda realized while looking back through the gallery that he didn't look big enough, so I'll check out different poses, I guess? I hadn't started shading yet, so no big deal really.
You quoted Wichu asking for size checks, that doesn't quite constitute a size confirmation ;D I didn't add Marshtomp because you said you were considering a different pose, I do like it though. I didn't notice a completed version of Piplup either, I'll add that. Porygon looks great. I think the problem with Numel is that too much of it is in darkness.
I like the pose of the Eevee, but it currently looks a bit square, maybe even out the tail slightly (I know it's difficult on something so small). Vaporeon looks good apart from a couple of minor points - the ridge on its back isn't very uniform, and the back [our] left leg should probably just connect straight to the thigh. Otherwise, good work :)
Elekid hasn't passed because someone said some time ago that they were going to make a couple of shading fixes before letting it through. I think it was aXl? I'll chase him up on that.
Huhuhu the website has been updated with the newest additions.
I also think the Ditto and the Elekid can pass. :o
I've had to resize this, and I prefer the slightly overgrown one. But meh, can I get some criticism/ comments (Transparency on approval)
It looks so flat. ._. It appears you tried to resize it just by decreasing its height, but leaving its width intact. I'm not so sure that was a good idea. XD I'm not sure what to suggest, so I'll wait for others to give their comments.
And finally, Onix is done! Well, doneish, I know it has some iffy bits, but I've finished the sprite in general.
So, any comments, concerns, etc.?
I think it was 3ish pixels width and 6 pixels height.
A second copy with a smaller width:
It's fine, it was no one's fault. If you're having trouble finding poses I'd recommend this one, it was the one I was planning on using when I got around to Gira-O :
You'd have to edit it a bit yourself first, of course, but this sort of pose is exactly what a Pokemon the size of Giratina needs to present itself as large as it is in such a small space.
Helix, I quite like your Vaporeon. One small thing I think may need touching up is the front leg on our right - it looks a little too angular right now, so round it out a bit. Eevee looks good too, but I agree with Alch, it does look a little blocky at the moment, so if you just smooth out a few lines here and there it should be fine. Also the angle of its mouth seems a bit off, so maybe take a look at that as well.
DjGopher, your Porygon is fabu. Numel is great too, I think it could use a bit more light on its face though.
Solstice, Onix looks a little cross-eyed at the moment, you should position its pupils so that it will be looking more to the bottom right of the screen. Also I think you could do with some gradually darker shading on the rock segments further down its body to give them the sense of being further away. Otherwise I think I like it!
Baaah, I need to find time to get some sprites going myself. Also, Alch, counting Turtwig now (hooray! been waiting ages for him to get in!) I have 41 sprites finished, not 40. ;)
