Blam, Safe Search. All the issues and problems just became solved.

Besides, who would look up Pokemon X Videos on google? Use Youtube. If you don't a kid finding bad things on the internet just use safe search or limit what sites they have access to with parental controls. Besides, Pokemon X/Y videos, Pokemon X/Y information etc., seems more logical to look up as well.

I think an in-depth look at the character's personal struggles and a more mature pokemon game for older audiences.

Watch as it sells no copies.

Pokemon makes money because it appeals mainly to kids.

Pokemon makes money because it is a strong rpg collection game with strong recognizability and a relentless advertising campaign in terms of regular wifi events, anime, movies, a CCG, and games.

I enjoy the carefree nature of the games, not the brutal life-or-death struggles of the... wait... I do Nuzlocke challenges.

I might play that, but I wouldn't like it as much if that's what the central theme were.

Given the popularity of Nuzlocke in the past couple generations, what if GameFreak implemented a Nuzlocke mode, possibly part of a New Game+ option?

Actually, I wouldn't mind if Game Freak made a separate "monster" series to appeal to the older audience, those of us who have been with Pokemon since the beginning of time. They should figure that we might still like the series and make one separate for us with different monsters, of course, but more in depth RPG elements like choices in-game. Well at least that would be a fantasy of mine.

Other than that, yes Pokemon is geared towards the chil'rens so a dramatic change like that probably would sell less. I'm still appalled at how they've kept our interest for so many years while still being marketed as a "kids" game.

What I don't get is why feel hate/disappointment about Pokémon being a game for everyone. It's good like it's already; not everything in the life is deep as hell, and midpoints like Pokémon Colosseum did show what a everyone's game can have without being a problem.

Nostalgia, unwillingness to change etc., It would be nice to get a more mature pokemon, don't get me wrong, but it is not nearly as profitable nor as marketable to do so. The closest thing we have to them catering to mature audiences is the competitive scene, if you want to count it.

So to go in the way of a different conversation, do you guys think more Pokèmon will be drawn by non-Japanese?

Generation V brought us the Vanillite line, Golett line, and Vullaby line, all designed by American James Turner.

For me, the reason why I keep coming back to pokemon is the gameplay and the story. It may be childish, but I dislike why everything has to be "mature". Mature, to me, doesn't mean characters with huge issues that take up all the conversations. That's not realistic either. Gen 5 did ok just occasionally bringing up some issues, but not overplaying them. The point is, I don't want a pokemon game that deals with abandonment or heartbreak, because I don't need imaginary problems.
Of course, if you mean "mature" as in less cartoonish violence, or more language used, I think that might detract from the enjoyment of the game unless a big change in the characters is also made. Maybe one or two trainers who are serious sore losers, but swearing and violence every battle is just as bad as childish naivety, and when the naivety feels far less hostile and prominent, I'd say naivety.

Vanilite, oh how I don't understand you.... anyway, other than the frozen treat, I don't see why not. Btw, I don't hate vanilite, I just dislike how it looks.

I realize that for marketing and other reasons Game Freak does not want to scare away newcomers to the series but I would be happy above all else if X and Y were significantly more difficult than their predecessors, or at least have an option at the beginning of the game to choose a difficulty. I thought it was obnoxious that difficulties had to be unlocked in BW2 and that only Black 2 starts out with the option, even though it was a step in the right direction. While I have always loved the games because of the endless variety of teams and strategies to use, I have always been disappointed by how easy they are. Generally, I want to see trainers using Pokemon that are always evolved if they've reached that level, and would like to see a substantial increase in trainer's Pokemon levels across the board, maybe increasing ten levels between each gym or so. Ideally, by the time you're facing the champion or whatever, they have a team of straight 100's. Since the AI of the trainers isn't likely to improve much, at a minimum they should be given Pokemon that at least begin to pose a challenge to seasoned players.

It depends on the staff, really. BW1* had everyone involved with the game design a pokemon or two (or in Turner's case, 7; and I wouldn't be surprised if everyone made around that much but just never mentioned in interviews), so if GameFreak has brought more in then probably.

FYI, I think the one Korean on-staff designed Emboar (& maybe Pignite).

*And judging by comments made in interviews, this has been done since the gen 1 days. The woman who designed Pikachu designed Minccino

Agreed. Most of the trainers even after the E4 are a joke. They all have unevolved Pokemon even though they are level 60. It's annoying. I want a hard difficulty that gives everyone much higher levels and every gym a full team of 6. I wouldn't mind facing trainers with lvl 100s too. Would be awesome and you would get heaps of experience to train your pokes

James Turner is british, you silly misinformed children.
It would be nice if Game Freak brought in more foreign artists, but they would likely have to speak japanese to some extent and commute to Carrot Tower every once in a while. James Turner is listed to work for Game Freak specifically, not in an international Pokemon office. He was also the art director for Pokemon XD, Trozei and Battle Revolution, so he's been a helpful hand to Game Freak for a while. Designing Pokemon is a rather high honor for anyone, and James Turner just happens to be a special story of interest.

Specifically, he handled the 3d event scenes in the games. So you have him to thank for those nice sequences with Reshiram/Zekrom.

Awesome indeed, but it would take a lot of effort to make. It would mean programming every single trainer/gym leader/elite four member in the game.

Personally, I think there should be a finite number of NPCs, but that they should grow in level (based on how often you've fought them), and be redistributed to key points in the game after you beat the elite 4. But you won't HAVE to fight them. However, there should also be fisherman/bugcatchers/etc. that catch local pokemon at random and you have to fight each time you walk by them (since you should be prepared to fight pokemon from the local area).

I love Pokéjungle's rumours because he doesn't care about legitimacy (he always says the rumor is "almost certainly fake") and that's fucking cruel because sometimes some thought-out ones pop up and urgh I want that starter trio so much, fuck that perfect reverse triangle bullshit WHERE'S MY VIKING

...and I have never thought of that. It makes things much worse
