    Lanturn=friendly neighborhood angler fish

Nope. No dolphins yet. there are "dolphins" but no classic blackfish delphinidae-inspired dolphins yet.

And Dewgong is based on a close relative to manatees. Still, a revamped look for sea cows would be much loved.

In other news, I want an Electric/Psychic.

Goodness, for how much water Hoenn had, you'd think they would have had a squid, dolphin, manatee, and others. There were like 10 kinds of Pokemon for about a dozen water routes, and basically all of them were Tentacool and Wingull.

    Let's see here:

    Wingull
    Pelipper (Rare)
    Wailmer
Wailord (1% chance on route 129)
Staryu (Super Rod, only in Lilycove)
    Tentacool
Tentacruel (1% chance in abandoned ship)
    Sharpedo (Super Rod only)
    Luvdisc (Super Rod only)

And then underwater you have your choice of:

    Clamperl.
    Lanturn.
    Relicanth.

That's not bad variety, except that unless you're actively searching for certain Pokemon by fishing or wandering around for hours, you end up with this:

    Surface:
    Wingull - knows Supersonic.
    Wailmer - knows Water Pulse.
    Tentacool - knows Supersonic.

    Or if you escape underwater:

    Underwater:
    Clamperl - terrible XP drop.
    Lanturn - knows Supersonic.
Relicanth - loads of defense, Yawn.

I love Hoenn to death, but it could seriously use some water variety.

I never actually connected that stuff before...that is a good point. I played Emerald for the LONGEST time and never actually noticed the any of that. Even with the lack of water variety, I still think that Emerald was the best game. Emerald's Frontier was incredible.
I wonder if they will revamp the Frontier again in X and Y or just do the Subway again...

Sock monkey and tiki god Pokemon. I want them now. Also, a pegasus would kick ass.

And I want a time-manipulating clock-based Pokemon with signature techniques that deal damage and control your opponent's attack choices.

We already have a time based pokemon, but a clock one....Klinklang is the only one that comes close.

Technically speaking, Dialga's motif is clocks. It has parts on it shaped like partial gears (that match time Time Gears of the Mystery Dungeon games) and a clock-hand pattern all over it.

Now, here's a wacky idea for a possible R/S remake: there was never much incentive to win all the contests except for the ribbons and the sweet picture. (Also the trainer card star.) What if there was a move that increased in power based on Condition for each contest stat? Or the number of ribbons. It's just wishful thinking, I suppose, since my Wailord will soon obtain all 65 ribbons that one non-event Pokemon can get. (Though I guess a purified Shadow Pokemon from XD or Colosseum would have 66.)

Still, more moves like Return aren't out of the question with the whole 'increased value of friendship' thing.

So apparently the Mewtwo that will be distributed from June to September will have "top" IVs, so it'll probably have flawless IVs. As I'm not a RNGer, this is actually really nice. As the Mewtwo is part of the movie, we can expect that everyone will be able to get it on wifi right? Maybe it will also trigger an in-game event in X and Y like Celebi did in BW?

Talking about wifi events, I still want my Meloetta (I live in Europe) and Deoxys. There need to be worldwide wifi events for X and Y. I know it's sort of fair for Japan to have more events, but the situation right now is a bit too unfair.

They only ever had to use locked natures in DPPt whenever they wanted to distribute shinies; BW doesn't have this problem (see: shiny Golurk and Hydreigon events). Besides shinies, I think the only time we have got a locked-nature pokémon was that Quiet Eruption Heatran (WHY). I don't think that is enough precedent to expect "Troll Freak" to screw us.

And I would expect a, huh, Naive Mewtwo at least, having watched the first movie and all.

Would you also count Hardy Surf Pikachu, Adamant Electivire, and Modest Magmortar from PBR? Or hardly since they're a special case, too?

Because we've got no news to speculate upon, and we're talking animals that should be pokemon, indulge my nerdy fantasies for a minute :nerd: If you don't have a minute, just look at the pictures. and you'll get the idea

Two pokemon I'd love to see:

a Binturong (aka. bearcat) based pokemon. One of my favorite animals. Could easily see it evolving from an eye eye or other tree dwelling nocturnal based pokemon. They use their prehensile tails (which are thick as a root) to both climb from tree to tree and communicate. Apparently they smell like popcorn (which even sounds like pokedex flavour text) Related to the civet family, these guys are essentially easy going ominiverous big cats

    Dark type anyone?

And a strangler fig based pokemon. Reason being: Gamefreak loves giving us aggressive plants; the strangler fig is as aggressive as they come. They start as seeds, quickly sprout into vines and then grow large enough to swallow entire trees, bolders and buildings. A single strangler fig can engulf multiple trees, so that what looks like a forest, is infact just one plant, that has basically eaten all the others. This is a picture of one spreading over a ruin - I could see something like this in design, but with the roots twisting around holes, to look like eye sockets, giving the whole thing the appearance of a skull. (edit - if you look up and to the right of the doorway (mouth) it already looks like its got a closed eye, kinda like its yawning...) Grass Dark (or rock) with regenerator?

The cool thing is how these two life forms interact in real life:

The Binturong is a well-known disributor of the fig's seeds, because it often choses to sleep in the branches of the strangler, and eat its fig fruit. The seeds whithin the fruit actually benefit from passing through the binturong's hardy gut, because they're covered in a husk that needs dissolving before they can grow (ensuring that they only grow after being transported far away from the orginal tree by the binturong). And you could imagine that the strangler fig's fruit also attract the omnivorous binturong's prey of birds, frogs and bugs and even snakes. Its the perfect partnership.
I like to see natural relationships between different pokemon, and I think this is potentially a really cool and sinister one. Together they could take over an entire forest!

Hmm... The bearcat kinda looks like Skuntank...
The strangler fig could make an awesome Carnivine evolution, though!

I really really really hope for a Surskit alternate evolution that keeps the Bug/Water typing.
Other pokemon that I want to see evlutions of are Solrock/Lunatone/Druddigon/Durant/Tropius.

While we're on the subject of animals/things we'd like to see made into Pokemon...

    Show Hide

Mantis Shrimp. Water/Fighting. 125 to 150-ish Attack, and every single physical priority move in the game. As for ability... I would say Huge Power, but that would be so broken lol. Maybe something like Iron Fist?

    Show Hide

Sasquatch. Normal/Grass. Abilities would be Stench/Run Away/Intimidate. Probably have high Attack and decent Speed.

    Show Hide

Mimic octopus. Water/Psychic. Most likely have good SpA, SpD and Spd, and pathetic HP, Atk, and Def. Ability would either be Impostor or Illusion.

So yeah, just a few ideas.

[IMG](I do not own this pic)
    Steelide
    Steel / Dragon

Evolved form of Steelix using Trade + Metal Armor (This is still possible cuz of Porygon)
    Stats: 90 / 120 / 200 / 63 / 92 / 25 (Total BST = 600)
Ability: Sturdy / Iron Chest (Boost SDef 30% in sand) / Sheer Force (DW)
    Tier: OU (cuz of speed)

Steelide @ Life Orb | Sheer Force
    Adamant | 60 HP / 252 Atk / 196 SDef
    Moves?

Lol, this would be boss with defense set or offensive destruction unpredictabilty. Counters: Ghost-types
Checks: Aura Sphere Togekiss, Earth Power Landorus, anything with special super-effective move, choice specs too

ok this is fake but cool

I think it's better that there are a lot of very good and very bad pokémon. Without the large difference between good and bad and the shit tons of useless utilitymons like Unown, Delibird, Dunsparce, Ledyba, Cherrim, Farfetche'd, I think the game would be rather dull

I would like these things/animals to become Pokémon:

We need a sponge-based Pokémon. That's it. I was thinking of a Water/Grass with Water Absorb; though an immunity to a type you already is 4x weak seems redundant, it is fitting to the nature of a sponge; to absorb water. inb4 spongebob puns

Who besides me want a genie/djinn-based Pokémon? No, I am not speaking of Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus. Despite the jokes about them being genies, will all know that they are kamis (although I deeply think that they are somewhat genie-based). Still, we need a pokémon that is really based on a genie, with With on its moveset. I was thinking of a Steel-Psychic with high special defense, but it would become too Jirachi-esque. However, to differentiate itself from Jirachi, it could have a larger special movepool, better Special Attack, and worse Speed. These are all ideas that I had.

I always had a deep wish about a Pokémon based on a cockatiel. Maybe something like a mythical cockatiel with a Flying-typing with Fire, Electric, or Normal as primary type, with high speed and Special Attack. It could be made as an evolution for Chatot (which is based on a lovebird, an species related to cockatiels).

    Finally:

Don't ask me why, but I've always wanted a Pokémon based on a pop singer (don't also ask me why I've chosen this photo).

A sponge would be awesome. Give it high Sp.def too.

A psychic type Lamp mon would be cool.

Type diversity amongst flying types is always welcome.

An argument could be made for Meloetta.
