Not if they suck man, not if they suck. I don't know a lot about peafowls, but I think a better ability would be unaware, as oblivious is truly overdone. Also, not big pecks, but maybe cute charm for females? The males are going to be more intimidating after all.

Holy wow just wow. This would be an amazing new ability with UTILITY rather than focus on power and speed. However, this could hurt stall as now glass cannons (HO) can switch-in freely. Imagine if Deo-A got this. Wow. Good idea!

Also, in regards to the Glass Plate/Metal Brace idea, I think this would make Taunt and Substitute users (does Sub block Trick?) go through the roof as well as make the metagame a lot more stall-based. Also, an interesting gimmick would to have 6 Trick users with the plates. If they can't block your Trick (say an all-out attacker or a Choice item user), they're screwed.

    Idea on this:
You know the little doll that they use for substitute?

    What if…
    That was an actual pokemon
    And this was it's ability

FYI Peafowl isn't the female equivalent of a peacock. The word you're looking for is peahen. Peafowl encompasses both.

This might be a little late but there are little pincers that both Venos share so I seriously doubt that theory, as I've heard it on other pokemon sites.
EDIT: Also the hands turn into little lines.

Evolution in the games is more of a metamorphosis. A complete metamorphosis IRL is when the animal, in it's adult stage, looks completely different from when it was a child. This behavior is most commonly found amongst BUGS.
And that's reason #1 why I hate that venonat->Butterfree theory.

Yeah, especially with the fact that some could say Butterfree was the first pokemon.

You guys know how the idea for Pokemon began?
The creator loved to watch a certain animal as a kid. You know what animal?
BUTTERFLIES. AND THEIR THREE STAGES OF METAMORPHOSIS.

So I HIGHLY doubt that butterfree isn't part of that line, as that was probably one of the first ideas.

Considering the roots in bug fighting it's weird how long it took for the type to become, like, useful
    In any way

Lol, he said "bug fighting". I was always so sure that Heracross must have been a wet dream in-progress for Tajiri ever since its creation.

Whether or not you're correct, your reasoning is riddled with inaccuracies.

The first bug-types created were scyther / Pinsir, but even then, they took a damn long while to add them into the code - they're the 26th and 29th mons, respectively; Rhydon and Kangaskhan are far earlier in the code. Butterfree is at the 125th index. The fact that Pinsir is early in the code is not surprising given that it strongly resembles a stag beetle (a common fighting bug in japan).

Additionally, although Satoshi Tajiri was a fan of bugs, he was not specifically interested in metamorphosis - he was just an avid collector.

(this still doesn't explain why the bug type has largely been absolute shit for most gens)

After warching the Sylveon vs Umbreon video did anyone think like
Sylveon : I have already taken your spot as the best Eevelution , and now I would like to destroy you ! ( All this with that crrepy smile . A bit late I know but I had exams ! )

I love this speculation that Sylveon is better than Umbreon, all based off a measly video. Umbreon is and always will be the most awesome Evelution without a doubt. It will take more than ribbons and a creepy smile to derail the Alpha of the Evee.

what I find interesting is the fact that all the starters may be typed against each other in some way. While the initial fire, water, grass typing is still there, the dual type will provide a reverse power within the three.

Read the first 50 or so pages (which are mostly entirely on this subject), then see if you can think of anything new to say on the topic.

Fuck you arachnophobics. You can deal. I'm a myrmecophobic (fear of ants), and I lived through Durant.

There's quite a difference between the cartoon version in pokemon and real life images. I'm fine with spinarak and ariados and galvantula, but that image of the "trapdoor spider" will probably haunt me for days, less so with the plain image but still nightmare fuel. And I'm sure if someone posted some creepy nightmarish ant image on here and you said you had that legitimate fear, the mods would remove it as they did the spiders.

The RB Sprites make a much clearer argument than the artwork does - it's much harder to say that they weren't accidentally switched at some point. The style and shading of the spritework become consistent within the adjusted lines. Venonat>Butterfree make a very compelling case in the original Red/Green japanese releases:

Now, if only pokemondb had monochrome sprites for green, too, instead of having to rely on bulbapedia and having the colour prejudice things (uhhhhhhh).

Shockwave527, you make a good point: cartoon images do not capture the real, physical essence of a bug or whatever. It looks made-up and you know it is. However, a photo looks like real thing. To say that you are afraid of something but was just fine with a 2D drawing of something based off the thing you fear, means nothing. You get the feeling of the real thing with pictures, which can be very scary. In the end sensitivity to others is the best path, regardless of your opinions.

To anyone I offended: I'm sorry, I meant my comment as a humorous comment. I'm sorry if it was not taken that way. I realize that your phobia is valid, as is mine. That being said, I will never, EVER have Durant on any team of mine. Fuck that Pokémon.

    Troll ability idea:
Insta-setup of SR when sent in

    Even trollier idea:
Take the ability above and give it to something like magikarp, maybe a weak rock type made up of a pile of crumbling gravel. Erozin!

Speaking of Durant, I wish they added more to it in terms of formes or evolutionary forms, like how an ant colony has soldiers (with big pincers), a queen (gender specific evolution ala Vespiquen), worker ants, etc.

Though that kind of throws the 'balance' of the Durant/Heatmore rivalry but hey Durant loses big time to Fire anyway.

Well if it makes y'all feel any better, I know it probably won't, but Amblypygids are actually harmless to humans and they make great pets.Though I can't say much about people's phobia's since I have a pretty strange one myself.

What I really want to see made into a Pokemon is a Axolotl:
    It's an amphibian btw (open)

speaking of durant why is durants rival heatmor, super effective against it - doesnt that defeat the purpose of a rivalry if one is super outclassed
