Pokemon Fan Event Center

This was just announced on Bulbanews, and looks like it could have potential to be something pretty fun! Basically, it's a way to redirect the game's attempt to connect to the GTS, and instead connect to fan servers to download fan created event Pokemon. Of course, the fun thing is that they can be whatever the fans want them to be...

If I wasn't on my Blackberry, I would find that "we don't play with Pokemon how we want it to be" quote; this isn't something that affects Smogon at all. It's very cool, yes, but Shoddy isn't going to allow fan-created Event Pokemon (99% of which will probably end up being Flare Blitz Flareon).

The technology is actually interesting -- private GTS servers.

This application of it, though, is not.

Yeah, it' good to know that they have cracked the GTS, but I don't think that this has anything to do with competitive Pokemon.
