Pokemon: The New First Gen (Submissions for new Pokemon Over, Except costumes)

Status
Not open for further replies.
this is a question out of pure curiousity, but will there be pokemon specific costumes, or is there a costume for each type?

eg: Galvanized Helmet: Changes the secondary type of this pokemon to Electric. Changes the holders ability to Electric terrain. Adds Thunder, Thunderbolt, Wild Charge, Discharge, Thunder Punch and Nuzzle to this pokemon's moveset. Gives + 20 Speed, +10 Attack and Special Attack. loses 10 Defence and Special Defence.

I feel like this could add a new twist to some existing pokemon, and spice up the metagame a bit. just my idea though
Even though I don't own the thread I think I'll put in my thoughts on this:
-I do like the idea that any Pokémon can hold costumes
-If this does happen, then I think it should work like Z-Moves, it's available to all Pokémon, but certain pokemon get it(That reminds me, I still need to get my Super Pikachu submission in)

Well, here is my post for shinnies. I will update it when I finish more:

Enlargened:

If anyone wants to edit these at all, feel free to.
Is this a full Pallette Swap?
Also, I just edited it to make a bit cooler, with some darker legs and such, but it wont let be upload. I'll uppload it when I can.

There will be a costume for each specific type, with a few exclusive ones, but I was thinking that they would only be form changes, but I also really like the idea that any Pokemon could hold them, maybe not actually giving them new abiilities or anything, but possibly getting some interesting effect from it, such as a type change.

It wasn't a full palette swap. I don't have the right version of paint to do that so I tried my best with manually going in and replacing it. The only thing I replaced in this shiny is it's back to make it blue instead of read.

Ok, how's this for a mythical?

Small planetoid like Pokémon with Shields Down. When it reaches 50%, the core will suck in and reveal a black hole...
I like that Concept, but perhaps since Shields down is just a form change, maybe it should just have two Forms

i feel like a 327 bst change is a bit absurd honestly. maybe give it 110 offenses and around 170-180 speed. since it's a slow, glass cannon that can't deal any damage honestly, unless the ability causes the opponent to faint before causing damage. and even then, special attacks destroy it.

Something literally just came to my head:

You know how Decidueye, Incineroar, and Primarina have exclusive Z-moves, right? Well, they're starters and it seems that every group of starters will have a unique new thing (Gen 1 and 3 have Megas, Gen 6 had signature moves, Gen 7 had Z-Moves, and Gen 4 (probably Gen 2, too) will get something in a remake down the line and Gen 5 should get something alongside Gen 8 if that happens). Our region also introduces costumes. So, that begs the question: Will our starters have something special, and if yes, will it be exclusive Z-Moves to go with exclusive moves a la Gen 7, Megas a la Gen 1/3, or Exclusive Costumes? Personally, I vote Megas cuz I love the Mega Evolution mechanic, but that's for us to decide if we want to continue on this topic

In other news, I'm going to work on something now, probably a moveset

A few gimmick ideas

-Ability allows it to "consume" special attacks up to 6 times. This boosts special defense, but lowers speed.
-Ability makes all recovery moves do harm as long as it's on the field
-Ability allows for this Pokemon to damage Flying/Levitating Pokémon with ground type moves for neutral damage

Possible competitive movesets for recent Pokemon I've made movesets for AKA Hyperat and Cruisinsect

Physical Nuke:
Hyperat @ Choice Band / Life Orb
Ability: Hasty
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Giga Impact
- Knock Off
- Iron Tail / Rock Wrecker / Flamethrower
- U-turn / Swords Dance

Special Nuke:
Hyperat @ Choice Specs / Life Orb
Ability: Hasty
EVs: 80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Beam
- Flamethrower
- Shadow Ball
- U-turn / Ice Beam / Thunderbolt

Mixed Work Up, but probs isn't even that good:
Hyperat @ Choice Specs / Life Orb
Ability: Hasty / Quick Claws
EVs: 80 HP / 128 Atk / 128 SpA / 176 Spe
Naive Nature
- Hyper Beam / Facade
- Flamethrower / Hidden Power [Ground]
- Knock Off / Aerial Ace
- Work Up / Charge Beam
Let me talk about this set. EVs make our Atk and SpA equal, though, I'm sure there's a more optimized spread. 176 Speed outspeeds Pheromosa and ties with +1 Zygarde Complete. All of the Slashed moves go with Quick Claws, giving all of them priority. Knock Off works for both sets.
How to use: Set up a Work Up (Hasty) or revenge kill something with Charge Beam (Quick Claws) then starting spamming strong moves (Hasty) or spam decently powerful priority moves (Quick Claws)

SubQD:
Cruisinsect @ Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Quiver Dance
- Scald / Bug Buzz
- Bug Buzz / Roost

Defensive:
Cruisinsect @ Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Toxic
- Roost
- Heal Bell

Swift Swim (Special):
Cruisinsect @ Life Orb / Splash Plate
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Bug Buzz
- Ice Beam / Grass Knot
- Backstroke

I'm not opposed to Megas, and I think a Mega Fungarai would be absolutley amazing.

The Crusinsect Line Movesets seem pretty cool, but I'll have to check whether or not Quiver Dance is OP on it or not. (I Don't think it will be)

I was thinking

Niche: Set Up Sweeper w/ White Herb + Shell Smash
70/45/140/45/140/45 (Shields Up, Rock/Psychic)
70/140/45/140/45/70 (Shields Down, Dark)
The BST's seem a bit low for a Mythical Pokemon, (Typically 600), so maybe
90/63/152/63/152/80
90/152/51/152/51/104
Now, I think I'm Confused, but Is this a form Change or not?
(Also, this thing is going to be Pretty OP, but because it needs to be be under 1/2 health to do any real damage, I think it won't be too bad.)

Are we talking for Other Pokemon, or as potential Non-shield's Down Abilities for the Black hole/Planet Pokemon?

Since some other people are submitting their ideas, I guess I'll do the same:
  • Ability that switches the user type to resist/become immune to an incoming attack.
  • Move that changes type to hit the opponent super effectively.
  • Ability that makes all offensive attacks physical/special
  • Ability that gives the user a third type
  • A typeless Pokemon (no weaknesess/resists)
  • A Pokemon with 2 abilities (imagine Adaptability + Protean)
  • A Pokemon that changes type with the terrain & weather
  • A Pokemon costume for every starter from every generation (I can create a few if wanted)

Imagine a fighting/water type that has some 3rd eye that gives Psychic type STAB.
I got the idea from a Megas for All submission that got rejected. I had to change it's ability... but I made a Water/Steel/Fighting Empoleon. 8 resists, 4 of them being 4x, an immunity to Poison and only 3 weaknesses >_<

Just a thought, but maybe there could be items that do that (and don't increase/decrease stats).

The Pokemon Costume Idea sounds pretty Cool, The terrain Changer Sounds cool as well, And I actually had an Idea for a MOVE that made all physical attacks special, and the two abilities thing can be 1 ability. (Water Bubble)

However, I just want to put something out there.

If you have an idea for something, pitch it, ideas are always great, but it would be much cooler if you could think of a Pokemon to pair it with.

Ras, how about an insect with a drill? Bug/Ground is pretty rare typing and I pretty sure we don't have that yet
I don't care that I'm replying to a month old comment, but Nincada is a Bug/Ground type. Just a small correction that I want to say :P

I said rare, not never before seen. I did know that Nincada is Bug/Ground and so is Wormadam-S. When I said "I['m] pretty sure we don't have that yet", I meant that the project didn't have that yet, not the series. Sorry if this comes off as rude, but I'm just pointing that out.

Howdy all, I bring good tidings and a bunch of ideas to fill some voids.

Fossil Pokemon
Name: Mammini (Mammoth + Mini)
Concept: A baby mammoth with a little control over the elements of its original habitat
Type: Rock/Psychic
Abilities: Frostblood (user gains STAB on its Ice-type moves) / Analytic (Hidden)
Evolves into Mammyth at Level 30
Base Stats:
HP - 85
Atk - 35
Def - 50
SpA - 60
SpD - 50

30 - Power Gem
34 - Hail
37 - Trick Room

23 - Psybeam
25 - Aurora Beam
30 - Power Gem
35 - Hail
39 - Trick Room
43 - Ice Beam
47 - Psychic
51 - Blizzard

Competitive Use:
Mammyth serves as a bulky attacker with a variety of options to manipulate the battlefield. Though its bulk is undermined by an unfortunate seven weaknesses (Grass, Water, Ground, Steel, Bug, Dark, Ghost), it carries much utility in the form of Trick Room, Magic Room, Psychic Terrain, and Hail. It also carries a strong offensive combination with its three STABs, typically Power Gem, Ice Beam, and Psychic, though it may have to forego one or two of these to allow access for more utility.

3-Stage Evolution
Name: Canniver (Canine + Conniving)
Concept: A dog that uses illusions and deception to hunt, based on the Displacer Beast from D&D
Type: Psychic/Dark
Abilities: Steadfast / Strong Jaw / Illusion (Hidden)
Evolves into Orthreat at Level 26
Base Stats:
HP - 50

44 - Nasty Plot
48 - Agility

Name: Orthreat (Orthrus + Threat)
Concept: A combination of Canniver's concept with Orthrus, the two-headed dog
Type: Psychic/Dark
Abilities: Steadfast / Strong Jaw / Illusion (Hidden)
Evolves from Canniver at level 26
Evolves into Cerberuse at level 39
Base Stats:
HP - 60
Atk - 85
Def - 35
SpA - 70
SpD - 70

45 - Nasty Plot
50 - Agility

Name: Cerberuse (Cerberus + Ruse)
Concept: As before, but now it's Cerberus (three heads)
Type: Psychic/Dark
Abilities: Steadfast / Strong Jaw / Illusion (Hidden)
Evolves from Orthreat at level 39
Base Stats:
HP - 70
Atk - 120
Def - 40
SpA - 90
SpD - 90
Spe - 130
BST - 540

Movepool:
Level Up;
0 - Taunt
0 - Torment
0 - Mean Look
0 - Heal Block
0 - Teleport
0 - Trick
0 - Pursuit
1 - Scratch
3 - Growl
5 - Leer
8 - Confusion
12 - Bite
16 - Pursuit
20 - Thunder Fang
24 - Hone Claws
28 - Embargo
32 - Psycho Cut
36 - Crunch
40 - Parting Shot
44 - Psychic Fangs
47 - Nasty Plot
50 - Agility

Competitive Use:
Cerberuse is a strong offensive pivot with its blazing base 130 speed and access to Parting Shot. It can do a variety of things to shut down specific enemy targets with Heal Block, Trick, Mean Look, Pursuit, and Taunt, as well as provide good damage with Crunch and Psychic Fangs backed up by a great 120 base attack and Strong Jaw.

Note that TMs and Egg Moves have not been included.

Tell me what you think!

: After hearing of the creation of Castform,
scientists in Alola thought "Hey, how about we make a Castform that compliments our guardians, the Tapus, who summon terrains?" So, scientists went to work, and after a year, a Terrainiem core was born. As a test, the scientists took the core to the Ruins of Conflict to see how it reacts to Tapu Koko's Electric Surge. The tests was a success, with the core changing into an Electric-type. However, Tapu Koko was not a big fan of a Pokemon created for the sole purpose of abusing it's ability, so it attacked the scientists, forcing them to retreat. Making a decision that would keep the new Pokemon safe, the scientists decided to send the core to the *insert the name of our region here* Region for safe-keeping. It was here where Terrainiem found it's gemstone shell, protecting it's core, and so, all Terrainiems born or cloned after that just had the gemstone shell.
For design, it's a big floating gemstone that's a shiny gray, except for it's center, where it's eyes are. This core changes color based on the terrain.

Competitive Use: Offering a huge movepool and amazing Special Attack,Terrainiem brings a lot to the table. For example, some of the possible sets it could run include: Scarf, Specs, SR + Taunt Lead, Rock Polish, Offensive Calm Mind, SubCM, Terrain Setter, Anti Lead, Calm Mind + Iron Defense + Work Up + Stored Power, and Tapu Support... yeah, that's a lot. It's a versatile Special Normal-type that differentiates itself from Porygon-Z, Exploud, and Mega Pidgeot thanks to it's moves and ability. Really, it's only flaw is an extremely meh Speed Tier (tying with Nidoking and Kommo-o) for sweeping sets and meh overall bulk at 85/105/75.
