[OVERVIEW]

Porygon-Z is an often overlooked Pokemon. Its massive base 135 Special Attack allows it to hit very hard almost anything that doesn't resist its attacks. With Adaptability, STAB Tri Attack reaches an impressive 160 Base Power. Porygon-Z also has a fair amount of versatility, as it can run sets utilizing Choice Specs, Agility, or even Nasty Plot. Unfortunately, Porygon-Z's poor defensive stats, lack of any resistances, and average base 90 Speed leave it vulnerable to being revenge killed. Despite these flaws, Porygon-Z's brute force and wonderful movepool surely make it a Pokemon to watch out for.

[SET]

name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Tri Attack
move 2: Dark Pulse
move 3: Hidden Power Fighting
move 4: Trick / Thunderbolt
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Adaptability
nature: Modest
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

With a Choice Scarf equipped, Porygon-Z becomes a very effective revenge killer. STAB Tri Attack has 160 Base Power thanks to Adaptability, dealing impressive damage to anything that doesn't resist it. Dark Pulse covers Ghost-type Pokemon such as Dusclops, which are immune to Tri Attack. It can also be used against Celebi and other Psychic-types over Tri Attack, because of its handy 20% flinch rate. Hidden Power Fighting is in the third slot to hit Steel-types who resist both Tri Attack and Dark Pulse, such as Bisharp and Registeel, for super effective damage. Trick is the best option for the fourth moveslot, and is extremely useful for crippling Chansey—a major blockade for Porygon-Z—as well as the majority of UU's offensive Pokemon. Thunderbolt can be considered over Trick, but a super effective Thunderbolt is only slightly more powerful than a neutral Tri Attack, so it isn't really necessary.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EV spread maximizes Porygon-Z's Special Attack and Speed, which allows it to outrun Pokemon such as Weavile and Jolteon. Adaptability is the best option on this set, as it gives Porygon-Z a reliable boost, while Download is unreliable and may stop Porygon-Z from revenge killing certain threats.

Entry hazards aid Porygon-Z a lot, weakening the enemy team and potentially allowing Porygon-Z to sweep instead of simply revenge killing opposing threats. Scolipede is a good teammate because it can set up both Toxic Spikes and Spikes, and also resists the Fighting-type attacks Porygon-Z detests. Besides Scolipede, there are numerous good UU Pokemon with a resistance to Fighting-type moves. Bulky Psychic-types, such as Celebi and Cresselia, are great teammates this reason. Generally speaking, though, one shouldn't really expect Porygon-Z to draw in Fighting-type attacks; its defenses are weak enough for the enemy to bring it down with pretty much any reasonably strong attack.

[SET]

name: Choice Specs
move 1: Tri Attack
move 2: Dark Pulse
move 3: Hidden Power Fighting
move 4: Trick / Thunderbolt
item: Choice Specs
ability: Adaptability
nature: Modest / Timid
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Choice Specs gives Porygon-Z the power to tear gaping holes in unprepared teams with its STAB Tri Attack. This set needs some prediction, though, as Porygon-Z can't freely switch moves. Tri Attack is what makes this set so fearsome, with 160 Base Power coming off a massive base 135 Special Attack, further boosted by Choice Specs. Dark Pulse complements Tri Attack nicely, as it hits Ghost-types immune to Tri Attack very hard. Tri Attack and Dark Pulse leave Porygon-Z vulnerable to Steel-type Pokemon, however. Hidden Power Fighting hits all of UU's common Steel-types but Escavalier for super effective damage. Trick should be used in the last moveslot so that Porygon-Z can cripple Chansey, who is the most troublesome Pokemon to this set. Thunderbolt could be used over Trick if you want to hit Flying- and Water-type Pokemon for super effective damage, but Tri Attack almost does as much damage.

[ADDITONAL COMMENTS]

The given EV spread is basic, simply maximizing Porygon-Z's Special Attack and Speed. Porygon-Z lacks the bulk to make much use of defensive EVs, so maximizing its lackluster base 90 Speed is unfortunately the best you can do for its survivability. Adaptability is a great ability, boosting Porygon-Z's power by making the STAB boost 2x instead of 1.5x.

Chansey is the biggest threat to this set, making physical attackers that can break through Chansey's defenses essential. Victini is a good option with its tremendous physical power, and its resistance to Fighting-type attacks could come in handy. Heracross is also a huge threat to Chansey and to the wider UU metagame in general, and unlike many other alternatives, generally welcomes being afflicted with status thanks to Guts. Otherwise, most physical setup sweepers can deal with Chansey, and offensive Pokemon in general will sweep more easily once Porygon-Z has battered the enemy team.

[SET]

name: Nasty Plot
move 1: Nasty Plot
move 2: Tri Attack
move 3: Dark Pulse
move 4: Hidden Power Fighting / Substitute
item: Life Orb
ability: Adaptability
nature: Timid
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Nasty Plot allows Porygon-Z to reach a ridiculously high Special Attack stat of 810 with Modest, or 738 with Timid, which, needless to say, allows it to easily sweep unprepared teams. After just one boost, the only ways to beat this set are to outspeed it or use Chansey with Thunder Wave. STAB Tri Attack will destroy anything in its path after a Nasty Plot boost. Dark Pulse is there to hit Ghost-type Pokemon such as Dusclops who are immune to Tri Attack. Keep in mind that a neutral Tri Attack does the same damage as a super effective Dark Pulse, so unless you need to flinch a Pokemon like Celebi, Tri Attack is the best option for the 20% chance to burn, freeze, or paralyze the opponent. Hidden Power Fighting is in the last slot to hit Steel-type Pokemon who would otherwise wall this set. Substitute could also be used over Hidden Power Fighting to block status moves like Thunder Wave. Thanks to Adaptability, Tri Attack can still hit Steel-type Pokemon hard, so Substitute is a viable option.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EV spread maximizes Porygon-Z's Special Attack and Speed. Base 90 Speed is certainly mediocre, but Porygon-Z's defensive stats are so poor, maximizing Speed is its best shot at gaining some survivability. Life Orb is self explanatory, as it adds to Porygon-Z's strength, allowing it to sweep more easily. Adaptability is preferred because of the set's ability to gain Special Attack boosts through Nasty Plot.

Dual screens are very helpful in supporting Porygon-Z, as they allow it to set up for a sweep more easily. Cresselia is a reliable dual screen user and a generally great teammate for Porygon-Z, considering its Fighting-type resistance and ability to slow down foes with Thunder Wave.

[SET]

name: Agility
move 1: Agility
move 2: Tri Attack
move 3: Ice Beam
move 4: Dark Pulse / Hidden Power Fighting
item: Life Orb
ability: Download
nature: Modest
evs: 132 HP / 252 SpA / 128 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Although this set sacrifices the raw power of the Choice Specs set, it can be much more dangerous, with the potential to decimate offensive teams. Considering its sub-par base 90 speed, Porygon-Z really appreciates a speed boost. After an Agility, Porygon-Z outruns every Choice Scarfuser with base 100 Speed, which is extremely useful with Pokemon such as Mew, Celebi, and Shaymin on the prowl. Tri Attack is Porygon-Z's main STAB attack, and can deal out massive damage, especially if you get a Special Attack boost from Download. Ice Beam is there to hit Grass- and Ground-type Pokemon such as Celebi, Shaymin, and Flygon for super effective damage. The last move is a choice between hitting Ghost-types hard and decimating Steel-types, but since Ghost-type Pokemon are more common in UU, Dark Pulse is generally the better choice.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EV spread allows Porygon-Z to outspeed, after a boost, all base 100 Pokemon with maximum Speed and a Choice Scarf, notably Flygon and Celebi. Maximum investment in Special Attack is essential. The leftover EVs are dumped into HP for some extra bulk to ease Porygon-Z's setup. Life Orb is needed on this set for the extra power. Download is better than Adaptability here, since Porygon-Z cannot boost its Special Attack otherwise. The ability to switch attacks makes an overall Special Attack boost very welcome as well.

This set thrives on entry hazards, which allow Porygon-Z to sweep more easily. Deoxys-D is an exceptional teammate, providing entry hazard support and packing a Fighting-type resistance. Again, your team will need a way to deal with Chansey to make this set truly effective. Powerful physical attackers, such as Victini (who possesses a Fighting resistance), Cobalion, and Escavalier thus make excellent teammates.

[OTHER OPTIONS]

Porygon-Z has a wide special movepool, including attacks such as Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, and Shadow Ball. Generally speaking, Porygon-Z has a minimal reliance on its coverage moves due to the sheer power of Tri Attack. Both of Porygon-Z's abilities are viable on each set. Download can be used on the Choice Specs set to give Porygon-Z a Special Attack boost, but you don't always get the boost, and the Adaptability boost to Tri Attack is much more reliable. Likewise, Adaptability could be used on the Agility set to gain a more reliable STAB attack. Return may also be used on the Agility set—you can switch into Chansey, get the Attack boost, and 2HKO it. If you do choose to use Return, make sure you use a Naive nature.

[CHECKS AND COUNTERS]

Chansey is a complete counter to Porygon-Z. It can wall the Choice Specs and Agility sets easily, as well as cripple it with a status move, such as Toxic or Thunder Wave. Spiritomb is also a good check to the Choice Specs and Agility sets, as it can come in on Tri Attack and trap Porygon-Z with Pursuit or beat it with Sucker Punch. Faster Pokemon, such as Shaymin and Celebi, also make excellent checks—as long as Porygon-Z hasn't boosted its Speed—and can severely hurt it with their STAB attacks. Weavile can also outspeed and KO Porygon-Z with Low Kick, thanks to its massive base 120 Attack. Bisharp can dish out massive damage with Sucker Punch, and also walls the Agility set if Porygon-Z doesn't have Hidden Power Fighting, making it a great check.

finally done, im drained from writing shaymin and this analysis in one day -.- (both have 3 sets fml)

Substitute should get a slash on the NP set imo, as an alternative to HP Fighting, since Adaptability effectively ignores the resistance, so a +2 Tri Attack is still going to put a pretty big dent in any Steel-type. Sub obviously blocks status, etc., and also gives more of a reason to run dual screen support.

You're also missing a Checks and Counters section.

I think Trick deserves the first Slash on the Specs set. Chansey is that troublesome. Adaptability Tri Attack coming from specs and 405 Special Attack will still do tremendous damage to Flying-types. I think Thunderbolt should take the place of Ice Beam because it still hits Flying types for Super Effective damage, but also hits Steel-type Pokemon for neutral damage, who can otherwise switch in safely to P-Z. Hidden Power Fighting works too.

Mention Return + Download in other options, because you can switch into Chansey and get an attack boost, which can 2HKO after Stealth Rock damage with Life Orb and no attack investment.

I agree with PK, it's looking good. I'd say Specs and Scarf should be next to each other in the order though. That's just a minor issue...

Ok, we talked about it in QC, and we decided this is the best order of the sets:

Scarf, Specs, Plot, Agility

Please change the order but keep the current content. Thanks :D

[SET COMMENTS]

This set functons very differently from the other sets. Because of Porygon-Z's slow Speed, it isn't generally seen as a viable revenge killer. With Choice Scarf equipped, thoughhowever, Porygon-Z becomes a very effective revenge killer. STAB Tri Attack has a 160 base power thanks to Adaptability, which does tons of damage to anything that doesn't resist it, even without a Special Attack boost. Dark Pulse is there to cover Ghost-type Pokemon who are immune to Tri Attack such as Dusclops. It can also be used against Celebi over Tri Attack since it has a 20% flinch rate which may come in handy. Hidden Power Fighting is in the third slot to hit Steel-type Pokemon like Bisharp and Registeel for super effective damage who resist both Tri Attack and Dark Pulse. Trick is the best option the third set to cripple Chansey, as otherwise Porygon-Z is useless against it. Thunderbolt can be considered over Trick, but a super effective Thunderbolt doesn't do that much more than a neutral Tri Attack does, so it isn't really neccesary.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EV spread maximizeds Porygon-Z's Special Attack and Speed which allows it to outrun Pokemon like Weavile and Jolteon with a Choice Scarf. Adaptability is the best option on this set as it gives Porygon-Z a reliable STAB boost, while Download is unreliable and may stop Porygon-Z from being able to revenge certain threats.

Entry hazards are very good for Porygon-Z since they weaken the opposing Pokemon enough sosuch that Porygon-Z is able to outspeed and KO them. Scolipede is a good teammate because it can set-up Toxic Spikes and Spikes, which wear down the opponent after every switch. Scolipede also resists Fighting-type moves, which is Porygon-Z's only weakness. Because of that weakness, Pokemon who resist Fighting-type moves are very good teammates for it. [SET COMMENTS]

Choice Specs gives Porygon-Z immediate raw power and can tear holes in unprepared teams with its 160 base power attack, Tri Attack. Choice Specs requires some prediction as you aren't able to freely switch moves so you really only get one shot. Tri Attack is Porygon-Z's main STAB attack. 160 base power is nothing to laugh about, as coupled with a base 135 Special Attack it makes Porygon-Z a force to be reckoned with. Dark Pulse compliments Tri Attack nicely as it hits Ghost-type Pokemon such as Dusclops and Cofagrigus who are immune to Tri Attack for super effective damage. Tri Attack and Dark Pulse leave Porygon-Z vulnerable to Steel-type Pokemon, thoughhowever. Because of this, Hidden Power Fighting should be used to hit them for super effective damage. Hidden Power Fighting can hit Bisharp for 4x super effective damage, as well as hitting Empoleon harder than Tri Attack does. Trick should be used in the last moveslot so you can cripple Chansey, who is the most troublesome Pokemon to this set. Thunderbolt could be used over Trick if you want to hit Flying-type Pokemon for super effective damage, but Tri Attack almost does as much damage hitting neutrally.

[ADDITONAL COMMENTS]

The given EV spread maximizes Porygon-Z's Special Attack and Speed which is essential so it can be used to the best of its ability. That is basically the only viable EV spread on Porygon-Z because it's so frail and it needs the extra Speed to be viable. Adaptability is a great Ability for Porygon-Z as it boosts its STAB by 2x instead of 1.5x. This means it gets a 160 base power STAB insteaf of a 120 base power STAB, which is a huge difference.

Since Porygon-Z only has one weakness in Fighting, Pokemon who resist Fighting-type moves are very helpful. Psychic-, Flying-, Bug-, and Ghost-type Pokemon are all the types that resist Fighting. For example, Celebi is a good teammate because it resists Fighting thanks to its Psychic typing. Because Chansey walls this set to hell, Physical attackers that can break through Chansey's defenses are essential. A Pokemon that can beat Chansey easily is MamoswineA good partner to Porygon-Z is Mamoswine for its ability to beat Chansey. Mamoswine is immune to Thunder-Wave so it can switch into Chansey without worry and beat it since the only thing Chansey can do is use Seismic Toss or Toxic.

[SET]

move 3: Dark Pulse
move 4: Hidden Power Fighting / Substitute

[SET COMMENTS]

Nasty Plot allows Porygon-Z to reach a ridiculously high Special Attack stat of 810, which, needless to say, can easily sweep unprepared teams. After just one boost, the only things that can beat this set are Pokemon that outspeed it, and Chansey with Thunder Wave. Coming off 160 base power, STAB Tri Attack will destroy anything in its path after a Nasty Plot boost. Dark Pulse is there to hit Ghost-type Pokemon like Dusclops who are immune to Tri Attack. If Dark Pulse hits for super effective damage, Tri Attack does the same amount of damage so unless you need the flinch on a Pokemon like Celebi, Tri Attack is the best option to use as it has a 20% chance of either burning, freezing, or paralyzing the opponent. Hidden Power Fighting is in the last slot to hit Steel-type Pokemon who would otherwise wall this set. Substitute could also be used over Hidden Power Fighting to block status moves like Thunder Wave. Thanks to Adaptability Tri Attack can still hit Steel-type Pokemon hard, so Substitute is a viable option.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EV spread maximizes Porygon-Z's Special Attack and Speed stats.(<-red) as Porygon-Z needs all of the speed it can get considering it isits relatively slow with base 90 Speed. Life Orb is self explanatory as it just adds to Porygon-Z's strength, allowing it to sweep easier. Adaptability is the preferred nature here since it already has a boosting move, so Download isn't really necessary. The base power boost to STAB Tri Attack is also very useful.

Dual Screens are very helpful in supporting Porygon-Z's sweep as they allow Porygon-Z to set-up easier since it will be able to take hits. Cresselia is a reliable dual screener, and great teammate for Porygon-Z as it can set-up dual screens, cripple the opponents with Thunder Wave, and it even resists Porygon-Z's Fighting-type weakness.

[SET]

name: Agility
move 1: Agility
move 2: Tri Attack
move 3: Ice Beam
move 4: Dark Pulse / Hidden Power Fighting
item: Life Orb

[SET COMMENTS]

Although this set sacrifices the raw power that the Choice Specs set gives, it can be much more dangerous. Agility Porygon-Z can decimate unprepared offensive teams. Porygon-Z really needs the speed because he is outraun by the all important base 100 Speed Tier. +2 Agility can outspeed Choice Scarf Flygon and KO it with Ice Beam. After an Agility, Porygon-Z outruns every scarfed base 100 Speed Pokemon, which is extremely useful with Pokemon like Mew, Celebi, and Shaymin on the prowl. Tri Attack is Porygon-Z's main STAB attack which can deal out massive amounts of damage, especially if you get the Special Attack boost from Download. Ice Beam is there to hit Grass- and Ground-type Pokemon like Celebi, Shaymin, and Flygon for super effective damage, which does more damage than Tri Attack would do. Dark Pulse is there to hit Ghost-type Pokemon like Cofagrigrus and Dusclops super effectively, as well as having a 20% flinch rate, which may be helpful in tight situations. Those moves leave Porygon-Z vulnerable to Steel-type Pokemon, though so Hidden Power Fighting is a viable option to hit those Pokemon. There are more Ghost-type Pokemon in the metagame than there is Steel-types, so Dark Pulse is the recommended option.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EV spread on this set allows Porygon-Z to outspeed all positive natured, maxfully invested, Choice Scarfed Speed Base 100 Pokemon such as Flygon and Celebi. Maximum investment in Special Attack is essential so Porygon-Z can do as much damage as possible, it is especially necessary since this set isn't running a Special Attack boosting move. The leftover EVs are dumped into HP for some extra bulk so Porygon-Z can take some hits so it can set-up Agility easier. Life Orb is needed on this set to get the extra attacking power that it needs to sweep late-game. Download is better than Adaptability for this set because if you do get the Special Attack boost, Tri Attack does more damage than it would with Adaptability. It also doesn't only boost Tri Attack, which means Ice Beam and Dark Pulse also get a boost.

This set thrives on entry hazards. Entry hazards let Porygon-Z sweep easier as the opponents Pokemon will be significantly weakened after every switch. Deoxys-D is a good teammate for this reason as it can set-up Stealth Rock and Spikes, not to mention it resists Fighting-type attacks. Since Porygon-Z is a Normal-type, its only weakness is Fighting. Psychic-, Flying-, Bug-, and Ghost-type Pokemon all resist Fighting. Celebi is a good teammate its Psychic typing allows it to resist Fighting-type attacks directed at Porygon-Z. Because Chansey walls this set to hell, Physical attackers that can break through Chansey's defenses are essential. A Pokemon that can beat Chansey easily is WeavileA good partner to Parygon-Z is Weavile due to its ability to easily defeat Chansey. Weavile does major damage to Chansey with Low Kick thanks to Weavile's base 120 Attack.

[OTHER OPTIONS]

Porygon-Z has a large Special movepool with attacks like Thunderbolt, Psychic, Signal Beam, and Zap Cannon. These moves are very unnecessary, though because Tri Attack is so powerful, so you should only use moves that hit Rock, Ghost, and Steel-type Pokemon that Tri Attack can't. Both of Porygon-Z's abilities are viable on each set. Download can be used on the Choice Specs set to give Porygon-Z a +2 Special Attack boost, but you don't always get the boost and the Tri AttackAdaptability boost to Tri-Attack is much more reliable. Likewise, Adaptability could be used on the Agility set for a more reliable STAB attack, instead of the less reliable Special Attack boost given by Download. Return may also be used on the Agility set since you can switch into Chansey, get the Attack boost, and 2HKO it. If you do choose to use Return, make sure you use a Naive nature so you don't have a nature that lowers your Attack.

[CHECKS AND COUNTERS]

Chansey is a very good Check complete counter to Porygon-Z. It can wall the Choice Specs and Agility sets easily, as well as crippling it with a status move such as Toxic or Thunder Wave. Spiritbomb is also a good check to the Choice Specs and Agility sets as it can come in on a Tri Attack then Pursuit trap it, or use Sucker Punch to beat it. Speed Base 100 Pokemon like Shaymin and Celebi are good checks to all of the sets as long as Porygon-Z doesn't have an Agility up. Shaymin can do a ton of damage with STAB Seed Flare, and Celebi can either use a status move on Porygon-Z, or set-up with Nasty Plot. Weavile can also outspeed, and KO Porygon-Z with Low Kick thanks to its base 120 Attack. Bisharp is a great counter to the agility set if you aren't running Hidden Power Fighting as it resists the whole moveset.

That is basically the only viable EV spread on Porygon-Z because it's so frail and it needs the extra Speed to be viable. Adaptability is a great ability, boosting Porygon-Z's power by making the STAB boost 2x instead of 1.5x. is a great Ability for Porygon-Z as it boosts its STAB by 2x instead of 1.5x This means it gets a 160 base power STAB insteaf of a 120 base power STAB, which is a huge difference.

(I disagree that teammates that resist Fighting are particularly useful. Porygon-Z's defenses are so weak, it doesn't really matter what you attack it with-- so it doesn't really attract Fighting attacks) Because Chansey walls this set to hell, Chansey is the biggest threat to this set, making physical attackers that can break through Chansey's defenses are essential. A good partner to Porygon-Z is Mamoswine for its ability to beat Chansey. Mamoswine is immune to Thunder-Wave so it can switch into Chansey without worry and beat it since the only thing Chansey can do is use Seismic Toss or Toxic.
(I don't really like mentioning Mamoswine because LO Mamoswine fails to 2HKO Chansey... 1 on 1, Chansey has a very good chance of BEATING Mamoswine-- hence why Chansey really should get the ban hammer...)

move 3: Dark Pulse
move 4: Hidden Power Fighting / Substitute
item: Life Orb
ability: Adaptability

[SET COMMENTS]

Nasty Plot allows Porygon-Z to reach a ridiculously high Special Attack stat of 810, which, needless to say, can easily sweep unprepared teams. After just one boost, the only things that can beat this set are is Pokemon that outspeed it, and Chansey with Thunder Wave. Coming off 160 base power, STAB Tri Attack will destroy anything in its path after a Nasty Plot boost. Dark Pulse is there to hit Ghost-type Pokemon like Dusclops who are immune to Tri Attack. If Dark Pulse hits for super effective damage Keep in mind that a neutral Tri Attack does the same damage super effective Dark Pulse, so Tri Attack does the same amount of damage so unless you need the flinch on a Pokemon like Celebi, Tri Attack is the best option to use as it has a for the 20% chance of either burning, freezing, or paralyzing the to burn, freeze, or paralyze the opponent.

The EV spread maximizes Porygon-Z's Special Attack and Speed stats as Porygon-Z needs all of the speed it can get considering its relatively slow base 90 Speed. Base 90 Speed is certainly mediocre, but Porygon-Z's defensive stats are so poor, maximizing Speed is its best shot at gaining some survivability. Life Orb is self explanatory as it just adds to Porygon-Z's strength, allowing it to sweep easier more easily. Adaptability is the preferred nature ability here since it already has a boosting move, so Download isn't really necessary because of the set's ability to gain Special Attack boosts through Nasty Plot. The base power boost to STAB Tri Attack is also very useful.

Dual Screens are very helpful in supporting Porygon-Z's sweep as they allow Porygon-Z to set-up easier set up more easily since it will be able to take hits. Cresselia is a reliable dual screen user, and generally is a great teammate for Porygon-Z as it can set-up dual screens, cripple the opponents with Thunder Wave, and it even resists Porygon-Z's Fighting-type weakness. considering its Fighting-type resistance and ability to slow foes down with Thunder Wave support.

move 3: Ice Beam
move 4: Dark Pulse / Hidden Power Fighting
item: Life Orb
ability: Download
nature: Modest
evs: 132 HP / 252 SpA / 128 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Although this set sacrifices the raw power that the Choice Specs set gives, it can be much more dangerous. Agility Porygon-Z can decimate unprepared offensive teams. Porygon-Z really needs the speed because he is outrun by the all important base 100 Speed Tier Considering its subpar 90 base speed, Porygon really appreciates the boost from Agility. +2 Agility can outspeed Choice Scarf Flygon and KO it with Ice Beam. After an Agility, Porygon-Z outruns every scarfed Choice Scarf base 100 Speed Pokemon, which is extremely useful with Pokemon like Mew, Celebi, and Shaymin on the prowl. Dark Pulse is there to hits Ghost-type Pokemon like Cofagrigrus and Dusclops super effectively for super effective damage, as well as having a 20% flinch rate, which may be helpful in tight situations. Those moves leave Porygon-Z vulnerable to Steel-type Pokemon, though so Hidden Power Fighting is a viable option to hit those Pokemon. Unfortunately, Hidden Power Fighting is needed to cover Steel-types, however there are more Ghost-type Pokemon in the metagame than there is Steel-types, so making Dark Pulse is the recommended option.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EV spread on this set allows Porygon-Z to outspeedall positive natured, fully invested, Choice Scarfed Speed base 100 Speed Pokemon at +1 or holding a Choice Scarf with a positive nature and full EV investment, including such as Flygon and Celebi. Maximum investment in Special Attack is essential so Porygon-Z can do as much damage as possible, it is especially necessary since this set isn't running a Special Attack boosting move. The leftover EVs are dumped into HP for some extra bulk so Porygon-Z can take some hits so it can set-up Agility easier to ease the Agility setup. Life Orb is needed on this set to get the extra attacking power that it needs to sweep late-game. Download is better than Adaptability for this set because if you do get the Special Attack boost, Tri Attack does more damage than it would with Adaptability. The ability to switch attacks makes an overall Special Attack boost very welcome; which is only obtainable on this set through Download. It also doesn't only boost Tri Attack, which means Ice Beam and Dark Pulse also get a boost.

This set thrives on entry hazards. Entry hazards let Porygon-Z sweep easier more easily as the opponent's Pokemon will be significantly weakened after every switch are weakened through simple switching. Deoxys-D is a good teammate for this reason as it can set-up Stealth Rock and Spikes, not to mention it resists Fighting-type attacks. Deoxys-D is an exceptional teammate, providing entry hazards and packing a Fighting-type resistance. A good partner to Parygon-Z is Weavile due to its ability to easily defeat Chansey. Weavile does major damage to Chansey with Low Kick thanks to Weavile's base 120 Attack. Again, your team will need a way to deal with Chansey to make this set truly effective. Powerful physical attackers like Victini (who posses a Fighting resistance), Cobalion and Escavalier make excellent teammates.
(Weavile does not easily defeat Chansey-- no way in hell)

[OTHER OPTIONS]

Porygon-Z has a large Special movepool with attacks like Thunderbolt, Psychic, Signal Beam, and Zap Cannon wide special movepool, including attacks like Thunderbolt, Ice Beam and Shadow Ball. These moves are unnecessary, though because Tri Attack is so powerful, so you should only use moves that hit Rock, Ghost, and Steel-type Pokemon that Tri Attack can't Generally speaking, Porygon-Z has a minimal reliance on its coverage moves due to the sheer power of Tri Attack. Both of Porygon-Z's abilities are viable on each set. Download can be used on the Choice Specs set to give Porygon-Z a +2 Special Attack boost, but you don't always get the boost and the Adaptability boost to Tri-Attack is much more reliable. Likewise, Adaptability could be used on the Agility set for to gain a more reliable STAB attack, instead of the less reliable Special Attack boost given by Download. Return may also be used on the Agility set since you can switch into Chansey, get the Attack boost, and 2HKO it. If you do choose to use Return, make sure you use a Naive nature so you don't have a nature that lowers your Attack.

[CHECKS AND COUNTERS]

Chansey is a complete counter to Porygon-Z. It can wall the Choice Specs and Agility sets easily, as well as cripple ing it with a status move such as Toxic or Thunder Wave. Spiritbomb is also a good check to the Choice Specs and Agility sets as it can come in on a Tri Attack then Pursuit trap it, or use Sucker Punch to beat it. Speed Base Base Speed 100 Pokemon like Shaymin and Celebi are good checks to all of the sets as long as Porygon-Z doesn't have an Agility up.

Sorry that took so long, a shit load of work came up as I was working on this.

Trick is the best option for the third moveslot, being extremely useful for crippling Chansey, who is a major blockade for Porygon-Z as well as the majority of UU's offensive Pokemon.

In the scarf set, trick is listed as the fourth option, but you wrote third here. Minor nitpick. Looks great!

[SET COMMENTS]

Choice Specs gives Porygon-Z immediate raw power and can tear holes in unprepared teams with its Tri Attack. Choice Specs requires some prediction as you aren't able to freely switch moves. Tri Attack is Porygon-Z's main attack, with awesome power from Choice Specs and Adaptability STAB. 160 Base Power should not be underestimated, as coupled with a base 135 base Special Attack stat and Choice Specs, it can be really hard to handle. Dark Pulse compliments Tri Attack nicely as it hits Ghost-type Pokemon such as Dusclops and Cofagrigus who are immune to Tri Attack for super effective damage. Tri Attack and Dark Pulse leave Porygon-Z vulnerable to Steel-type Pokemon, however. Hidden Power Fighting hits all of UU's common Steel-types but Escavalier for super effective damage.Trick should be used in the last moveslot so you can cripple Chansey, who is the most troublesome Pokemon to this set. Thunderbolt could be used over Trick if you want to hit Flying- and Water-type Pokemon for super effective damage, but Tri Attack almost does as much damage when hitting neutrally.

[ADDITONAL COMMENTS]

The given EV spread is basic, simply maximizing Porygon-Z's Special Attack and Speed. Porygon-Z lacks the bulk to make much use of defensive EVs, so unfortunately maximizing its lackluster base 90 Speed is the best one can do for its survivability. Heracross is also a huge threat to Blissey and to the wider UU metagame in general, and unlike many other alternatives, generally welcomes being afflicted with status thanks to Guts. Otherwise, most physical set-up sweepers can deal with Blissey, and offensive Pokemon in general will sweep more easily once Porygon-Z has battered the enemy team.

[OVERVIEW]

Porygon-Z is an often overlooked Pokemon. His Its massive base 135 Special Attack allows it to hit almost anything for tremendous damage if it doesn't resist the attack that doesn't resist its attacks very hard. With Adaptability, STAB Tri Attack reaches an impressive 160 Base Power. Porygon-Z also has a fair amount of versatility, as it can run sets ranging from Choice Specs, Agility, to even Nasty Plot. Its Normal typing does come with downsides, however. Porygon-Z lacks any resistances and an average base 90 Speed keeps it out of the loop in UU usage. Porygon-Z can run a lot of different sets such as Choice Specs, Agility, and even Nasty Plot. Unfortunately, Porygon-Z's poor defensive stats, lack of any resistances, and average base 90 Speed leave it vulnerable to getting revenge killed. Despite these flaws, Porygon-Z's brute force and wonderful movepool surely make it a Pokemon to watch out for.

[SET COMMENTS]

With a Choice Scarf equipped, Porygon-Z becomes a very effective revenge killer. STAB Tri Attack has the equivalent of a 160 Base Power thanks to Adaptability, dealing impressive damage to anything that doesn't resist it. Dark Pulse covers Ghost-type Pokemon like such as Dusclops, which are immune to Tri Attack. It can also be used against Celebi and other Psychic-types over Tri Attack since it has a 20% flinch rate which may come in handy. Hidden Power Fighting is in the third slot to hit the Steel-type Pokemon like Steel-types who resist both Tri Attack and Dark Pulse, such as Bisharp and Registeel, for super effective damage who resist both Tri Attack and Dark Pulse for super effective damage. Trick is the best option for the fourth moveslot, being extremely useful for crippling Chansey, who is a major blockade for Porygon-Z as well as the majority of UU's offensive Pokemon. Thunderbolt can be considered over Trick, but a super effective Thunderbolt is only slightly more powerful than a neutral Tri Attack does, so it isn't really neccesary.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EV spread maximizes Porygon-Z's Special Attack and Speed, which allows it to outrun Pokemon like such as Weavile and Jolteon with a Choice Scarf. Adaptability is the best option on this set as it gives Porygon-Z a reliable boost, while Download is unreliable and may stop Porygon-Z from being able to revenge killing certain threats.

Entry hazards are very good for aid Porygon-Z a lot, weakening the enemy team and allowing Porygon-Z to potentially sweep instead of simply revenge killing opposing threats. Scolipede is a good teammate because it can set up both Toxic Spikes and Spikes, which wear down the opponent after every switch. Scolipede also resists Fighting, which is Porygon-Z's only weakness while also resisting the Fighting-type attacks which Porygon-Z detests. Besides Scolipede, there are numerous good UU Pokemon that possess a resistance to Fighting-type moves. Bulky Psychic-types like such as Celebi and Cresselia are great teammates because they can easily take Fighting-type attacks thanks to the resist their Psychic typing affords with their resistance. Generally speaking though, one shouldn't expect Porygon-Z to really draw in Fighting-type attacks; its defenses are weak enough that for the enemy can to bring it down with pretty much any reasonably strong attack.

I think there should be a set with both agility and nasty plot to be honest. You can boost depending on the situation you're in, or if you're lucky get in both boosts.
