Any yes, he is right NEVER EVER use a Zigzagoon or a Roselia, or Starters, or Fossils ESPECIALLY NOT at Lv1 they are the most common Fodder-Mons for like ever other Public- and Youtube-Giveaway, or in case of Starters/Fossils/Lv 1 Mon People expect them to be rare or having relatively good IVs.
Try to Pokémon that aren't too uncommon but can't be found easily in the beginnings of the Game. A good example is in my opinion Zubat or Tentacool.
I'm sorry I don't know if you really got snped but since it's 6am in the morning here I wasn't motivated to check more than 3 pages ;)
