The ASB Arena: the paradigm of competitive Pokemon battlegrounds. A large, clear moat of water surrounds a dirt-packed floor. The dirt, which is imported straight from the fertile coast of Sinnoh, makes for the perfect terrain -- easy to dig into, but firm enough to provide a strong foothold. Obviously, there's ample space for the Pokemon to maneuver around (after all, we're used to hosting Steelixes here). Open-roof; huge audio system; seats thousands. It's where stories begin and legends are born.
Woohoo, looks like we've got a sold-out crowd today! How exciting! Introducing our contestants: on the left, we have Team PTPlatinum, and on the right is Team Take Azelfie. Let's look forward to an exciting and fun match, everyone!

Type: Ice
Ice - Immune to Hail damage, freeze status, and Sheer Cold. Frost Command.

Sturdy: (Passive) (H, locked) This Pokemon's body is solidly constructed, reducing the Base Attack Power from an opponents incoming attacks by one (1). The effect is amplified on OHKO Moves, which are reduced by ten (10) Base Attack Power.

Mold Breaker: (Passive) Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities. (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, etc.) Attacks are still redirected by Lightningrod/Storm Drain, but damage is dealt normally. Status-immunity abilities such as Limber will remove their relevant status at the start of the victim's next action. For a full list of affected abilities, seehttp://pastebin.com/sMZktgbV.

pssst -- Cobalt here. I was just checking out the stands and boy is it crowded! We always get this kind of turnout with the Little Cup battles because spectators are suckers for small, cute Pokemon. What a bunch of losers! Let's make sure you guys give it your all out there and remind the world that strength doesn't always have to come from the biggest Pokemon, okay?
Oh, and don't tell my trainer I'm here -- I'm supposed to be practicing at home right now.

Round 1
Well, it looks like the battlers are ready! PT sends out Steeljaw the Aron, a bulky Rock/Steel type known for its extraordinary endurance. You'd be surprised what kind of punishment that metal armor can withstand.
On the opposing side, Zelfie responds with Kinnikens the Fennekin. Don't let its cute looks fool you -- as a Fire-type, it commands one of nature's most violent and uncontrollable elements! I can't wait to see what these battlers have in store!

Post-Round

Aron's EN rounds up to 73 EN.
The sandstorm rages on (3 rounds)!
Kinnikens heats things up here in the arena; by using Sunny Day, she focuses the sun's rays and powers up her fire-type attacks. Steeljaw, who's probably sweating from the heat under all that armor, is forced to whip up a sandstorm in return. So much for the Sunny Day -- I can barely even see the sun with all this dust floating around now! Blinking and coughing, Kinnikens struggles to keep her composure in the inhospitable tempest.
Patiently, Steeljaw protects himself from Kinnikens' attacks while the sandstorm wears away at his foe. His strategy proves effective (at least for a while), but as soon as he lets his guard down a tiny bit Kinniken blasts him away with an intense breath of fire! Steeljaw attempts to retaliate with a charging headbutt, although his clumsy delivery gives Kinniken ample time to dodge.

Speaking from the perspective of a Pokemon, I don't think people appreciate how much it sucks to fight in a sandstorm. I mean, when humans have to deal with a little rain they pull out their umbrellas and act like getting their hair wet is soooo miserable. Trust me, fighting in a sandstorm sucks. It's hard to see, you get all this dust in your eyes and all over your fur -- even breathing is difficult because every time you open your mouth you get a throat full of frigging sand. It's painful, it's suffocating, and the worst part: a Pokemon's gotta deal with that on top of getting beat up by whatever opponent changed the stinking weather to begin with. So yeah, mad props to you battlers.

Post-Round

Aron's EN rounds down to 50.
Fennekin's HP rounds down to 33.
The sandstorm rages on (3 rounds)!
Wow, Kinnikens! Back at it again with the Flamethrowers! Erm... memes aside, using the same move twice in a row is pretty hard for a Pokemon to do, especially considering these circumstances. Still, Kinnikens pulls through, making sure to get that extra bit of fire out of her system for good measure. Steeljaw's got a nasty surprise for her this round though: a giant swath of boulders comes rolling down the arena straight towards her! Oh dear, that hurts! Fennekin isn't a species that's very well-suited for dealing with Rock-type attacks, so she takes a bit more damage from the hit than most Pokemon would.
Kinniken's getting awful tired of this sandstorm, and so she decides it's high time to get some sunlight in here. By using Sunny Day she replaces the raging dust with a sunny tropical climate. Aaah, it feels like a vacation in Alola now -- but Steeljaw gets right back on top of things with another Sandstorm. When it's time for Kinnekin to act, she has to jump over the boulders left over from earlier this round, which slow her down a bit but not too much. You know what does mess her up, though? A giant steel- armored head bash to the face! Steeljaw makes full use of his plated shell in that attack; not only does it give the move its massive impact, but it also protects him from any self-harm, so he can be as aggressively reckless as he wants.

Post-Round
The sandstorm rages on (2 rounds)!
Kinnikens seems to be charging a pretty powerful attack -- she's absorbing so much heat from her surroundings that you can feel a chill in the air. She's charging... and charging... and then she releases the attack, igniting the air around her in a savage inferno!! Wow, what a spectacle! The audience goes wild, impressed with her display of power. Of course, nobody seemed to notice that Steeljaw, hidden from view by the whirling sandstorm, stealthily avoided the attack by burrowing underground. Just when he's least expected, he bursts upwards from the terrain, smacking into Kinnikens from below and knocking the breath right out of her! Steeljaw could finish off his helpless opponent right now, but instead he takes the opportunity to prepare a spiky trap for his next opponent. He observes his handiwork, then, satisfied, he finally deals the finishing blow to Kinnikens by throwing a cascade of rocky debris at her.

Pine enters the arena accompanied by a furious flurry of hail that dispels the current sandstorm. Unfortunately, said hailstorm doesn't do anything about the spiky stones littering the stage, which dig into Pine's feet for serious damage. For his first order of business Pine scrapes up some snow off the ground and builds a miniature snow(ver)man. Playfully, Steeljaw smashes into it headfirst, pulverizing it instantly and scattering ice everywhere. Next, Pine uses its leafy fingers to whistle a soothing ballad -- Steeljaw sits back and enjoys the music, although it doesn't seem particularly moved. It's not until Pine's musical performance reaches its dramatic crescendo that the Aron's eyelids start to droop, and he takes a quick, relaxing nap. What a pleasant round!

Pine idly builds another snowman while Steeljaw naps. However, no sooner does Pine finish then Steeljaw wakes up and drops a heap of boulders on it. I guess the fight's on for real now -- Pine hurls a cluster of saplings at Steeljaw which entangle themselves within the seams of his armor then sap away at his health. Next, Steeljaw summons up a whirlwind of dry, dusty air to clear away the hail. Pine responds by drawing even more of Steeljaw's health through a mysterious green energy beam, which I guess tires out the Aron, forcing him to take a break. Eh, didn't he spend a bit of last round chilling as well? He must be getting pretty tired.

"Let's go for two."

Head Smash > Chill > Head Smash
IF you're asleep when you are to act, THEN Chill and restart queue.
IF Snover is behind a substitute, and said substitute has 15.75 HP or less, THEN use Rock Tomb and push back.
EDIT: Edited the wording of the second sub for clarification. Order set did not change.

Hey, Take Azelfie, commands take up an action~ You can't just use the Snow Warning Activation command for free~
Fortunately, since your orders don't make sense as written I guess we'll have to let you edit them.

Post-Round
Aron's HP rounds down to 20.
Aron's EN rounds up to 20.
The sandstorm rages on (2 rounds)!
Pine once again begins to whistle a soothing melody. Steeljaw doesn't care, though, and rams him down with a super-effective Head Smash. The tackle leaves him exhausted, so he's forced to cool down while Pine steals back some of his lost health with a Giga Drain. Finally, Steeljaw attacks again. Although the attack is just as powerful as last time, the health Pine's gained slowly through his life-stealing attacks leaves him barely standing. With only 4 HP left and a sandstorm chipping away, he may only have one chance left to act! He prepares to make the most of it -- his next attack is a double-powered Giga Drain!

But it never happens. The effort from charging the combination is so strenuous that Pine faints before the attack is finished. I guess Steeljaw just took down two opponents each from full health -- a rare occurrence in ASB. Can he make it three?

Generally speaking, Pokemon will tough things out for the sake of their Trainers -- if a Pokemon is too tired to attack it'll perform its move normally and then faint afterwards. However, you've got to keep in mind with Combinations that they're really, really difficult for the Pokemon to perform. Without enough Energy, a Pokemon will overwork themselves and faint from exhaustion way before they even get the chance to attack. Try to keep your Pokemon's limits in mind so they don't end up hurting themselves, okay?
