PYUKUMUKU ANALYSIS //
Okay, this mon isn't amazing at all, but 130/130 bulk plus Unaware and reliable recovery is really good. Except it can't attack anything. So its only way of damaging anything is Toxic, Counter, Hail, or Innards Out. Hail hurts yourself, Innards Out is an option if you can live without unaware, Counter is unreliable but can have huge payouts if it hits, which leaves Toxic as its only way of reliably damaging opponents, which can't hit poison and steel types. Thankfully, Dugtrio traps and removes both of those types. It can also Baton Pass Curse!

POTENTIAL MOVESETS //

The Useless Thing that Never Dies //
SUICIDE CUCUMBER (Pyukumuku) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD
Calm Nature
- Recover
- Toxic
- Soak
- Protect

Description // You send it in, it sits there, it toxics, then it heals up and spam protect. The EVs are meant to give great mixed bulk (It lives a Crit LO STAB Draco Meteor from a Kingdra and Shadow Ball from Aegislash, among other things) in the hopes that it can actually do something. It can also PP Stall choiced things!

Curse Pass //
Pyukumuku @ Leftovers
Ability: Innards Out
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD
Calm Nature
- Curse
- Baton Pass
- Recover
- Safeguard

Description // Pyukumuku's great bulk and abysmal speed means that it can boost itself with Curse Freely and pass it on to something useful. Baton Pass is here to, well, pass it, and Psych Up and Safeguard are unique options to grab extra boosts and prevents toxic/twave. Broken.

PERSONAL THOUGHTS //
I love Pyukumuku. It's not amazing, but it's fun for trolls.

Soak should probably run on the Unaware set becuase, eh, you might as well, Toxic is your only way of dealing any damage outside of Counter.

I don't think this this is necessarily terrible, it's actually bulkier than Quagsire, and unlike it, beats Manaphy as long as it doesn't run Rain Dance. Not having scald really, really hurts though. Could've actually been good but GF decided to treat it like a joke. Oh well.

The "best" set imo will be Curse, Recover, Baton Pass, Toxic with Unaware, and max HP and Special Defense. Pray they don't have a Taunt user and try to bring in something that can close out the game. Innards Out is a wash on it cause of its bad HP and good Defenses.

As always this is a classic case of GameFreak ruining everything. If it had at least one utility attack like Scald or Knock Off, it could make a niche alternative to Quagsire, but this thing is just passive and bad.

This is my favorite set for this thing.

Pyukumuku @ Leftovers / Mental Herb / Sitrus Berry
Ability: Innards Out
EVs: 252 HP / depends on team
- Recover
- Baton Pass
- Pain Split
- Counter / Taunt / Toxic

Pretty often you'll take a big hit, be left at like 10% or some shit, and Innards Out doesn't do jack. With Pain Split, you will always KO something so long as you are KOed the next turn, and the opposing pokemon doesn't have more passive healing than you. It can actually be pretty hard to prevent this thing from getting at least a 1:1 trade

It'd be nice if this thing had like, 15 more base HP. Why does it get 60 base attack?

I'm with the Soak team. Soak / Toxic / Recover / Filler (likely Protect) just feels best. Safeguard works too, and so would Purify if it can Refresh its own status conditions.

Basically you're in it to play super passive. Could run Gastro Acid to fuck over Guts switch-ins.

Pyukumuku @ Poisonium Z
- Purify
- Baton Pass
- Recover
- Taunt / Safeguard / screens

Z-Purify gives +1 in all stats, plus that speed pretty much guarantees that you'll go last using Baton Pass even at +1 and you can get the receiver in unscathed. You can run Taunt for phazers or pass Safeguard/one of the screens on top of this. If you can spare your Z-Crystal, this is definitely better than passing Curse.

Unless BP Clause was changed or removed this is illegal.

This pokemon is a lot better than I thought it would be but its still not vrry good. Inaards out is by far the best ability while unaware works for toxic stalling. It can get really annoying spamming recover and Pain Split. It could potentially run a gimmicky curse+recover+counter+baton Pass+fightingium Z to OHKO some steel types at +6 then BP to something that can sweep.

Gonna go ahead and copy+paste+edit what I posted in the pre-release thread for Pyukumuku

Pyukumuku@Jaboca Berry
Ability: Innards Out
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Sp. Def / 4 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Def
Gentle (+Sp. Def -Def)
Toxic
Recover
Substitute/Light Screen/Safeguard/Taunt/Soak
Baton Pass/Light Screen

Pyukumuku@Rowap Berry
Ability: Innards Out
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Sp. Def
Lax (+Def -Sp. Def)
Toxic
Recover
Substitute/Reflect/Safeguard/Taunt/Soak
Baton Pass/Reflect

Two sets that work the same way. A generalist support against physical/special damage and a suicide switch-in against set up sweepers of the other variety. The berries let them Innards-out KO pokemon up to 109 base HP, uninvested.

Generally, not a good pair of sets, since they need to stay healthy to do their job, which eats up tons and tons of momentum, but it's the best set at being a switch-in sacrifice.

Pyukumuku@Custap Berry
Ability: Innards Out
EVs: 252 HP / Customizable defenses for specific threats
IVs: 0 Atk / Customizable defenses for specific threats
Bold/Calm/Lax/Gentle/Hasty/Naive
Toxic
Recover
Taunt/Protect/Light Screen/Reflect/Counter/Soak
Pain Split

Works much the same way as the above, but doesn't waste tons of momentum recovering in order to maintain its function. You can actually have it take damage while still maintaining its ability to Innards-Out suicide kill, granted you juggle its health properly to trigger the Custap Berry. You can only suicide-switch in against things with base 86 HP uninvested, but you can also switch it in, have it tank the first hit, then priority pain split to trick things into killing it. Recover lets you bring it in against something that would do >50% but <75% damage and let them whittle you down to the Custap margin, but it can't switch into that, and you need to be careful because they might fail to OHKO you post-Pain Split, wherein the jig would be up. Taunt prevents it from being set-up fodder for spike setters or >86 base uninvested sweepers immune to Toxic, as well as letting you taunt on a switch, preventing Pyukumuku from being countered by something it would have otherwise get taunted or poisoned by. Toxic is mandatory for being the only thing it can threaten people with. Protect lets it Toxic-stall switch-ins that do a little bit >50% health, (For when you bring it in against things that do <50% of its health, letting it otherwise recover-stall them to death.) though you might lose out on some momentum if you can't predict a switch, or have to switch out yourself to preserve the Custap Berry. (Or inevitably get taunted) Soak lets you poison Steel and Poison types, and Counter is an option to retaliate, netting unexpected KOs and helping you Toxic stall. If none of the above appeal to you, either screen could help your team.

If you're lazy (cough like me cough) and can't be bothered to pick out specific defensive thresholds, Calm 252/188/64 or Bold 252/64/188 gives it maximized mixed defenses, letting it tank more hits and spread more poison before suiciding.

Also, Custap Berry is absolutely necessary for Pain Split. Leftovers/Black Sludge is everywhere and the trap that is Pyukumuku is too obvious if it's not surprise priority.

Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / Nyeh
IVs: 0 Atk
Impish/Careful
Swagger
Recover
Psych Up
Baton Pass

SWAGGER UNBANNED LEL

Bring it in against whatever you please, Swagger to give them stat boosts and confuse them, Psych Up to steal those stat boosts, (along with whatever they may have had already) then baton pass away to something that can decimate their confusion-addled sweeper. Unaware keeps Pyukumuku safe from the boosts the whole time.

Pyukumuku@Poisonium-Z
Ability: Unaware/Innards Out
EVs: 252 HP/ ~
IVs: 0 Atk
Impish/Careful
Toxic
Purify
Recover
Baton Pass

Has its uses, depending on your team's ability to abuse +1 to all stats, though its usefulness severely drops after it passes Purify away once. An Unaware set aims to reuse it as an inferior version of the Quagsire set, while an Innards Out set would aim to have it do as much damage as possible before going down.

I'm surprised more people are not talking about this fella. He seems like a really good pivot... especially when you want this guy to die and more often than not instantly kill more squishy and higher damage sweepers. You can use Pyu alongside a greedy water type who wouldn't normally be able to take an Ele or Grass type attack. And if he is put up against something he can tank... then you toxic and painsplit to victory.

Pyukumuku @ Rocky Helmet / Leftovers / Mental Herb
Ability: Innards Out
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Def
Sassy Nature
- Reflect
- Pain Split
- Toxic
- Protect

Taunt + Counter allow you to Counter zygarde and others setupers that use substitute to avoid status, but soak is generally better.

Pyukumuku @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature

- Soak/taunt
This is what I run btw, I think This shit is going to have a niche in stall teams, its bulkier than quagsire and tokapex lol

Wouldn't it be a good idea to run a 252 HP with 0 EVs AND IVs in both of the defenses so you can maximize the damage dealt with it's ability? After all the defenses are going to reduce the damage taken, and a 2HKO will deal considerably less damage.

Of course running it strictly as a bomb may be a waste of a slot. How much HP (both the specific number and uninvested base stat equivalent) can it have when fully invested? It may be able to ruin a fragile sweeper's day, particularly if you use priority in the event that it survives.

314, enough to kill base 86s as long as they're uninvested. Jaboca and Rowap berries let you kick those up to 106, but imo if you want Innards out suicides, you might as well run it as bulky as you can and use Custap Pain Split.

Forgot Soak, slashed it onto the sets above. Considering how reliant it is on Toxic, it's a pretty good move to use, especially on the Quagsire set.

Cucumber screen passer!

Pyukumuku @ Light Clay
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 128 Def / 132 SpD or whatever even the EVs to have same same defenses
Careful/Calm Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen

- Baton Pass / Taunt

Screens + slow Baton Pass OR Screens + Setup only in this side

This pokémon is beautiful. Badass taunter cucumber.

Work!
This Poke is very underrated.

Innards Out forces a lot of switches because no one wants to die attacking it. It also makes for a solid answer to setup sweepers (Gyara, Pinsir, Buzzwole, etc) as they will need to take themselves out if they wish to continue the sweep. The alternative is that they switch out and forfeit their boosts, as well as losing any momentum. In this sense, it isn't setup bait either as they do have to attack at some point. The only setup sweeper my Pyuku has struggled with is bulky Scizor who has more HP than Pyuku.

The Soak set is the best IMO because it forces more switchins. Toxic is the only way it deals damage so people will switch in their Ferro/Tran/Pex to wall it, only to be met with a Soak. All three detest Toxic so they're forced into a situation where they can stay in and try to wall, or switch out fearing Toxic.

Baton Pass is a must on this Poke because of all the switches it causes for the above reasons. It's functionally U-Turn/Volt Switch and keeps the momentum in your hands.

Criminally underrated Mon. Highly recommended.

The Toxic Cucumber That Never Dies
Pyukumuku @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 128 Def / 132 SpD
Bold Nature
- Soak
- Toxic
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

This thing never dies (hi Taunt). It eats status for breakfast while toxic-ing everything that come on it no matter the typing. Setup sweepers without Taunt or Substitute will hate it so much.
