hey guys this is my first analisys ill try and do my best please tell me if i get anything wrong or what not.---Hitmonlee[Overview] For many a generation Hitmonlee has wallowed in the depths of NU, but no more! As with the introduction of a new ability from the dream world in Unburden Hitmolee becomes a competent physical sweeper. With access to one of the most powerful offensive typing’s in the game being fighting and a whopping 450 base power move (after accounting for stab and liechi berry) that comes with hitmonlees good and now doubled speed there becomes few Pokémon of whom Hitmonlee cannot sweep with ease, to put that into perspective for you Hitmonlee is now capable of OHKO a Forretress with a helping nature. Which is amazing and considering that there are few walls that are not steel or rock types out there Hitmonlees typing becomes ever more usefull.
[SET]name: Reversalmove 1: Reversalmove 2: Enduremove 3: High-Jump-Kickmove 4: Bulk Up/Fake out/Covetitem: Liechi Berrynature: AdamantEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def[SET COMMENTS]With access to an amazing ability in the form of unburden mixed with the chance access of both reversal and endure Hitmonlee becomes completely capable of sweeping entire teams with the right entry hazard support. After the first move in which situational Hitmonlee will either use bulk up or endure before unleashing hell in the form of 1 or two attack stat boosts on a STAB 200 base power move and you generally have to worry about opponents with priority as with 1hp this will leave hitmonlee at a large disadvantage
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]The EV spread is done in a way so as to give maximum Attack while hopefully allowing it to survive a single attack and pull off with an extra Bulk up or Hi-Jump-Kick to help even out the odds a bit or if you don’t like your chances of getting. This moveset is determined only through the speed of Reversal and Endure as well as the scraps that are left over on Hitmonlees movepool.
[Other Options]Sadly there aren’t many as Hitmonlee has a pitiful movepool that comprises of near only fighting type moves that allow for very little coverage however risky as it may be it is still possible to run a Reckless set that abuses Hi-Jump-Kick to the maximum but this is both dangerous due to the prevalence of protect, the moves low accuracy and the fact that it is severely outclassed bye other Pokémon Notibly Meinshao
[Checks and Counters]Hitmonlees Biggest shortcoming is in the form of status affects and bulky setup Pokémon most notably curse users such Curse ferrorthorn under the right circumstances. Sadly Hitmonlee suffers from a small -even if good- movepool which has few moves that allow for coverage outside of fighting moves, this will in many situations bring about his defeat .such Pokémon as Cresselia who will generally switch in and out resisting his moves, before using Hitmonlees Momentum against him and setting up dual screens however generally ,this is uncommon as cresselia comes from NU and that is unlikely to change anytime soon.
