[REFFING 101]2 people idrk well fite(Well, I do know VV.)(VV vs Nightbltz 4v4 Doubles)

Today, 3 days before my birthday, I will be reffing a 4v4 Doubles battle where, VirajVora and nightblitz42 fight! An awesome ASB mod, Frosty, will be supervising this battle.

All the rules will be standard.

Before I ramble, on VV's side...

Froakie[Male]
Types: Water

Water - Water STAB; Ignores arena restrictions on Water attacks that require an external water source. Evasive Diving reduced from 6 per action Energy Cost to 5 per action.

Abilities::
Torrent/Protean (Hidden Ability Locked)

Torrent (Passive) - When this Pokemon's HP is lower than 33%, the Base Attack Power of any water attack is increased by two (2). (eg Water Pulse goes from 6 to 8, Hydro Pump from 11 to 13)

Protean (Toggle) - By default, this Pokemon switches their type before striking with each damaging attack to match the attack they are about to use, and keep that type until another damaging move is used. The energy cost for the attack is calculated based on their type before using the move. When toggled, the Pokemon reverts back to their natural typing. Pokemon that also have Color Change ability may select whether to keep their current type or the damaging attack's type each action.

Gastly[Male]
Types: Ghost/Posion

Ghost - Ghost STAB; immune to the effects of full trapping moves and the Arena Trap, Magnet Pull, and Shadow Tag abilities. Ghost types can switch out while affected by a partial trapping move, but they will be damaged every action by their effect.

Poison - Poison STAB; immunity to Poison/Toxic status. Absorb Toxic Spikes on switch-in unless Flying-typed or using the ability Levitate. -- Accuracy when using Toxic, Poison Gas, or Poison Powder, hitting even during Dig, Fly, etc. Ignore Fog's accuracy reduction. Store Command.

Store Command: For the next six (6) actions, this Pokemon's moves will have their poison / toxic effect chance double.
Command Type: Type Exclusive | Accuracy: -- | Energy Cost: 5 | Priority: 0 | CT: None

Abilities::
Levitate

Levitate (Passive) - This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power will have three (3) less Base Attack Power. Dig and Dive can strike a Levitating Pokemon if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-type. Otherwise Dig and Dive will miss. Ground moves can still hit.

Zoroark[Male]
Types: Dark

Dark - Dark STAB; ignores Attract and Confusion status entirely when using Dark-type damaging and non-damaging attacks.

Abilities::
Illusion

Illusion (Passive) - Whenever you send this Pokemon out, it can feign the appearance of another member on your squad. If this Pokemon is damaged by a direct attack, the Illusion will cease at the end of the round. Direct damage is any attack that does damage to the Pokemon's HP. Attacks that are evaded, blocked via Protect, or damage a Substitute are not considered direct damage. It will retain the typing and moveset of the Pokemon with Illusion. [Usage Note: PM the ref if you are sending out a Pokemon with Illusion with the info on said Pokemon and one of your squad members in a Switch=KO battle. You must use that squad member later in the battle though.]

Smeargle[Male]
Types: Normal

Normal - Normal STAB; +1 BAP on attacks that match dominant arena type after 3 actions. Unable to have Thrash or Outrage disrupted by oncoming damage.

Abilities::
Own Tempo/Technician/Moody (Hidden Ability Unlocked)

Own Tempo (Passive) - This Pokemon moves at its own pace and when confused, it will never harm itself in confusion. If the Pokemon also has Tangled Feet, it will raise Accuracy by one (1) Stage.

Technician (Passive) - This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their one-hit or two-hit attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power on each hit multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, Double Hit to from 4 per hit to 6 per hit etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack that has its BAP increased by Technician is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects. Technician only applies to combos in the rare case that an initial hit will have 6 or less BAP.

Moody (Passive) - This Pokemon's feelings are always fluctuating, and its mood at any given time greatly influences how it can act from one round to the next. In addition to its general nature, this Pokemon displays a burst of emotional power each round that shares characteristics with other natures, affecting the Pokemon's Ranks directly. At the end of each round the Pokemon changes its Moody nature (roll out of 25 R1 and out of 24 in subsequent rounds), a nature that has the regular drawbacks of a nature but enhances that nature's strengths. Please refer to the Natures Section for Moody Natures.

OK, with Illusion in both of the players mind, both of them will have to be really careful with the mindgames.
A1

Ekans intimidates Gastly and Smeargle!

Gastly used Focus Blast on Skitty!

Hit 6362 yes
Eff 3600 no

Smeargle goes underground!

Skitty uses Echoed Voice on Smeargle!
It fails!
-2 EN

Ekans uses Toxic on Smeargle!
It failed!
-6 EN

Smeargle pops back up and attacks Ekans!
((10 - 4.5) * 1.5) + (-1 - 0 * 2 ) = 6.25
Crit 9328 no
-10 EN

A2

Gastly uses Extrasensory on Ekans!
((8 + 3 + 7.5 - 3) * 1.5) = 23.25
Crit 3738 no
Eff 6909 no

Smeargle used Stealth Rocks! Very Smogon of the Smeargle.
-12 EN

Ekans uses Venoshock on Smeargle!
((7 + 3 + 3 - 3) * 1) = 10
Crit 9299 no
-7 EN

Skitty used Assist!
It used..Hypnosis!
By the powers of RNG, it hits...Gastly!
Hit 1974 yes
-9 EN
It ends up in a Light Sleep.

A3

Gastly is asleep.

Smeargle uses Sketch on Skitty!
Smeargle sketched up Assist!
-6 EN

Ekans uses Bite on Gastly!
((6 + 3 - 1.5) * 0.6666666666666666) = 5
Crit 8828 no

-4 EN

...Surprise surprise! Gastly has been revealed to be Zoroark!

Smeargle has his Moody nature be...Calm!

Welp, now we have our first Illusion shenanigan with Gastly being Zoroark. I can see there being many more. Also, Stealth Rocks are now in play, so Pokemon will get damaged when they are sent out.

Sorry, I didn't notice the judging had been edited.

Ekans: Poison Fang (Smeargle) ~ Crunch (Smeargle) ~ Poison Fang (Smeargle)
IF Smeargle uses Fly or Dig, THEN use Sucker Punch (Smeargle), do not perform consecutively.

Skitty: Echoed Voice (Zoroark) ~ Echoed Voice (Zoroark) ~ Echoed Voice (Zoroark)
ONCE, IF Smeargle uses a damaging Fighting-Type move, THEN use Fake Out.

Manazran , It seems that now I am doing work of Frosty :(

You are still missing Normalize on Echoed Voice in Round 1...
And now, Moody affects Ranks and not Stats... So Dig and Bounce will do different damage in R2A1 and R2A2...

Fix them for now :(
Am sorry for pointing out all stuff, but since this is your 101 I can't leave even a small error...

Also, fuck you Frosty

Manazran you were supposed to PM me the reffing before posting. See mentoring thread:

A Tutor Ref will take on an Apprentice Ref (or slightly more if you can handle it) and watch over as he or she refs a battle at the Battle Tower. The Apprentice Ref will pick a battle within his limitations, inform his tutor by PM and start reffing. They will PM the Tutor Ref his or her update of the match before each round begins. The Tutor Ref will look over for errors or mistakes (and flavor if the apprentice asks for that) and send a PM right back at the Apprentice Ref, who will correct them if necessary and then post the update. This will repeat until the match is over.
Since you didn't, I assumed you gave up on the tutoring.

*sigh* if you guys want thsi to be resumed, I can work on it. If not:

Well, that was disappointing. At least I learned a bit about how to format certain attacks I guess? I made some pretty big mistakes throughout this match...

Anyways, thanks for the match, everyone.
