Atlas
Grotle [Male]

Atlas was a Pokemon living in a wildlife preserve in Sinnoh at the time when Jordan's mom was a Pokemon trainer. He took a liking to her when she came by, recognizing the determination and strength of character of the woman, so he snuck out of the park at night and followed her around. It didn't take long for her to realize someone was following her, as all her berries and poffins mysteriously disappeared. Every attempt to make Turtwig enter a Pokeball failed, as he wanted to be always by her side. Because of his will to always help people and carry his trainer's burden, Jordan' mom named him Atlas. The pokemon has been an invaluable partner for all her career. When she settled down and founded a family, Atlas decided to stay and help with all he could, even though he missed the life full of adventures he once had lived.

Though it was not over for him, a one day Jordan, who, since the day he was born had been bet friends with the Pokemon who acted as his caretaker, decided to take off and follow his mother's steps, despite not having any Pokemon of his own. Once again, Atlas escaped from the house and hid in Jordan's backpack, worrying his mom to death because she could not find him.

Atlas is now determined to help Jordan in his travels, and roams the lands with him in hope that together they can become a marvelous battling duo, though the berries Jordan carries would be more than enough to keep Atlas going!

Characteristic and Fun facts:
Likes helping more than everything (besides food), has a bit of a chivalric streak at times, hates spiders that lodge on his shell.
He became rivals with Ooraloo 's Metang, Planck, after said Pokemon failed to flinch Grotle after multiple Iron Heads and Atlas won the duel with 1 hp remaining.

Type: Grass

Overgrow (Passive):
When this Pokemon's HP is lower than 33% (33 HP), the Base Attack Power of any grass attack is increased by two (2).

Kirlia [Female]

Type:
Psychic/Fairy

Abilities:
Synchronize(Passive):
Pokemon with this ability mentally link their condition to an opposing Pokemon and when inflicted by the major status ailments Burn, Poison, or Paralysis, will share their status condition with the opponent. Pokemon will not be inflicted by status conditions to which they are immune by virtue of typing, ability, etc.

Trace(Trigger):
When entering into battle, this Pokemon can copy an ability on one of its opponents for 6 EN. This effect only triggers if the ability to be copied is specified when the Pokemon is sent out. When facing a pokemon with Trace, the Player sending out last must send out the pokemon without orders, in order to give the opponent the opportunity to trigger trace and any orders eventually given will be ignored until given the opportunity for trace to be triggered. The ability remains on the Pokemon for six (6) actions. Wonder Guard cannot be Traced.

Command: Activate Trace (target ability) - 5 En - Replace Trace with the target Ability for six (6) actions. When the copied ability fades, the user regains Trace.

Telepathy(H)(Passive)(Locked):
This Pokemon has a mental link with its allies in multiple battles, which allows it to avoid taking damage from allied attacks that damage each foe or the entire field like Blizzard and Earthquake. They are still affected by an opponents spread damage attacks.

Abilities:
Compoundeyes(Passive):
This Pokemon's complex eyes give it a comprehensive view of the field, making its attack 30% (x1.3) more accurate.

Shed Skin(Passive):
This Pokemon regularly sheds its skin and any impurities contained in its body. If afflicted with a status condition, this Pokemon has a 33% chance of removing all status conditions at the end of a round.

Illusion(H)(Passive)(Unlocked):
Whenever you send this Pokemon out, it can feign the appearance of another member on your squad. If this Pokemon is damaged by a direct attack, the Illusion will cease at the end of the round. Direct damage is any attack that does damage to the Pokemon's HP. Attacks that are evaded, blocked via Protect, or damage a Substitute are not considered direct damage. It will retain the typing and moveset of the Pokemon with Illusion. [Usage Note: PM the ref if you are sending out a Pokemon with Illusion with the info on said Pokemon and one of your squad members in a Switch=KO battle. You must use that squad member later in the battle though.]

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the ASB Arena! Today, we're bringing you a different kind of match-- a Double Battle! Here are our contestants:
Toon, and his tailored trio of Buneary, Bunnelby, and Munna!
TorterraX, and his tough team of Grotle, Kirlia, and Argalis!
Although it certainly doesn't help with the alliteration theme (should have been Triples imo), the Doubles format should bring lots of action to look forward to! Stay tuned, as the battle will start in a few minutes!

Sounds like an unproductive fishing trip
Buneary Return (Kirlia) -> Return (Kirlia) -> Return (Kirlia)
IF Kirlia is KO'd THEN Fake Out (Grotle)
IF You have less HP than Kirlia THEN Frustration (Kirlia)
IF Return is disabled when you are to use it THEN Double Kick (Kirlia)

Very unproductive
Bunnelby Iron Head (Kirlia) -> Iron Head (Kirlia) -> Iron Head (Kirlia)
IF Kirlia is KO'd THEN U-Turn (Grotle)
IF Kirlia is under the Effects of P/E THEN Rock Slide
IF Iron Head is disabled when you are to use it THEN Rock Slide

Just as an announcement, Ooraloo (my tutor) is on LoA and will return on Saturday. My reffing is currently waiting for approval after several changes, so you shouldn't have to wait much longer (if at all) after that.

Thanks for waiting, and sorry for not explaining the situation earlier.

And off they go! Toon's bunny squad is really getting damage on TorterraX's unfortunate Kirlia, even making it lose its focus and flinch! Meanwhile, Atlas prepares a psychic attack (wait, what?), causing Ruby's most powerful move to be sealed.

The Buneary looks almost as confused as I am, and it attacks Genesis frantically with two kicking attacks, which the Psychic-type manages to more-or-less block. Max is still attacking as hard as ever, though, and its headbutts could even be described as metallic! Genesis, who's able to handle the barrage pretty well, prepares a spectacular Dazzling Gleam attack, dealing good damage to both its foes, and Atlas charges up a huge blast! Ruby tries to dodge to the left, but the blast curves to the left as well, knocking her off her feet!

Although that blow definitely hurt, Ruby's right back on her feet again, striking through Genesis's guard with another Double Kick! What amazing fighting spirit! Max strikes again with Iron Head, but his target, Genesis, doesn't seem to be retaliating. Suddenly, Ruby is struck by a Psyshock attack out of nowhere! Atlas goes for another Focus Blast, but the uncontrollable nature of the attack causes it to slam into the ground, throwing up some debris. Chingling, could you please clean that up before the next round?

CHINGLING THE SUPREME DOES NOT OBEY A HUMAN'S COMMANDS.

*sigh* Look, we talked about this, right? You said "I DO NOT LISTEN TO MORTALS" and I said "Yes you do". Now get to work.

*ring* *ring* *ring-a-ding*

NOT THAT! ANYTHING BUT THAT! ...Fine, I'll just leave it like this... Anyway, that was quite a tussle between the two teams. TorterraX's telepathic (once he unlocks its HA) team member looks tired, but Toon's Buneary isn't exactly in tip-top shape either. The tally of trumped Pokémon remains untouched, but next round that may change!

And there they go again! Ruby creates a shimmering barrier around herself, blocking the attempts of her opponents to attack her. Max hits Genesis with the fourth Iron Head in a row: though it hits as hard as always, the Bunnelby seems to be getting dizzy too. Genesis opts to focus her mind, improving the power of future attacks. Atlas somehow lets loose a high-pitched screech, but the Buneary is able to block it.

As Ruby's barrier fades, she takes a stance, and a red glow forms around her. Meanwhile, Max shakes aside exhaustion and strikes the Psychic-type once more! He's breathing pretty heavily after the attack, but his mission is complete: Genesis has been defeated! The Grotle screeches again, and Ruby is struck by the sound move so hard, she falls over... but the red glow intensifies, preventing her from losing consciousness.

Ruby and Max use a coordinated Return + Frustration combo, attacking the Grass-type at the same time... wait... what happened? Their attacks went right through the Grotle, hitting the Argalis inside! It seems that Prometheus was the one using these arcane moves all along! Yet another Bug Buzz attack from the Bug-type slams into the Buneary, but the red glow, again, keeps it in the battle.

Toon has taken out one of TorterraX's team members, but his tiny rabbit Pokémon has pretty much fainted as well! What types of trickery will we see next round?

When the four Pokémon begin fighting again, the first thing we notice is that the red glow around Ruby is no longer there, and she looks extremely tired. Not to be defeated, however, she suddenly leaps forth with a powerful surprise attack; however, her efforts are blocked by a barrier created by her two opponents. The attack doesn't go to waste, though: It gives Max the time he needs to catch his breath.

Toon's pink bunny Pokémon folds back its ears in preparation for an attack. As soon as the barrier dissipates, it strikes, hitting Prometheus for good damage. Max joins in by using Rock Slide against TorterraX's Pokémon, chipping away at both of them. Suddenly, a telltale blue orb forms in front of Prometheus. She's preparing another Focus Blast! Right off the bat, you can tell that it's completely out of control, but the Argalis manages to drive it back into the Bunnelby's body in an incredible display of mental power. Atlas, TorterraX's signature Pokémon, prepares a Razor Leaf attack by shooting sharp shrubbery out of the bushes on his back. Neither of his opponents can dodge it, and when the leaves stop coming, Ruby has been knocked out.

Even after a brief rest, Max is still breathing very heavily, and it decides to take another short breather. Prometheus, however, voices her disapproval with a devastating Bug Buzz. The poor Normal-type looks to be more vulnerable to the attack because of his long ears. And the barrage of attacks still continues-- Atlas spits out what look at first like innocuous seeds, but turn out to be small (but potent) explosives! Max can't withstand much more of this punishment.

Will Toon's third team member turn things around? Is TorterraX planning to protect his weakened Argalis or try a total offensive? Find out next round!

You can tell that the battle is almost over-- all the Pokémon on the field besides the newly sent out Nyx are very tired and wounded. Nevertheless, they still look like they can give it their all! Max starts out by hopping around and digging tunnels at a rate almost too fast for the eye to follow, but his opponents decide to attack Nyx instead. Prometheus's Bug Buzz attack has a surprisingly large effect on the Munna, despite her lack of ears, as Atlas charges forward for a more physical approach. The Psychic-type recoils in pain as the Grotle bites into her soft body, but she retains her concentration, surrounding Atlas with psychic materials and bombarding him; however, it's going to take more than that to bring down the Grass-type.

All of a sudden, Max leaps out of a tunnel right next to Atlas, striking him with a tremendous amount of power! The Grotle is pushed backwards by the immense force behind the blow, but his Normal-type opponent is too exhausted to deliver a follow-up strike. Meanwhile, another erratic blue sphere begins to zigzag in Max's general direction before suddenly rushing straight toward him! Prometheus's Focus Blast slams into him, sending him hurtling through the air before finally coming down to the ground, unconscious. What a valiant effort by this Bunnelby-- it used every bit of strength it had in this battle! Nyx, Toon's final Pokémon, continues to struggle against Atlas, dealing some damage with another Psyshock, as the Grotle retaliates with a Seed Bomb.

TorterraX's Argalis, in all her glory, shatters the last of the audience's eardrums with one final Bug Buzz attack before finally collapsing from exhaustion. Such an impressive amount of damage was dealt by Prometheus in this battle; I think it was more than any other Pokémon here! This time, the combined attacks of Prometheus and Atlas break the Munna's concentration, weakening her third strike slightly. It still causes the Grotle to flinch for a second, though, showing the noticeable power of the attack. Atlas, breathing heavily, suddenly creates a glowing green aura around his sturdy body, powering up his Grass-type moves.

After such a terrific tussle, it seems that this tangle has almost touched its terminus. Will TorterraX's turtle land the last blow, or does Toon's tapir have one final trick?
