ASB Arena

ASB Arena was always a large stage holding small fights. Built to maximize spectator seating, the arena is quite a bit larger than is necessary for most battles. Often, even when showcasing multiple matches simultaneously, the venues' faculty has had difficulty making full use of their field space.

That's not going to be the case today, however.

As part of the referee advancement course, the full arena is going to be used for an earthshaking 7v7 Triples match between ASB great and noted personality Birkal, and myself. I do hope all of our spectators are watching closely, because both teams pack loads of offense and little concern for flaunting. The match could go either way in the blink of an eye!

The stats are packed, and the pressure's on to put on a good showing! Not wanting to take any chances, I elected to lead bulky and lead safe! I need to gain favorable ground so I can execute a save set of first orders following this opening round.

Birkal brings forth a team packing powerful spread STAB moves, clearly looking to erode the entirety of his opposition as quickly as he can! But what's this? He issues a fully bizarre and unintelligible set of orders to his Pokemon, who seem bemused as to what to do! They each react differently, displaying their personality. Bzzt spins around haphazardly, looking to do damage wherever he can manage it--even among his own team! Fabio hunkers down, beset upon by attacks from four sides! The poor luminous ovid clearly suffers from lack of direction. Audacious hesitates, despite her name, and then goes on the offensive. Seemingly, she knows what the usual order would be in this situation.

For the most part, my team kicks up rocks, durdles, and doesn't do much of anything beyond stall. I have Pumyra chip away at the opposition as best she can in preparation for the coming set of orders I have planned. Hopefully, I can maintain some semblance of momentum! I have to admit, the haphazard nature of my opponent has me on my toes...
