[OVERVIEW]
  • Regirock has a solid defensive typing giving it key resistances to Fire, Flying, and Normal.
  • Can run Sunny Day sets to support sun teams
  • Extremely bulky allowing it to take a multitude of neutral and even some super effective hits
  • It's Rock-typing is a blessing and a curse while it does resist Fire, Flying, and Normal it's weak to the common types Water, Ground, Grass, and Fighting
  • Has no reliable recovery leaving it easily chipped
[SET]
name: Stealth Rocks
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Stone Edge
move 3: Toxic / Thunder Wave
move 4: Earthquake
item: Leftovers
ability: Impish
nature: Sturdy / Clear Body
evs: 252 HP / 56 Def / 200 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
  • Stealth rocks a staple move on teams and they're easily set up with Regirock due to it's reliable bulk
  • Stone Edge is a strong stab option which allows it to one hit kill offensive Archeops while also having solid chances of kill Magmortar, Pyroar, and Oricorio's.
  • Toxic is great for whittling bulky Pokemon that find themselves switching into Regirock such as Gastrodon and Poliwrath. Alternatively you can run Thunder Wave to potentially generate free turns with paralyzes, or slow down faster offensive Pokemon.
  • Earthquake hits Steel types for Super Effective damage while also neutrally hitting Fighting and Ground types.
  • Protect can be used over Toxic and Thunder Wave it can be used to give extra leftovers recovery whilst allowing you to run a more offensive spread. Protect can help you scout Z Moves as well as choice locked Pokemon such as Choice Banded Stoutland and Choice Specs Pyroar as well as abusing Toxic Spikes.

Set Details
========
  • Max HP coupled with 56 Def EVs and an Impish nature allow Regirock to hit a jumpoint in special defense and take physical hits Pokemon such as, Zangoose and Choice Band Stoutland better. Regirock can live Facade into Close Combat and have a high chance of living two Superpower's
  • 200 SpDef EV's coupled with Max HP allow Regirock to survive a variety of special hits. Regirock can avoid the 2HKO from Choice Specs Pyroar HP Grass while also surviving a Fire Blast and Focus Blast from Modest Magmortar.
  • Leftovers maximizes longevity by granting it passive recovery
  • Chople Berry can be used to survive super effective fighting type moves
  • Sturdy can be used to survive hits from full such as Shiftry or Alolan Exeggutor's Leaf Storms while Clear Body avoids Intimidate from Qwilfish, stats being lowered by Parting Shot, and Acid Spray from Skunk.
Usage Tips
========
  • Regirock should primarily switch into common pokemon on which it has a type advantage over such as Kangaskhan, Pyroar, Magmortar, and Archeops
  • Regirock should not be used to check more than 2 Pokemon on the opposing team as it's very easily worn down
  • Stay away from status as that can reduce Regirock's longevity
  • If Stealth Rock has already been set up try to status Water-, Fighting-, Grass-, and Ground-types when they are predicted to switch into one of Regirock's attacks to leave them crippled
  • Make sure to keep Regirock healthy versus important threats such as Charizard and Pyroar as after a little bit of chip as then they can easily kill Regirock

Team Options
========
  • Grass types such as Ferroseed and Shiftry and resist Water, Grass, and Ground moves for Regirock while Regirock resists Fire and Flying moves in return
  • Fighting resist is key as most fighting types fear little from Regirock's attacks and do a big amount of damage in return. Weezing is a perfect partner as it not only fears little from most fighting type attacks it also resists grass and is immune to ground because of Levitate
  • Healing Wish from Lilligant, Musharna, and Mesprit are appreciated to help with Regirock getting easily worn down while Regirock can stop Skuntanks in return.
  • If your using Thunder Wave slow wallbreakers such as SD Absol or Calm Mind Mesprit appreciate faster threats being slown down
  • Substitute or Fake Out Pokemon such as Kangaskhan and Mesprit that can make use of Pokemon being Toxic'ed by Regirock
  • Pokemon that appreciate Stealth Rock support as well as resistances to Fire, Normal, Flying such as Lilligant, Jynx, and Gurdurr
  • Heal Bell support from Lanturn, Musharna, and Granbull are great as they can get rid of status. Lanturn helps check Water-types while Musharna and Granbull help with Fighting-types.
  • Skuntank is a great teammate as it absorbs Toxic-Spikes while also combating Grass-type Pokemon such as Lilligant. Regirock also checks Normal and Ground-types for it

move 3: Explosion
move 4: Stone Edge
item: Heat Rock
ability: Sturdy

evs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
  • Stealth Rock is a great entry hazard and in conjunction with Sturdy and Regirock's bulk it become very easy to set up
  • Sunny Day provides sun teams with 8 turns of sun with Heat Rock
  • Explosion is used to not waste sun terms or as a strong suicide move
  • Stone Edge gives Regirock a hard hitting stab move
Set Details
========
  • Max HP and Attack coupled with an Adamant nature allow Regirock to be threatening while also giving it the bulk to set up Stealth Rocks or Sunny Day
  • Sturdy makes sure you can set up Sunny Day or Stealth Rock each game
  • Heat Rock enables you to 8 turns of sun unless a different type of weather is set up

Usage Tips
========
  • Regirock should generally be used as your lead to provide a quick way to set up Stealth Rock and Sunny Day, but it is a good idea to lead with another Pokemon if an opposing Taunt user is seen at preview
  • Set up Stealth Rock or Sunny Day depending on if the team is very weak to your fast sun sweepers or if they're weaker to Stealth Rocks being on the field
  • Gain momentum with Explosion after you have set up with either of your support moves
  • It is most likely going to be using Explosion after a Sunny Day or Stealth Rock in most scenarios, Regirock should generally be preserved to combat Normal and Flying-types such as Kangaskhan and Archeops. Kangaskhan in particular, is important for sun teams to beat, as it wastes sun turns via Fake-Out, so Regirock should be kept alive to repeatedly set up Sunny Day on it

Team Options
========
  • Chlorophyll Pokemon such as Shiftry, Lilligant, and Victreebell
  • Fire Type Pokemon like Charizard, Pyroar, and Magmortar
  • Secondary sun setters such as Liepard and Volbeat are great since Regirock can't always set up sun
  • This Regirock set should only be used on dedicated sun teams as well

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Counter can be used since Regirock can live most physical hits from Pokemon such as Primeape and Regirock can proceed to KO them with counter this is typically used in conjunction with a Chople berry keep in mind you do lose reliable recovery and a move slot
  • Curse can be used in conjunction with Rest and Sleep Talk to make Regirock a win con although with this set you are very susceptible to Taunt and miss out on support moves
  • Drain Punch can be used instead of Earthquake as another form of recovery, but it's can be very weak
  • Normalium Z Psych Up can be used to heal Regirock back up to full at any given point in the match, but it wastes a valuable move slot along with a Z crystal and Leftover's passive recovery
  • Lum or Chesto berry can be used to heal Regirock back up to full and get rid of other status, but it needs the appropriate support to not be passive while sleeping

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-types**: Bulky Water-types such as Poliwrath, Gastrodon, and Gastrodon take little from Regirock's attacks and can retaliate with Scalds and Hydro Pumps. Offensive Water types such as Floatzel and Ludicolo can live a Stone Edge and retaliate back with Hydro Pump as well.

**Grass-types**: Exeggutor Alola, Ferroseed, and Gourgeist-XL fear little from Regirock's attacks and can cripple Regirock with a status move or a powerful STAB attack.

**Ground-types**: Bulky Ground-types such as Golurk, Piloswine, Gastrodon, and Torterra take small amounts from Regirocks attacks while also being immune to Thunder Wave they can find the opportunity to set up or put Stealth Rocks on the field which can be the turning point in a battle, but the must be wary if Regirock is carrying Toxic

**Fighting-types**: Strong Fighting-types such as Gurdurr and Throh fear little from Regirock while doing big damage in return; additionally they can take advantage of Regirock's status moves via Guts. You also have to watch out for Pokemon that run fighting coverage such Focus Blast from Alolan Raichu and Charizard as well as Close Combat from Zangoose.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Regirock has a solid defensive typing giving it key resistances to Fire, Flying, and Normal.
  • Can run Sunny Day sets to support sun teams
  • Supports teams with Stealth Rock, Thunder Wave, and Toxic this isn't really an overview worthy point. just make sure to really stress how bulky it is and how great it blanket checks a ton of really good stuff from zard to arch. there won't be many bullets but that's the real important thing to say
  • Susceptible to Grass and Water Types such as Gastrodon, Torterra, and Lilligant dont need examples in the overview. id just say that rock typing is double edged, ur also weak to ground and fighting which is absolutely worth mentioning
  • Has no reliable recovery leaving it easily chipped

move 4: Earthquake

  • Sturdy can be used to survive hits from full such as Shiftry or Alolan Exeggutor's Leaf Storms can be used doesn't make sense if ur not talking about the other option. clear body is nice too, things like acid spray skunk and parting shot don't give it as much annoyance
Usage Tips
========
  • Regirock should primarily switch into common pokemon that it has a type advantage on? something like that, u cant just say "switch into common pokemon" because that's way too generic and completely useless info such as Kangaskhan, Pyroar, Magmortar, and Archeops
  • Regirock should not be used to check more than 2 Pokemon on the opposing team as it's very easily worn down
  • Stay away from status as that can prolong Regirock's longevity
  • Try to status Water and Grass types on switches as they oftenly switch into Regirock to leave them crippled. fighting and ground types like to come in too, idk why u keep mentioning only water and grass mons
something about keeping it healthy if they've got something like charizard that u don't have other checks to. i see too many ppl let regi get weakened way too easily

Team Options
========
  • Grass types resist Water and Grass moves for Regirock while Regirock resits Fire and Flying moves in return. also ground and fighting resists ,,,

  • If your using Thunder Wave slow wallbreakers such as SD Absol or Calm Mind Mesprit appreciate faster threats being slown down
  • Pokemon with Substitute or Fake Out can make use of Pokemon being Toxiced by Regirock
pokemon that appreciate rocks support and a fire resist. also just general strong breakers that get forced out after (like ur alolan eggy or goose) like something bulky to fall back on

Usage Tips
========
  • Regirock should almost (if u see somth random like u expect a taunt lead or w/e then id go with somth else) always be used as your lead to provide seems like u forgot to finish this.
  • Set up Stealth Rock or Sunny Day depending on if the team is very weak to your fast sun sweepers or if they're weaker to Stealth Rocks being on the field i don't rly agree with this. u p much always want sun, the point id make is that prioritize sun if u can only get up one or the other
  • Gain momentum with Explosion after you have set up with either of your support moves

Team Options
========
  • Chlorophyll Pokemon such as Shiftry, Lilligant, and Victreebell
  • Fire Type Pokemon like Charizard, Pyroar, and Magmortar
u can also make a general point before getting to specifics like "this set fits best on dedicated sun teams". also mention secondary sun setters like liepard

  • Counter can be used since Regirock can live most physical hits from Pokemon such as Primeape and Regirock can proceed to KO them with counter typically with chople

careful nature also seems worth putting here if u wanna rly focus on spdef

why is there no fighting type coverage section ?_? and i don't just mean fighting types, random focus blasts or w/e are also gonna chip this down

Hey a few things:
  • I'd remove clear body as an ability due to it being pretty much inferior to sturdy in my opinion.
  • You need to specifically state that when using counter in conjunction with chople, that you're only able to use clear body, as it was a move available to it pre hidden ability.
  • When talking about switching into pyroar and magmortar, you should say that it has to be careful of coverage, especially as magmortar is generally av and thus can switch moves freely.
  • As gimmicky as it sounds, rest can be used on bulkier builds to give it semi reliable recovery, so I'd mention that in other options.
  • I'd mention weezing as another check to it, as it has access to taunt and wisp.
  • Regi really appreciates hazard support, especially toxic spike removal, due to it not having any form of recovery (outside of rest).
  • You could potentially mention Rocky Helmet as an other options item, but forgoing recovery sucks.

Not QC, just some suggestions:
"name: Stealth Rocks"
No no no. I've seem QC correct this before but it's Rock, not rocks.
-If you're making the sunny day set a suicide lead, then maybe mention that running max speed with jolly allows it to outpace other base 50 mons and many uninvested foes. Put this spread in OO.

  • Earthquake hits Steel types for Super Effective damage while also neutrally hitting Fighting and Ground types.
Protect should be given a mention here in moves, as it is superior to its OO. 1) it can be used for another turn of Leftovers recovery; with Protect + Leftovers, you don't need as much special bulk to live through hits like Pyroar's HP Grass, so you can optionally invest more in Attack (which can let it guarantee the OHKO on the above Fire-types without any residual damage when using Stone Edge, for instance - more calcs below). 2) Obvious, but it also allows Regirock to scout against choice-locked Pokemon, which is particularly effective against Normal-types like Stoutland and Pyroar (ex. will Stoutland lock into Frustration or Superpower; will Specs Pyroar lock into Hyper Voice/Fire Blast or Hidden Power Grass, etc.). 3) Protect is very good on Normal resists like Regirock this meta due in part to how common Toxic Spikes are, considering how often Weezing and Qwilfish are used as Fighting checks, which lets it Toxi-stall very easily due to its high bulk.

Set Details
========
  • Max HP coupled with 56 Def EVs and an Impish nature allow Regirock to take physical from Pokemon such as, Zangoose and Choice Band Stoutland better. Regirock can live Facade into Close Combat and have a high chance of living two Superpower's. Mention that Impish 56 Def EVs let it hit a jump point in Defense.

I have an alternative EV spread that should be given a mention (can check with other QC if necessary): 248 HP / 104 Atk / 16 Def / 140 SpD (use this with Leftovers, Protect / SR / Stone Edge / EQ)
  • 16 Impish EVs hit a jump point in Defense
  • 248 HP / 140 SpD turn Specs Pyroar's HP Grass into a 3HKO (252 SpA Choice Specs Pyroar Hidden Power Grass vs. 248 HP / 140 SpD Regirock: 152-180 (41.8 - 49.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery)
  • 104 Atk means it's going to be less passive, and can OHKO threats like Pyroar and Mild Abomasnow with Stone Edge without having to rely on residual damage, as well as 2HKO some other defensive threats
104 Atk Regirock Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Pyroar: 314-372 (100.3 - 118.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

104 Atk Regirock Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0- Def Abomasnow: 338-398 (105.2 - 123.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

104 Atk Regirock Earthquake vs. 40 HP / 140 Def Lanturn: 202-238 (50.3 - 59.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

104 Atk Regirock Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Lycanroc: 226-268 (77.6 - 92%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

(Clear Body) 104 Atk Regirock Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Qwilfish: 180-214 (54 - 64.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery

(Clear Body) 104 Atk Regirock Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Arbok: 214-254 (81.9 - 97.3%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

104 Atk Regirock Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Turtonator: 186-218 (71.2 - 83.5%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

etc.

Usage Tips
========
  • Regirock should primarily switch into common pokemon on which it has a type advantage over such as Kangaskhan, Pyroar, Magmortar, and Archeops
  • Regirock should not be used to check more than 2 Pokemon on the opposing team as it's very easily worn down

  • Make sure to keep Regirock healthy versus important threats such as Charizard and Pyroar, as after a little bit of chip as then they can easily kill Regirock

Team Options
========
  • Grass types resist Water, Grass, and Ground moves for Regirock while Regirock resists Fire and Flying moves in return. list a couple of examples
  • Fighting resist is key as most fighting types fear little from Regirock's attacks and do a big amount of damage in return Use Weezing as an example. In return, Weezing can switch into physically offensive Grass-types, as well as Ground-type moves for free via Levitate on Regirock's behalf.
  • Healing Wish or Wish from Audino or Mesprit are appreciated to help with Regirock getting easily worn down while Regirock can stop Skuntanks in return. Would not list Audino. Not really a common partner (doubles up on slow Fighting weak Pokemon) or an especially common Pokemon this meta to begin with. Musharna, Clefairy, and Lilligant are some examples of more common Pokemon this meta with HW access. They are also good examples of pokemon that are weak to Skuntank, which Regirock beats.
  • Heal Bell Support - Regirock hates being worn down by Toxic in particular, so Lanturn, Musharna, Granbull are possible partners. Granbull and Musharna check Fighting-types, while Lanturn checks certain Ground- and Water-types for Regirock.
  • If your using Thunder Wave slow wallbreakers such as SD Absol or Calm Mind Mesprit appreciate faster threats being slown down
  • Substitute or Fake Out Pokemon that can make use of Pokemon being Toxiced by Regirock Use Kangaskhan as an example
  • Pokemon that appreciate Stealth Rock support as well as resistances to Fire, Normal, Flying too vague again
  • Skuntank is a good teammate, as it can check most of the Grass-types that give Regirock issues, as well as remove Toxic Spikes so that Regirock is healthy enough to check the Fire- and Normal-types it's usually used to combat, like Pyroar and Kangaskhan.

  • Normalium Z Psych Up can be used to heal Regirock to full, as well as potentially copy any stat boosts. However, this should only be an option if the rest of your Pokemon cannot fit a Z crystal optimally.
  • Similarly, Rest with a Lum or Chesto berry can be used to heal Regirock to full, as well as rid it of annoying status. But, it needs the appropriate support in order to avoid being too passive while sleeping.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Exeggutor-Alola, Ferroseed, and Gourgeist-XL fear little from Regirock's attacks and can cripple Regirock with a status move or a powerful STAB attack.

**Ground-types**: Bulky Ground-types such as Golurk, Piloswine, and Torterra take small amounts from Regirock's attacks while also being immune to Thunder Wave they can find the opportunity to set up or put Stealth Rocks on the field which can be the turning point in a battle. (Mention Gastrodon here. Like Torterra, Gastrodon is a great example of a bulky Ground-type with reliable recovery that counters Regirock. Also note here that these Ground-types must be careful of Regirock's Toxic).

**Fighting-types**: Strong Fighting-types (ex. Gurdurr, Throh) fear little from Regirock while doing big damage in return; additionally, they can capitalize on Regirock's status moves via Guts. You also have to watch out for Pokemon that run fighting coverage such Focus Blast from Alolan Raichu and Charizard, and Close Combat from Zangoose.

See what other QC think, but I would like to see another section like **Residual Damage** or something to that effect, considering Regirock's lack of reliable recovery and how badly Toxic ruins its ability to combat what it's normally used for in teambuilding.
I had a lot of input as I am an avid user of Regirock. 2/3 once this is implemented, iRebel. Good work!
