Reuniclus [QC 0/3]

[OVERVIEW]

-With a high Special Attack stat and access to Calm Mind make Reuniclus a solid clean up sweeper and a passive Calm Mind user.
-It puts defensively inclined teams under pressure once all checks have been eliminated.
-With access to Recover this gives Reuniclus the ability to check foes repeatedly and setup Calm Minds with ease.
-Magic Guard makes Reuniclus difficult to wear down with status being ineffective against it. It becomes very versatile and bulky.
-Good bulk in conjunction with resistances to a handful of dangerous types such as Psychic and Fighting means it can comfortably take various weak or resisted hits, such as Choice item Tapu Lele's Psyshock and Choice Scarf Garchomp’s Earthquake.
-Although its typing gives useful resistances it also has unfortunate weaknesses especially to Bug with it being a prominent type with Buzzwole and Volcarona being so common.
-It is also weak to Ghost and Dark-types also very common with Alolan Marowak being a very common threat being able to check and pressure Reuniclus leaving it vulnerable to Pursuit and Knock Off.
-It is extremely Slow. It is almost guaranteed to take a hit before attacking.

[SET COMMENTS]

Moves
========

- Calm Mind allows Reuniclus to boost its Special Attack and Special Defense to high levels allowing it to be a solid special wall.
-Psyshock is STAB boosted and allows Reuniclus to break through other special walls and winning Calm Mind Matchups.
-Focus Blast is to hit Dark and Steel-types although it has trouble breaking through Bulky Psychic-types like Jirachi,Bronzong and Slowbro and with no way to damage Mega Sableye.
-Shadow Ball Hits Bulky Psychic-types like Mega Metagross and Jirachi and Ghost-types. It covers Mega Sableye relatively well but is easily walled by Dark-types leaving no way to counter them being forced to switch out.
-Recover allows Reuniclus to stay on the field for a long time and helps to keep its Calm Mind boosts.

Set Details
========

-Magic Guard allows Reuniclus to not have to worry about Passive damage like status or Stealth Rock and Spikes.
-Spe Evs allow it to Check many threats like uninvested Slowbro, Hitting Hard With Shadow Ball before it initiates a Calm Mind War.
-Full HP and Defense investment Gives Reuniclus A lot of physical bulk and Balances out It’s Defences after a couple of Calm Minds. This also makes Reuniclus very tough To take down.
-Leftovers slowly recovers Reuniclus’ health and combined with recover is very bulky and hard to stop.
-0 Attack IVs makes it to where Reuniclus takes minimum damage from Foul Play as well as being mixed with a Bold Nature lessens the threat of Foul Play.

Usage Tips
========

-Calm Mind is used Passively when You get a free turn or when there is a Pokemon on the Field which poses little threat to it.
-Alternating between Calm Mind and Recover until Reuniclus has enough boosts to clean sweep.
-When lacking Focus Blast you should double switch if expecting a Pursuit Trapper to switch in on Reuniclus.
If it carries Focus Blast Only use it when taking out the Trapper if it is absolutely necessary and no other Pokemon can do the job easier.
-Calm Minds should not be setup when there are still checks to Reuniclus on the opposing team.
-Switch Reuniclus in on threats it checks like Scarf Terrakion and passive Pokemon it can take advantage of like Ferrothorn and Amoonguss.

Team Options
========

-Dugtrio takes pressure of Pokemon like Tyranitar and is capable of eliminating the Majority of steel types that threaten Reuniclus like Jirachi and Unaware Clefable.
-Magnezone traps Mega Scizor with Magnet Pull and eliminates it. As Mega Scizor is one of the most prominent threats to Reuniclus.
-Fighting-types like Buzzwole,Keldeo and Terrakion are capable of pressuring Dark-types that threaten Reuniclus.
-Pursuit Trappers like Tyranitar are able to eliminate and trap Psychic-types that reuniclus has trouble with.
-Wall Breakers like Buzzwole, Mega Metagross and Greninja are able to reduce the number of boosts needed for a clean sweep and to eliminate Checks to Reuniclus.
-Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Latios are able to overwhelm stops to Reuniclus.
-Pokemon that heavily pressure offense like Scarf Nihilego and Swords Dance+Rock Polish Landorus-T are able to make up for Reuniclus’ inability to setup effectively.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

-Colbur Berry can be used to surprise Dark-types but works better with Leftovers.
-Signal Beam is an option to hit Dark and Psychic-types and to deal more damage to Hoopa-U, but is less reliable than having Shadow Ball or Focus Blast.
-Grass Knot can Be used to hit Quagsire but outside of that doesn’t do much else.
-Toxic can break through Unaware users but prefers the coverage more than status
-Electrium Z with Thunder is useful for winning against Tapu Fini and Pyukumuku as well as dealing with other Water-types as well as Celesteela and Skarmory. But this involves switching Leftovers and losing coverage for Dark and Psychic-types which is unfavourable.
-A pivot set with Regenerator could work with Reuniclus’ Impressive bulk but a Magic Guard Set is preferred as Status is a huge Weakness of Reuniclus with no Magic Guard.
-Trick room can work to help Reuniclus clean up late game and helps outspeed many checks to Reuniclus but Recover and Calm Mind are prefered for status moves and Coverage helps to counter certain threats. Plus Magearna in most cases, outclasses it as a Trick Room setter.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Dark-types like Tyranitar are faster,take little damage from its Attacks except Focus Blast and either OHKOs with Crunch or Pursuit traps Reuniclus. Other fast threats include Weavile ,Bisharp and Hoopa-U.

**Bug-types**:Buzzwole outpaces and deals very heavy damage with Lunge and Leech Life. Granted Buzzwole can’t Directly switch Into Reuniclus with a chance Of getting KOed. Mega Scizor can use Reuniclus as setup bait and threaten with STAB U-turn. Other threats include Volcarona with Bug Buzz and Mega Pinsir.

**Ghost-types**:Alolan Marowak outpaces Reuniclus and can Hit Reuniclus with a Super Effective Shadow Bone. Gengar heavily outspeeds reuniclus and hits with a powerful Shadow Ball but has trouble Koing Reuniclus with a couple of Calm Minds even with Life Orb.

**Unaware Users**: Unaware users ignore Reuniclus’ Calm Minds which is it’s main source of damage and bulk. This gives Reuniclus a hard time trying to break through them. The Main Unaware users include Pyukumuku,Clefable and Quagsire.

Not QC.

Mention Trick Room.

I don't know if it should actually be a set or a mention in OO, I'll let you decide. Reuniclus under TR is good against offense as it acts as a late game cleaner.
Reuniclus @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Psychic / Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball

If you do decide to mention it in OO, mention that it is outclassed by TR Magearna.

Overall, good job. :]

My uploaded analysis said:
  • A high Special Attack stat combined with access to Calm Mind makes Reuniclus a solid, non-passive Calm Mind user.
  • It puts defensively inclined balance teams under heavy pressure once its checks have been removed.
  • Access to reliable recovery allows Reuniclus to check foes repeatedly and to set up multiple boosts consistently.
  • Magic Guard makes Reuniclus very difficult to wear down due to its immunity to Stealth Rock, Spikes, and Toxic damage.
  • Good bulk in conjunction with resistances to a handful of dangerous types such as Psychic and Fighting means it can comfortably take various weak or resisted hits, such as Choice item Tapu Lele's Psyshock and Choice Scarf Garchomp's Earthquake, well.
  • That said, while its typing offers these resistances, it often undermines said resistances due to the two most common Fighting-type Pokemon (Pheromosa and Buzzwole) being part Bug-type and due to its ability to check Psychic-types either being dependent on them locking themselves out of certain moves or simply not holding up due to coverage or utility moves like Shadow Ball or Taunt.
  • It is weak to two other dangerous types in Ghost and Dark, with the former allowing Alolan Marowak to heavily pressure Reuniclus's team and the latter leaving it vulnerable to Pursuit and Knock Off. This hurts its defensive utility even further.
  • It is extremely slow, meaning that it will almost always take a hit before it can attack.
If you're going to copy my analysis and very slightly re-word it at least try harder than this.

Due to some extensive research from my colleague Martin I have decided to close this analysis due to plagiarism. Though the wording is slightly different the sentence structuring is about the same as the previous analysis. This is unacceptable.
