200 PLAY: New and Improved

Hello, and welcome to my Other Metagame, a revamp of 200 play. What is 200 play, you ask? 200 Play is a metagame in which you can only use Pokemon legally obtainable in Pokemon Ruby&Sapphire. This means no Pokemon from the first and second generation not legally obtainable in RS. It should also be noted that egg moves obtained by breeding a Pokemon legal in 200 play and a Pokemon illegal in 200 play are not allowed. For example, Misdreavus is illegal in 200 play, but Dusclops needs to breed with Misdreavus in order to have Pain Split.

Premise
This is an attempt to revitalize the 200 only metagame by updating it with all BW2 clauses, moves, abilities, and items.

Initial Banlist
Drizzle and Swift Swim (Ignore this. Politoed and Kyogre are both banned.)

Banned Pokemon
Groudon
Kyogre
Rayquaza
Deoxys
Jirachi
Blaziken
Any Pokemon not obtainable legally in RS.

EDIT: For now, I'll unban all DW abilities until I hear otherwise that some are too powerful.

Where can we play?

Right now, you'd have to arrange this through PMs on Showdown or VMs here on Smogon. Eventually, I'll probably ask Joim to set it up in his server.

Sleep

Gen 3 mechanics for sleep will be implemented when this gets its own tier.

EDIT: http://www.smogon.com/rs/articles/200_metagame Smogon article about the original metagame.

EDIT: Latios and Latias are unbanned for the time being.

If it's using all BW clauses, maybe it would be worth letting Latias and Latios down for a spin? If they prove to be too powerful, they can easily be banned. Additionally, since the movepool clause is vastly different (lots of shifting through games is possible), it's probably not a bad idea to simply let all Pokemon use their available movepools. It's only an artificial isolation from the other 400 Pokemon, not a complete isolation as was the case in the original games.

It's interesting to note that Ninetales is still around, making Sun a powerful force. Something like Ninetales / Shiftry / Donphan / Salamence / Hariyama / Rhydon could potentially be incredibly powerful.

Hm, yeah I think letting Latis down would probably be fine. Eviolite Magneton will probably be the best Skarm counter. I'll see how it goes.

This is interesting, but it isn't really BW2 OU. Only like 5 mons from BW2 OU are from gen3 (lati@s, metagross, jirachi, salamence, breloom). Can you make a list of all legal mons though?

Yeah, I misspoke there. What I meant to say is that I am trying to make the 200 only meta fresh again by introducing BW items, moves, and abilities. I realize saying it was BW2 OU was dumb, I meant BW2 update, but for some reason I said BW2 OU.

Jirachi is banned because there is no way to obtain it in Ruby or Sapphire without a special event (by the time it was released, Colosseum was out).

EDIT: ...oh.
