RMT OF THE WEEK​

Ever wanted your team rated by a lot of people? Do you want all the efforts you put into testing your team, formatting it and finalizing it to count? This is why we have the Team of the Week! This concept aims at letting people who put effort into making quality RMTs get the attention they deserve, as their team will be put on the spotlight for the week. There are a lot of teams that aren't exactly Archive worthy teams that are extremely well built and presented, and these are often left in the dark. Not anymore!

The concept is fairly simple.

~Every week, the RMT-Staff selects a few teams that are nominated as candidates for the Team of the Week.

~These teams are put in a poll. Everyone can vote for the team they think is most deserving for the Team of the Week.

~For the rest of the week, the team with most votes gets posted on Facebook. It also gets a mention here and in #ratemyteam 's topic. People are encouraged to rate it.

Now you're probably thinking, "You're optimistic. Why would people rate this team more than another? After all, it's no different from any other team." Yeah, maybe. But by rating the Team of the Week, you can get rewarded. Obviously, the rewards are going to be related to Rate My Team.

~For the people who have shown a bit more dedication, #ratemyteam HOps.
~People with #ratemyteam VOps or better also get the same privileges as RMT badged users when it comes to nominating teams for the Team of the Week.

Attention aspiring raters!
I hope you realise that this is the perfect opportunity for all of you unbadged users to draw attention on you from the RMT staff. If you produce good rates on a Team of the Week, something that most of the Staff is going to look at, you increase your chances of getting badged.

What kind of teams are going to be selected for the Team of the Week?
If you are interested in getting your team selected for the team of the week, here are some things that you should do to increase your chances of getting nominated. Here are some of them:

~Make sure your team is viable and effective.
This one is fairly simple. If your team doesn't fit XY, or it doesn't have any kind of success, it won't be selected for the Team of the Week. Like I said, it doesn't have to be archive worthy, it doesn't have to have peaked #1. Just a moderately successful team can make it, but it has to work.

~Your team has to be well presented.
Don't you hate to post in a thread that doesn't look good? Yeah I hate it too. If you put a lot of effort into presenting your team well, it'll show and people will be happy to rate it. We appreciate when people take time to improve the quality of the thread they post in Rate my Team, as it improves the quality of the forum. This should be rewarded.

~Don't be a dick.
No one likes to rate a close minded moron's team. Be nice!

*NEW RULE* In case of a tie, the team with the fewest rates gets to be the RMT of the Week, since we want to let more people rate it after it was selected.

Hey Nova, when you said fewest rates, does that mean fewest comments? If we had the same number of comments, and the same number of votes, what happens then?

No the person with the fewest votes in the poll, if there is a tie. so If you and analytic tied, neither of you would get rated.

That kinda sucks for us, so right now the team by Nascar would win if me and Analytic (maybe even a 3 way tie with steelphoenix) tied?

Nope, I'm pretty sure if there was a 3 way tie, the person out of those 3 with the least rates wins.

Haters being hating. How many fake accounts do you think I have? Its too much effort to make a dozen new emails and register them all. I've asked some friends to vote for my team, but besides that, I've only got this 1 account. Also, if I was making fake accounts, I'd be at 100+ votes by now ;)

I have made rmts of me hitting top 2 in po uu last gen and top 30 I have decided to show off my teams on my YouTube instead of on the forums sense I am not usually active here

Thanks and I totally agree with you. Everyone has their own tastes. Also, its a little harder for me to peak higher than Analytic considering how on the Viability Rankings, Mega Absol is C Rank while Mega Altaria is S Rank. I'm trying to use an underrated Mega and no doubt I'm gonna struggle with it. For most people Mega Altaria will probably work better because its more dependable, hence the S Rank.

The placement of ur mega on an arbitrary thread that has the inherently flawed goal of determining the "objective worth" of each pokemon does not directly correlate w/ your team's being good or bad. A score on a leaderboard on a simulator in this day & age is equally irrelevant when it comes to determining a team's strength & I'm not sure why these factors are even being brought up. However, I almost wish I had taken the time to ladder, or built an OU team instead, for then I think my team would attract more attention and not be so far behind in the poll.

e: realized this post could come across as antagonistic, please don't interpret it as such. I'm simply upset that my team's not doing as well as I would have hoped.

Your team is Great. You're right about how we shouldn't judge a team based on Viability Rankings and Ranking. Technically its more on the player and not so much the team. I think they should make it where each team is rated for that tier, like a separate OU team of the week and a separate Ubers team of the week. That way you can get more people involved and OU won't have such a huge advantage over the lower tiers.
