DQ Time: 2 days
Restricted Moves: No uses of Recover/Rest/Moonlight and their clones, no chills.

Arena: The Frozen Throne

The Frozen Throne, the dreaded seat of power of the Lich King, is a large ice platform upon the top of a giant spire. An invisible wall surrounds the platform, preventing any Pokémon from falling below. However, it is highly unadvisable to fly too much above the arena, because the strong winds generally cause the unfortunate mon to be blowed away (which would result in the Pokémon being effectively knocked out).

An interesting feature of the Frozen Throne is its soul siphon. Whenever a Pokémon deals 30 or more damage in a single round, he acquires a Soul Fragment at the end of the round. The Fragment can be used at the start of the next round to get one of the following effects:

- Restoring 10 Energy. This effect does not consume an action.
- Powering up an attack, causing it to deal 3 more damage. The user must declare which attack will be powered up (for example, he could issue the following order: Tackle - Thunder Wave - Tackle (powered up) ).

The Soul Fragment must be used in the round it gets available or it is lost (so, you cannot store it up). If the Soul Fragment is not used in the turn it is available, the user takes 10 flat damage caused by the fragment exploding.

------------------------------------------------------

That's it. Will you champion the cause of Light on Tirion Fordring's side? Will you manage to thwart the Lich King's frozen grasp over this world?

EDIT: Also, I'm gonna ref Nonpain and XVIcaliber, PM me your teams.

I'll take you on Zarator.

And so we arrive at a nice doubles match between Rolf and zarator, held around the Frozen Throne. In short, we are on a large platform on a giant spire, and Pokemon are prevented from falling by a wall. There are also surprises in store for anyone who is particularly successful for a given round. With that covered, it only remains for Rolf to PM me a team, before zarator can begin the match by posting his first two Pokemon.

Hmm... Go Mist and Skrimir

Mist, start by Yawning in kits direction, while Skrimir calls a mystical sunny day . Next, Mist, Fire Blast towards kit while Skrimir crashes into kit with a flame charge. Kiss, finish with an air slash at rev while Emboar barrels into kit with a massive flame charge.

So... the Light's vaunted justice has finally arrived.

Mask, I want you to fuel your life into a simulacrum of yourself. Let it get drowsy in your place. Myrkul, give Togekiss a bad look and paralyze him with your glare. Your opponent's attempt to bring weather on his side is worthless anyway, as long as your Air Lock stops him cold

Now that their main offense has been halted, it's time to go on the offense yourselves! Mask, use your frosty bite to maim that Togekiss. Myrkul, get that Emboar paralyzed as well.

Mask, keep it going and bite again with your icy canines that joke of a bird. Myrkul, mash your punches to the ground, and cause the upper spire to crack - your opponents will get their graves ready up right now!

Mask
Substitute (20 HP) - Ice Fang vs Togekiss - Ice Fang vs Togekiss

Myrkul
Glare vs Togekiss - Glare vs Emboar - Rock Slide on both opponents (if only one of them may be hit unlike in-game, let it be Togekiss)

You will learn firsthand, Fordring. When my work is complete, you will beg for mercy - and I will deny you. Your anguished cries will be testament to my unbridled power.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome everyone up to the top of the Frozen throne, where we have all gathered for a very exciting matchup: Rolf and zarator, who both now have very powerful Pokemon at their disposal, and the Pokemon look ready and rearing to go up against the tough competition. It should also be interesting to see them interact with the Soul Fragments around the place, because it looks like 30 HP per round might be very acheivable. Mask starts the bidding, creating a Substitute (20) from nowhere and placing it in front of him, so that the others will not be able to attack him properly. Soon afterwards, Mist Yawns at Mask, but can't quite aim it past the substitute and it hits that instead, leaving Mask unaffected. Next up is Myrkul, who glares sharply at Mist, and unfortunately Mist is so psyched out by the Glare that it gets completely paralysed and can't move as well. Finally, Skrimir uses his inner heat to generate a Sunny Day, but unfortunately Myrkul's Air Lock ability stops the bright sunlight from having any effect, leaving the weather constant down at ground level.

Next, Mask jumps out briefly from behind it sub, and gathers up ice into its mouth before delivering an Ice Fang to Mist, which freezes it completely in ice, unable to move. Afterwards, Myrkul sends another sharp Glare out towards Skrimir, paralysing it like Mist, and leaving it having difficulty moving as well. Next, Mist struggles to move around, trying to let off a firey blast at Mask but unfortunately it can't even move, and doesn't even manage to melt the ice around it with the blast, and it remains encased in it. Finally, Skrimir starts a Flame Charge towards Mask, and eventually barrels into the Substitute, which gives him a boost and so he becomes faster, and the fire around him damages the substitute, but doesn't break it.

Mask begins the end of the round by launching itself over towards Mist once again, letting off another Ice Fang attack on it, and in fact it flinches because of the force of the attack, resulting in it not even managing to struggle against the ice. Mask is also rewarded for his galantry in battle with a Soul Fragment because he has done so much in the last round. Myrkul follows up with a Rock Slide, throwing rocks all over the other two, and despite missing Mist it hits Skrimir hard with them. Finally, and to end the round, Skrimir overcomes the paralysis to run with another Flame Charge into Mask's substitute, dissloving it because of the repeated blows and so leaving Mask open to being attacked, and also boosting Skrimir's speed once again. This leaves zarator's tem with the momentum and the hax, meaning that it will be very interesting to see what happens next round.

Sunny Day is on for another four rounds, but still has no effect because of Myrkul's ability.

I will freeze you from within until all that remains is an icy husk!

Mask, recover your forces with the soul fragment and maw into the frozen Togekiss as hard as you can, but quickly back off. Myrkul, once Mask has recovered the distance, cause another slide to fall on your unsuspecting opponents! Let them feel the wrath of Icecrown!

Mask, now it's time to take care of your other opponent. Dash into shadows and deal a heavy blow to that suine who dares to inconvenience you. Myrkul, follow it up in the shadows as well. Make the enemy know the touch of darkness before their embrace it for the whole eternity!

Now that you crashed your opponent's resove, it's time to plow through their fears. Mask, bite that icecube of a bird again. Myrkul, mash once more the platform, and let rocks fall from above.

Frostmourne hungers...

EDIT: @Rolf: The point is that you got frozen before having the chance of launching Fire Blast. And since Kitsunoh has 110 base speed and you had 80 (cut by paralysis, too), you act considerably slower than him.

Okay guys I guess we'll do the best we can.

Otherwise, summon an Aura Sphere to break the ice, then Fire Blast at Mask twice. If Mask faints when I'm trying to attack it, switch to an Air Slash at Myrkul.

Skrimir, I want you to do what you do best. Mask is going to be hurting after three Flare Blitzes, yepyep. If Mask faints, then Yawn at Myrkul and if you have a second action after that, Flare Blitz it.

Pray for no paralysis.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And so the second round begins, up here around the Frozen Throne. Before everyone starts, Mask uses the Soul Fragment he has from last round to restore his energy by a bit, revitalising him for the round ahead. After that, and with the round properly begun, Mask moves over to Togekiss and delivers yet another Ice Fang onto her. This time, however, Togekiss does not flinch, and is left to try to bust herself out of the ice later. Next, Myrkul throws up a few rocks into the air, and and they come crashing back down on his two opponents. The Rock Slide hits both hard, and in fact hits so hard that Emboar flinches, and is unable to move for a bit. Togekiss finishes up the round, finally managing to let off a powerful pulse of pure energy. The Aura Sphere crushes the ice and leaves Togekiss free again, but unfortunately the ice also stops the attack from reaching anyone else.

Next, Mask starts off the next round by letting off a fearsome, ghostly claw which rushes towards Emboar. The ShadowStrike crashes into Emboar, and damages him badly, although for once not trying to flinch him. Next, Myrkul follows up with a similar Shadow Punch also against Emboar, leaving it very bruised after the pair of attacks. In responce, Mist, who has just released herself from the ice, sends out a huge Fire Blast at Mask, overcoming the paralysis again. Skrimir also joins in the attack on Mask, shrouding itself in flames and barrelling towards it with a Flare Blitz. It too manages to attack successfully, hurting Mask very badly at the expense of some of its own health.

Finally, Mask lets off what could be its final attack in another powerful Ice Fang at Mist. It doesn't manage any hax this time, but it does hurt Mist and she is really looking like she is feeling the hurt at the moment. Myrkul follows up again, unleashing another deadly Rock Slide attack on the two opponents, and once again Skrimir flinches because of the heavy attack, unable to move. This leaves only Mist, who succefully launches another great Fire Blast over towards Mask, roasting him and leaving him on the brink of passing out. However, all participants are still alive and kicking, and all four will go into the next round together, even if it will probably be the last time it happens! This also leaves Mist, Mask, and Myrkul all with Soul Fragments, so they can all use them this round.

Sunny Day is on for another three rounds, but still has no effect because of Myrkul's ability.

Well this is a bit stupidly haxy :(

Emboar, quickly flame charge at mask until you die. If you get a chance, flare blitz myrcul if mask dies. Use your shard only if you hit myrcul.

Togekiss, same goes for you. Fire blast at mask (but make sure you wait until after Emboar has attacked!) and if you're still alive air slash myrcul...

Hope wanes!

Mask, consume immediately your energy fragment to power up your following attack! Bite into Emboar with freezing fangs! Myrkul, finish it with a powered up Rock Slide! Let the soul of these fools join the Dark Below!

Emboar will probably be still alive, however. Mask, I want you to strike him with your shadowy technique! Myrkul, punch into that suine with your dark fist! Keep mauling him until he's dead! However, if that stupid bird survived the first slide, mash the ground again! Let none survive!

And so we finally come to what surely has to be the first round of knockouts. The round is begun by Mask, who once again draws up ice into his mouth for an Ice Fang, but this time bites down on Skrimir, surely trying to just hax him, and powers it up with his Soul Fragment. However, this time it doesn't do anything, leaving it up to Myrkul to try to defend Mask from their attacks. Myrkul now lets off yet another Rock Slide, continuing the attempts at hax. The sudden shock completely knocks out Mist, and as it crashes down on Skrimir... it flinches once more. This leaves him open to another attack by Mask, who lets off a final ShadowStrike to knock it out completely, leaving only the two ghosts still in the arena, and leaving it with Rolf to release his final two Pokemon. All that happens now is that Myrkul's Soul Fragment explodes on him, doing a lot of damage because it was not used in the round.

Sunny Day is on for another two rounds, but still has no effect because of Myrkul's ability.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And we come back after a while to the next round of our spectacular around the Frozen Throne, and Rolf is releasing his final two Pokemon in order to try to get around his endless struggle against zarator's hax. He releases Marcia the Venemoth and Rolf the Cincinno, leaving the battle entirely in their hands. Mask begins the round by trying to desperately get in some damage before he collapses, extending his shadow over towards Marcia and moving quickly through it to strike her with a Shadow Sneak out of the shadows before anyone can move (2 Energy, 10 Damage) In responce, Marcia attacks it from close range with Struggle Bug in an attempt to finish it off, but it doesn't quite make it and Mask remains, just able to keep attacking (2 Energy, 4 Damage). Then, Myrkul starts to once again Glare violently at Rolf (the Pokemon) (6 Energy), trying to paralyse it with the intimidating look once again, but Rolf Protects itself from the blow and remains able to move just as well as before (7 Energy).

Next, Mask once again jumps out at Marcia to hit it with a Shadow Sneak, knocking it back (6 Energy, 10 Damage). However, the other team seem to be basically ignoring it now, assuming it is out after that attack, and this time Rolf goes next, firing Bullet Seeds towards Myrkul, and he manages to hit it five times, one after the other (8 Energy, 19 Damage). Then, Myrkul turns its steely Glare against Marcia, this time successful in paralysing it (11 Energy). Finally, Marcia manages to overcome the paralysis and creates a 20 HP Substitute in front of her, obscuring the vision of the other Pokemon so that they can only attack the tiny substitute instead (20 HP, 17 Energy).

Finally, Mask finishes up his round by attacking Marcia one more time with another Shadow Sneak (10 Energy, 10 Damage). However, because of the substitute, it can't quite get to Marcia and only manages to do some damage to the substitute, weakening it slightly but not dissolving it and leaving it to take attacks. Then, Rolf fires off a series of Bullet Seeds off towards Myrkul once again, hitting very hard many times (12 Energy, 19 Damage). Myrkul responds by throwing up another huge volume of rocks, knocking around his two opponents badly, and in fact Marcia's Subsitute dissolves completely, leaving her exposed again. (6 Energy, 14 Damage to Marcia, 11 Damage to Rolf). Finally, Marcia starts a weird dance. The Quiver Dance boosts all of her speed, attacking prowess and defenses, leaving her very invigorated for the next round (9 Energy). This leaves the round over, and once again the four will face off in the next round, most likely ending with some serious changes. But, for now, we will just have to wait and see. Your orders, please, Rolf!

Sunny Day is on for another round, but still has no effect because of Myrkul's ability.

Sorry about that. Your Pokemon got mied up as they where copied across, so the stats and abilities got switched. I'll fix it in a new post soon.

So myrcul is faster than Marcia to glare at it before I set up a sub? 90 spe vs 65. Marcia has tinted lens, making the damage multiplier .67, 9*.67 = 6 so it should kill.

Mask begins the round by trying to desperately get in some damage before he collapses, extending his shadow over towards Marcia and moving quickly through it to strike her with a Shadow Sneak out of the shadows before anyone can move (2 Energy, 12 Damage) In responce, Marcia attacks it from close range with Struggle Bug in an attempt to finish it off, and because its Tinted Lens boosts its ability to give resisted hits, it just manages to knock it out (2 Energy, 6 Damage). Then, Myrkul starts to once again Glare violently at Rolf (the Pokemon) (6 Energy), trying to paralyse it with the intimidating look once again, but Rolf Protects itself from the blow and remains able to move just as well as before (7 Energy).

This time Rolf goes first, firing Bullet Seeds towards Myrkul, and he manages to hit it five times, one after the other (8 Energy, 22 Damage). Then, Marcia creates a 20 HP Substitute in front of her to dodge Myrkul's later attack, obscuring the vision of the other Pokemon so that they can only attack the tiny substitute instead (20 HP, 17 Energy). Finally, Myrkul turns its steely Glare against Marcia, but is unsuccessful in paralysing it because it accidently targets the substitute, leaving Marcia untouched (11 Energy).

Finally, Rolf fires off a series of Bullet Seeds off towards Myrkul once again, hitting very hard many times (12 Energy, 22 Damage). Myrkul responds by throwing up another huge volume of rocks, the Rock Slide knocking around Rolf badly, and also hitting Marcia's substitute hard, although not hard enough to break it up. (6 Energy, 16 Damage to Marcia, 11 Damage to Rolf). Finally, Marcia starts a weird dance. The Quiver Dance boosts all of her speed, attacking prowess and defenses, leaving her very invigorated for the next round (9 Energy). This leaves the round over, and now it is zarator's turn to release a new Pokemon. The tide of the battle has really changed, and it will certainly be interesting to see if zarator can turn it around with another Pokemon. Your Pokemon, please, zarator!

Sunny Day is on for another round, but still has no effect because of Myrkul's ability.

Unmmm hmm.

Cincinno, use your shard to regain energy, then protect yourself. Next use bullet seed on rev, then rock blast on lampent. Marcia, go for the throat. Psychic rev twice, then hit lampent with a sleep powder. I'm not sure if rev will have dropped by the third action, but if he hasn't, Venomoth should substitute Sleep Powder with Psychic to try and finish him.

Come then, champions! Feed me your rage!

Shar, scorch that Venomoth with your cursed fire , then consume the two fools in a hell of flames! Keep a special eye for that Venomoth in particular - burn it to ashes!

Myrkul, let those fools think you're done, if they want! Paralyze that moth with your deadly gaze! Then, shield yourself against your opponent's assault, I still need your might. And now, turn your hatred on that rodent and paralyze it too!

Shar
Flamethrower (Venomoth) - Heat Wave (both opponents) - Flamethrower (Venomoth)

Myrkul
Glare (Venomoth) - Protect - Glare (Cinccino)

Frostmourne feeds upon the souls of your fallen allies!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

zarator begins the round, sending out Shar the Lampent to try to take out the match. However, it starts off with Rolf, who uses the Soul Fragment to boost its energy quickly, just before Protecting itself from any damage, even though it doesn't really do anything because the others seem to be ignoring him completely (7 Energy). Beside him, Marcia concentrates and lets off a huge Psychic attack at Myrkul, throwing it around mentally for a while before just dumping it on the ground (7 Energy, 17 Damage). In responce, Myrkul once again Glares at Marcia, but accidently glares at the substitute instead, leaving Marcia once again unaffected (6 Energy). Finally, Shar finishes up the round by launching a Flamethrower at Marcia's substitute, roasting it so completely that it dissolves into nothingness, leaving Marcia once again exposed (6 Energy, 20 Damage).

Next, Rolf launches yet another of his series of Bullet Seeds at Myrkul, which would do another number on him and in fact almost knock him out completely, but he Protects himself from the attack, leaving himself unhurt (8 Energy) (20 Energy). Marcia continues the assault, trying to batter Myrkul once more with Psychic power to knock him out completely, but once again he protects and no damage is done (11 Energy). Finally, Shar finishes up with a giant Heat Wave, which starts near him and spreads out to cover both opponents, dealing a number to both and burning Rolf (6 Energy, 17 Damage to Marcia, 15 Damage to Rolf).

Finally, everyone centres around Shar, ready to try to knock him out before zarator can release another Pokemon to help him. Rolf changes tack and launches a giant Rock Blast at Shar, and the rocks hit him several times, doing a lot of damage (6 Energy, 33 Damage). To follow it up, Marcia tries to finish off Myrkul with another Psychic attack, but unfortunately it doesn't quite KO and Marcia is open to be attacked back (7 Energy, 17 Damage). Shar takes the chance, and launches yet another Flamethrower at Marcia, boosted by the last of the sun to incredible power (6 Energy, 20 Damage). In the meantime, Myrkul lets off one more Glare at Marcia, finally paralysing him properly (6 Energy). This leaves the round over, and we now wait for zarator to issue instructions.

Sunny Day is now off.

Bow down before your lord and master!

Shar, consume your Fragment to raise your energy, then blast at that Venomoth with everything you got! Ashes to ashes! Then, turn your wrath on that Cinccino and destroy him, too

Myrkul, aid Shar into finishing that moth as fast as you can! Then, keep it up with that Cinccino, as well!

Shadow Sneak (Venomoth) - Drain Punch (Cinccino) - Drain Punch (Cinccino)

Shar

As usual, once Venomoth dies all attacks would be redirected on Cinccino.

I'll keep you alive to witness the end, Fordring. I would not want the Light's greatest champion to miss seeing this wretched world remade in my image.

We've really only got one option guys. Rolf, use you shard for energy and start by encoring shadow sneak. When rev turns to attack you, it'll end up only remembering to use shadow sneak, then it'll faint out of exhaustion!! hit that lampent with 2 rock blasts after. Marcia, quickly disable flamethrower before lampent has a chance to hurt you, then use your shard to gain energy and use this lull to set up a quiver dance. Wait until Rolf is able to use his last action before you attack - if lampent is dead, quiver dance again, otherwise smack it with a leech life.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The new round starts off with Myrkul using up his Soul Fragment to gain energy and then once more using Shadow Sneak at Marcia, jumping out at him from the shadows before anyone can move in a bid to finally finish him off. The blow leaves him with next to no health left, but at the same time Myrkul with almost no energy to continue fighting, just managing to stay standing (2 Energy, 12 Damage). Then, Marcia mentally Disables Shars ability to conjure Flamethrowers, leaving it unable to use the attack for some time (6 Energy), before finally taking the chance to restore some energy using the Soul Fragment it was given last round (+10 Energy). Shar then tries to conjure up a Flamethrower, but it has been disabled and so can only use up its Soul Fragment to get some more energy before it is forced to simply Struggle for a while at Marcia instead. It doesn't quite do enough to knock him out, but it is so close that almost any attack will now knock it out (5 Energy, 2 Recoil, 4 Damage). This leaves only Rolf, who uses his Soul Fragment for energy and then moves over to Encore Myrkul's Shadow Sneak, and overcomes the paralysis to manage it, leaving Myrkul stuck using it for a while (10 Energy).

The next action starts once again with Myrkul Shadow Sneaking out at Marcia, which easily knocks it out, leaving only one Pokemon on Rolf's side (2 Energy, 12 Damage). Next, Shar once again tries to let off a Flamethrower at Rolf, but it is still disabled, meaning that he can only pull off a Struggle around Rolf, not doing very much and paving the way for a counter attack from Rolf (9 Energy, 2 Recoil, 4 Damage). Rolf takes the opportunity, once again overcoming the paralysis to launch a Rock Blast, pounding him with a series of rocks which hurts incredibly badly (6 Energy, 33 Damage).

Finally, the last action goes much like the last one: Myrkul uses Shadow Sneak, but it doesn't do any damage to the Normal-type Rolf, leaving him unharmed (2 Energy). Then, Shar Struggles against Rolf, unable to let off a Flamethrower, and once again it does pitiful damage (13 Energy, 2 Recoil, 4 Damage). Finally, the round ends with Rolf letting off another Rock Blast, this time completely knocking Shar out, leaving zarator with only one Pokemon on the field (10 Energy, 33 Damage). This leaves the round over, and zarator must now release his final Pokemon! Lets go into the end of the battle!

EDIT: I just noticed that I misread instructions, and that Myrkul actually had no Soul Fragment anyway, meaning it should have died after the second attack. As a result, and because it makes no difference, I hereby cast Meteor of Moderate Physical Harm on Myrkul, doing precisely 12 HP of damage and thus KOing him. Also, because I'm a nice guy, I give my KO Counter to Rolf. In addition, Shar's second Struggle should thus have targetted Marcia, KOing it, meaning I hereby cast Low Level Restore on Rolf, healing 4 HP. Finally, Marcia uses a Quiver Dance before she faints but no one cares.
