Tried using intimidate Stoutland today: Stoutland @ Leftovers Trait: Intimidate EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef Careful Nature (+Spd,-Spa) - Thunder Wave - Roar - Return / Rest - Substitute / Superpower / Sleep Talk Thunder Wave and Roar are essentially the extent of Stoutland's support movepool, which begs for a comparison to Druddigon. Stoutland Pros: Intimidate allows for investment in special defense without loss of physical bulk. Slightly better bulk overall Much faster than Druddigon even uninvested Perfect accuracy phaze and paralyze Druddigon Pros: Speed doesn't matter when they're paralyzed Can paralyze electric immunities Can phaze through taunt Rough skin residual damage More useful typing Access to roar and dragon tail Looking at that, Druddigon seems to outclass him. But I don't want to give up on Stoutland yet, he has proved useful. T-Wave and Roar helped to shut down a baton pass team, and Stoutland had the bulk to comfortably (30% left) survive a +2 Surf from Omastar, and fire back a T-Wave, or phaze it out. This is something Druddigon could not do (ice beam), so maybe there is more to Stoutland. Not to mention intimidate burned his white herb on the switch in. The problem I think is, while intimidate is more useful than rough skin, intimidate is only going to help when you switch in (obviously), but para shuffling is all about you staying in while they switch out. I neglected to compare to other possible para shufflers (Hariyama, Serperior)...whatever I don't really see them used that way often. Edit: Realized he gets yawn and toxic as well. He could run a toxic + protect set, but I dn't know how effective it would be. And I don't know how he'd utilize yawn.
