Sandy with a Chance of Hazards

I'm sure you can all see, but this is only my second post. I hope to make this warstory in a satisfactory manner. I'll be sure to learn and improve!

Preface:
This is a battle in Gen 4 OU on the Pokemon Experte server where Latias and Salamence are allowed in OU.
I could not see the opponent’s team. (Strict Damage was not on, so the exact damage that would have been done in HP is shown)

Rules: Evasion Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Sleep Clause, Species Clause, Timed Battle, ! Common Standards

My team "Crobat lead 1.3" brought me to a rank of around 1535 on the PE server
[pimg]169[/pimg][pimg]73[/pimg][pimg]467[/pimg][pimg]94[/pimg][pimg]455[/pimg][pimg]286[/pimg]
Brobat .... Ball Breaker ... Hi ......Stoner .... Fatty .. Dr Pepper

My opponent's (lolxxxxx) team - I didn't get to see it so I'm making you press a button!
[pimg]260[/pimg][pimg]227[/pimg][pimg]490[/pimg][pimg]286[/pimg][pimg]248[/pimg][pimg]212[/pimg]

This is not the best battle that I have had: mistakes were made, there were hax, and, as warstories go, it ends kind of anticlimactically.

The purpose for writing this is to gain experience so I can make a really good warstory when I have a really good battle in the future!

Repetitive battle messages (sand storm, hazards) will be in small text

lolxxxxx sent out Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert).
Deep33 sent out Brobat (lvl 100 Crobat).

[pimg]169[/pimg] 100% vs. [pimg]260[/pimg] 100%

Ah good ol’ Swampy lead. This is where I check the ladder ranking of my opponent quickly. As a general rule, if it’s 1200+ I go taunt, if it’s less, u-turn. Funny how that works, but I hate to see Brobat eat an ice beam and most inexperienced players just spam super effective moves.
Hmm 100, this means he doesn’t ladder, but still a very good chance he has some skill.
To the default!

Turn 1

Brobat used Taunt.
Swampert fell for the taunt!
Swampert used Stealth Rock.
Swampert can't use Stealth Rock after the taunt!
---
Yes! Score one arbitrary point for me! If it has happened once it will happen again. After failing with stealth rock Swampert goes to ice beam which does a respectable but still manageable 40ish % to my hippo. So team, let’s get our hazards up.

Turn 2

Deep33 switched in Fatty (lvl 100 Hippowdon).
[pimg]455[/pimg] 100% vs. [pimg]260[/pimg] 100%

Fatty's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
A sandstorm brewed!
Swampert used Ice Beam.
It's super effective!
Fatty lost 34% of its health.

The sandstorm rages.
Fatty's leftovers restored its health a little!
Fatty restored 6% of its health.

---
Hmm. As I expected. Now to slack off the damage while he tries to ice beam me again.

asianmessi10 has entered the room.

Turn 3

lolxxxxx switched in Skarmory (lvl 100 Skarmory).

[pimg]455[/pimg] 72% vs. [pimg]227[/pimg] 100%

Fatty used Slack Off.
Fatty restored 50% of its health.

The sandstorm rages.
---
Crap Skarm. I don’t want too many spikes up, so I better get him now and set up my rocks later.

asianmessi10: GOGOGO

Turn 4

Deep33 switched in Hi (lvl 100 Magnezone).

[pimg]467[/pimg] 100% vs. [pimg]227[/pimg] 100%

It's Hidden Power Type is Fire.
Skarmory used Spikes.
Spikes were scattered around the foe's team!

The sandstorm rages.
---
Ok one layer, I can spin that away later. Now Skarm, die (or very likely die) from my STAB thunderbolt.

Turn 5

lolxxxxx switched in Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert).

[pimg]467[/pimg] 100% vs. [pimg]260[/pimg] 100%

Hi used Thunderbolt.
It doesn't affect Swampert...
The sandstorm rages.
---
Gah! Got to hand it to him. I thought I was the only one who ran shed shell these days on the PE server.

Deep33: I love shed shell
Deep33: or is it skin?
Deep33: anyway
asianmessi10: LOL

…anyway it’s time to make him pay for those rocks that he must be setting up. Breloom out speeds and takes him down with Spore and will destroy Swampert in probably 2 hits. However he has shown skill thus far so really I expect a switch to a general status absorber if he has one. It better not be a sleep talk Rotom with Overheat or I’m as good as dead in the water.

Turn 6

Deep33 switched in Dr Pepper (lvl 100 Breloom).

Dr Pepper was hurt by Spikes!
Dr Pepper lost 12% of its health.

[pimg]286[/pimg] 88% vs. [pimg]260[/pimg] 100%

Swampert used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around the foe's team!

The sandstorm rages.
Dr Pepper is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Dr Pepper lost 6% of its health.

Dr Pepper was badly poisoned!
---
Now at least I have a general switch in to Blissey if he has it. I got my precious poison status and I hate being on the wrong side of a Thunderwave when I switch in for a Toxic.

Turn 7

lolxxxxx switched in Breloom (lvl 100 Breloom).

[pimg]286[/pimg] 82% vs. [pimg]286[/pimg] 100%

Dr Pepper used Spore.
Breloom fell asleep!

The sandstorm rages.
Dr Pepper is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Dr Pepper lost 6% of its health.
Breloom is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Breloom lost 6% of its health.
Dr Pepper's Poison Heal restored health!
Dr Pepper restored 13% of its health.

---
…Interesting move. I would be hard pressed to ever sack a Breloom to sleep, but it doesn’t really change my plan other than the fact that I don’t have to worry about a Breloom coming in on my Hippowdon. I expect something bulky to come in now since Sleep Clause has been activated. And I hope that he thinks I carry Seed Bomb so I can see something besides Swampert’s mug again. Either way, a sub must come up! I’m not Focus Punching a ghost!

Turn 8

lolxxxxx switched in Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert).
[pimg]286[/pimg] 89% vs. [pimg]260[/pimg] 100%
Dr Pepper used Substitute.
Dr Pepper lost 25% of its health.
Dr Pepper made a substitute!

The sandstorm rages.
Dr Pepper is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Dr Pepper lost 6% of its health.
Dr Pepper's Poison Heal restored health!
Dr Pepper restored 13% of its health.

---
Swampert again. As an educated guess, I would have to say lolxxxxx has no ghosts and he has no other tanks, except for perhaps a rock or, more likely, steel one.
Doesn’t matter much now, I’m punching this fish thingy into next week.
Now as a little insight to my outstandingly interesting private life, I would like to let you in on a little secret. Every time I click the “Focus Punch” button under a sub (while also being semi-sure that the opponent has no ghosts), I make an action of pumping a pump action shotgun.

Turn 9

CHAAAC CHICCC!

Dr Pepper is tightening its focus!
Dr Pepper used Focus Punch.

BOOOOM!

Swampert lost 54% of its health.
Swampert used Roar.
Deep33 switched in Brobat (lvl 100 Crobat).
Pointed stones dug into Brobat.
Brobat lost 25% of its health.

The sandstorm rages.
Brobat is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Brobat lost 6% of its health.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

---
Well, this isn’t very good. (Although it was somewhat predictable) I absolutely love my Crobat and he has brought me back from down 2 to win and I would like to see Swampert under 40% for the good crisp KO with Brave Bird, but SR isn’t going anywhere fast and so far, Breloom, the only member of his team that Crobat can be considered as a hard counter for, is already out of commission. Let’s hope he skimped on the evs a little shall we?
Do or die Brobat!

Turn 10

[pimg]169[/pimg] 69% vs. [pimg]260[/pimg] 52%
Brobat used Brave Bird.
Swampert lost 51% of its health.
Brobat was hit by recoil!
Brobat lost 22% of its health.
Swampert used Ice Beam.
It's super effective!
Brobat lost 47% of its health.

The sandstorm rages.
Brobat is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Brobat lost 6% of its health.

Deep33's Brobat fainted.

Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

---
Well both moves did either less than I hoped (Brobat) or less than I thought (Swampert). And my beloved Brobat dies to the hand of its teammates Sand storm. Oh well, time to do what we probably should have done in the first place. I have a certain surprise that is basically a worry free kill.

Turn 11

Deep33 switched in Stoner (lvl 100 Gengar).

Pointed stones dug into Stoner.
Stoner lost 12% of its health.

[pimg]94[/pimg] 88% vs. [pimg]260[/pimg] 7% 5-6 (lolxxxxx)
Stoner used Giga Drain.
It's super effective!
Swampert lost 96% of its health.
lolxxxxx's Swampert fainted.

Stoner absorbed health!
Stoner restored 6% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
Stoner is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Stoner lost 6% of its health.

---
Yes. Giga Drain on Gengar. Don’t say it’s not a good move because:
1. No one expects it. (If you do, you’ve probably faced me)
2. It’s the best Swampert killer I’ve ever seen. (I’ve never seen an opponent switch out a Swampert when a Gengar comes in unless it’s choiced into EQ)
3. The other 3 moves have imunities. I hate chasing around ground, ghost, and normal-types while I rack up Sandstorm damage.
Now. I expect 1 of 3 things. Blissey, who I can do nothing to, but Breloom will do fine. Scizor, who will either pursuit or bullet and then eventually end up as some weird melted bug thing after a HP fire from Magnezone.

Or Tyranitar.

Turn 12

lolxxxxx switched in Tyranitar (lvl 100 Tyranitar).
[pimg]94[/pimg] 88% vs. [pimg]248[/pimg] 100% 5-5

Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!

[COLOR="Dark Green"]asianmessi10 has left the room.[/COLOR]

Stoner used Focus Blast.
Stoner's attack missed!
Tyranitar used Crunch.
It's super effective!
Stoner lost 170% of its health.
Deep33's Stoner fainted.

The sandstorm rages.
---
BWAAH. GWAH. @#$%ing focus blast! I seriously have you for practically this reason alone! And you fail me! Oh well. Gengar is my go to guy when I need death fodder anyway.

lolxxxxx: LOL
Deep33: haha yeah great

Regroup. Hippowdon can take hits pretty well and he hasn’t been hit nearly enough this match. Maybe my opponent will give me the satisfaction of revenging my friend Gengar with an Earthquake, rather than switching to a certain metal bird that is sure to want more spikes up.

Turn 13

Deep33 switched in Fatty (lvl 100 Hippowdon).

Fatty's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
Fatty was hurt by Spikes!
Fatty lost 12% of its health.
Pointed stones dug into Fatty.
Fatty lost 6% of its health.

Turn 14

lolxxxxx switched in Skarmory (lvl 100 Skarmory).
[pimg]455[/pimg] 88% vs. [pimg]227[/pimg] 100% 4-5 (lolxxxxx)
Fatty used Earthquake.
It doesn't affect Skarmory...

The sandstorm rages.
Fatty's leftovers restored its health a little!
Fatty restored 6% of its health.

---
O.o (pretend like that smaller eye is twitching)
As I compliment myself over and over again on my brilliant prediction, I confirm that, indeed, Stone Edge will do pathetic damage.

Turn 15

Skarmory used Spikes.
Spikes were scattered around the foe's team!
Fatty used Stone Edge.
Skarmory lost 16% of its health.

The sandstorm rages.
Fatty's leftovers restored its health a little!
Fatty restored 6% of its health.

---
Calm down. Really think things through. (Talking to myself) You knew a 0 EV Stone Edge would be lucky to do 20%, you really should have just brought in Magnezone right away to save one layer of spikes.
I have a good chance to win this still as long as I make good decisions.
I am such a good pep talker, right?
Something is nagging me though, because I still don’t know 2 members of lol’s team and I’m getting more and more worried that one of them is a late game boosting sweeper.

Turn 16
Deep33 switched in Hi (lvl 100 Magnezone).
It's Hidden Power Type is Fire.

Hi was hurt by Spikes!
Hi lost 19% of its health.
Pointed stones dug into Hi.
Hi lost 6% of its health.

[pimg]467[/pimg] 75% vs. [pimg]227[/pimg] 83%
Skarmory used Spikes.
Spikes were scattered around the foe's team!

The sandstorm rages.
Hi's leftovers restored its health a little!
Hi restored 6% of its health.

---
There we go, as Skarmory finishes up his job, Magnezone pulls in to hit whatever will replace him for major damage (Unless its Blissey, but at this point I seriously doubt he has it… or something that is immune)

–Pictures Electivire, shudders –

Turn 17

lolxxxxx switched in Heatran (lvl 100 Heatran).
Hi used Thunderbolt.
Heatran lost 60% of its health.

The sandstorm rages.
Hi's leftovers restored its health a little!
Hi restored 6% of its health.

---
Yippie! A nice chuck of Heatran’s health got peeled away by my Thunderbolt. And to think I almost used HP fire on the expected Electivire switch. I’ll Protect to scout, and yes I run protect for this exact purpose. I am lucky that I haven’t revealed my rapid spinner yet, because he’s sure to flame me and then I can bust lol’s balls with a little Tenta action.

[pimg]467[/pimg] 81% vs. [pimg]490[/pimg] 40%
Turn 18

Hi used Protect.
Hi protected itself!
Heatran used Flamethrower.
Hi protected itself!

The sandstorm rages.
Hi's leftovers restored its health a little!
Hi restored 6% of its health.

---
Muahaha. Perfect. And flamethrower too. I’m sure to survive it twice and follow with the Surf kill and then get these hazards out my way.

Turn 19

Deep33 switched in Ball Breaker (lvl 100 Tentacruel).

It's Hidden Power Type is Electric.
Ball Breaker was hurt by Spikes!
Ball Breaker lost 25% of its health.
Pointed stones dug into Ball Breaker.
Ball Breaker lost 12% of its health.

[pimg]73[/pimg] 63% vs. [pimg]490[/pimg] 40%
Heatran used Flamethrower.
It's not very effective...
Ball Breaker lost 21% of its health.
Ball Breaker was burned!

The sandstorm rages.
Ball Breaker is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Ball Breaker lost 6% of its health.
Ball Breaker's leftovers restored its health a little!
Ball Breaker restored 6% of its health.
Ball Breaker was hurt by its burn!
Ball Breaker lost 12% of its health.

---
Yikes! I forgot how much all those spikes will end up doing. I’m really glad I didn’t go with HP fire now. But alas, Burn. My poor jellyfish will not be long for this world now. Time to swim Heatran. I need you dead. So please! Don’t. Switch. To. Breloom!

Turn 20

Heatran used Flamethrower.
It's not very effective...
Ball Breaker lost 22% of its health.
Ball Breaker used Surf.
It's super effective!
Heatran lost 59% of its health.
lolxxxxx's Heatran fainted.

Deep33's Ball Breaker fainted.
---
And with that double faint I need to make an unfortunate uninformed switch. Well, Magnezone can’t trap Skarmory so I guess he’s the most expendible now. If it’s a match up that is slower, I can explode. If they are faster, I’ll scout, then probably die.

Turn 21

lolxxxxx switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor).
Deep33 switched in Hi (lvl 100 Magnezone).
It's Hidden Power Type is Fire.

Hi was hurt by Spikes!
Hi lost 25% of its health.
Pointed stones dug into Hi.
Hi lost 6% of its health.

[pimg]467[/pimg] 50% vs. [pimg]212[/pimg] 100% 3-4 (lolxxxxx)
Hi used Protect.
Hi protected itself!
Scizor used Superpower.
Hi protected itself!

The sandstorm rages.
Hi's leftovers restored its health a little!
Hi restored 6% of its health.

---
Oh happy day! Oh happy day! It’s a Scizor! I am so in this game. (I still Protect on most Scizor to get leftover recovery) Time to make Scizor wish Skarmory could share a little shed shell with it. Eat HP fire!

Turn 22
Hi used Hidden Power.
It's super effective!
Scizor lost 123% of its health.
lolxxxxx's Scizor fainted.

The sandstorm rages.
Hi's leftovers restored its health a little!
Hi restored 6% of its health.

---
Scizor like? I expect not!

lolxxxxx switched in Breloom (lvl 100 Breloom).

Although I can understand that his Breloom is out of commission, I can’t really explain either of the times Breloom has come in. It would have been better death fodder both previously and I’m sure in the future. Now it’s just letting me set up. Stay asleep Breloom. Let the best soft drink on earth beat you down with a little Sub Punch.

Turn 23

Deep33 switched in Dr Pepper (lvl 100 Breloom).

Dr Pepper was hurt by Spikes!
Dr Pepper lost 25% of its health.
Pointed stones dug into Dr Pepper.
Dr Pepper lost 6% of its health.

[pimg]286[/pimg] 38% vs. [pimg]286[/pimg] 94% 3-3
Breloom is fast asleep!

---
Ouch, hazards again. Why Tentacruel? Why?
I guess it’s Substitute time.

Turn 24

lolxxxxx switched in Skarmory (lvl 100 Skarmory).
[pimg]286[/pimg] 45% vs. [pimg]227[/pimg] 83%

---
Yeah Skarmory. You and I are getting to be best buds aren’t we! Why didn’t you just bring your lefties like every other Skarm on PE so I could have killed you? I can guess now that lolxxxxx is just trying to burn sleep clock.
No matter. A Roar is inevitable, but only as inevitable as the severe dent in your armor.

Turn 25

Dr Pepper is tightening its focus!
Dr Pepper used Focus Punch.
Skarmory lost 57% of its health.
Skarmory used Whirlwind.
Deep33 switched in Fatty (lvl 100 Hippowdon).

Fatty's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
Fatty was hurt by Spikes!
Fatty lost 25% of its health.
Pointed stones dug into Fatty.
Fatty lost 6% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
Fatty's leftovers restored its health a little!
Fatty restored 6% of its health.

---
I’m getting worried now. I need Magnezone to be Whirlwinded in soon so I can kill him. Hazards are winning this match for him for sure now. And to top it off, I’m been so busy countering his hazard layers that I haven’t gotten my own up.
Whirlwind is working for Skarmory, so I don’t see a reason for him to stop. I can barely touch him with Stone Edge so why not set up rocks. Better now than never right?

nayan has entered the room.

Turn 26
[pimg]455[/pimg] 75% vs. [pimg]227[/pimg] 26%
Skarmory used Roost.
Skarmory restored 50% of its health.
Fatty used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around the foe's team!

The sandstorm rages.
Fatty's leftovers restored its health a little!
Fatty restored 6% of its health.

---
Oh Roost. That’s pleasant. Stone Edge would have done a wonderful 9% anyway.
I could Slack Off my damage, but it’s not really needed. I have begun to suspect that it is a CB T-tar so I should be able to “Out heal” him, so to say…
… unless he has Ice punch.
I stare at Fatty’s moves. Each seems as useless as the next and switching is even worse. Going EQ, I beg Skarmory to be greedy and go full for full health.

nayan: lol

Turn 27
[pimg]455[/pimg] 81% vs. [pimg]227[/pimg] 76%
Fatty used Earthquake.
It doesn't affect Skarmory...

Hi lost 6% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
Hi's leftovers restored its health a little!
Hi restored 6% of its health.

---
No such luck on the EQ, but my switch brings me hope.
For it is Magnezone in the eleventh hour!
Hi’s Thunderbolt will do pretty major damage to Tyranitar, KO Skarm, and I haven’t done any calculations but I expect that it would also KO his Breloom after the SR damage.
I think we all know who’s taking this one to the face…

Turn 28
[pimg]467[/pimg] 31% vs. [pimg]227[/pimg] 76%
Hi used Thunderbolt.
It's super effective!
Skarmory lost 119% of its health.
lolxxxxx's Skarmory fainted.

The sandstorm rages.
Hi's leftovers restored its health a little!
Hi restored 6% of its health.

---
Cooked chicken anyone?

Turn 29

lolxxxxx switched in Tyranitar (lvl 100 Tyranitar).

Here he is. The last competitive enemy. I can’t say for sure which set he’s running. He’s not scarfed; that’s all I know. And I guess I know he has Crunch. I have an inkling T-Tar is banded if only for the reason that he doesn’t have his own Magnezone to help eliminate certain steels that would make setting up difficult.

So here’s end game.
Breloom is dead. Both of ours, and for different reasons, but dead either way.
I’ll scout with Protect. If it is anything CB but Aqua Tail, I’ve probably got a win.
If he’s Boah, Magnezone will break the Sub before the Punch and Fatty can keep his Sub from coming back up.
If he dances, things could get sketchy for me, but Fatty can still probably take anything +1 bar an aqua tail, which exists I’m sure, but I’ve never seen it on the PE server.

Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!

Pointed stones dug into Tyranitar.
Tyranitar lost 12% of its health.

Damn. Fearing the worst, I give my opponent the Good Game.

Deep33: crap
Deep33: lol
Deep33: thats probably gg

Turn 30
[pimg]467[/pimg] 43% vs. [pimg]248[/pimg] 88%
Tyranitar used Fire Punch.
It's super effective!
Hi lost 80% of its health.
Deep33's Hi fainted.

The sandstorm rages.
---
At least it’s Fire Punch over Aqua Tail. I think it’s time to see what your Crunch can do to Hippowdon. I’ll Slack off during the first attack and check the damage. I should be safe unless he manages to get a crit on me.

Turn 31

Deep33 switched in Fatty (lvl 100 Hippowdon).

Fatty's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
Fatty was hurt by Spikes!
Fatty lost 25% of its health.

Fatty restored 50% of its health.

The sandstorm rages.
Fatty's leftovers restored its health a little!
Fatty restored 6% of its health.

---
Oh I’m sorry, did you bite me or something Tyranitar? You’ll have to do better than that. I’m pleasantly surprised with my Fatty’s bulk. With only 35% coming from +1, he can’t even 2HKO me at +2. Meanwhile, I’m sure my EQ will 2HKO at the very least.
I doubt he will dance again, I think he knows he lost and a crit is the only way he’ll win this.

Turn 32
[pimg]455[/pimg] 71% vs. [pimg]248[/pimg] 88%
Tyranitar used Dragon Dance.
Tyranitar's attack was raised.
Tyranitar's speed was raised.
Fatty used Slack Off.
Fatty restored 50% of its health.

The sandstorm rages.
---
Fine and dandy. I’m at 100% and I’ll EQ him twice for the win. (I guess his Breloom could still a problem, but I hope EQ will 2HKO after SR and sandstorm damage)
Fatty you did it again!

Turn 33
[pimg]455[/pimg] 100% vs. [pimg]248[/pimg] 88%
Tyranitar used Crunch.
Fatty lost 46% of its health.
Fatty's defence was lowered.

Deep33: lol
lolxxxxx: xD
lolxxxxx: i still duno who will win
Deep33: crunch will ko now
Deep33: bre will die on entry
Deep33: you win

My chat says it all. Either my opponent is very humble or he didn’t notice the Defense drop even after I mentioned it.
We good game and I click EQ knowing that at +3 Crunch will always 2HKO.

nayan has left the room.

Oh. Sorry for putting it in the wrong place. Like I said, Pretty new here.

Thank you to whoever moved it for me.

Hey guys, how bout instead of flaming him for putting a good warstory in the wrong forum, you appreciate that a new member actually put in the time and effort to write a warstory, with, imo, pretty good comments which fill us in on what he's thinking?

Pretty good, you played way too conservatively with Magnezone and Hippowdon when you should have just tried to hit the Tyranitar as hard as possible regardless of what type it was, as if it was CB Aqua Tail you were screwed either way.

Other than that, good warstory!

Thank you for the comments!

Yes, I know I played poorly in the end, but that's why I said that it ends kind of anticlimactically.

And Venser, thank you for being welcoming to new members. I appreciate it. Also, awesome avatar!

(I noticed a few mistakes that I am going to edit in the story)
