Format
  • 4 vs 4 Doubles, GL B6P4
  • 96-hour DQ (once someone goes over that, I'll usually leave a VM asking them to look at it. If their recent activity is twice over the time, a straight no-warning DQ may be requested by opponent)
  • 2 Abilities (Rock GL must prioritise Solid Rock and Rock Head over other Abilities present)
  • 2/5 Recoveries/Chills
  • 7 Substitutions per round (excluding KO subs of course)
  • 1 Mega-Evolution
  • Switch = OK
  • Items = ALL
  • Turn Order = COIN-FLIP
Arena mechanics
  1. All Rock-type Pokemons gain the effects of Sticky Hold if and only if they are holding their Signature Items.
  2. All Rock-types get Solid Rock and Rock Head if they don't already have it. Solid Rock does not stack if it is already present.
  3. In Sandstorms, Rock-types gain -1 BAP from incoming Physical Attacks in addition to the original -2 BAP from Special Attacks.
  4. All defensive moves listed under Rock STAB gain +4 Priority instead of the original +1.
  5. No external rock, water, or grass sources.
  6. No seismic combos allowed.
  7. Nature Power calls Ancient Power, and Secret Power may lower Speed by one (1) stage.

Hmm we need an arena to play in...hmm how about that one over there?

*Walks into the ruins*

Hiyo! this place looks interesting. Is it ok if we use it for a battle arena pretty please<3

What? Who are you? Who let you in here?

I allowed myself in here, is there a problem?

Yes, this place is for certified researchers and historians, such as myself. Now i must ask you to leave or i will have to call security to escort you out.

Ugh, this place is fantastic for our potential Rock Gym. Welp if you want me to leave you have to catch me first!

What the..?!?? GUARDS!

*Running Montage Later*

HEY YOU! STOP! THIS IS A RESTRICTED AREA ONLY FOR HISTORIANS AND THE RESEARCHERS OF FERRUM

YOU'RE A RESTRICTED AREA, *pulls out a pokeball* SNORLAX BLOCK THE ENTRANCE!!!

Merry Christmas

I didn't come here to exercise e.e
...woah, didn't see you there

Yo, yo YO, Welcome to the Regi Ruins, some ancient ruins in the desert. Wall paintings and numerous Unown letters surround the interior of the this arena and a this place is very important to our history research team of Ferrum so let's try not to mess with too relics here alright?

To our Right we have Rock Gym Leader, Zt! Let's give him and his team a round of applause
Stratagem - Erza (U)

A swordsman wields the blade with graceful precision, just as Erza uses her attacks with dangerous beauty. She walked in on one of Gray and Natsu’s brawls, and the resulting free-for-all wore on for half a day before Zheng can subdue her with a Pokeball. Unknowingly for her, that fight left a lasting impression on the two – they’re cautious almost to the point of fearful whenever in her company since then. Wendy and Charla looks up to her as a role model, though, and it was Erza who took care of them, even though she was newer to the family.

Chargestone Cave is the hallowed ground for all of Erza's ancestry, yet she decides that she will withhold her instincts to evolve for the sake of her family. Small but close-knit, everyone looks up to Erza as the big sister, even though her quirks with boys sometimes astonished the girls and make the shy ones (like Juvia and Wendy) blush. After a series of long, drawn out clashes with Mirajane, both of them seemed to have settled to a cordial relationship, mutually agreeing to avoid mentioning the past conflicts, opting instead to look after the girls together and knock the boys down a peg or two when they get too loud.

It wasn't until the strawberry cake event that Erza finally found the courage to overcome her fear. The truth was, she was scared of shouldering her responsibility being a full-grown Stratagem, relying more and more on the rest of the family despite the lads' deferment to her leadership and skills. Resolving to do whatever it takes to protect herself and those around her, she secretly learn how to manipulate the nature from Mirajane, and the two became very fast friends. Although, Mirajane seems to have picked up some of Erza's racy quirks as well...

Nature: Modest (+1 SpA, -1 Atk)

Type:
Rock type: Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Fast Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Protect, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by 2 BAP during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Levitate
Type: Passive
This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the all seismic moves. Earth Power will have 3 less BAP. Dig and Dive can still strike a Levitating Pokemon, but only if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-type. Other Ground moves can still hit.

Ability 2: Technician
Type: Passive
This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally deal 6 or below base damage to have their base damage multiplied by 1.5. The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) damage, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2).

Ability 3: Mold Breaker (Unlocked)
Type: Passive
Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, Volt Absorb will not absorb electric attacks, Clear Body does not prevent stat-drops, etc.)

Rias Gremory, "Princess of Crimson Ruin" - Tyrantrum (F)

Rias is born to a rare family - one in which both her parents were present to take care of her. Before her, they already had a son - who grew up, evolved, and went away to stake his own territory. Being the younger "princess", Rias enjoyed all the privileges - and hardships - that her life as a future empress has to offer, before a cataclysm caused the death of herself and her whole family millions of years before the time of humans.

Being resurrected by Zheng, she is given to and named by Tanner as her Trainer, who somehow also hold another Jaw Fossil that can't be revived - probably because the piece held remnants of both her parents. It is rumoured that Rias' brother walks the earth again this same era that she does, however Rias does not know where to find him.

Evolving into her grown form, Rias still continues the search for her brother. And then she met Issei, then a young Charmander who knew nothing much about the world except the fire in his belly.... Who is just one of her "peerage" of Pokemons, each with stories of their own. She decides that it is high time she declared herself King, and she readies herself for the challenges of her very own monarchy by training relentlessly.

Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk) - caring but stern

Type:
Rock type: Rock STAB; Rias is fast on her mind to add an additional level of Priority on Protect. She also takes reduced damage from all special attacks by two (2) Base Attack Power during Sandstorm, and is immune to Sandstorm damage. Her natural magic can mold and build rocks, ignoring Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.
Dragon type: Dragon STAB; -1 BAP on incoming neutral attacks Dragon itself would resist. Her powerful will allows Thrash or Outrage to be undisrupted by oncoming damage.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Strong Jaw
Type: Passive
Rias' thick fang and massive jaws give her incredibly powerful biting attacks, increasing the BAP of all biting attacks by three (3) BAP. Full List: Bite, Crunch, Fire Fang, Ice Fang, Poison Fang, Thunder Fang.

Ability 2: Rock Head (Unlocked)
Type: Passive
Rias' body and willpower fortifies herself in battle, preventing it from taking recoil damage from moves such as Double-Edge, Flare Blitz, and Head Smash.

Vali Lucifer, "White Dragon Emperor" - Aerodactyl (M)

Born to a lineage of Aerodactyl, with lineages going back as far as time immemorial, Vali was one of the few exceptional case born with great potential. But only one of them. And so he struggled to rise far and above those before it, with the competitive spirit beyond what most would even comprehend. He would use every bit of strength at his disposal just to further his training, and to beat every strong opponent that not just stood in his way, but also those he actively seek out. Currently his long-term project involves resurrecting God to Its True Forme, and challenging it to combat.

Nature: Jolly (+15% Speed, + Accuracy, -1 SpA)

Type:
Rock Type: Dragon STAB; Thrash or Outrage will not be disrupted by oncoming damage.

Flying Type: Dragon STAB; Thrash or Outrage will not be disrupted by oncoming damage.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Rock Head
Type: Passive
The use of magic power to substitute for life force means Vali does not take recoil damage from moves such as Double-Edge, Flare Blitz, and Head Smash. (This does not prevent recoil damage from Struggle.)

Ability 2: Pressure
Type: Passive
Vali's lineage and raw power means his presence fills the air with intense anxiety, and any damaging or status attack launched at him would cost the his opponents two (2) more energy to perform without sufficient will to overcome his.

Ability 3: Unnerve (Hidden)
Type: Passive
The Pokemon's presence causes immense tension in the opponent, preventing them from eating a held Berry. Natural Gift may still be used.

Ability 4: Tough Claws (Mega-Evo only)
Type: Toggle
Vali infuses his magic power to enhance the power of all of its contact attacks by two (2) BAP.

Ability 2: Shell Armour
Type: Passive
Omastar's thick, bony outer shell prevents it from taking critical hits.

Ability 3: Weak Armour (locked)

Right when I didn't bring Armaldo for that 4x weakness.... Also, Aggron not swole enough, my foot.

"Best fights are always against the strongest opponents-"

"-because that's when we go all in."
Vali Lucifer (Aerodactyl @ Rock Head & Pressure w/ Aerodactylite) and Gogmagog's Left Arm (Omastar @ Swift Swim & Shell Armour w/ Helix Fossil).

Sticky Hold activated, Tough Claws standing by to replace Pressure when Aerodactyl Mega-Evolves.

Trying to remember that everyone's abilities are modified will be tedious.

Grandeur @ Mystic Water and Rosey @ Rare Candy
Grandeur
will use Cute Charm and Competitive as her abilities.

I'm allowed seven substitutions as I see fit between both of my battlers? Let's see...

Grandeur - Surf | Surf | Surf
IF
any enemy is under the effects of Wide Guard when you would use Surf, THEN perform Scald (Vali Lucifer) on that action.
IF Vali Lucifer is to perform Torment targeting you AND you are not Taunted AND Vali Lucifer did not successfully use Torment on the previous action, THEN perform Magic Coat.

Rosey - Energy Ball (Left Arm) | Giga Drain (Left Arm) | Energy Ball (Left Arm)
IF Vali Lucifer is to perform Sky Attack, THEN perform Pin Missile (Vali Lucifer) that action and restart main actions.
IF Vali Lucifer is to perform a Damage Evasive move that targets you, THEN perform Counter that action and restart main actions.
IF Vali Lucifer is in the middle of Bide, THEN perform Disable (Vali Lucifer, Bide) only once and restart main actions.
IF Left Arm is in the middle of Bide, THEN perform Disable (Left Arm, Bide) only once and restart main actions.
IF Vali Lucifer is to perform Taunt on you, THEN perform Protect only once and restart main actions.

Aerodactyl's Sky Drop should cause Cacturne's attacks to redirect towards Aerodactyl, IIRC, which is the fairest.

"Your opponent is me, Rosey."
Vali Lucifer (Aerodactyl @ Rock Head & Pressure w/ Aerodactylite): [Mega-Evolve] Sky Drop > Sky Drop > Fire Fang, all @ Rosey-Cacturne
IF Rosey-Cacturne has 15 HP or less, THEN replace that action with Rock Slide instead.

Gogmagog's Left Arm (Omastar @ Swift Swim & Shell Armour w/ Helix Fossil): Knock Off (Grandeur-Milotic) > Ice Beam + Ice Beam {Freeze Ribbon!!} (Rosey-Cacturne) > combo cooldown (Ice Beam @ Rosey Cacturne)

And we're off! Rosey had a plan to use Gogmagog's Left Arm's weakness against him, but Gogmagog's Right Arm had other plans. G's Right Arm takes the Cacturne into the skies and were never seen again. G's Left Arm knocks off Grandeur's Mystic Water, making her surfs weaker than they would have been. Before the next set of actions take place, we see G's Left Arm coming down from the skies and dropping Rosey who takes major damage from the fall.
G's Left Arm, once agains disrupts Rosey's Plans and takes her back to the skies, probably won't be seen until later in the round. G's Left Arm focuses on Rosey's weakness and shoots a beam that skates through the sky, frost crystals swirls around the beam making it look like a ribbon. Milotic continue to surf and only was able to attack one target due to everyone else being in the air. while in the air, Rosey was able to drain some hp from G's Right Arm and recover from the previous Sky Drop. Then she braces herself when the Aerodactyl throws her into the ground at high speeds.
ONCE AGAI- wait G's Right arm decided to make some rocks slide, causing Rosey to KO and Grandeur to take some decent damage, but doing that made the Aerodactyl realize how cute the Milotic is and is now severely infatuated.

Losing One mon already, how will Lou recover from this situation?

You don't roll Cute Charm for Rock Slide, a non-contact move.

That's what I get for thinking Sky Drop is a damaging evasive move, I suppose! Remember to do your homework, kids.

Duskdale @ Rare Candy

There's not much we can do with this on second order, or so it would seem. Your move!

Let's swing this back around, then! It's like we never lost any momentum at all.

Grandeur - Mirror Coat | Mirror Coat | Ice Beam (Right Arm)
IF Duskdale flunches on action 2, THEN perform Mirror Coat + Mirror Coat action 3 instead.

Duskdale - Dig
(Right Arm) | Dig (Right Arm) | Encore (Vali Lucifer)
IF you flinch action 2, THEN switch actions 2 and 3.

Beginning of the round, Vali, as usual, outspeeds everyone and attacks Duskdale. If only Duskdale was faster, he could dig away and avoid both Vali's and G's Right Arm! Zt predicted such act and tells the Cradily to target Grandeur instead, but it went just has Lou had plan. Grandeur uses Mirror Coat, reflecting back G's Right Arm attack and a lot stronger than when G's Right Arm did it.
Next we see Vali attacking Duskdale again but this time trying to freeze or flinch the Colossoil, never had worked so Duskdale continues to dig attempting to avoid G's Right Arm. We see how to next part goes so let's move on to the next action.
This was interesting... Vali attacks Duskdale again with the same move he used at the beginning of the round (Geez do you have a grudge against Colossoils or something, this is becoming abuse >3>) but instead of digging, Duskdale encores Vali to Aqua Tail again! Is this some kind of taunt? Anyways, Grandeur was getting tired (literately) of using Mirror Coat, so she Ice Beams the Cradily will it freeze? Nope, G's Right Arm shrugs off the ice and was finally able to Giga Drain her actual target.

oh shit, this exists

I suppose that will have to do. Let's make a play while we can! If it hits!

Grandeur - Blizzard + Ice Beam | Cooldown (Chill) | Chill

Duskdale - Fake Out + Fake Out
(Right Arm) | Cooldown (U-turn Right Arm) | U-turn (Right Arm)
IF Right Arm is using Protect + Barrier, THEN Aqua Tail + Aqua Tail (Vali Lucifer)
[KO] IF Right Arm is KO'd, THEN redirect to Vali Lucifer.

Fake Out + Fake Out is +6 priority, and Grandeur isn't going down to two Aqua Tails and a Sky Attack (although an SA + SA combo would do it, at the cost of leaving Duskdale alive). Even so, I can't believe I'm in seriousness using two combos ordering first.

Had Lou press his advantage with Milotic A3 with a Water-STAB and a KO Sub instead of Chilling, I would've been in a much worse position, forcing my Aerodactyl to use Fly just to avoid being KO'ed. As it is, a choice between a 22 HP Aerodactyl and a 16 HP Cradily, is already ew. My bad for not subbing Mirror Coat.

"Now this is what I'd call a good fight!"
Vali Lucifer (Aerodactyl @ Rock Head & Pressure w/ Aerodactylite): Aqua Tail (Duskdale-Colossoil) > Aqua Tail (Duskdale-Colossoil) > Ice Fang (Duskdale-Colossoil)
IF Duskdale-Colossoil is KO'ed, THEN replace the remaining action queue with Roost Taunt (Grandeur-Milotic) > Chill > Roost instead.

Gogmagog's Right Arm (Cradily @ Suction Cups & Storm Drain w/ Root Fossil): Grass Knot > Giga Drain > Giga Drain, all @ Duskdale-Colossoil
IF Duskdale-Colossoil is KO'ed, THEN replace the redirect towards Grandeur-Milotic instead.

This round begins with Vali Aqu- wait no. Duskdale Surprised all of us with such speed and Smacked G's Right Arm so hard it stunned him, making him unable to perform an action this action. After that, Grandeur also uses a special move, The snowy blast Spread towards Zt's pokemon, making this arena make snow fall. Such blast was so beautiful, it KO'd G's Right Arm from such beauty.
As Vali was round, he continues to aqua tail Duskdale and KOing the Colossoil, even if he wasn't encored, he probably would of attacked Duskdale just for revenge. Grandeur needed to cool down from performing such a glamorous attack.
This last action was just a recovery from both remaining pokemon, Aerodactyl recovering hp while Milotic recoving EN.

The challenger is still down by 1 but he got rid of the leader's most value pokemon who also has to order first. Will the next round determine who will take the victory? Find out next on Total Drama Island.

Yes, right. I also saw Dogfish approve your Aggronite right when you died to the dragon. For the 57th time. Anyway, lesson learned: KNOW THY MONS. If only I Taunted Milotic last round, 8 EN would have made a much bigger difference..... Also, I'm ordering based on the assumption that Mega-Aggron has Sturdy / Filter, or Heavy Metal / Filter. Make up your mind which.

"Right down. Weapons system back online. Objective: terminate with extreme prejudice."
Gogmagog's Left Arm (Omastar @ Swift Swim & Shell Armour w/ Helix Fossil) coming back in.

Vali Lucifer (Aerodactyl @ Rock Head & Pressure w/ Aerodactylite): Taunt (Grandeur-Milotic) > Reflect > Rock Slide, all @ Rosey-Cacturne
IF Grandeur-Milotic is under the effects of Protective/Evasive moves when being targeted with Taunt, THEN replace the first instance with Reflect and subsequent instances with Rock Slide instead, pushing remaining queue back.
IF Grandeur-Milotic is under the effects of Magic Coat when being targeted with Taunt, THEN replace Taunt with Rock Slide instead, pushing remaining queue back.
IF Grandeur-Milotic would use Endure A1, THEN replace A1 with Reflect and A2 with Taunt @ Grandeur-Milotic instead.

Gogmagog's Left Arm (Omastar @ Swift Swim & Shell Armour w/ Helix Fossil): Muddy Water > Muddy Water > Muddy Water
IF both Grandeur-Milotic AND Ozzy-Aggron would use Protective/Evasive moves, THEN replace that move with Iron Defense instead.
IF Gogmagog's Left Arm is being targeted with a non-combo Heavy Slam by Ozzy-Aggron AND Ozzy-Aggron is slower, THEN replace that action with Dive @ Ozzy-Aggron instead.
IF Gogmagog's Left Arm is being targeted with a non-combo Superpower by Ozzy-Aggron AND Ozzy-Aggron is slower, THEN replace that action with Dive @ Ozzy-Aggron instead.
IF Ozzy-Aggron would use Metal Burst, THEN replace that action with Ancient Power @ Grandeur-Milotic instead.

Grandeur - Scald (Vali Lucifer) | Hydro Pump (Vali Lucifer) | Scald (Vali Lucifer)

Vali at the beginning around said he wasn't going to deal with any of Grandeur's trickery, so he Taunt her at the very beginning of the round. Our God, Helix, splashes water around, and use the sand on the ground and directed all the muddy water towards his opponents. After the mud wave has cleared, Lou's pokemon vision were still very clear and were able to target Vali. Milotic was very pissed off from Vali's taunt, so she left him a nice burn to remember...which he doesn't because that burn KOs the Aerodactyl.
Next we see that Lord Helix uses the same attack, since the ground was already muddy, it will make it easier to cause his opponents to have accuracy issues, example given: Grandeur misses Hydro Pump. the Aggron continues Slamming Heavily on G's Left Arm.
Last but not least the Omastar uses the same attack, but nobody lost sight, other than the already troubled Milotic who misses SCALD. Again, Ozzy continues Heavy Slaming Lord Helix
