move 2: Aerial Ace

move 4: Brick Break / Bug Bite
ability: Technician
item: Choice Scarf

nature: Jolly

Moves
========

U-turn is great for gaining momentum because Scyther can threaten out common Pokemon such as Malamar, Sawk, and Mesprit and U-turn into a teammate that has a more favorable matchup against the opponent's switch-in. Aerial Ace hits extremely hard with STAB and a Technician boost and is only resisted by Electric-, Rock-, and Steel-type Pokemon, making it the move of choice for cleaning up weakened teams late-game. Knock Off gives Scyther a way to hit opposing Steel-type Pokemon neutrally while removing their item; it's also nice for nabbing surprise KOs on Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Rotom. Brick Break lets Scyther hit Steel-type Pokemon such as Klinklang and Probopass for super effective damage, but it's very weak and should only be used in dire situations. Bug Bite gives Scyther another spammable STAB move late-game and gives it a Bug-type attack that doesn't require switching out. Quick Attack can nab KOs on frail setup sweepers and weakened threats that can get out of hand late-game. Pursuit is a more niche option to deal damage to fleeing Psychic- and Ghost-type Pokemon such as Mesprit and Mismagius.

Set Details
========

Technician allows Scyther to make the best use of its movepool, boosting the power of moves such as Bug Bite, Aerial Ace, and Pursuit, which would otherwise have extremely low Base Power. Maximum Attack and Speed investment lets Scyther take advantage of its high Attack stat and great Speed tier. Choice Scarf further boosts Scyther's Speed stat and makes it a formidable revenge killer that outspeeds threats such as Ludicolo in rain, +1 Lilligant, and Choice Scarf Jynx and Rotom.

Usage Tips
========

Scyther should primarily be used as a revenge killer. Thanks to its Choice Scarf, extremely high Speed stat, and threatening STAB combination, Scyther can pick off fast threats such as Typhlosion, Swellow, and Lilligant with ease. By virtue of a nice 4x resistance, Scyther can switch into Pokemon that are Choice-locked into Fighting- or Grass-type moves such as Close Combat and Leaf Storm; however, watch out for Fighting-types without Choice items, such as Gurdurr and Hariyama, as losing Choice Scarf via Knock Off prevents Scyther from revenge killing faster Pokemon. U-turn should be used on extremely weak Pokemon that are in KO range and in matchups where it is clear that the foe cannot risk staying in on Scyther. Use Aerial Ace to hit Fighting-type Pokemon that U-turn cannot KO, or when the opposing team has been rid of Electric-, Rock-, and Steel-type Pokemon. Surprise common Choice Scarf users such as Rotom and Mesprit with Knock Off and U-turn, respectively, to give your team an early advantage. Whenever possible, clear the field of Stealth Rock before switching Scyther in, as losing 50% of its maximum HP can hinder its ability to deal with setup sweepers. Be sure to keep Scyther away from status conditions.

Team Options
========

Defog and Rapid Spin users such as Prinplup, Mantine, Claydol, Sandslash, and Cryogonal can clear the field of Stealth Rock for Scyther. Magnet Pull Probopass can trap Steel-type Pokemon that give Scyther trouble, such as Mawile and Klinklang. Scyther appreciates Pokemon that can take Electric-, Fire-, Flying-, Rock-, and Ice-type attacks for it. Lanturn deserves a special mention here, as it only misses out on the Rock-type resistance. U-turn and Volt Switch users such as Xatu, Mesprit, Lanturn, and Rotom can pair with Scyther to form a VoltTurn core. Fighting- and Ground-type Pokemon are great partners because they resist Rock-type attacks and can use their super effective STAB moves to deal with Steel-type Pokemon that plague Scyther. Powerful wallbreakers such as Typhlosion and Sawk can break down opposing teams and give Scyther the ability to clean up late-game.

Run Away With Me
One day a lowly Canadian who's taking a break from daily mons stumbles upon the forums. While scrolling through his old stomping grounds of the QC sub-forum, he pauses. He hears a voice..
"SOMEONE PLEASE QC ME", a nearby user exclaims!
The heroic Canadian whips around, and spots none other than his old partner-in-crime, Kiyo!
"Sure, I'll be happy to give you a quick QC, friend", he says, smiling (as that's what nice Canadians do when they speak).

kiyo pls

In all seriousness, be sure to list in set details what boosted threats that Scarf Scyther outspeeds, most notably Modest Ludicolo in the rain (which is pretty hard to revenge kill) as well as other stuff like +1 Lilligant, Scarf Jynx, Scarf Rotom, etc. The former is probably the only reason I'd ever use Scarf Scyther over SD or band. Also remove the mention of quick attack in set details where you talk about what technician boosts, as its not on the set and scarf quick attack is lol.

In usage tips, mention in some way that while you can switch into choice locked fighting types, you should be wary of switching into non-choiced ones like hariyama and gurdurr or even malamar as if you lose your scarf you cannot revenge kill the pokemon scyther is meant to.
Avoid switching Scyther into common Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp users such as Uxie, Rotom, and Weezing.
This is pretty obvious that you wouldnt switch into those Pokemon, reword this to something along the lines of "be sure to keep scyther away from status conditions".

Lastly, in team options, add a sentence about hard hitters / wallbreakers so that scyther can clean up late game, and to be frank, scarf scyther is pretty weak.

Thank you for getting off your ass and writing this up, nice work.

Do all of this and you're good to go.

Scyther should primarily be used as a revenge killer. Thanks to its Choice Scarf, extremely high Speed stat, and threatening dual STAB move combination, Scyther can pick off fast threats such as Typhlosion, Swellow, and Lilligant with ease. If so, then mention it) prevents Scyther from revenge killing faster Pokemon. U-turn should be used on extremely weak Pokemon that are in KO range and in matchups where it is clear that the opponent foe (I guess the opposing Pokemon is the one staying in as opposed to the opposing player) cannot risk staying in on Scyther. Aerial Ace should be used to hit Fighting-type Pokemon that U-turn cannot KO, or when the opposing team has been rid of Electric-, Rock-, and Steel-type Pokemon.
