Gerard's Gardevoir
Katherine (Gardevoir) {♀}
Nature: Bold (+1 Def, -1 Atk)
Type: Psychic / Fairy

  • Psychic STAB; Can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-Type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.

  • Fairy STAB; -1 EN on non-Fairy Typed Nature, Sound, and Scent moves (Stacks with second STAB where applicable). (Nature Power, Natural Gift; Sound Moves; Aromatherapy, Odor Sleuth, Sweet Scent)
Abilities: Synchronize / Trace / Telepathy (H) / Pixilate (M)
  • Synchronize: (Passive) Pokemon with this ability mentally link their condition to an opposing Pokemon and pass on any status inflicted on them to their foe. Due to their body structure, Poison-Types cannot be poisoned, Fire-Types cannot be burned & Electric-Types cannot be paralyzed in this manner.

  • Trace: (Trigger) When entering into battle, this Pokemon can copy an ability on one of its opponents for 6 EN. This effect only triggers if the ability to be copied is specified when the Pokemon is sent out. The ability remains on the Pokemon for six (6) actions. Wonder Guard cannot be Traced.

  • Telepathy: (Passive) This Pokemon has a mental link with its allies in multiple battles, which allows it to avoid taking damage from allied attacks that damage each foe or the entire field like Blizzard and Earthquake. They are still affected by an opponents spread damage attacks.

  • Pixilate (Toggle) By default, this Pokemon's Normal-type moves are Fairy-type moves, and have an additional two (2) BAP boost. When toggled, this Pokemon's Normal-type attacks have their BAP increased by two (2). If a Pokemon has been skill-swapped multiple abilities that change Normal-type attacks, the attacks become dual-typed, but the BAP boosts of the abilities do not stack.

Texas has brought a full set of bulky, hard hitting Pokémon, including two tricksters that should make ordering second a pain. Take special attention to Katherine the Gardevoir, his Mega this round, who can hit INCREDIBLY hard thanks to Pixilate and a great SpA stat, along with pretty good offenses, and Ambrose the Pyroak, who is/was/idk broken, and has a good type matchup vs two of Golds' mons.

Well, one down, one to go, right? On the right corner, a guy that jhons in flashes:

Not being able to change formatting of profiles to place them on the right side aside, Gold actually brought a team that can fight Texas' quite well. All of his mons can deal with at least one of his opponent's ones. The problem being that the same could be said about Texas.
For his Mega, he decides to go for the counter team and chooses Heavy Head the Aggron, and ends up doing a good election (I was going to bring one, too, but couldn't find one that filled my needs). With an incredible bulk, this thing is hard to take down, and it also hits HARD with a Heavy Slam backed by STAB and that 11 weight class. And it kind of kills Gardevoir, which is probably going to be HUGE.
As for the other mon to look after, I'm going to say Togekissu the Togekiss as it beats 3/4 of Texa's team (well, vs Dragonite it's kiiiiiiiiiiind of close, but not a very comfortable match up).

And now, for who sends out first...
(<= 5000: Texas | => 5001: Gold) = 4420: Texas

Or, if you really want a coin flip...

It's a boy heads!

so...

HOW THINGS WILL HAPPEN

And yes, I'm failing at English right now. Badly. Deal with it.

Heavy Head @ Aggronite

[Mega Evolve] Heavy Slam - Head Smash - Heavy Slam
If your move is Disabled when you would act use Iron Head that action and push back.
If Gardevoir has Double Team clones up when you would act, use Earthquake on the first and third instances, and Bulldoze the second, pushing back each time.
[Once Only] If Pain Split is used and you are not taunted and Gardevoir is not set to use Encore the following action, use Protect that action and push back.

ROUND 1

Guess who forgot to Mega Evolve. Well, at least it doesn't really make a difference this round. You could have Traced Sturdy at least? idk.

Texas gets a lucky break when Heavy Head's Head Smash misses, but even then the single Heavy Slam that does hit is enough to deal a huge amount of damage to Katherine, showing why it is in such a hurry to get out of there. At least Heavy Head is now burned and wasted a lot of energy?

Texas now has to show who his second mon will be. Will G0LD take advantage of this fact? OR will Texas prove to be too good?

Iron Defense - Avalanche - Head Smash
If Heat Wave misses you a2, use Ice Punch that action.

ROUND 2

After realizing that Heavy Slam is more broken than he thought, Texas decides to switch to his trusty Behemoth, the Dragonite!

These two have a long backstory, with Behemoth being one of Texas mon and being in pretty much all of his gym fights, considered by many as his most powerful Pokémon. The incredible Dragon-

... Oh, the battle, you say? Sure, sure.

Behemoth zooms in, taking advantage of his higher speed, and shoots a Fire Blast towards the Mega Aggron. However, such haste proves to have been waste, as the fire attack misses!

Heavy Head just grins and starts glowing: it's the effect of Iron Defense, which sheds the Aggron's metal skin and gets rid of the burn! Now, THAT's gonna be useful.

After that, it's an exchange of blows: Behemoth blows a powerful Heat Wave to try and burn Heavy Head down, but the Aggronstands firm and hits back with a powerful Avalance, which deals more damage than the Heat Wave even thorugh Multiscale.

After that, the Dragonite goes for a second Fire Blast, this one at a closer distance to enure a hit. While the fire move is powerful on its own, the great defenses of the steel Mega Pokémon prove to be too much for it to deal considerable damage, and it leaves the dragon wide open for an insanely powwerful ead Smash, which equals in damage even with multiscale intact.

S0L1D G0LD is ahead in HP, and has shown to be able to outdamage even through Multiscale, and that's gone now; however, risking his low energy Mega Aggron when Mega Gardevoir is still alive could be dangerous. What will he do?

Well, stay tuned to find out!

Extreme Speed + Extreme Speed - Cooldown (Extreme Speed + Extreme Speed) - Extreme Speed
If the combo fsr wouldn't strike before protect use Extreme Speed a1.

Probably don't need the sub (I did my research it all checks out) but meh I'm paranoid sometimes lol.

(I can't blame you for that; I would've been tagging/dq'ing me if I was reffing as well. Although I would've ordered sooner though but yesterday slipped away from me really.)

Ice Punch - Rock Slide - Ice Punch

If Dragonite uses Counter, Chill that action and push back.
If Dragonite uses Endure and Dragonite is not poisoned and Dragonite is not under the effects of Safeguard, use Toxic that action and push back.
[ONCE] If Dragonite used Bide, start action chain Chill - Thunder Wave - Ice Punch.

K guess I wasn't supposed to win. Oh well, it would only work without hax anyway

Chill*3

Rather disappointing that MAggron channeled Skymin this battle, enjoy the rest of the tournament and here's hoping Frosty can find a way to make things less matchup dependent
