Two trainers walk into the Phenac Colosseum in the Orre region. They meet in the middle and agree on a 2 on 2 doubles match. With that they walk to opposite sides, and send out their Pokemon. shinyskarmory chooses a Kirlia and Riolu named Mentalist and Goku. While TheWolfe goes with a Grovyle and Nohface named Meliadoul and Hakumen.

To Start off the battle Meliadoul sets up a Safeguard to stop any status problems. Not worried about the Safeguard, Mentalist lets loose a Psychic, dealing some good damage. While being protected from any status condition, Hakumen decides to inflict one on his opponent Goku, with Will-O-Wisp. But the little Riolu uses Quick Attack to get into the water surrounding the arena at the last second.

After blocking status conditions Meliadoul decides to heal himself over time, Leech Seed Metalist, and hits her mark. Mentalist, wanting to show hes no push over, fires off a Bolt of Thunder on Hakumen. Goku decides to use Foresight to be able to hit Hakumen with any move. Hakumen, done with being picked on by both opponents this round gets back by using Faint Attack on Mentalist.

Wanting to finish with a bang, Meliadoul unleashes a Storm of Leafs on Goku, leaving her a weaken a bit. Going back to his original move, Mentalist uses Psychic on Meliadoul once again. Wanting to show He's also hiding a powerful move, Goku uses Focus Blast on Hakumen. Sick of being a punching bag, Hakumen gets Payback on Mentalist, thus ending the round.

Wow, safeguard really limits Kirlia's actions.

Riolu, your actions will be simple. Focus Blast Nohface, Blaze Kick Grovyle, Focus Blast Nohface.

Kirlia, use Psychic on Grovyle, Thunderbolt on Nohface, and Psychic on Grovyle.
Unless, of course, that nasty Nohface wants to Payback you again- then, you'll dodge using Teleport. You'll only do this once in the round, though.
 
Quick question - how come Riolu has -1 Special Defense? I don't recall using anything that lowered his SpD.

Ok I'm tired after getting up 3 days in a row at 5, but I'll try my best to do a good narrative.

To start Meliadoul Leafblades Mentalist for some decent damage. For a comeback from the attack Mentalist uses Psychic on Meliadoul. Next Goku fires off a super effective Focus Blast at Hakumen, who retailates by just Yawning in his face.

Following the pattern of last round, Mentalist uses Thunderbolt on Hakumen, hitting its mark. Next up Goku takes aim and starts to jump, while aiming a Blazing Kick at Meliadoul, who uses Agility to dodge. Hakumen then gets back at Mentalist with a Faint Attack.

Just like at the start of the round Meliadoul uses Leafblade on Mentalist. To retaliate from that attack, Mentalist uses Psychic on Meliadoul. Goku then fires off his second Focus Blast of the round aimed at Hakumen. feeling it worked well last time Hakumen once again uses Faint Attack on mentalist, thus ending the round.

Sorry for the delay and thank you both for holding off over the weekend.


Noticing that her Leech Seed is about to fall off Mentalist, Meliadoul throws more Seeds to Leech onto Goku. Seeing his opponent is wide open Mentalist uses Destiny Bond on Hakumen. Wanting to gain the upper hand, Goku uses Focus Blast yet again on Hakumen for some massive damage. Fearing this could be his very last move of the battle, Hakumen uses a super effective Faint Attack on Mentalist.

Seeing her teammate is close to fainting, Meliadoul knows she needs something to help gain the upper hand later on, so she uses Swords Dance to get an attack boost. Sensing the boosted attack of his opponent, Mentalist uses his old stand by of Psychic on Meliadoul. Seeing that he could take out one of his opponents Goku hits Hakumen with a Blaze Kick, which KO's Hakumen.

Wanting to exact revenge on her opponent, Meliadoul uses a boosted Leaf Blade on Goku. Just like his fallen opponent, Mentalist fears this could be one of the last moves he makes, so he uses Psychic yet again on Meliadoul. After taking the attack from Meliadoul, Goku decides to Counter it, dealing some massive damage in the prosess. A with that, the Round is over.

I ordered Nohface used Shadow Sneak on Kirlia, so she should be KOed last turn. This changes the outcome a fair bit so is it possible to ref last round again please?

At the start of the 4th and possibly final round, Meliadoul starts off by showing she has some circus training and uses Acrobatics, hitting the little Riolu for some super effective damage. But Goku counters with a Blaze Kick, also showing it has some super effective moves.

For her next move Meliadoul decides to heal herself while dealing damage, and uses Giga Drain, and she hits her mark. showing hes down but not out, Goku Focus's his energy and Blasts it at Meliadoul.

Seeing her opponent is severely weakened after these past rounds, Meliadoul uses Acrobatics one last time to end the Battle.
