Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

Mono-Eeeveelution versus mono-Rock, with the Eeeveelution team featuring Eeevee itself and physical Jolteon.
Mixed Jolteon*
It has Discharge as well, as seen when it uses it on Barbar... uh, Gamenodes, on turn 4.
It also features Hyper Voice Eevee, Dark Pulse Umbreon (use Foul Play or something instead), and Avalanche Glaceon.
Also, I think Roar might have been that Rhyperior's only move...
Unfortunate Body Slam para on Turn 1. Poor Gamenodes was primed to sweep otherwise.
Do either of these players even know what switching is?
Oh, and Facade on Umbreon. If that isn't being ultra-prepared I don't know what is.
(and yes I know Gamenodes is Barbaracle's Japanese name, don't shoot me)

Well, I guess I didn't notice it
Double-Edge is still terrible on Jolteon though

Speed Boost Shedinja and a Caterpie with an unknown set, and that's it

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-374792586
I decided to use the worst team known to mankind and somehow won. Granted, it was against mono-Gogoat. Also turn 0 freeze on turn 13. Using this team caused me physical pain.

Featuring Protean Durant, Focus Blast dropping Special Defense, and Huge Power Treeecko (though it never got to use it because Luxio nuked it)

Fire Punch burn on turn 1 results in forfeit

Why do people even try throwing Water-type moves at PDon?

What

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-375034955
Wow, just wow. This was pretty sad, even for AG standards. Just, wow.

Actually scratch that. This is even worse.

"Cool, it's the finals of a roomtour. Okay, this looks like a standard stall vs balance, nothing special. With tys's stallbreakers, this should be over in 100 turns, max."

.....

"Damn, the replay's not going to make it through this whole thing."

................

"Hey, at least I'm not doing anything tonight. I guess I can turn animations off to make this go faster."

...........................

"Geez, I could do my laundry while this battle's still going on."

...............

"Wow, I did all my laundry and the the battle's still going on. I guess I can work out for a bit."

...........................

"They're still going?"

.........

"Yes, make that a medium with extra cheese."

...........

*eating noises*

..........................

"Boy, I'm full. Let's re-open that battle to see how far they're at."

"What the heck? My browser just crashed!"

...

"Okay, I guess I can ask them in the OM room chat how long this lasted."

..................

"Everyone's browsers are crashing when they view this battle? How did they keep playing?"

.............

"What? They went THAT long? And they're still at it?"

.....................

"How much spare time do these people have?"

........................

"I guess I'll go to sleep. Hopefully they'll be done by tomorrow."

"Holy............ "

Yes, this really lasted that long. Yes, it was totally worth it. No, this isn't the longest battle ever, although this is probably in the top 5. (heh) Yes, we used !pick to determine the winner. Yes, this really was the finals of a roomtour. No, the Groudon didn't have Brave Bird. It had Dragon Ascent instead. No, we did not stack our teams to ensure this would happen. No, this probably wouldn't happen again if we met on ladder. I'd be sure to not sac my Steelix if that happened.[/hide][/hide]

Minun. It at least tried to be useful (NastyPass), but it got shut down by Wobbuffet. Swoobat winds up cleaning house.

Someone's Platinum in-game team, including Blizzard+Hydro Pump Vaporeon which was massive setup bait for Florges.

An interesting BP setup. PS: Pain Split does not work through subs.

A team that looks like it was made during the brief period that Honchkrow was legal in RU. It has Dark Pulse Dusknoir, though, but that's RU for you.

Someone explain to me how this one makes sense: Electric team in Type Reflector. Gravity Chansey on that team. Along with Magnet Rise Raikou (which is one thing by itself).

Tactical Luke strikes again. And it does not like to be put to sleep.

Suicide Smeargle, offensive Lugia, that Snorlax set, and more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-375294463
Suicide Smeargle, offensive Lugia, that Snorlax set, and more.
(L): Suicide Smeargle
(B): Smeargle outspeeding Lucario. And the weirdness with Speed on Mega Evolving turn can't explain it either, regular Lucario has a higher base Speed than Smeargle.
(R): Offensive Lugia, which offends me greatly
(R): Aura Sphere Mega Lucario (is this legit?)
(L): Quick Claw/Rest/Snore(nice 65 base Special Attack)/Toxic/CHARM Snorlax
(R): Pressure Ho-Oh (why not Regenerator?)
(R): Said Ho-Oh has Fire Blast. Why not Sacred Fire? It's more accurate and has a better burn chance
(L): Furfrou
(L): Ditto
(L): Pidgeot, which we will never know if it was Mega or not
(L): Ambipom
(R): Non-Mega Steelix. Even using its Mega in AG is questionable.

Shame it ended in a forfeit from right, I wanted to see what sets they were carrying. Also, left somehow won enough matches to get to about 1200 elo.

At turn 200 they were 5-5. So I'm guessing around 1k?

Well, I guess I didn't notice it

Actually scratch that. This is even worse.
(R) yheryertgrwtfwae's team: Metapod / Seviper / Shroomish / Bunnelby / Snorunt / Shuppet
(L) Double hazards Skarm is questionable.
(R) Moody Snorunt gets a turn 0 freeze... with Blizzard. And knows Double Team for some reason.
(R) Metapod knows Electroweb. Actually kind of makes sense as Metapod doesn't learn anything better. Until you realize it's Metapod, of course, and it doesn't do shit:
It's super effective! Skarmory lost 13% of its health!
(R) Bunnelby knows Brick Break...
(L) ...and Skarmory tries to outstall it by using Roost, making itself weak to the move and failing hard.
(B) Turn 13.
(R) Trying to use Hex on a non-statused Normal-type (I seriously doubt he/she predicted the switch).
(L) Confuse Ray Starmie.
(B) Shuppet spams Destiny Bond, and Starmie decides to kill it under its effects.
(R) Facade Toxic Orb Shroomish. Btw, Shroomish CAN'T have Poison Heal as an ability. It can, idk what I was thinking
(R) Decides to send Metapod in a +2 Mega Kangaskhan. Metapod barely survives Kanga's PuP and replies with the godly move String Shot.
(B) That Seviper knows Crunch and for some reason it's weak af. Meanwhile, Kangaskhan keeps on spamming PuP on a Poison-type while she's already at +6.
(R) Seviper is Frustrated. If I were Seviper, I would, too. Also, Leftovers, because Black Sludge doesn't exist apparently.

Random confession: I was yheryertgrwtfwae, and I decided to use a random number generator to select the Pokemon for my team, because I was bored. It completely fucked me over in that battle. Also, Shroomish can have Poison Heal, it's Technician that it can't have. Also, I prefer using Frustrate over return in case of Ditto.

What the hell? My brain hurts too much to talk about everything wrong with this battle.

This was quite possibly the stupidest thing I've seen in my entire life, and I've seen a lot of stupidity.

lol a mono fighting team that basically cant hit fairies, even though Primeape and Pangoro both get Gunk Shot
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/stabmons-375508243
  • Primeape throws two Thunder Punches. One crits (only 60% damage?), the other one paralyzes. Despite that double hax, Togetic claims victory.
  • "It looks bulky... Hmm, let's try Hitmonchan's boosted punch moves!"
  • Alas, Bullet Punch tickles Togetic and Hitmonchan faints.
  • "Bullet Punch doesn't do enough... Hoping that Machamp will really damage that freakin' Togetic!"
  • Heavy Slam 2HKOes Togetic, but Togetic's regeneration (thanks to Oblivion Wing) allows it to keep its health and ultimately come out victorious.
  • "Machamp is shit! At least, Throh will send that bird fairy into the ground with its throws!"
  • Unfortunately, with Seismic Toss (4HKO), Pain Split (unrealiable) and Storm Throw (4x resisted), it just asked for fainting from Togetic.
  • "Throh's attacks aren't powerful enough! Hariyama is heavier and will win!"
  • Same move, same result.
  • "F*%@ING FAIRY! PANGORO IS A BADASS PANDA AND WILL SET UP FOR VICTORY!!!"
  • Bulk Up doesn't reduce damage from Oblivion Wing (2HKO) and no sign of Gunk Shot. Togetic wins the match!
  • In summary, no Knock Off (apart from Primeape and Hitmonchan, everything else can learn that move) and Heavy Slam being the only threatening move against Togetic.

I've been messing around with a team of Blisseys with Imposter and Transform (which I've appropriately named Scout Weed Every Day XD) to find stupid things and I've found some really dumb things.

I wish I had the replays :'( Here are the things I found in today alone:

Extreme Speed/Shadow Sneak Shedinja:
Shedinja is insanely popular in BH. I've got to give credit to the guy I fought because Endeavor/Priority works really well but Extreme Speed and Shadow Sneak? You only need one of those moves.

Vacuum Wave Mega Rayquaza:
Aerilate Mega Rayquaza is insane but this one I fought had Vacuum Wave (it also had Extreme Speed :/) It was disappointingly weak and just pointless.

A crazy amount of setup Stored Power Mons:
There's just no point. I had to deal with a Lugia and Mega Mewtwo Y doing this. No matter how many Tail Glows/Cotton Guards/Cosmic Powers you set up, an imposter Chansey/Blissey or a dark type can switch in and sh*t all over your face. Plus, contrary is a way better way to set up and sweep.

Light of Ruin Mewtwo Y:

Light of Ruin looks appealing. Fairy type move, 140 base power, BUT THE RECOIL. It used it twice and the recoil+Life Orb had killed it before it even killed my Blissey. This Mega Mewtwo Y also had no Psychic move. It had Light of Ruin/Aura Sphere/Flash Cannon/Ice Beam. Seriously get a STAB move.

Moody Azumarill and Speed Boost Diggersby:
Seriously never run these without Huge Power. Nuff' said.

Ominous Wind/Moonblast/Air Slash Arceus-Ghost:
I'm guessing that with all of these weird moves its ability was Serene Grace. A haxy Arceus-Ghost? Why?

any reason for transform? If imposter doesn't work, transform wont work either (sub or illusion)

Stored Power is pretty good if you imposterproof it, like using Yveltal to improof something with Stored Power + Earth Power, or using a Flash Fire Dark to imposterproof Magma Storm + Stored Power
