Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

Atrocious whatever this is supposed to be beats bad mono-Steel
(L) Non-Moody CosmicPass Smeargle. Yes, a couple of unlucky turns and you may end up making a less-than-stellar pass. Yes, this combo is only otherwise obtainable by Lopunny, Solrock, and Lunatone. Still bad.
(R) Oh yeah, Aerial Ace is a thing on Scizor. (Not really, unless you really need to hit Volcarona for some reason.) It also has Iron Head, which is not a thing on Scizor.
(R) WHY ARE YOU ACING A ZEKROM? What is U-Turn? What is Superpower? Hell, what is Steel STAB?
(R) Tri-Attack Magneton. This isn't in-game, buddy.
(L) Politoed. What is Kyogre?
(L) Politoed sweep. That's not something you see this gen.

(L) Politoed sweep. That's not something you see this gen.
That's not something you saw last gen either. Politoed's only reason for existence in gen 5 OU was to set Rain. That was it. Its most common sets were(if I remember correctly)either defensive Scald sets or support based. Some carried Perish Song, but I don't think offensive Politoed was ever really a thing.

On topic:

Six shedinja team almost wins, thanks to (R) forgetting about stealth rock until near the last second.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-387821077
Bad OU vs bad Ubers. Bad OU has 3 potential Megas, and of the three, it's alakazam.
Alakazam beating mixed Mega Rayquaza
Mixed Dragonite sweep. Featuring Iron Head hax.

I've not posted in here for awhile. This must be rectified:'

Giga impact Slaking vs mienfoo
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/challengecup1v1-387805814
ice fang gliscore staying in on agalugg, genesect's blizzard hitting twice (said genesect also used blaze kick on scrafty), thunder+wild charge+discharge joleton, and more
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-387805391
Twineedle shellder, and shadow ball eevee, just to start off. Also, bet ya won't guess the mega!
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-387805905
using dragon pulse after draco meteor is always a great idea. shouldn't that kyogre have ice beam? also, confuse ray gengar
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/outheorymon-387810682
All those pale in comparison to this one, though. I won't even bother listing all the stupidity, but mostly LC mons with HORRIBLE sets
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-387807677
Magic bounce fail, and no contrary fail all help this slightly odd bp chain work. EDIT: calm mind+contrary lol

Mono-shuckle causes a forfeit

lol, that reminds how I actually managed to sweep with specially defensive Politoed (or at least kill 4 Pokemon on a team of cover legends) through a combo of Toxic/Protect/Scald at the start of this generation on Wifi because of how bad some people were.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388249023
Prankster Assist Liepard within a team made in a way that it only calls Spore vs Focus Blast + Quick Attack Blaziken.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388249857
4v6, with notably two Wobbuffets and Bide Shuckle on left and Sing + Blizzard Vaporeon on right.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388250079
Two Dragon Dances were enough to sweep right's team, but left went overboard and stupidly lost... to +4 SpA Mega Latios.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388254201
  • (L) Three potential Mega candidates.
  • (R) Five potential Mega candidates.
  • (R) Thunder + Blizzard (gotta love that 70% accuracy) Lopunny who tickles Mew.
  • (L) Mew passes its CM boost to... Mega Pinsir, mostly known for physical power.
  • (L&R) Lopunny using High Jump Kick on Mega Pinsir, dealing almost nothing. Meanwhile, Pinsir starts its rampage (Thrash).
  • (R) Giga Impact Diancie. Still no Mega at this point...
  • (R) Metal Claw + Drill Run Excadrill. Iron Head and EQ exist, and Mega Pinsir doesn't care about Ground moves.
  • (L) Pinsir then uses Hyper Beam. Finally passing this CM boost wsn't that useless, but Excadrill is a Steel-type and only took 28% damage.
  • (R) When Typhlosion comes in, it's time to try Drill Run, eh? No, it uses Metal Claw instead and falls to Eruption.
  • (R) Body Slam / Fire Blast / EQ / Double-Edge non-Mega Charizard. It notably triggered Typhlosion's Flash Fire (and lost over 50% of its health on the following Fire Blast) and forgot that Normal does nothing to Ghost.
  • (L) Speaking of ghosts, isn't Levitate + Balloon Gengar a little too much?
  • (R) And then the opposing Gengar uses Drain Punch on its clone before dying to Shadow Ball.
  • (L) Gengar takes risks for nothing and misses its Thunder on Mega (phew...) Gardevoir. Psychic finishes it off.
  • (L) Dewgong (who is itself silly) timely freezes Gardevoir with Blizzard and misses the next.
  • (R) Meanwhile, Gardevoir thaws out the next turn and uses Double-Edge, while it's on the verge of fainting. And then it uses (and hits) Focus Blast to KO the 7% Dewgong.
  • (L) Venusaur barely survives the incoming Psychic (4% left) and kills itself with, once again, Double Fucking Edge. Right forfeits with Gardevoir at 1% HP.

What is this supposed to be?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388474494
What? Left has a mixed Mega Lucario nicknamed "one punch man" (with no punching moves ironically enough), the most obvious Zoroark ever, and attacking Lugia. Right's also guilty of stupid too, with Avalanche Wailord and Hypnosis Darkrai (what is Dark Void?) getting outsped by Delphox.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388468652
Two words: UNOWN SWEEP

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388466652
Eeveelution team versus whatever that is team, with plenty of general incompetence to go around

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388445491
Red team vs. level 50 team. Unsurprisingly, the Red team wins.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388417893
TIL you can specify your Gastrodon's variation, though it's Gen 6 model hasn't been ripped despite not being retconned out of existence.

Mega Kangaskhan sweeps team of vanilla Blisseys.

Water Pulse Togekiss, and a Meloetta missing four out of five Focus Blasts.

Rain vs. mono Fighting with Fake Out spam and Aqua Jet Keldeo.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388809177
Bad sets on both sides, and lefty gives us our favorite game, Guess the Mega.
The mega is Tyranitar, not Salamence or Lopunny, both of which have awful sets.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogontriples-388811152
I had to look up what Flower Shield and Flower Veil do. This is a rather strange battle in general.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388814916
Right is playing the wrong OM, while left is playing the wrong gimmick.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388810923
Need a list here. Best part: Left fails to realize Phantom Force goes through Protect. Twice.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogontriples-388812326
Emolga, Dunsparce, Rock Slide everywhere, some poor move synergy on turn 8, and another game of Guess the Mega on left.
Everything on left has a mega, but the question is answered turn 1: it's Garchomp. Where's your sand?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388820824
Another team in the wrong OM, and right finds out the hard way that setting up is not always the right choice.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-388820818
Cosmic Power Reshiram and Swords Dance Mega Steelix new meta.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388819546
That Ho-Oh though. The Kyogre is not much better.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388819067
Another Monotype team, going up against strange things like Ice Beam Mega Abomasnow and Salac Berry Zekrom.

When a pokemon does more damage to itself than its opponent
The opposing Heracross used Arm Thrust!

Hit 5 times!

I have no clue what just happened

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388810923
Need a list here. Best part: Left fails to realize Phantom Force goes through Protect. Twice.
  • (L) Left lets Crawdaunt get paralyzed by Togekiss. Bronzong (or even Mamoswine) was a fine switch-in here.
  • (L) Then it lets Mamoswine lose almost all its health on Knock Off instead of sacking Noivern.
  • (R) The classic Shitbipom (Fake Out + Last Resort), failing against Ferrothorn.
  • (R) And the even more classic Harvest Trevenant gimmick.
  • (L) No, Gardevoir is a worse switch-in to Ambipom than Ferrothorn. And then it Mega Evolves with Protect before falling to Last Resort (100 base Speed vs 115, remember)
  • (L) Ferrothorn is completely outstalled by Trevenant. Then turn 27 happens. (attempting to Protect against Phantom Force)
  • (L) Bronzong finally poisons Trevenant, but it's too late, as Ferrothorn would have at least prevented Leech Seed.
  • (L) Using Protect a second time against Phantom Force, as if turn 27 wasn't a solid proof of its mechanics.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-389027497
(R) The classic mono-Ditto team.
(R) Yeah, use Toxic on a Gliscor. Nice idea.
(R) That Ditto is not Choice-locked? So what item are you running, if it's not Choice Scarf?
(R) You realize Substitute blocks Imposter, right?
(R) Oh yeah, item is Sash. On all Dittos.
(L) With right unable to do nothing, Breloom proceeds to 6-0 the team with Focus Punch.
★Mckmini: gg although it wasn't

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-389030011
(R) Laidens's team: Togetic / Psyduck / Starmie / Politoed / Horsea / Corsola
(L) Rock Slide Mega Rayquaza, weakened by its own Delta Stream.
(R) Is NP Togetic a thing?
(L) But Weakness Policy Dragonite is, for some reason.
(B) Horsea nets a kill.
(R) We have Politoed, Corsola, Starmie and Psyduck vs. a Mega Rayquaza that just used EQ. Of course, the best switch-in is the Ground-weak Corsola.
(R) Yeah, that's Hypnosis's biggest drawback.
(R) Starmie uses Surf on Mega Rayquaza.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-389028835
(L) What looks like a mono-pink/purple.
(L) FEAR Rattata is one thing, but then there's lvl100 Rattata. Later revealed it doesn't even have a Sash.
(L) Return / Sky Attack / Dazzling Gleam Power Herb Togekiss. Using Return on Drifblim and wasting its Power Herb.
(R) EvasionPass Drifblim... with Calm Mind.
(L) Random Protect on Mega Slowbro.
(L) Sash Blissey (we all know she's a extremely frail Pokémon... 255 base HP only), using Toxic on a Pokémon behind a Sub, then spamming Protect to prevent her doom.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-389021725
(R) Rock Slide + Ice Beam Empoleon.
(L) Focus Blast + Roar Keldeo.
(L) Blizzard Slowking. Attempting to use Focus Blast on Victini twice.
(R) +2 Weavile is about to sweep... and then switches out.
(L) Wish + Toxic Jolteon. With Leftovers, and using Toxic on a Amoonguss.
(B) Turns 16-17 are full of non-sense. Jolteon Wishes, Victini U-turns out and Golbat is sent in. Of course, Jolteon switches out, scared of a Pokémon it both outspeeds and OHKOes.
(B) It is just me, or Pokémon here are way more bulky than they should?
(B) Amoonguss outspeeds Slowking.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-389028011
This one was too much for me.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-389022157
(L) Butterfree. With Infestation, and using Sleep Powder on Ferrothorn, which laughs at it while stacking hazards.
(L) Yes, that's the infamous Cosmic Power Clefable. With Metronome, for some reason.
(R) Using Leech Seed on two obvious Magic Guard Pokémon.
(L) Alakazam setting up in the face of Ferrothorn, which just OHKOes.
(L) Physical Blissey.
(L) Non-Mega Pidgeot.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-389002097
Wartortle doesn't like sleep.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388996172
The classic no item Hoopa-U and non-Mega Charizard.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-388991582
A very bad mono-Arceus is steamrolled by SubGlow Manaphy.

(L) Red's GSC Team... down to the levels.
(L) Not movesets though, but charm pikachu were worse.
(R) Psychic Lucario?
(L) Sunny Day Venusaur. On a lucario.
That Venusaur wasn't even Chlorophyll. Also nice switch-in to a Pokémon that has just used Psychic.
And of course, our friend the non-Mega Charizard.

(L) resoulute's team:Pikachu / Snorlax / Machamp / Gengar / Slowbro / Golem. This is followed by:
(R) ★Kiddletron:GENWUNNER
(L) Yet another Fake Out/Last Resort Ambipom, which gets smacked by...
(R) Hammer Arm Golem.
(L) Gastly.
(L) Sash Trick Room/Toxic/Destiny Bond Gastly.
(R) Golem Hammer Arming said Gastly. Twice.
(L) Gastly Toxicing a Mega Gengar.
(R) Mega Gengar with Giga Drain. Which he used on another Ghost. And then it is felled by Sash Destiny Bond.
(R) Golem Explodes on a Forretress with no Spin to block, for all of 44%.
(R) Guts Machamp, okay. It turns out to be Flame Orb Bulk Up, so it did choose the correct orb for a setup sweeper. Using ThunderPunch when your STAB will do fine, another matter.
(L) Bounce Mega Blaziken. Buys free turns, if nothing else.
(R) Slowbro with Psychic and Psyshock.
(L) Blaziken actually tanks a Psyshock and dents Slowbro pretty heavily with HJK. Yveltal seems set to come in and close it out, but along comes...
(R) Body Slam/Iron Head Snorlax. It gets one free turn on Yveltal, and needed only one more to cheese past it. Alas.
(R) Pikachu. At least it picks up a Fake Out kill and has a 2HKO on Sylveon with Volt Tackle, only to be felled by...
(L) Echoed Voice Sylveon.

I can't use spoiler tags, so too bad.

(R) 6 Blisseys.
(L) Sticky Webbing a team of 6 Blisseys.
(R) Light Screen Blissey.
(L) Spider Web Galvantula.
(L) Poison Jab Galvantula.
(R) Soft-Boiling every turn, wasting pp.
(L) Galvantula using Bug Buzz more than once, when poison jab deals more.
(L) Minimize Muk.
(R) Flash Blissey.
(L) Mud Slap Muk.
(R) Psychic Blissey.
(R) Work Up Blissey, on the same Psychic Blissey.
(L) Mud Bomb Muk.
(R) Sweet Kiss Blissey.
(L) Entrainment Truant Durant.
(R) Sing Blissey.
(R) Blizzard Blissey.
(L) Miracle Eye Gothitelle... No what?
(L) Using Tailwind against 6 Blissey and with Sticky Web hazard for the blisseys. tl;dr GOTTA GO FAST
(L) Wanted to made the enemy surrender, prolonging battle.
