Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

This is almost a gimmick done right. Not real sure about Hyper Voice Vaporeon and Assault Vest Lapras, though.

There were almost more Waterfall flinches than Air Slash flinches in this one.

Speaking of gimmicks, Snatch swipes a Mat Block, causing a forfeit.

All the use of Boomburst broke my eardrums.

Pikaclones vs. a team of only Smeargle and an unlucky Absol.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-411462331
Aegislash is a pretty common mon in BH, but I didn't realize it was this common.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-411460077
Metang, both teams in general, and Focus Energy Kingdra getting just one crit in eight attacks.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogontriples-411462995
Swagger+Safeguard is an interesting combination, but using it on Bronzong is a bit suspect.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-411461610
Itemless physical Greninja and Blast Burn Mega Charizard Y.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-411463278
Sableye fails to recognize that Fake Out only works on your first turn out. Twice. And more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-411470427
Left offers right some useful advice. Judging by right's team, however, he's going to need more than that to succeed in AG.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-411468334
RestTalk Arceus-Electric, which may or may not be a thing, Haxorus almost sweeping, and some questionable plays by right.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-411469883
Basically everything on left. List time.
Agility+Speed Boost Ninjask. Gotta go fast.
Ninjask uses Toxic on Skarmory, and promptly gets phazed for its troubles.
Blissey freezes Skarmory with Ice Beam... and then uses Flamethrower on the next turn, promptly thawing it.
Darkrai uses Drain Punch, doing more damage to itself than to Skarmory (based Rocky Helmet is based).
Regice uses Avalanche on Whirlwind, doing a whopping 7%.
Ninjask uses Night Slash, and promptly dies.
Mega Steelix taking advantage of Sand Force. Kind of. It then uses Autotomize, despite the fact that left clearly knows Skarmory has Whirlwind.
Regice comes in, promptly dies to hazards, and then left forfeits.

WishTect Braixen. Why even.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-411469045
I don't know why people keep trying the BP-to-Magikarp strategy when it almost always fails.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-411465322
Among other problems, this battle has a rather hilarious ending.

I've got another batch of matches, fresh out of the oven.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-411505786
Harvest Dragalge destroys a Shedinja. Also, the most insane set of predictions I have EVER seen in any match happens (seriously, how did that work so well?!?).

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-411512839
Imprisonform Shuckle, and a team that I desperately want to see more of.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-411520235
Mespirit versus the world of BH. Guess who wins.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-411520635
The Deoxys set was incredibly silly, and I could only assume the Scizor set was too, given it used Mean Look before succumbing to the wonders of confusion.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-411522994
Impostor Ditto tries to defeat a Charge Beam/Nuzzle/Aeroblast/Oblivion Wing Lugia, with predictable results. The rest of the match has very silly sets, too, with a great ending.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/natureswap-411429694
Someone with a pretty good username gets too greedy in front of a Machamp, and pays dearly with an easy loss.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/hackmonscup-411660374
The god of hackmons has appeared, and it means business.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/followtheleader-411796298
This is all you need to understand how stupid this battle is:
★SirSleepy: woah
★SirSleepy: a quadlet

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-411790929
Sableye's packing metronome for some reason, but it's actually the other side that has the bigger problems...

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-412134311
I think this one speaks for itself...
★HipsterCazador: mherhenjhunjhe

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-412139535
Mono-Blissey, one of which uses EARTHQUAKE, versus a team of the fan favorites...

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-413232264
I don't know how it happened but one Dragonite just beat six Pokemon without taking any damage and OHKOing them all, when the only thing on left's team was the one Dragonite.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-413204336
★Neil P Shah: play or i will slap you
(L) The Porygon-Z is itemless. Probably already ate its Sitrus Berry
(R) Nosepass
(R) Offensive Nosepass
(R) ★Neil P Shah: shut up
Left didn't say or do anything.
(R) Rayquaza uses Draco Meteor on a Sylveon
(L) Apparently physical Sylveon is a thing, although it works out pretty nicely for left.
(R) Fire Fang Mega Charizard X. At least it is a mega.
(L) Literally all of left's mons have Sitrus Berry. The Umbreon probably had one too.
(L) Literally all of left's mons also have Protect. Last time I checked this was Anything Goes, not VGC.
(R) Special Chesnaught
(L) Yanmega stays in on a Leech Seed

In OU, I faced a Rotom-W. This was its set:

Rotom-Wash @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
IVs: 0 Atk
- Pain Split
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Trick

This totally caught me off guard, burning my Lopunny, Trick-Scarfing Acrobatics Talonflame, and stealing Empoleon's Choice Specs.

This isn't a silly set at all. If I'm remembering correctly, it was decently popular in gen 5 and I used it a few times in XY. It's quite decent.

I agree. Trick Choice Scarf sets are great for dealing with defensive Pokemon, shutting them down and locking them into one move. Rotom-Wash is one of the best Pokemon for this role. It's not too common, but it works and it's definitely not silly.

It's also not in an OM. These, however, are.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-413953591
Birdspam vs. SubPlot Pikachu, itemless Hoopa-C, GeoXern setting up on Talonflame, and a bunch of things we didn't see due to Staraptor nuking most of left's team.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-413951195
Shiftry sweep, Golbat, itemless Rotom-W, and more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-413951729
Do Fire teams not run Torkoal anymore? This particular team was also rather unlucky.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-413953039
Four level 15 Wobbuffet, left falling for Destiny Bond multiple times, and more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-413952039
A very brave (and lucky) Furret, Dunsparce a) ever and b) using Substitute while badly poisoned, and more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-413948226
Simple GeoHerb Cresselia ending its own sweep with Light of Ruin, ImprisonForm Dialga taking a very long time to transform, that Hypno set, and more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-413940776
I don't even know what right was planning to accomplish here. That Smeargle set is probably the dumbest one I've seen here. And that is saying something.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-413951865
This team gives Ash teams a bad name. Not that they had a good name in the first place, mind you.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-414130510

Oh... that Heatran set. I can see Magic coat being great, but the rest of it... what? Also, ghosts can escape, you know...

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-414131700

Featuring the same guy as in the last battle. Darmanitan and Garchomp do some work... Wait, is that Blissey using sucker punch? And there's non-Sturdy Shedinja. No, it's not Magic Guard...

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-414137503

More silly sets, and an Aegislash that does not know how to properly close out a game...

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414376638
The bad things speak for themselves (*cough* right's team *cough*), however it is the chat that is the best.
★HasturMaster: reportin' 4 battl sir
★Broken Pie: I thought this tier was legit
★HasturMaster: nothing is legit in this tier
★HasturMaster: in this world its eat or be eaten
★Broken Pie: screw u flowey
★HasturMaster: k
★HasturMaster: nah anything goes is just people doing stupid things
★HasturMaster: that's the true meta
★Broken Pie: welp

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414400554
Mono-Unown is just the start.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414398109
That Metagross set, and Night Slash Murkrow. However, the best comes from the chat:
★michaeldrake: i forgot
★michaeldrake: its immune to dark
Nothing is immune to Dark.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414398356
God.
Charizard's Charizardite Y is reacting to Vivancos's Mega Bracelet!
Charizard has Mega Evolved into Mega Charizard!
[Charizard's Drought!]
The sunlight turned harsh!
The opposing Durant used Entrainment!
Charizard acquired Truant!
Charizard used Earthquake!
The opposing Durant lost 26% of its health!
Turn 2
[Opposing Durant's Truant!]
The opposing Durant is loafing around!
[Charizard's Truant!]
Charizard is loafing around!
Turn 3
The opposing Durant used Rock Slide!
It's super effective! Charizard lost 100% of its health!
Charizard fainted!

And again, that's just the start. Literally.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414394430
Baton Pass fails hard vs. Rhyperior, Power-Up Punch everywhere, and more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414395734
(R) DD + Hurricane Dragonite
(L) Special Azu (Sap Sipper?)
(L) Hypnosis Spiritomb
(R) Special Chesnaught
(L) Quick Claw Druddigon

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-414409008
All Pokémon lvl 50, shitmons (feat. itemless Forretress), spam. All of this from Team Preview only. The battle isn't much better.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-414411469
Unviable mons: left Zoroark and FEAR Rattata, right Floette-Eternal and Deoxys-D. Left leads with Sturdinja (which is bad on the first place):
★adk13: leave before u rage
And Sheddy gets KOed turn 1.
There's way more, ofc. For example:
★adk13: u cheaters

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-414401306
Meganium, for some reason. Left has just discovered Sturdinja.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/1v1-414412568
THIS.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-414418141
Speed Boost Extreme Speed Pikachu. Gotta go fast. And more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414418854
Fake Out / Grass Knot / Nasty Plot / Dark Pulse Liepard, Milotic outspeeding Flygon, Charge Beam Mega Alakazam, and more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414418672
Left Baton Passes to Bacon Bird while right is totally uncapable of stopping the pass. Bacon Bird carries both Air Slash and Oblivion Wing.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414414976
Lead Donphan screws Shell Smash Gorebyss. Other stuff includes Kasib Berry Cresselia and Shadow Ball + Dark Pulse Cofagrigus. Jesus Bird sweeps.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414417277
Fire Blast hits when Drifblim is at +2 Evasion but not when it's at +0. Aside from that, mixed Arcanine spamming Iron Tail on Scolipede. Heracross pulls off an easy win after the Baton Pass.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414409643
Vital Spirit Electivire, Golbat, Solar Beam Flame Body Magmortar (with no sun), and more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414402413
Bunch of horrible mons here: Farfetch'd, Delcatty, Qwilfish. That's not all though, SD Empoleon, a classic Shuckle set failing hard, and more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414392312
I still wonder what was that Mewtwo thinking.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414390895
Ice Beam Goodra puts into work (sort of), Leftovers Porygon2, Focus Blast Rocky Helmet Excadrill, and more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414469709
Mono-FEAR Rattata.
★gorganic: quit now
But it fails miserably against Slowbro.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414461788
Hyper Voice Jolteon (admittedly it has a bad movepool), Poison Jab Gliscor, Flash Cannon Kingdra (again, pathetic movepool), Hypnosis Gengar, and more.
Yes, that's non-Mega Charizard. Again.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414443612
Not a particularly bad battle (stands out Belly Drum + Last Resort Snorlax without Sitrus Berry, that Smeargle and the random Protect on Zapdos), but the chat.
★PatricioPatricio: brb calling mods
★Deathmind91: Why?
★PatricioPatricio: not saying hi is rude
★PatricioPatricio: RUDE!

Lopunneye: Mega kangaskhan is banned from AG
&Scotteh: >banned from AG
&Scotteh: kek

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414448612
Wtf is this

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-414480874
Mono-Stunfisk on right; Typhlosion, FEAR Caterpie and Magikarp (stopped being funny in 1996) on left.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-414450094
Classic BH stupidity. A shitmons team on left is wrecked by Moxie MMX, but right team features Victini, Genesect and Alomomola, all unviable.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-414442885
One of the worst BH battles I've recently seen, right is unable to break Poison Powder / Safeguard / Fury Cutter Sturdinja.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/inversebattle-413950318
Not a really stupid battle. Mono-Water on left.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/inversebattle-413779113
That Porygon2 has accuracy issues. Also is Bisharp (as a Steel type) viable in Inverse?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414504154
Signal Beam Galvantula, Dragon Pulse Zekrom... and that's the entire battle.
But Lickitung and Farfetch'd are in the back, for some reason.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414497460
Skitty. That is all.
Yes, the entire battle is horrible.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414488098
Mono-Flying on left, and on right, is that a Kalos Ash team? (I don't watch the anime so idk). Really, what's up with all those Farfetch'ds today?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414496989
Keeping with the monos, mono-Staraptor on left.
★staraptor god: i will become a starapt
★staraptor god: or MASTERRRRRR

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-414503318
Stop with the Magikarps. FEAR Magnemite is also there, without Sturdy...
★WommyHgyes: no Sturdy?
★TheHurdleMurdle: why didn't my sturdy activate?
★TheHurdleMurdle: that happens so often and i don't know why
★WommyHgyes: Becuse it has other Ability...
★TheHurdleMurdle: but i thought i....
★TheHurdleMurdle: well whateve4r
LOL
