Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

Someone. Please. Take this one. Think of the children!
  • Right's team looks like a legit BH team.
  • Switches in Mega Steelix vs. Mega Gyarados, but it predicted the Knock Off and only lost Leftovers.
  • Then Chansey (right) loses her Eviolite to the same Gyarados, not without removing about 90% of Gyarados' health thanks to a crit Knock Off.
  • ... before Shell Bell Mega Rayquaza switches in and falls. Do I smell a Mega Gyarados sweep?
  • Regigigas then tries to revenge kill with FakeSpeed, but fails at 6% HP left on Gyarados. Right player forfeits afterwards. If it used FakeSpeed earlier instead of stupidly losing Rayquaza, maybe...

This.... is the worst way to handle boosting. On BOTH sides of the coin.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-425971913
That's awfully smart of you to send in your Gengar at that time. Good job.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-425973021
The chat in this is incredibly entertaining. Also, this is yet another sweep.

Metapods... fight just as well as you expect against the king of dragons.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-425983232
This is my first time seeing someone compliment a team of Magikarp. Also... the slowest way to kill a team of fish.

(L) Not Imposter Chansey
(L) Yawn
(R) Metronome
(R) Lum Berry Mega Steelix
(L+R) A 20 turn Metronome battle
(R) Endless battle clause almost activates
(L) Infernape, let alone two of them

This whole battle in general

I probably missed something because it was that bad
Calm Mind & Dragon Dance ever as well
You know, Quiver Dance and Shift Gear exist

Knew I was gonna miss something XD

In order to make up for it, here's this replay:

The battle is stupid enough but you've got to see the chat too.
My brain exploded at Team Preview
(R) Scolipede / Trubbish / Hoppip / Magikarp
(L) Mixed Typhlosion with Rock Slide
(R) Sending Hoppip, of all things, into Typhlosion
(R) Grassy Terrain
(L) Takes 3 turns before using Brave Bird on Scolipede
(R) The Magikarp joke
(B) MAGIKARP SWEEP FTW

My brain exploded at Team Preview
★Itz ShadowRose: nnnnnnnnoooooooo

★crizer: jajajajja

At least they realized that they were dumb enough to be swept by a Magikarp. Their brain probably exploded too.

This is just bad. Like, one of the worst battles on this thread bad.
I got this one.

(Both) All of those mons in general, except maybe Victini, and even that's a stretch.
(Both) No items on anything except Cinccino.
(L) Thunderbolt Cinccino.
(R) Aura Sphere Samurott.
(L) Shadow Ball Honchkrow. #GhostIsNotDark
(R) Thunder Fang+Spark+Crunch Luxray.
(L) Earthquake Dwebble when Thousand Arrows and Precipice Blades (not to mention Crustle) exist.
(R) Psychic Whimsicott when Psystrike exists (and Dark mons, too).
(R) Draco Meteor Serperior without Contrary.
(R) Keeping Serperior in on Darumaka that it knows has Flare Blitz, and in the sun to boot.
(R) Lilligant has Drought (Solar Beam, perhaps? Or a Chlorophyll teammate, but neither was obvious) and Psychic.
(L) Bug Bite+Rollout Scolipede when, well, you get the idea.
(R) Flamethrower Victini when Blue Flare and Contrary+Overheat exist.
(L) Night Slash Liepard when Knock Off exists. IIRC, Liepard gets it in standards, too.

Swords Dance Gligar passes its +4 Attack boost to Mega Beedrill, forcing left to forfeit.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-427061830
The green team flees from a fight with a mono-Poison team. Not like mono-Poison are the hardest teams to face...

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-427061813
I'll gladly let someone else comment this battle.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-427065893
What seems to be a DPP team forfeits against a mono-Cradily squad. Why throwing off non-STAB, weak moves when you have Gallade?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-427073505
4v6, one Ditto on each side (left's one having Imposter), and a nicely disguised Arceus-"Electric".

(L) Cherubi and Fennekin.
(L) Flame Charge + Disable Ninetales, using Disable on an obviously slower +0 Mega Blaziken.
(R) While Weavile has a type advantage over Mega Rayquaza, Weavile isn't a good switch-in into... anything. But it works.
(L) Air Slash (+ Dragon Ascent) Mega Rayquaza. Apparently it has no Extreme Speed.
(L) Fake Out Smeargle (although it does have some use with Moody, at least), with Rocky Helmet. It also feels like becaming a Hustle Pokémon.
(L) FINAL GAMBIT DUGTRIO
(R) Why would Vespiquen stay in vs. Fennekin?
(L) Why would Fennekin stay in vs. Starmie? Especially with Cherubi in the back (lol)
(L) Said Cherubi has a Sitrus Berry. And takes no less than 60% from Starmie's Scald (Specs? idk).

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-426963764
Seemingly competent team loses to Dark near-mono

#DarkIsNotGhost2016
Hence why I said near-mono

I have even more mind-melting matches here.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-427206726
Oh. Oh no. Did Left just run Geomancy and TOXIC on the same set?!?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-427207239
A competent match for once. You would think that this would have been decided easily, but Left reminds Right why passing to Mega Heracross is a terrible idea.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-427212084
This match is too dumb. I cannot even...

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-427214574
I lied. This one's WORSE.

[L] Three pokemon team.
[R]Pretty much everything besides the Kyruem White is suboptimal.
[R] Magic Coating against a MEGA DIANCIE. You should have had a better option...
[L] Light of Ruin....
[L]misses, leading to it falling to Infernape's Close Combat.
[L] Mega Pidgeot using Blue Flare when literally everything resists it.
[L] Switching to Mega Rayquaza against a Rhyperior...
[R] ...and meeting a Drain Punch. You had a Rock move..
[L] Non-Aerilate Mega Rayquaza.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-427213689
Deoxys, in all of its glory, and what is perhaps the stupidest match of the bunch, or maybe even the last 10 pages.

Deoxys, in all of its glory, and what is perhaps the stupidest match of the bunch, or maybe even the last 10 pages.
Dear God...

(L) One of each Deoxys forme, and no other mons.
(L) Deoxys-D has Iron Barbs and a Rocky Helmet, which was revealed when...
(R) ... Keldeo used Crunch. It also had Ominous Wind.
(R) Night Daze+Seed Flare+Air Slash+Drill Run Dragonite. At least it had a STAB move, albeit a suboptimal one.
(L) Speed Boost Deoxys-S. Gotta go fast. It had a Sash, but its Bolt Strike triggered Yveltal's Rocky Helmet.
(L) Spacial Rend+Cosmic Power+Aqua Ring Speed Boost Deoxys-N.
(R) Fairy Aura Xerneas with Geomancy and no Power Herb, along with Oblivion Wing and Dragon Ascent.
(R) Metronome Mega Absol.
(R) Air Balloon Zygarde.
(L) Deoxys-N using Aqua Ring at the very end of the battle with 5% HP left, allowing Xerneas to kill it.

SOMEONE just discovered Sturdinja.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-427704066
Seemingly competent team gets swept 2-0 (because right only had two Pokemon) by a Corsola.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-427453137
Sonic theme team, Shift Gear Mega Aggron (which only fainted due to whiffing a Gear Grind against a Sandslash), and Dragon Tail (why not Whirlwind? Sure WW can get bounced, but it can actually hit if a Mega Diancie gets dragged out.). It also took being FROZEN TWICE for right's Cresselia to finally go down. All in all, this is one of the stupidest battles in a few pages.

I think I can match that stupidity right here with some more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-427634787
I am pretty sure this Blaziken (who is also an anime) got really lucky.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-427641104
This kind of speaks for itself.
Charizard used Hyperspace Fury!

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-427876742
Oh man, this is pretty dumb. I want to see more of this team, but it got swept...

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-427876977
This, however, is a dumb team that got properly showcased. Someone else take this one.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-427882702
Mega Aerodactyl versus a bunch of Blisseys, and it actually made a dent into it before losing.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-427883773
Both teams look legit, but there's some pretty silly sets in there.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-427885541
This one, however... is completely off the rails, and the silliest one of the lot.

[R]- Slowking
[R]- OFFENSIVE BASTIODON
[R]- Machamp, nicknamed John Cena
[R]- Said Machamp has Dual Chop and Smack Down
[R]- Keeping his burned Machamp in
[R]- Bulk Up. Even outside of BH it's pretty mediocre
[R]- Snatch
[R]- Crolax in BH
[R]- Sandslash, using Sand Tomb
[R]- Regular Slowbro. You can use Mega Slowbro without manual Mega Evolving, you know.
[R]- Said Slowbro has Oblivious

(I know this is mostly R but I couldn't think of anything silly that L did)

[R]- OFFENSIVE BASTIODON
For a moment there, I thought you said offensive Bastion. I've been playing too much Overwatch.

(L) All Eeveelutions.
(L) Hyper Voice Sylveon without Pixilate.
(Both) Sylveon outspeeding Volcanion.
(R) Volcanion using Flamethrower on Flareon, triggering Flash Fire... and then doing it again the next turn. I hope that's Specs Volcanion, at least.
(L) Said Flareon had Body Slam, and then switched out of Ferrothorn instead of, you know, using that 4x effective STAB set.
(Both) A war of Dragon Pulse Dragonite and Dark Pulse Umbreon. And Umbreon is doing significantly more damage.
(R) Megagross uses Psychic... on Umbreon.
(R) Boomburst+Psycho Cut+Psychic MMX.
(L) Aqua Tail+Ice Beam Vaporeon.
