Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

To be fair, there's precident for posting it here. For one, no subforum yet. For two, others have done it before me.
yeah. I feel that the ridiculous things that happen in AG justify it being in the "other metagames" category. it isn't really competitive and there's all of one pokemon who's a permanent resident. like hackmons without the hacking bit, really.
if anyone has another argument, i'd be happy to hear it.

Yeah, you two do have a point there.

To be fair, that thread was getting a little stale. Especially with that one guy only posting a replay with some reaction image for something that wasn't THAT bad.

Silly things in OMs is nice because of the variety of metas and potential silly things that can exist.

Battle between batttletads and josh 58 started!
Go! Kyogre-Primal!
josh 58 sent out Keldeo-Resolute!
Turn 1
Kyogre-Primal used Volt Switch!
It's super effective! The opposing Keldeo-Resolute lost 87% of its health!
Kyogre-Primal went back to batttletads
Go! Giratina!
The opposing Keldeo-Resolute usedSuperpower!
It doesn't affect Giratina...
Turn 2
The opposing Keldeo-Resolute used Close Combat!
It doesn't affect Giratina...
Giratina used Leech Seed!
The opposing Keldeo-Resolute was seeded!
The opposing Keldeo-Resolute's health is sapped by Leech Seed!
Turn 3
The opposing Keldeo-Resolute used Close Combat!
It doesn't affect Giratina...
Giratina used Substitute!
Giratina put in a substitute!
Giratina lost 25% of its health!
Giratina restored a little HP using its Leftovers!
The opposing Keldeo-Resolute's health is sapped by Leech Seed!
The opposing Keldeo-Resolute fainted!

Close the OU thread and open a new one then imo.

That thread was also nice because it could serve as a good example of what not to do. You could learn quite a bit about OU strategy by watching some of the worst players and not doing what they did, especially if the poster of the replay was so kind as to give an analysis of what the "victim" did wrong. In other words, it was both entertaining and educational! And while Other Metas has potential for more spectacular silliness, with so many options in things like BH or AAA it's going to take a long time to isolate what to do by looking at what not to do.

— Non-Adamant Blissey.
— Ferrothorn trying to Leech Seed Espeon.
— Thunderbolt/Flash Cannon Ferrothorn. At least it's 252 Modest!
— In the hax department, a successful Freeze on Chansey's first Ice Punch.
— Non-Adamant Chansey.
— Practically in-game NPC levels of non-prediction, leading him to graciously thaw my frozen Espeon with Fire Punch.
— Diancie when Carbink outclasses it completely.
— Diancie using Toxic on an Espeon that he had already seen had Magic Bounce. And doing it again after Espeon Protected against the first one, so it obviously wasn't a misclick.
— Diancie using Diamond Storm off of its less-invested attacking stat against Espeon. (Espeon has 65/130/95 defences in Stat Switch, so using a Special move would have been a better idea, even if I'd invested in Special bulk instead of Physical.)
— Ferrothorn reveals its last move, Giga Drain... by using it against my Scizor.
— Turns out that Diancie has a -Sp. Def nature. Probably Rash, I'd guess.
— Turns out Blissey has no HP investment at all.
— Chansey has 84 HP EVs. Is there some good reason for that?

But seriously this guy's complete lack of prediction is really, really sad.

[14:36:28] +Pikachuun: imo someone should make an america-based bh team
[14:36:36] +Pikachuun: and see how high they get on the ladder
[14:36:37] +Pikachuun: y/y
[14:36:42] +Kingslayer2779: america based?
[14:36:43] +Pikachuun: aka run 6 braviaries
[14:36:50] Mydrel Kyenshi: Oh right
[14:36:54] +Pikachuun: I should do that
[14:36:54] +Kingslayer2779: freedom overcomes all

And thus FOR MURICA was born, in which I attempt to get as high as possible using a team of only Braviaries! Here's my current payload:

You can't win battles with Sturdinja + MMX...

Never run Geomancy Xerneas against a team of 6 Braviaries. Also, don't send Gengar into a Brave Bird.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-190151491
Sending in Heracross-Mega on a Braviary is a great idea! Dragon Tail is a great move to use with Protean, especially on Victini! Sniper Kingdra is a great idea too! Same with not making your Braviary's HP even when you try to run a Belly Drum set!

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-190152964
The one loss I had, due to me bringing the wrong Braviary. It's fixed now though. Featuring: FEARtran, Geomancy Kyogre-P, and Shell Smash Xerneas!

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-190155179
Thunder Wave is the correct way to use Kyogre-Primal! Hyperspace Hole is overrated on Hoopa-U anyways. Protect is also a great, not-outclassed move for your M-Rayquazas! Same with non -ate espeed and Dragon's Ascent, as well as Dragon Claw!

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-190156805
Your OU team with Darkrai and a few megas slapped onto it will not work here. Same goes for Speed Boost Thundurus. Switching into Gallade-Mega was by far his best play.

Instant forfeit vs. my idols. That Hydreigon looked interesting, though.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-190180174
Don't mind the fact that I gave Miki Gear Grind instead of Shift Gear (only noticed it while battling, my bad...), the other team had worse: Aguav Berry non-Imposter Chansey. Also, Ami irritated my opponent at the end.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-190182294
I didn't know that Sitrus Berry Kyurem-Black was a thing; maybe to counter Imposter Chansey. Alas, Azusa had no problem getting rid of it. Also, Dragon and Ice seem redundant offensively (its set was Fake Out/Extreme Speed/Dragon Claw/Belly Drum, thanks to Azusa).

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-189558294

I'm only posting 1 replay now because this one is too spectacular too shrug away as luck. I counted a total of:
5 CRITS (8 if you count the 3 from aeroblast+focus energy)
6 MISSES (From a variety of the 75% accuracy Dragon Rush and Magma Storm)
and 1 flinch (which actually mattered, especially coming from a 20% flinch chance move)

I know there are probably battles that have waaay more hax, but what makes this special is the lack of serene grace/stupidly high crit rate moves/low accuracy moves/focus miss.

This is awesome. I need those sets because reasons.

Water you doing? Get it? Sorry, that was a bad joke. But not as bad as this battle.

Nice statusing on turn 2. Otherwise, not much notable except the sore loser at the end.

3 mon gimmick wins, Lick Torrent Greninja, itemless Yveltal, and a rather unusual way of getting around the endless battle clause.

This is AG. You are not using the very reason AG was created in the first place.

6 MMY's, on the other hand...

Curse Bibarel without Simple. ECHOED VOICE EXPLOUD. And can someone explain turn 9?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/challengecup1vs1-190314409
Self KO clause doesn't get invoked very often, but when it does...

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-190313665
Well, that's one way to beat all-Ditto teams.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-190312428
Losing to a lone Klefki is bad, although Dragon Pulse and Stealth Rock against it probably didn't help his cause.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-190310094
Type chart? Viable moves? What are those?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-190312237
No words.

That's a Big Root Whimsicott. I must say I'm impressed by the amount of healing it gets!

I actually came up with that once. It's cute. I like it.

This was brilliant lol.

Seen that before millions of times.

"zacji has won the battle" lol.

Curse Bibarel without Simple. ECHOED VOICE EXPLOUD. And can someone explain turn 9?
Unlike Fury Cutter, the power of Echoed Voice continues to go up with every consecutive turn of use even if it misses. It also does not care who in the battle used the move so long as it is used every turn. That means if your opponent also has Echoed Voice, they can feed off of your Echoed Voice boosts to boost their damage.

Game Freak rules = best rules. lol.

Yes. Yes it is. XD

It can actually be more difficult to deal with a lone setup 'mon than a setup 'mon in a team because everyone uses Roar/Whirlwind instead of Haze, and those don't work when there's only one Pokémon left. The "Silly Thing's You've Seen on the OU Ladder" thread demonstrated this with a lone Simple Stockpile Numel wrecking the lower Ubers ladder.

Special mention goes to the Close Combat/Superpower/Focus Blast/Hydro Pump Keldeo.

In This Match: Cute Charm Milotic doing work.
