Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

Those two actually do very well in PU, but not with Assault Vests.

Well, we went an entire day without any AG replays. We definitely should diversify our replays a bit more, but it's hard when almost nobody is playing AAA or STABmons. So back to the land of chaos, shall we?
  • (L) Grass mono. At least Breloom's there.
  • (R) Heatran with Heat Wave and Dragon Pulse. Fire Blast, and once again, what are you hitting with Dragon Pulse? (Actually, you do hit Palkia, but it'll probably take three hits while it wrecks you with Hydro.)
  • (L) Victreebel with Leaf Storm and Protect.
  • (R) Jirachi with Ice Punch, perfectly positioned to sweep.
  • (L) Torterra can run Crunch, but with a Sitrus Berry? Huh.
  • (L) Breloom with Thunder Punch (finally gutting Jirachi).
  • (L) Cradily with Confuse Ray. #ItGetsSwagger EDIT: And Berry Juice as well, thanks money12wolf for that catch.

LMFAO THIS BATTLE IS WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS I'M STILL USING CAPS ROFROFROF
Smelling Salts plus para move isn't the worst thing ever. Of course, there are better para moves than Zap Cannon (i.e. Nuzzle or Glare), but if you wanna run No Guard on it, I guess you could get away with it. And it should go without saying that there are better mons than Palpitoad for that.

Also, major lol at that Froakie nearly wrecking everything.

Monotype randoms? That's a thing? I totally want to play that! Also, the chat. And that poor Crobat. I don't want to even know what set that was.

Along those lines, anybody got any weird randbats or Challenge Cup sets to share? I mean, it's not under your control, but just because the object of the game is to play the hand you're dealt doesn't make the hands themselves any less goofy.

Yup, monotype random battles is a challenge format on PS (meaning you have to click their name to challenge them, it's not a ladder) but it's really fun n_n
And support Crobat is a thing btw, with an amazingly fast Taunt/Super Fang it can wear down even the bulkiest walls very quickly.

More of the usual AG shit, albeit in a short battle:
Left:
-Flash Cannon Xerneas, which it used on Charizard
-Groudon using Earth Power on Charizard
-Aqua Tail Kyogre missing twice, and I have no idea what type Hidden Power that was

Right:
-Luxray
-Non-mega Charizard with Steel Wing and Dragon Tail

Custap Berry Dive Azumarill vs. FEAR Aron.

Drapion vs. Drapion, Confuse Ray everywhere, type chart fails, multiple attempts at status stacking, non-mega Ampharos, and Phantom Force Yveltal.

Hoo boy.
  • (R) Blaziken with Blaze Kick, which it used on Heatran. Said Heatran was Flash Fire.
  • (R) Next mon up: Moltres, with Aerial Ace and an Aguav Berry. Only after both of these go down do you send in..Lucario, which mercifully outsped.
  • (L) For that matter, what is Heatran hitting with Dark Pulse?
  • (R) Dialga using Roar of Time and Earthquake on Togekiss.
  • (R) Geomancy Xerneas with no Power Herb.
Here, we have:
  • (R) Mega Mewtwo Y with Focus Punch. Without Substitute. Which it gets away with because it uses it while the Gliscor on the other side is setting up. But it still used it on a Gliscor. And then it does it again and pulls it off, whacking a Scrafty. Oh, and Double-Edge.
  • (R) Regigigas with Focus Punch and no Sub. This time Swampert corrects its team's mistakes and hits it.
  • (R) Ho-Oh switching into Mega Swampert. In the rain.
  • (R) Physical Xerneas with Megahorn and Outrage. I know it doesn't get Play Rough, but maybe you should take the hint and not go physical.
  • (R) Zekrom using Bolt Strike on Mega Swampert. It also had Focus Blast. Say it with me now: What are you hitting with that?
  • (L) Zapdos with Discharge (well, there is that 30% para chance) and Ominous Wind. Do you really need to hit Rotom-Heat that badly? (That specific mon being what resists the usual T-Bolt/HP Ice/Heat Wave set.)
EDIT:
Two-mon team of Darkrai and Volcarona, with Darkrai presumably Dark Voiding to oblivion and Volcarona sweeping. Well, Walrein put a stop to that.

Here:
  • (L) Metagross is Spored, but stays in, allowing Mandibuzz to get the quick kill. Y'know, sometimes I feel like a sleeping mon is dead weight, but this is ridiculous.
  • (L) Special Dragonite with Thunder, Blizzard, and Draco Meteor, which it used on Florges. The incoming Moonblast only does 64% with Multiscale broken.
  • (L) Ragequit: "toodle doo (BAN ME PLEASE).
Concerning that Moonblast: I just had to go figure it out. The replay shows it did 236 damage out of 370, meaning Dragonite had 188 HP EVs, and a weird spread. If anybody cares to do the math, I'd be quite interested in what the spreads turned out to be.

The worst part is it would have won in a straight fight, especially since the first SB got the drop. But of course, it ended up facing Jirachi.

Alright, another one for ya.
  • (R) Hypnosis/Nightmare/Dream Eater Gengar again. This is Anything Goes, would people just start using Darkrai for those shenanigans?
  • (L) T-Spikes lead Tentacruel with Confuse Ray. No #ItGetsSwagger this time (although it does), because now that I think about it, it's simple conservative play. You don't chance a miss or taking a +2 whatever if it beats the coinflip. Still, in a metagame where Mega Rayquaza is lurking around every corner, you might want to have Swagger.
  • (L) Honchkrow with Drill Peck and Torment. Torment's not something you see every day, and against a Choice user it can potentially be deadly. The crow, meanwhile, is one of the few birds blessed with the Flying-type version of Dragon Claw: a less-powerful, but consistent move with no drawbacks (recoil, stat drops, low accuracy, low PP).
  • (R) Mega Metagross with Aerial Ace. What are you hitting with that? It also had Psychic. Pretty sure the increased power and flinch chance are well worth the accuracy loss.
  • (L) Mega Lucario with...it gets High Jump Kick? Seriously, you know it's bad when Close Combat is the "safe" option. (I imagine the recoil off a miss would do more to halt your sweep than the defense drops, especially if you're outspeeding stuff anyway.)
  • (L) Gastrodon with Ancient Power, which got the boost, but that didn't save it. And it also had Ice Beam, meaning it forewent either Recover or a STAB.
  • (R) Wobbuffet using Destiny Bond on something that outspeeds it, twice. The first time it could have simply Countered to finish the game, the second time it succumbed to poison damage, making this a much closer fight than it should have been.
  • (R) Talonflame with Fly--which won the game, forcing a High Jump Miss.

2v2 BH Battle
Offensive Deo-D and hmm...

Deoxys-Attack used Boomburst!
The opposing Gyarados-Mega lost 35.6% of its health!
Deoxys-Attack lost some of its HP!

That damage seems awfully low for Deoxys-A unless Gyarados had 252 HP and SpD evs with gentle nature
and the Deoxys-A doesn't have 252 evs for SpA or has terrible SpA nature
