This is just a bad team, even for an ash team with things such as
- Air Balloon Pidgeot
- Non Light Ball Pikachu (Or Pikachu in general)
- Aguav Berry Butterfree (Or Butterfree in general)
- Squirtle and Bulbasaur
- Switching into Squirtle from Charizard holding Charizardite X to take a Thunderbolt

I mean if your going to use an Ash Team (Please don't, but just saying if you are), use some of the viable pokemon he has such as (Mega)Charizard, Gliscor, Hawlucha, Infernape, Heracross, and Staraptor

From this point on, I had to switch constantly switch alts in order to stay at the very bottom:

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249010036 : Dragon Breath Kyu-B, along with an "interesting" team.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249010961 : "Trevenant 4 Ubers"

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249013811 : I don't think he knows that Dragon can't hurt fairies...

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249019801 : Haxy Frillish, and a team that should be in PU.

My turn!

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249286007
Electro Ball normal Mewtwo (one of three), Greninja failing a double Protect, Fly normal Rayquaza, Blizzard MMY, and Hyper Beam Feraligatr (with a miss).

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249289534
Ash team. Featuring Rocky Helmet Butterfree that first used Bug Buzz on Scolipede before Psychic and tried to Sleep Powder a Serperior, Flamethrower Mega Zard Y, a Pikachu that somehow tanks a PuP from Mega Mom, Aura Sphere Squirtle (no, you don't get Mega Launcher) that does all of 21% to Umbreon, Snorlax EQ'ing Umbreon when Double-Edge would kill it (it did so next turn, but Umbreon had healed and so Lax broke itself).
On the other side, Dark Pulse/Confuse Ray(/Toxic/Moonlight) Umbreon and Shell Bell Florges with Psychic (good neutral coverage if nothing else) that gets a drop.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249346918
3 Infernos, all missed. Also Primal Groudon activating Flash Fire on Heatmor and using Lava Plume on the same Heatmor who stayed.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249351753
Left:
  • 3 Eeveelutions.
  • Sylveon with Moonblast, but no evidence of Cute Charm.
  • Aqua Jet Empoleon.
Right:
  • First (Shiny) Mewtwo with Thunderbolt, Fire Punch and a Hidden Power resisted by Sylveon: either Bug (Signal Beam), Fighting (Aura Sphere) or Dark (Ghost would be a better choice, with Shadow Ball).
  • Second (normal) Mewtwo with Recover, Thunder Punch and Focus Punch (the latter without Sub).
  • Blaze Kick Mega Lucario.
  • Ancient Power base Kyurem.
  • Aerial Ace Giratina-O.

(next ones feature my team)

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249347768
Non-Mega Manectric using Volt Switch on my Groudon, Leftovers Latios and non-Mega Sceptile with Toxic.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249349103
Non-Mega Alakazam vs. the world.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249733532
Who doesn't love a Metronome war? But then, the item choices are a bit suspect.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249735730
Sandstorm Unnerve Tyranitar. Let that sink in for a moment. Also starring Power-up Punch+Nasty Plot Weavile, Espeon using Signal Beam on Conkeldurr before Psyshock, and Quiver Dance+Flare Blitz Volcarona (which it used on Malamar twice when Bug Buzz is 4x effective).

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249733922
Black Sludge Gliscor, Aerial Ace Mega Blaziken, Exeggutor Leech Seeding and Toxicing Ferrothorn (also had Protect and Egg Bomb), said Ferrothorn responding with Energy Ball and Grass Knot (not to mention holding a Quick Claw), the infamous Body Slam Blissey, also using Return and getting Leech Seeded, and Sucker Punch Gengar.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-249738476
Another physical Blissey, along with normal Lopunny forgetting how Fake Out works, Giga Drain Sawsbuck failing to 2HKO Gastrodon, Girafarig, and physical Focus Band Pyroar.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249742517
Lone Sunkern vs. RSE Phoebe.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-249740421
Strange Sylveon set vs. vanilla Ubers team.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249741246
Mono Grass team gets a win. I would also question the use of Tailwind in front of Ferrothorn, except Gyro Ball already hits just about everything for max power.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249740868
Physical Nidoking vs. Iron Tail Pikachu-Libre, Scyther, Headbutt Mismagius, and more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249743815
A team that probably belongs in BW OU vs. a team with the infamous Psycho Boost Deoxys-D.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-249741194
Final Gambit Shuckle. Shuckle has 20 base HP. Well, at least it wasn't Shedinja. (On a side note, TIL Shuckle gets Final Gambit.)

In complete fairness, it could be that Espeon's player was expecting a switch to Malamar, which certainly could have absorbed that Psyshock -- they did demonstrate a type chart understanding when they had Politoed hit Tyranitar with a Focus Blast.

Laddering for STABmons is excruciatingly slow and painful, due to the low amount of activity, especially for my time zone. However, sometimes a match like this one comes along and cheers me up.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/stabmons-249763267

First, the opponent sends out Wormadam-Sandy, with a nickname that's probably inspired by its analysis, which Quiver Dances repeatedly while my Skarmory sets up rocks and poisons it. I slowly wear it down with Iron Head and Toxic damage while it continues to boost and recover with Heal Order. Finally, it faints without getting off a single attack.

Next out is Ampharos, whose nickname reveals its item choice. Predicting a Thunderbolt, I switch to Landorus-Therian, and it uses Thunder Wave instead. I guess it helps with that base 45 speed...

After the OHKO with Earthquake, my opponent sends out Milotic, which is nicknamed 'lotion'. Hey, a good choice that forces out Landorus and gives him a free turn to use... Aqua Ring. Ok then. I decide that it's safe to leave Azumarill in and Shell Smash. However, Milotic stays in and uses Hydro Cannon. What a great gift from STABmons!

Next out is Whimsicott, whose nickname is presumably cut off by space - 'klefki aint got th'. I try to KO with Extreme Speed to preserve my boosts, but I barely miss out and Azumarill gets put to sleep by Spore. I switch to Heatran while Whimsicott sets up Geomancy. "Oh no", I think. "Doesn't Geomancy Whimsicott run HP Ground for coverage?" Well don't worry, because it uses Leech Seed instead. On a Geomancy set.

Then we see a Machoke. No, not a Machamp, a Machoke. The nickname, 'Mr. choke', is presumably intended to inspire fear and make me choke under pressure, but fails to do so thanks to the fact that 'choke' does not have a capital letter. Expecting a Dynamic Punch, I switch to Landorus while Machoke uses Detect. Right. Landorus then does 61.4% with Earthquake. Now look at this:

4 Atk Landorus-T Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Machoke: 135-159 (44.8 - 52.8%) -- 22.3% chance to 2HKO
4 Atk Landorus-T Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Machoke: 201-237 (66.7 - 78.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

So it was some kind of Machoke that had defensive investment but wasn't holding Eviolite.

Landorus avoids confusion damage and finishes off Machoke with another Earthquake. Out comes a Purugly, renamed to 'Perv ugly', supposedly in recognition of those staring eyes. Purugly uses Fake Out for some chip damage, then Shell Smashes safely thanks to my confusion. Humorously, Extreme Speed only does 43.5% and Earthquake does massive damage. Landorus faints to a second Extreme Speed. Finally, I send out Scizor, which finishes the game with Bullet Punch.

+Ransei: +Ransei: now...i instantly forfeit if you send a Rhyperior out... (I meant just using a team of Magikarps...)

Since I didn't clarify that it was meant for when I just use Magikarps the first time...I legally had to forfeit o3o.

We've had Doubles replays here before, so I think we're defining Other Metagames as "anything that's not an official tier" for the purposes of this thread. Besides, if we exclude Doubles, Triples, and Inverse, we miss some stuff. Not as much in this BH- and AG-dominated thread, but some.

Anyway, here's another one.
  • (R) Cynthia team from BW1, with Glaceon in place of Eelektross. Interesting, I thought people usually defaulted to PWT squads. Braviary's not a bad Pokemon at all, but Togekiss is the third-best mon she's ever used.
  • (L) Psychic mono over here. Hopefully someone can clear out that Spiritomb ahead of time.
  • (L) Bronzong with Future Sight and Psychic, and nicknamed a certain offensive word I shall not say here. Guess Showdown doesn't have word filters.
  • (R) Sub Bulk Up Braviary, which actually gets to +3 on Bronzong and kills it with Brave Bird. Well, it is the bulkiest regional bird at 100/75/75, but that's still nothing to write home about.
  • (L) Mega Gardevoir with Attract. *sigh* Also, by using Thunderbolt on Spiritomb, does not seem to have Fairy STAB.
  • L goes AFK and has the courtesy to let their opponent know this. I have almost never seen that on Showdown (I've battled a couple of folks who admitted to time crunches, but usually people just quit).
  • Braviary engages in a risky PP stall on Gallade's CCs (taking 55-60% each time), but eventually Gallade is forced to use another move and Braviary puts the poor thing out of its misery. Said other move? Psychic.
  • (L) Metagross with Thunder Punch and...Psychic. That's two physical Psychic-types with the wrong move.
  • (L) Malamar with Thunderbolt and Flamethrower. 68 SpA, people. Is this an off-stat team? Clearly not because
  • (L) Alakazam with Energy Ball. Which hits what, exactly?
  • The end: Garchomp is at 28% and a fairly easy kill for whatever Psychic STAB Zam is packing, but instead, let's use Energy Ball (getting the drop), leaving Chomp at 4% and able to EQ and win. On a crit, no less. (Zam might have been choice-locked, but why do that?)

Battle #4 http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/eos-almostanyability-78541 This is the AAA finals for a tournament in EOS server and I was facing a bot that was using my exact same team.

Battle #5 http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/mixandmega-250390514 My wonderful Furret team vs a regular Mix & Mega team. (I tried to keep it as close of a battle as possible after Furret single handedly took down Refrigerate Entei).

The Magikarp 6-0 is probably the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Who uses Cross Chop on a Mega Lucario?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/proteanpalace-250320026
  • Just the worst fucking type synergy I have ever seen. Five Pokemon weak to Fairy. Four weak to Ice, including two double weaknesses.
  • Hitmontop is not bad in Protean Palace if you're running a priority abuse set, but Intimidate + HJK + Triple Kick with no obvious form of priority or utility is bad.
  • A non-Mega Steelix that falls to Mew's Scald in one shot -- assuming 252 HP EVs, it can't have had more than 48 SpD EVs.
  • Hyper Beam Latios that is slower than Mew.
  • Remember that bad type synergy? This is where I sweep four Pokemon with Jirachi locked into Dazzling Gleam.
  • Mega Garchomp thinks it's a good idea to hit a Fairy-type with Draco Meteor.
EDIT: 300th post woohoo

There isn't really anything particularly ridiculous about this, as the silliness of an OU team in AG cannot compare to the other even more stupid things, but when this guy has a rating of ~1400, you know there's something wrong with the ladder.

I saw a Mono-Dragon team in AG, which had the likes of Druddigon on it. Even worse because you know, you can't change type.
Lately, it seems a lot of bulky Darkrais have been running around in AG. I know it kind of sounds ridiculous, but it does have some utility in only being 3HKO'd by Arceus's E-speed.
As for that Steelix, it might have been running a 68/68 spread. That seems kind of likely.
