Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-256296754
Mega Sableye burning Umbreon, Dynamic Punch Golurk and Skill Swap Cofagrigus.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-256301115
Anything Goes; Furret, Wartortle and Pikachu included.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-256301620
For starters, switching out to stop an Altaria boosting exists. Gotta admit Heal Bell was a nasty surprise.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-256299789
CurseLax haxing to death and sweeping a whole team. Fly strikes again, this time in Crobat, and Swords Dance + Bug Buzz Mega Scizor.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-256308713
Dual Screens spam, defensive? Raikou and two unlikely misses near the end.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-256309556
Magikarp vs. the world. Come on, this isn't funny sice RBY.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-256308451
No, Medicham is not going to Mega Evolve, there's no Mega on right's team (apparently).

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-256308985
There's literally nothing on this replay (forfeit before Turn 1), but "sorry i had to won the battle!" is funny.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-256307341
Classic AG stupidity. Lumineon and Raichu, Mixed non-Mega Glalie with Giga Impact, and physical Gengar (why is this that common?).

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/unratedrandombattle-256379949
In which I manage to stall out a Kyurem-Black with...a Hypno. (I was still praying, and wondering why, he didn't click Outrage.) Randbats are awesome for this stuff. Also, I get crazy horrible luck here (double Gunk Shot miss, Will-O-Miss from Sableye) as well as some crazy good luck (Whimsicott hitting its Stun Spore twice, getting full paras both times, and then hanging on with its final hit point to come in later and get a revenge kill).

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-256387805
Amnesia MMX, Knock Off Shuckle (that did all of two percent to MMX), and MMX getting simply dismantled by Yanmega, falling for a Speed Boost Protect twice (fool me twice, shame on me) and getting flinched twice. The ragequit is understandable.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/challengecup1v1-256389377
Seismitoad tanks two Snorlax Hyper Beams and somehow hits four out of five Focus Blasts, missing only on a recharge turn (so no harm done). Luckiest Seismitoad ever.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-256389922
This misclick ends up being costly. Lando goes down, powerless to prevent Mega Heracross from taking a speed pass and cleaning house. The same player forgets about the pass when Heracross takes down his Chomp.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-256391667
Left Side:
  • Neat Entrainment Durant strategy, with Absol providing Mean Look support and then SD-passing to Mega Mawile.
  • If you're gonna use FEAR Aron, it probably helps to switch to something with priority. Just saying. This mistake leads to the left forfeiting.
Right Side:
  • Two dual Fire STAB mons, Heat Wave/Flare Blitz Talonflame and Fire Blast/Blast Burn Mega Zard X, #WrongStat
  • An effective stop to the Mawile--a Sashed Destiny Bond Hoopa-U--but using D-Bond on turn one isn't usually the right idea.
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-256395030
Weakness Policy...Metagross? That's new. Politoed activates it with HP Something (Fire? Ground?) and pays the price, only for Keldeo to revenge it. Also featuring Hoopa-U setting Trick Room only to get outslowed. Oh, and said Hoopa-U had Hyperspace Hole. Whoops.

There's only one reason this replay is here. Facade Mega Sableye.
It is so... wrong that... I don't... I can't even explain how stupid it is (no offense to the person I battled)
Anyway, I got this while I was trying to get reqs, and I sure went down a bit. :I

I think that's all that needs to be said.

Anyway, let's put some substance into this, shall we?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-256946536
Brick Break/Fire Blast Blaziken, Dragon Pulse Mega Altaria (#DragonIsNotFairy?), and Left Side DCs--with six mons that have megas, not all of which are usable in base form. I think we know what that means.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-256948058
This isn't a Battle Spot game, you guys. Also, FEAR Ratatta isn't so effective against a Rock type, and Darmantian, facing a Gothitelle last up, insists on spamming a neutral Hidden Power instead of STAB. Not surprisingly, Goth pulls out the win.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-256949094
Mega Zam just took 87% from a Knock Off. Let's Recover! Said Zam also had Knock Off, which successfully prevented Gliscor from utilizing Poison Heal. We also have an Uproar Rotom-Wash, Giga Drain/Thunder Punch Poison Heal Breloom, Fire Punch Charizard, and Malamar trying to Superpower up only to be dealt a swift defeat at the claws of Scizor.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-256951622
Team of five physical attackers and a Heliolisk versus Ferrothorn and Garchomp (among others, fortunately). Dual Rocky Helmet core should have a field day, especially resisting both of Diggersby's STABs--why is Ferro coming out? And there's no Item Clause, Chomp can have a Rocky Helmet too. Also featuring a Toxic Orb Clefable (to prevent paralysis or sleep, I guess?) and Immunity Snorlax (I guess that could work too?).

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-256954326
There are better mons for Double Team spam than Dedenne. The little guy gets to +5 before being swiftly felled by a Poison Jab (and the reaction is priceless). Also featuring Dark Pulse Rotom-Heat and Focus Blast/Aerial Ace/Drain Punch Chesnaught.

Many people many not really remember it due to how often Mega Altaria spams Fairy moves, but it IS still Dragon type too. It's just no one uses Dragon moves on it since the only things Dragon hits harder on are Poison and Fire Types

Why did Right switch Scizor into Talonflame? No wait, I have a better question, why did Left switch Talonflame out?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-256983302
Monotype...? Wrong tier, guys. Especially right side.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-256985885
BH Shitmons.

L:

R:
- Bah, just shitmons.
You posted the second link twice.

You posted the second link twice.
Thx. I wonder what's wrong with the mobile's copy-paste...
Anyway, Scizor switched into Talonflame to revenge kill it with Bullet Punch (which outprioritizes Flare Blitz) so left switched out. That is how I see it anyway.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-257136932
Bisharp, Bastiodon, Deoxys-Attack trying to set up on Skill Link Mega Metagross, and Mega Audino using Glare on a Pokémon the player knows it has Magic Bounce and packing Teeter Dance (Confuse Ray hits Soundproof and stuff, and there's Swagger too).

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/challengecup1v1-257137430
Captivate used on a genderless mon.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/challengecup1v1-257137211
Weird battle... Why Froslass used Sucker Punch on Turn 2 (on Drapion, that resists it...) when Blizzard KOed? And then Drapion was unlucky and left Froslass with very few HP, only to be killed on Turn 3 by a move that also KOed Turn 2 (hint... it's not Blizzard). So why Sucker Punch of all things?

But he would have died anyway to Pebbles, why not just Brave Burd to do some Damage before going out?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/customgame-257287424
I know Cyustom Game is for fun but the Monotype ladder exists. Anyway, you've also got a Swampert named "No Fucking Toxic" that ironically gets poisoned by said move.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-257286192
Blizzard Snorlax, Gliscor spamming Fire Fang and burning Gardevoir, regular Altaria, Aerial Ace Emolga and type chart issues versus Mega Swampert.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-257287065
Metronome team... without Mew.

Notice the usage of Volt Switch. Notice also that his opponent is running mono Ground.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogontriples-257390754
Too many things without Mega Stones, such as Charizard, Venusaur, and Dragon Pulse Gyarados. All three of those had Life Orbs.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-257397415
I'll let the level 50 mons slide this time, but CM Relic Song Meloetta and Jolteon using Thunder Wave on Thundurus-T, not so much.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-257397308
Fire Blast Talonflame spamming Steel Wing on Wobbuffet, Psyduck, Pumpkaboo, Quick Claw Rock Polish Contrary Shuckle, level 80 Whimsicott, Earth Power normal Aggron, and the best part: Diglett somehow managing to get a sweep.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/pu-257397975
Last I checked, Mr. Mime does not need to sweep with Confusion.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-257396850
Mono Metronome Mew vs. bad normal Charizard and friends. Despite being bad, Zard managed to get 3 kills. And later, Metronome calls Eerie Impulse against Mega Sceptile, which had Drain Punch.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/battle-balancedhackmons-257555338
This guy used Toxic on my Mega Gengar. And then switched Chansey in.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/battle-balancedhackmons-257556525
See the reaction when I hit with Boomburst through Evasion boosts, and on Turn 27.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-257559870
BH shitmons strike again. Also this replay shows why everybody should prepare for Chansey.

EDIT: More shit...
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/battle-anythinggoes-257876011
Fake Out / Double Hit / Thunder Wave Ambipom, Head Smash Strong Jaw Tyrantrum (that dies from recoil), and a Dragonite setting up in front of Icy Wind Keldeo.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/battle-anythinggoes-257877956
And the shitmons faced a serious team...

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/battle-anythinggoes-257879095
Flame Charge Blaziken (#GottaGoFast), and...
★amziha123:u really think im stypid

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/battle-anythinggoes-257879762
L:
- Snatch Umbreon (that works)
- Metagross using Earthquake on Air Baloon Klefki, and then Rock Slide to pop the baloon (Steel STAB anywhere?)
- 3 full paralysis turns in a row and the reaction
- Magic Coat Milotic put into work
- Dedenne
- Forfeiting due to being unable to handle... a set up Vivillon

R:
- Air Baloon Dual Screens Klefki (uuuuh.... Magnet Rise?)
- Vivillon

Courtesy of Fluke from the Most Frustrating Moments thread on OI. Regice goes zero-for-five on Focus Blasts, allowing a paralyzed Furret to beat it. I'm going to call the over-reliance on Focus Blasts, however; STAB Ice Beam would've beaten it in 2-3 shots while actually hitting, and Regice did outspeed

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-257937758
Sitrus Berry Greninja that actually took a hit, followed by Cosmic Power Clefable vs...Cosmic Power Clefable. Scizor on the left finally relieves his CP Clef only to take a Flamethrower to the face from the other and is replaced by Mega Mence, who dares to DD on said CP Clef at +6/+6, lives a Moonblast, and does 58% with a +1 Double-Edge, allowing Talonflame to crit the fairy. The game ends 5-0 for the right when Talon cannot get past a Gyarados. Oh, and CP Clef on the left had Seismic Toss.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/challengecup1v1-257940059
Um, the Wormadam did have an attacking move, right? Not like it helps when your opponent has HP Fire.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/1v1-257941542
This is not the typical 1v1 exchange. Highlight includes Charizard inexplicably switching to Dragon Pulse when two of them would've done 12%, compared to Blast Burn's 22%. Also, look at the ratings.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-257943070
Another Confuse Ray Gengar (#ItGetsSwagger), Serperior with Wring Out (that move would freaking destroy Blissey), Clefable with Hyper Voice (you're not Sylveon), and a rather weird CM war in which Clefable gets two SpA drops and Manaphy chooses to Rest...and runs out of rain, losing the exchange. (I'm tired at this point, so I stop counting silly things there, but there was probably something else.)

I'm actually more surprised a Double Battle lasted that many turns.

So, let's see what today brings:

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-258260772
ENOUGH WITH THE THUNDER WAVE/GYRO BALL FERROTHORN! (And trying to T-Wave a Rotom.) Also, nicknames (especially the Ninjask), and Garchomp trying to EQ that same Rotom. Which had Discharge. And came back in at 2% with rocks up. And then Banette, how do you not Destiny Bond at 33?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-258263945
Why are you leading with Shedinja? Meanwhile, this Moltres gets five kills, including two attempts to revenge it (one of them Sheddy, who succumbs to a burn), and hits every single attack. Blind Bird my ass.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-258265298
Short but sweet. Rock Polish/Stockpile Torterra that stockpiles three and busts out the Wood Hammer...and breaks itself. Might not want to try setting up on a 4x effective hit.
